Baymont by Wyndham Lubbock - Downtown Civic Center

The room was nasty smelling with broken glass in the carpet. Guys were casing out our car the whole time. We left and found another place to stay.

Room smelled damp, toilet didn't work properly and shower dripped all night. There was a hole in the wall and the lights for the sink weren't working properly. The pool was closed which should have been mentioned and staff was terrible. All in all I would not recommend staying.

We did not stay we went from the room back to the front desk to get a refund. There is trash overflowing the bins outside. The stairs and porches are grimy. The room had graffiti on the lamp shade, holes in the drywall and no towels or washcloths, one pillow per bed.

The first room they offered us had a broken exterior door handle, so we requested a different room. The second room they offered us had a missing safety latch, no deadbolt, the bathroom door latch was broken, the TV was pulled off the wall, the room was overall dirty, but it also hadn't been cleaned (unmade bed, etc.) We did not feel safe staying and so requested a refund and scrambled to find somewhere else to stay for the night. The pictures are misleading. FYI, the pool is permanently closed and the entire property is run down.

Checked in at the desk. Walked to our room. Several broken down cars in the parking lot. Got in the room and immediately greeted by dead bugs throughout the room and the smell of smoke. Closed the door to see the battery back of the door falling out. Sheets and blankets were stained. Carpet was ripped up and baseboards were falling off the wall. Long hairs on the toilet. Avoid this place at all costs.

The toilet didn’t flush. Tub wouldn’t drain. We thought our car would be stolen. We left and went to a different part of town!

First stay in Lubbock. We were given a room that was already occupied. The 2nd room was unoccupied when we arrived. The parking lot lights lit the area like daytime, all, night, long. There were a number of unsavory types milling around, so the lighting was probably needed. We gathered from the chat at Denny's the hotel had recently changed names/owners. This place seems like a work in progress, best to avoid for now, stay at your own risk.

Upon arriving to the Baymont my wife and I immediately noticed the unkept grounds and the dirty, unswept entry to the motel lobby. We asked to see our room. Upon entering my wife noticed that a large section of the wall paint, texturing, and drywall had sluffed off the wall exposing a large area of green and black mold. We were shocked and appalled. We turned on our heels and went back to the front desk to cancel our reservation. The managers would not listen to our complaint, saying "You made the reservation, you have to pay for the two night stay." I tried negotiating but the managers would have none of it. They charged our credit card the full amount. We located another motel in the same general area. The manager said he gets many people telling of a similar experience. So it appears as though the Baymont managers have a little scam going on here. They misrepresent the motel on Hotels.com, starting with the picture of the motel building, and grounds, rooms, pool, etc. (the pool was closed with no notice on Hotels.com). Then folks like us make a reservation... The rest is history. No maid service is required, no clean bedding or continental breakfasts are needed. The people leave and the managers charge their credit card. Done deal. Don't fall for it. Run in the other direction. We got stung. My wife and I won't be using Hotels.com any more either.

Staff over booked the king size bed rooms. The room had no trash cans. The room was dirty. I called several times to ask about the pool and make sure it was open, which they said it was but once we arrived the pool had been closed for quite some time

The room upon entering was filled with the stench of cigarette smoke. Bed sheets had stains. Mold in the bathroom, bugs on wall behind TV and in the sink. The coffee packages were nice unfortunately no coffee maker. Very disappointing stay. Took photos but won't let me upload.

This place is a disgrace to even be called a hotel. This place was filthy. The first room I went into they were dead flies in the bed. It smelt like it had never been cleaned or disinfected. As I walked into the bathroom, there was a wet dirty rag in the middle of the floor. The bathroom sink was full of dead insects and a used cup was sitting on the sink. I went up to the front desk and told them that this room was not acceptable very politely and he apologized and gave me a different room on the other side of the complex. As I drove over there, it seemed like no one was staying there. As I walked up to the room, I noticed one door look like it had been kicked in. another door was open, but I think someone was inside. As I walked in that room, it smelt worse than the first one. Went into the bathroom and it was dirty just as well. The beds were made, but it looked like no one had stayed in his room for a while. I went back to the front desk and told him that this isn’t gonna work that I had a son who could not sleep in these conditions due to a breathing issue. The hotel front desk gave me a refund. I contacted hotels.com about the issue. I have not heard back on a refund yet, but if I don’t, I will be contacting my bank. I would stay away from this place as it’s probably the worst experience I’ve ever had with a hotel.

Dirty, roaches

This hotel was extremely unclean and unsafe. The door to the room, while would successfully shut, the doorhandle was severely dameaged. The microwave was filthy. The vent in the bathroom had no cover. There was no remote for tthe TV, when I asked for one it was not delivered until the following day when I asked a second time. I was unable to upload photos.

