Tropic Winds Resort by Panhandle Getaways

Condo was beautiful, beds were comfortable. The balcony was the real bonus. It was huge and we spent most of our time out there. Kitchen had everything we needed. Two coffee makers (keurig and drip). The beach chair and umbrella service is nice, but you only get 2 chairs and 1 umbrella per day. Reserve them right away to get the location you prefer. They open at at 9 am and there will be a line. You can reserve the same location for your whole stay. We hade 4 adults so it would cost an extra $45 a day for additional chairs. Luckily the owners had 4 beach chairs that we were able to take down to beach everyday, but they ruined our clothes while carrying them (they had old dirty salt water in the legs). There was a toy box on the balcony full of inflatables, buckets, shovels and boards so we did not have to buy any. Bring flash lights for crab hunting at the beach at night! They also had a high chair and pack and play which was thoughtful. Washer and dryer nice. The parking garage is a plus, but tight. We had a Yukon and had just enough space to park in assigned spot (nice not to have to search for a spot!). A very large (wide) truck park next to us and we could not get into our vehicle. I'm sure he had difficulty making the turns going up in the garage also, as it is narrow. Don't bring oversized vehicles such as dual axle. Location was mostly traffick free, but close to all the restaurants and attractions. We loved this place and will definitely come back

Loved the location. The condo was nice and clean. My only problem there was no extra blankets for the pull out couch. There was pillows and sheets but no blanket provided. We just bought one while down there. Loved the balcony. It’s bigger than most I’ve stayed at. I hated the parking garage. It was very hard to move around in

PROPERTY WAS VERY GOOD CLOSE WALK TO BEACH ONLY DOWNSIDE WAS ONLY ONE ELEVATOR WORKING & WE WERE ON THE 23RD FLOOR ALSO GOT STUCK IN ELEVATOR FOR ABOUT 25 MIN SCARY

This was our second time staying here. It's very nice, very easy, and has everything you look for in a vacation like: Great view, Directly on the beach, Clean, Pool and hot tub, Easy communication, Easy checkin and check out, Basic supplies provided, Designated parking spot, Chair and umbrella service included. We will definitley stay again! The only time we had to wait on the elevators was between 7:30- 9am Saturday which i assume is a busy checkout day in general so to be expected, and it wasn't a long wait as I have experoenced at other places in the past. The umbrella / chair service is a little too eager to put the chairs and umbrella away prior to the expected 5pm closing time. On the last night I was there, the sprinkler sprayed water in our faces while sitting in the hot tub for an extended period of time around 9:15ish. Only time my family experienced this so not sure why this happened. We will remember to fill out all the information on the parking tag next time! I really have nothing bad to say at all. The condo itself was awesome! Plenty of space and CLEAN. All communication with owners was pleasant and laid back. No drama. No complaints.. Property is very nice! This is not a party location, so It's perfect for mature guests and families. We loved staying here both times and look forward to next year's visit!

The pool was out of service and I didn’t notice that on the listing. If this is the case, it should be in bold print. Otherwise, great place.

This is our 2nd year staying in the same condo. This will likely be the condo we keep using each year. The view is amazing. It's right on the beach. Even though the weather was not the best we had an amazing time. The pool was fantastic.

EVERYTHING was perfect! We've been to PCB several times but this was the first time we stayed at "this end" of the beach - and LOVED it. The owners/managers are great to work with and the unit was impeccably clean. We also enjoyed the included beach service! We'll definitely be back!

The kitchen was fantastic and fully stocked with all the appliances and things needed to cook full meals while at the beach. The indoor/outdoor pool was exactly what we needed and being beach front was a dream! 4 minutes from peir Park ment regular visits to fish or shop which was our favorite park!

