Nice small hotel with a swimming pool, bar and reataurant. Friendly staff and excellent food served. Only drawback is their wi-fi coverage not extending to my room (#32) at the very rear and top floor of the hotel.

Ok hotel . Great location. Parking worked well. Nice bar. Only one breakfast price made for an expensive option if you wanted something light - eg scrambled eggs on toast. Shower - poor, both water pressure and temperature rubbish, and when asked pretty much told that’s how it is in our room. TV use too complicated ! Pleasant enough stay but unlikely to return.

A lovely place. We were lucky to have the place to ourselves. Hot tub and sauna readily available. 5 min walk to Shanklin beach. Would like to have access to bar/ drinks/ light bites all day would be a bonus.

Owners have done a beautiful work on renovating the place, chick style with lovely furniture in the lobby, dining area, corridors and the garden, loved it. Premises have got a small bar/lounge service with a good range of non-alcoholic proper drinks (pop-in even if you are staying in the surrounding places). Friendly staff. I was excited about the Sauna (being a Finn), and first a bit disappointed as it was a infrared Sauna - but it turned to be a positive experience, despite missing a stove to splash water on ;). I enjoyed the quietness and the seafront is just a short walk away. Breakfast: traditional, served to the table, small buffet with fresh veggies, juices and serials quite simple but fills your belly. Our room was small (but hey, we only slept there), it did not have air conditioner, so that was a bit of a minus but we survived with the table fan. Give it a go, enjoy your stay ☀️

Had a relaxing stay, fabulous breakfast even though it was extremely busy at the hotel on the Sunday. Family run hotel with mum, dad and daughters working extremely hard as it was a hot weekend so they were very busy. Swimming pool area and outside bar area was a godsend and although hotel full you could always find a lounger or chair to put your feet up on.

Good location. Old part of the property appeared very nice, new part of the building not so. Completion of work still needed. Bar area nice. Breakfast was ok. Some days only one member of staff on duty which made service slow. Fruit juice and milk for cereals often running out and having to wait a while for refills, especially when only 1 staff member on duty. Food good when it eventually arrived. Room was on the smaller side although it didnt help that there was a huge TV in the room... too big for the room, dated TV. No doors on wardrobe. Poorly fitted carpet. Comfy bed with nice linen. Bin wasn't emptied everyday or tea/coffee and milk replenished. Shower over the bath was more a trickle than a shower, there's saving water, but it was ridiculous!!! Toilet seat moved around . We returned to the room one day to a bathroom sink filled with water and bleach and tap dripping slowly, water level almost to the top, potential of a flooded bathroom if we had not arrived back when we had. No bin or anywhere to dispose of sanitary waste. Staff were friendly. Outside was nice with a heated swimming pool. Having work done on the sauna during our stay, which was noisy at times.

Average hotel whose better days are behind it. Good value for money though. Very disappointed to be told upon returning from an evening out that the bar was holding a private party so we were not allowed entry despite it being virtually empty.

Fantastic little hotel. Fresh, clean and cosy interior. I was the only one staying in the hotel but the staff couldn't have been anymore friendly. Out of the 30+ hotels I've stayed at this year, this is by far the best nights sleep I've had out of them all. 10/10

Do Not Book. Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. We were given a room that looked nothing like the pictures, and told there was no other rooms available and that other guests had been given priority of room because of how advance their booking was. Our booking was made 3 weeks prior so I wouldn’t have classes us as last minute. There was MOLD all around the windows in the bathroom and we were lied to that it was “grit” until the cleaner apologised that it was infact mold and was under the seal of the window. The shower pressure was a dribble so that was shocking. The reception girls were not only patronising but extremely unhelpful and u professional. I had to wait more than 30 minutes to try and speak to someone senior in charge as my request to move room was not taken seriously and when they eventually did show us a different room it was still outdated and not much difference from room 1. We were never refunded for our first nights stay however we were for our second night as we asked to leave the hotel and we found somewhere else to stay. This hotel was dirty, and didn’t make you feel at home. So disappointing and if I had not pushed for the situation to be handled we would have gotten nowhere. Do better.

The hotel was lovely, very modern, gorgeous décor and impeccably clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Great location in Shanklin, only a street away from the lift which takes you down onto the beach and only a short walk to restaurants, gift shops and the local convenience shop. I would recommend the Q Hotel if you are planning on visiting Shanklin :-)

On first sight everything looked great. Funky interior in seating area near bar etc. Our room however was not up to scratch. Leftover hairs in the corners of the bathroom. Headboard and lamps not been Hoovered or dusted. Spray from other people's toothbrush not been cleaned on walls near sink. I told housekeeping and they did come to rectify however not the toothpaste spray or to my overall satisfaction. There was also a long hair wrapped in the toast holder at breakfast.