The absolute worst room I’ve ever stayed in. Not only was it not clean, and in disrepair but it smelled like something died in it. I only gave one star because zero wasn’t an option.

Everything was dirty and cockroaches were everywhere.

The room was not clean and there were dead bugs between the bedspread and sheet. I did not stay at this hotel.

Blood stains on sheets. Trash on the dresser. Human waste in and on the toilet.

My room was supposedly not available. I just took any available room. It was dirty with blood stains. Luckily we weren’t in the room except for the 5 hours we tried to sleep and eventually left.

There was bed bugs, the stairs and the 2nd floor/railings were unstable, got moved to a different room and the tv didn’t work, light fixtures didn’t work, nails and wires everywhere, no trash can in sight.. it wasn’t safe for my family or anyone elses

There was no lock on the bathroom door it was previously broken in to, the shower was dirty and broken, the fron door was semi broken, a lot of cigerste stains or burns on the bathtub, the sheets, the blankets. The mini fridge smelled really bad, the room smelled like cigarette smoke. The tv was broken and had to replace it more than once The front office is really nice and well kept and smells clean but the rooms were not well kept.

People were nice. Door handle didn’t work like it should. Got a red light when card passed over to get in but this was normal. No hair dryer, no coffee, closet door broken and missing. Wall had punch hole. But we slept and the area was quiet.

Rooms were subpar in almost every regard. The first room had the AC unit taken apart and scattered around the room at the time of check-in, the second room smelled horribly of cigarettes, and the third room didn't have a functional TV or interior lights. Shower and bathroom were not cleaned very well, and the furniture in the room was stained. Wouldn't recommend staying here at all.

Front desk checkin was good. Really friendly and helpful BUT room was on backside of hotel which DEFINITELY needs some work (dirty, paint peeling). Room was ok but still needed a good cleaning. Rust in bathtub and first blast of water was rust colored!

Check in room key did not work went down front desk worker came eith us to unlock door but left us without working key. Only sheets on bed and 1 pillow per bed. Toilet lid was off and toilet was running. Door didnt not have extra lock and door was filthy like someone through a soda at it. Tv did not work. Shady people hanging out in parking lot. Went to front desk to request another room gave us a key that didnt work. Requested refund he obliged buthasnt hit my credit card yet. I wasnt expecting the Ritz Carlton but expect clean and safe room. We got neither so we left.

The tv did not work, we asked to be moved. The front desk person said he will look at it. We waited a hour he never came. Went back for the front desk and he said he was busy… at that point another front desk guy gave us another room. The new room the heater did not work and it was freezing rain outside. I want a refund!

This is an older hotel, so keep that in mind when you come on the property. The staff is absolutely wonderful especially the manager. They really try to help solve your problems that come up while you’re staying there. There is a Walmart across the street for your convenience. I absolutely do not recommend dining at the Denny’s that’s in the parking lot.

I was given 3 rooms before they just gave up and gave me a refund. The staff were great tried hard to make it work. But the rooms were damaged each in their own way. The staff tried but management needs to do something

Front desk clerk screamed at wife telling her to leave because she asked for the room that was reserved when he gave her a different one. She left and went to another hotel. She had to call the police to meet her back at Baymont to get her drivers license because he wouldn’t give it back when asked for it before she left. Very frightened of the man. The police said they were very aware of that hotel and they had problems there frequently.

It took us almost 4 hours to get towels for our room then we had to ask for a blanket cause room had sheets only had to change room because first room was hot ac didn't work and had two dead roaches in it second room was better we had 4 people only gave two towels and 2 wash rags and one blanket for room thank God we had blanket in car with us. Afternoon manager was nice at first but after having to wait 4 hours for our towels we got upset and husband stormed out of office hitting the door hard when opening it and got accused of kicking it open. Manger then got rude with us because we complained about not having towels for almost 4 hours. Then when I went to get everyone breakfast I was questioned about why I was in breakfast area several times I said everyone is asleep and I'm getting them food before you stop serving. The only nice person here was head housekeeper. We will never stay here again.

The property was 10/15 minutes away from the Lubbock Airport. The area was safe, there was a walmart, burger King and Dutch bros across the street. The only issues that made me give 3 stars is the inside of my door was missing a cover and the mechanism for the door was exposed, i just didn't feel safe. I didn't want to change rooms because i had already done so when the first room was not ready.

This was one of the worst motels I've ever stayed at. Absolutely filthy floors and bathroom. Reeked of mold and cigarettes. Roaches everywhere!! Broken door lock, squishy water damaged walls. It was an absolute nightmare. This place needs to be shut down. There is no way this property is up to code on anything. Oh and AC didn't work

When we arrived at this property I was told by the person behind the counter that there was only 1 room left. I went to the room, opened the door and the room was occupied. Not by a few belongings, but like a family was living there. My wife was very scared at this point. I went back to the front desk and the attendant told me that whoever checked out must not have taken their stuff. I then asked how this was not discovered when the room was cleaned? He did not have an answer because obviously it was not cleaned. There were homeless people all over this property. Some of them were looking for food in the garbage cans in the front of this motel. At this point there was no way we were going to stay at this location even though this was the week before school started and rooms anywhere were very hard to find. I have never seen a worse hotel/motel experience in my life so we left.