The only downside would be the lack of timely response to maintenance issues. It took three phone calls over four days to get the toilet unplugged. One of the sliding glass door handles came loose and rather than fix it he just took it off and took it with him. I was told I could still open the door using my fingertips. The vacuum cleaner did not have a filter, so it was not usable. It just blew dust around the room. Three requests over three weeks to address this issue still left us without a usable vacuum cleaner. A bench had a loose leg. A potential hazard to the point we could not use the bench. I was told he would take the weak leg under advisement. After two months, the wobbly leg had not been corrected. The lack of desire or ability to address maintenance issues in a timely manner does not place Emerald Coast in a very positive light. Thank you.A 5 to general condition, a 4 to cleanliness, 4 to location, 55 to the property management, and a "0" to maintenance.

Even though the weather isn’t as warm as farther south, it doesn’t get as hot either during February and March. The prices are much more affordable and although it can be a busy area, it’s nothing like some other areas. I would highly recommend you try it out.

There is no ice maker, only ice cube trays! None of the negatives would deter us from booking this property again! We had a great time!

We had a wonderful time and our condo was very nice but the balcony was terrific. The beds were very comfortable. The condo needs to fix the ice maker. Bag of ice was a little pricey. We would stay there again.

Unit Feedback:The unit was clean, and the online photos matched the in-person appearance. However, renters who prefer firm furniture should know that the couch and all three mattresses are very soft. The bath towels are thin and should be replaced with new ones.Community Feedback:Although Tropic Winds advertises a non-smoking environment, we frequently smelled marijuana from our balcony. The lessor first advised we take a photo of the smoker and report it to the HOA, but expecting us to lean out over a 14th-floor balcony to identify the source is just not safe. Sadly, the near-constant smoke ruined one of our favorite parts of staying at the beach: simply sitting on the balcony to enjoy the view and fresh air.Know that wristbands are strictly enforced—even when walking straight from your car to the elevator. They are uncomfortable and unattractive, but staff insist on checking them.Overall:Judging by the smell of pot and the wristband enforcement, I have to conclude Tropic Winds' HOA is contending with a minority of condo owners or property managers who have cheapened the experience, renting to anyone without any reasonable oversight. I feel for the owners of our unit, as I'm sure this isn't what they signed up for.

Overall it’s an okay room. I did think we paid more than we should have for it due to it not being super nice. The lock on the actual door is non existent and the only thing that you can lock from the inside on the door is the chain; so I wasn’t too happy about that due to our kids sleeping in the bedroom next to the door but we managed. The room was clean but I personally think it could’ve been a little nicer considering people are typically going to pay close to $2,000 for a week stay. We could never get the tv in the master bedroom to turn on and the lamps in both bedrooms are more like college dorm lamps… like I said it could’ve been nicer. Don’t expect to have a family movie night if you have more then 4 people because all there is the one long couch and a single seat. We were thankful the room had Netflix and Hulu for our kiddos. We had a great stay but if I was the owner I would probably sprouze the room up a bit and make it just a little nicer but it worked fine for our week stay.

The home is always super clean if you have any issues they are there with in a few minutes at your service. I have stayed there 4 or 5 times and it is the same great service every time. Looking for a home away from home this is it. I wouldn't change a thing except to be able to stay longer.

We had a commode that ran constantly. I called the maintenance number and each time they transferred me it would hang up. After a couple of days

The week started out poorly as my group of four had rented another place in Panama City. It was terrible so we were scrambling for somewhere else to stay. I called and spoke with Meghann. She was so helpful and kind regarding our situation. She even texted me when the previous occupants left so I could get an earlier start on saving my vacation. The condo was beautiful with a large, open, clean, beautiful home to make lasting beach memories. It was so impressive to move from the mess we had booked into the bright relaxing space in Tropic Winds. The process was wonderful in terms of check in and check out and I was extremely impressed with the condo and the property. Thank you so much for saving our vacation and we can't wait to come back!!

This condo was Fantastic from the time we walked thru the door. The unit was exactly, if not better than advertised. The kitchen was very well stocked. The deck was so large. We spend every morning there having coffee and looking for dolphins and pelicans. It’s conveniently located to shopping and restaurants. Can’t wait to come back.