Friendliness of team, well managed and nothing too much trouble. We paid for the upgraded room and it was very comfortable, quiet and a sea view, well worth it. Sometimes hot water in the shower was an issue but had a bath instead. Dining room and bar area very modern and a lovely place to eat breakfast and sit and chat.

This hotel has very nice staff. Our room was a standard double and the window looked onto the car park. The bathroom very outdated and toilet didn’t flush well. The room had a bay window and the curtain pole was inside the bay which meant there there was a good gap each end as the curtains hung wrongly inside the bay meaning anyone could see in from outside. No bedside table to the left of the bed to put a drink/phone etc. tv in the room was far too big for the size of the room, wasn’t happy for what I had paid so asked to change room. A smaller room was found, which was clean but the sink was in the bedroom with another cinema size tv and a screen to shield the sink? The actual bathroom had a dated toilet so when you flushed it the plastic lid fell off. The shower was one of the worst I’ve seen in a hotel room, and certainly not one of the cleanest either. Both rooms were very drab and gloomy, the bed was comfy. The hotel seems to have had a makeover as there were pictures on the landing floor waiting to be hung and paint over the carpets. I’ve never stated in a hotel that did not have emergency evacuation route on the room door? This is something that shd be addressed, and extension leads for plugs were very poor quality and more plug sockets needed. I felt this room was extremely overpriced for the 3 nights we were there.

A very nice weekend getaway. This hotel is well located, has very friendly staff and is well kept. Clean rooms and a very good breakfast. Also the pool is nice. The only minus was having our stay during a very hot weekend and having a room at the rear side of the hotel facing evening sun - no air conditioning… we still slept well!

We had a pleasant stay. Bit disappointed with our room. Had booked a superior double room but it was very small and dominated by an extremely large unnecessary TV. Apparently it was classed superior as you could see the pool from the window. However, the staff were all very nice and friendly and very happy to help in any way. The breakfast was very good and my meal in the restaurant very nice.

We stayed 3 nights over the Festival weekend. Easy to get to on public transport from London. Reasonably priced with great modern features in a classic building. The pool view room was comfortable and spacious enough but prepare to hear the pool users by 9am. We even heard people speaking in the rooms near us at 5am which woke us up as we’re light sleepers. Breakfast was great although finishes a bit early (10am). Great bar and lovely outdoor space with relaxing music to enjoy your drinks. We never had dinner at the hotel but I’m sure it was comparable with surrounding restaurants nearby. One downside about pool view room was the shower. The bathtub is next to the window and there was no shower door so to not get water everywhere it was best to shower sitting in the bath tub. Far from ideal. Overall we enjoyed our stay but would ask for a room with proper shower cubicle or shower door on the bath next time.

The bathtub is next to the window and there was no shower door so to not get water everywhere it was best to shower sitting in the bath tub. Far from ideal. Overall we enjoyed our stay but would ask for a room with proper shower cubicle or shower door on the bath next time.

Our stay at the Q overall was lovely. The hotel its self is of a high standard. The decor is amazing and the breakfast is banging. My only gripe would be the room. It was very small and there wasn’t a lot of room to move around. The free standing tele is so big, it takes up to much room. The basin was in the bedroom. The shower was very small. I think more attention needs to be put into the rooms to give more space to customers. Probably, easier said than done in an old building. But, saying that we would stay again. Friendliness of team, well managed and nothing too much trouble. We paid for the upgraded room and it was very comfortable, quiet and a sea view, well worth it. Sometimes hot water in the shower was an issue but had a bath instead. Dining room and bar area very modern and a lovely place to eat breakfast and sit and chat.

From the moment we checked into the hotel the staff could not have been any friendlier and this was shared between all the staff from the kitchen staff to the ladies cleaning the rooms to the bar staff and to the owners nothing was a problem everybody was so helpful. the only downside of the room we where in was there is not a lot of room for any cases if like us you were staying for days we had to empty the cases and put them back into the car until we were leaving. the breakfast was excellent with plenty of options and all freshly cooked to a high standard. so a big well done to owners Sam and Simon.

Do Not Book. Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. We were given a room that looked nothing like the pictures, and told there was no other rooms available and that other guests had been given priority of room because of how advance their booking was. Our booking was made 3 weeks prior so I wouldn’t have classes us as last minute. There was MOLD all around the windows in the bathroom and we were lied to that it was “grit” until the cleaner apologised that it was infact mold and was under the seal of the window. The shower pressure was a dribble so that was shocking. The reception girls were not only patronising but extremely unhelpful and u professional. I had to wait more than 30 minutes to try and speak to someone senior in charge as my request to move room was not taken seriously and when they eventually did show us a different room it was still outdated and not much difference from room 1. We were never refunded for our first nights stay however we were for our second night as we asked to leave the hotel and we found somewhere else to stay. This hotel was dirty, and didn’t make you feel at home. So disappointing and if I had not pushed for the situation to be handled we would have gotten nowhere. Do better.