Do NOT stay at this establishment. Sketchy, scary, and overall uncomfortable from the moment we pulled into the parking lot. We ended up canceling our reservation and moving to a safer location.

Do NOT stay in this hotel! We had concerns about the place the minute we stepped into the lobby, and became even more concerned after going to our room. The first light after entering the room didn’t work. The two lights between the beds were bare bulbs (no shades) and one didn’t work. The lamp on a small table next to the wall wasn’t plugged in. When I plugged it in, sparks flew. The bedcovers had holes in them and one cover had what looked like “skid marks” on it. The room itself was dirty. There were homeless people directly across the parking lot from our room. We felt like we were in an unsafe environment and risked danger to ourselves as well as theft and damage to our car. When my husband went back to the lobby to let them know we wouldn’t be staying there, there was a woman “shooting up” in the hallway. This hotel was the only one we could find in Lubbock for the night as there was a football game going on. The charge for the night was $186! We’ve stayed in many, many hotels and this was the worst one we’ve ever seen! It was so bad we drove 100 extra miles to find another place. If you value your life and your property, please don’t stay here!

I did not stay. I never checked in. The area was VERY scary. Very suspicious! If I could have cancelled my stay I would have but I was not able to do so. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Picture's on the internet did not match what we encountered. Did not feel safe having my family around questionable individuals just hanging around the area walking around. I went down the road to another establishment that was more secure and safe

For the price it was ideal to spend a night with the family on the road trip. Well, the room condition was not good, it is certainly not a place to enjoy staying at. But the pillows, the mattress were so comfortable and the a/c heater unit and fridge were so low noise that even expensive hotels cannot win. I give it 5 of 5 for the sleep quality. The breakfast was good. Check in/out pretty prompt.

The staff members were helpful and the room was clean. I would stay here again. The sink light would turn off after about 10 minutes. The last day there were no waffles available to make but at least there were other options available.

Roches, the bathroom was dirty, there was a smelly carpet, the smoke detector was missing, the TV was not working, smelly towels, the pillows were sofa cushions, and there was no coffee maker. Breadfast only had two choices, no hangers in the closet. The bed was comfortable, and they will allow your pet.

This is the cheapest hotel on hotels.com in Lubbock. Absolutely you get what you pay for. There were things the room did not have in it like towels and blankets. Once I asked for them, they were more than happy to supply them, and they were very nice about it. Unfortunately our TV did not work. They spent over an hour trying to make her TV work and there’s probably something wrong in the wall. I was very satisfied with how hard they worked. Keeping in mind it’s a lower rent hotel, I was very happy with it. The breakfast was basic, but it was served from 715 to 9 o’clock. The hotel manager is very polite nice young man .

Property is dirty we clean our own room not enough towels no wash clothes. Breakfast is horrible. I am a customer service expert. 0 for customer service.

I paid $40 per night for a room at the Baymont Inn by Wyndham. The bed was comfortable, and I slept well...but that is about the only positive thing I can say. Here were the problems with my room: 1. The room lighting is too dim. 2. The door had a replacement lock, a blocked peephole and no deadbolt. It had obviously been kicked in before. 3. The tub could not be used. Only the shower worked. 4. The water was not hot enough. 5. The toilet ran constantly and made a leaking noise. 6. The undermount sink came loose and fell one inch beneath the vanity. Needs fixing or replacement. 7. There were no hangers in the closet. 8. There was no trash can in the room. 9. There were no tissues in the room. 10. The closet door needs repair. 11. There was no iron in the room. 12. The TV did not work. 13. The TV remote had no batteries and was unusable. 14. The continental breakfast was sparce. The breakfast area was not inviting. I went for breakfast elsewhere. 15. The parking lot needs to be repaved. 16. The area seems unsecure, especially at night, but it was quiet outside of my room. 17. The place seems poor and rundown. It needs a facelift...BADLY. 18. I had to have a new room key each 24-hour period of my stay. Inconvenient! The office staff were nice / helpful. The above problems were NOT their fault. I am left to wonder if Wyndham Hotels/Baymont is aware of the problems of this facility. It is NOT UP TO BAYMONT STANDARDS. At $40 per night, I suppose to receive what you pay for!

When we arrived in the room, the bed was not finished and the towels were not clean. The breakfast was only sweets, apples, coffee and juice. Would have liked some protein and hot tea bags.