Had a relaxing stay, fabulous breakfast even though it was extremely busy at the hotel on the Sunday. Family run hotel with mum, dad and daughters working extremely hard as it was a hot weekend so they were very busy. Swimming pool area and outside bar area was a godsend and although hotel full you could always find a lounger or chair to put your feet up on.

Good location. Old part of the property appeared very nice, new part of the building not so. Completion of work still needed. Bar area nice. Breakfast was ok. Some days only one member of staff on duty which made service slow. Fruit juice and milk for cereals often running out and having to wait a while for refills, especially when only 1 staff member on duty. Food good when it eventually arrived. Room was on the smaller side although it didnt help that there was a huge TV in the room... too big for the room, dated TV. No doors on wardrobe. Poorly fitted carpet. Comfy bed with nice linen. Bin wasn't emptied everyday or tea/coffee and milk replenished. Shower over the bath was more a trickle than a shower, there's saving water, but it was ridiculous!!! Toilet seat moved around . We returned to the room one day to a bathroom sink filled with water and bleach and tap dripping slowly, water level almost to the top, potential of a flooded bathroom if we had not arrived back when we had. No bin or anywhere to dispose of sanitary waste. Staff were friendly. Outside was nice with a heated swimming pool. Having work done on the sauna during our stay, which was noisy at times.

A very nice weekend getaway. This hotel is well located, has very friendly staff and is well kept. Clean rooms and a very good breakfast. Also the pool is nice. The only minus was having our stay during a very hot weekend and having a room at the rear side of the hotel facing evening sun - no air conditioning… we still slept well!

The hotel was lovely, very modern, gorgeous décor and impeccably clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Great location in Shanklin, only a street away from the lift which takes you down onto the beach and only a short walk to restaurants, gift shops and the local convenience shop. I would recommend the Q Hotel if you are planning on visiting Shanklin :-)

Very nice area and clean an modern hotel staff are very helpful and welcoming ... only downfall was the restaurant was closed when it wasnt stated prior it will be. Otherwise breakfast was really nice... comfy and clean rooms but very surprised to see the bathroom sink out in the bedrooms and even that wasnt stated anywhere on the hotel page when booking and that was something i know i didnt like about the room. Otherwise its a beautiful hotel. The hot tub an sauna was really nice but take note the hot tub is outside on the deck but in a private area. Overall definitely recommended

Our stay at this hidden gem was fantastic. The hosts were warm, welcoming and accommodating. We enjoyed swimming in the heated outdoor pool and having dinner at the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious. We loved interior design and decor, the prints were really great and unique. We had a pleasant stay. Bit disappointed with our room. Had booked a superior double room but it was very small and dominated by an extremely large unnecessary TV. Apparently it was classed superior as you could see the pool from the window. However, the staff were all very nice and friendly and very happy to help in any way. The breakfast was very good and my meal in the restaurant very nice.

Vi hadde et fint opphold på hotellet. De fleste ansatte var veldig hyggelige, noen kunne gitt litt mer av seg selv. God frokost. Vi savnet heis, da vi hadde veldig tung bagasje pga 2 uker i England. Litt ubehagelig med alle store og små hunder som ikke var i band og fikk gå fritt på både inne- og uteområdet. Vi reagerte også på å bli vekket kl.08.00 av en familie i bassenget selv om infoen på hotellet var at bassenget åpnet kl.09.00.

Stayed for a week whilst at the IOW festival with the wife. Fantastic check in experience with Ewan (think that was his name). Guy couldn't do enough to help but was rather embarrassed that the room had not been made into a double from a twin so had to call house-keeping to come back to hotel and resolve, this was at 4pm ish. Room was small and rather dysfunctional, side lamps and TV didn't work. En-suite so tiny you couldn't really get yourself ready in there. Shower is a strong term to use, more of a trickle with temps inconsistent. It was a step up from camping at the festival however. I'm guessing they are only just coming into proper season as the jacuzzi and pool needed a good clean. A distinct lack of the bosses about. The family that run it are very pleasant but absent in general once breakfast has been dealt with. What a breakfast though, stunning plate full of quality food to set you up for the day. Location is brilliant just 5 mins walk to the beach, town, Shanklin Chine etc. Price of a pint went up from £6 to £6.50 during my stay which seemed a bit weird. Clearly some money needs spending on the hotel and, as a business owner myself, the managers need to be about more to make it work as the staff are effectively being left to firefight which is not ideal.
