Hotel was clean, quiet. Kids loves the hot tub! They listed it as a pool but definitely a hot tub. Only complaint is the hair dryer plug was messed up so it didn't work well but I informed them of this at checkout. Desk staff were very polite and helpful.

Property was right on main street which is very convenient to restaurants and shops and ferry terminals . This also makes the area busy though so if you like very quiet I would choose an area to stay away from the crowds on main street instead . The room was very nice and staff was amazing . Spa / pool was not working properly so we didnt get to use it which was a disappointment for us . I would suggest calling ahead when making reservations to confirm it is working if this is a major thing for you but the private sun deck is a nice getaway.

Older but full of charm. Clean, comfortable and friendly staff. Suprisingly with how many rooms i walked past to get to mine i didnt hear much at all in the hall. The halls are a bit narrow heads up. They have a hot tub on the second floor that is outside. Unique flavored fudges in the lobby,and a restraunt that you can purchase breakfast and lunch at. A pleasent stay and looking forward to staying here again.

The Murray is perfect in almost every way. It’s centrally located in town steps away from shopping, restaurants and the fort! We didn’t eat in the restaurant but it smelled good. We loved the 24 hour, complimentary coffee, tea and hot cocoa. My daughter especially loved the hot cocoa. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. The blanket was cozy. We relaxed on the sun deck and it was lovely. The pool/hot tub was very relaxing after a long day of horseback riding. My daughter and I loved the rocky road fudge, especially. Finally, the price is the most economical I could find especially for the value of the accommodation. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you for hosting us.

We stayed overnight on the island. This was a quaint hotel on the main road. The hot tub was lovely and the complimentary hot drinks were nice on a blustery spring day. The luggage service was especially helpful getting to and from the ferry.

The price was excellent, and the location excellent as well. It was not clean though. there were dead bugs and webs all over the bottom of one window. But the beds were god, and as I said, the price was good for Mackinac Island.

The Murray Hotel is an old hotel. The hotel staff was EXCELLENT but the hotel itself needs some updates and some deep cleaning. We had a Spiderweb over our bed that had been there for sometime. The Fudge was awesome!

Well cared for hotel with amazingly friendly staff. Room was immaculate and beds were super comfortable. Right across from the ferry dock, so we didn't have to cart our luggage around.

The room location was perfect! View of the lake and while there a cruise ship.docked which was an added bonus. I loved the Victorian decor. Everything was clean and well-maintained. Would definitely recommend!

The toilet in my room was disgusting. There was dried poop on the toilet lid. My friends room, which I booked for her had spiders, she got bit by one. Other than that location was good, fudge was great. Really was the creamiest on the island.

Room was small but beautiful. Hard to find room for two suitcases. Main problem that it faced east and only had shutters on the window so early morning sun woke us before dawn. Would have liked curtains to put over blinds.

Our room clearly had a balcony once, overlooking Main St, but the door was replaced with floor-to-ceiling windows at some point. A shame...that would've been an awesome amenity. I only had 2 real complaints with the room which downgraded my review from 5 to 4 stars: tiny tissue paper thin bath towels (think Days Inn circa 1972) and a VERY dim reading lamp on only ONE side of the bed. Otherwise, the room was lovely and the hotel is in a great location - directly opposite the ferry docks. Great for people watching which is why the balcony would've been such an asset.

While booking was lied to by the front desk only to allow a couple to do the exact thing I was trying to do over the phone. Rooms need updated severely. Should have just stayed in the city for the price of what we were getting. We would have been better sleeping in the chairs in the room that were provided instead of the bed. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Looks like they spend the money on the hot tub instead of updating.

The hotel was nice. But we had no luggage racks in the room, our room was small. We felt crowded. We could not get our devices on the WiFi. The small amenities that we take for granted were missing. The staff and luggage porter were great. They have a nice hot tub that we were not able to use. The Mexican restaurant in the lobby, where we ate twice, was good but sort of filled the entire hotel with the smell of food. Overall, ok. We probably would not stay there again.

The location is amazing. Its right on the main strip. Right across from the Star Line ferry drop off dock. We were on the third floor with a harbor view. It was gorgeous. It had a balcony, but you cant use it. That was disappointing. The in-hotel restaurant had great breakfast that is totally big enough to share. The service was amazing and the staff are very friendly. They even allowed us to check-in over two hours early.

This was our second time staying in the property. It is one of the more affordable and easy to access properties in the island, but the condition has declined too much. Our room smelled like mold and urine. The bed and the toilet were both slanted considerably to the right. Considering the price us still fairly high, I would rather spend another $100 a night to stay somewhere else.

We loved the classic decor, with an updated bathroom with a big tub. Close to the local market for anything we needed and the park because we are smokers. We didn't use the hot tub pool, but the area looked wonderful and not over-crowded. Walls are thin, but not too noisy with other's respect. We were located by the ice machine which is used 7am to 10pm, but we were okay with that. We enjoyed the hotel and its location!

I’ve stayed at the Murray before so I knew what to expect. What I DIDNT expect is to come home with bites all over my ankles and realize I also brought home fleas!!! Unfortunately I placed my suitcase on the floor & left it open. I hadn’t had a vacation in a long time, I was so excited and just didn’t think about it. I’ve never have had fleas even when I had animals. I had bomb/fog the entire house and then clean and wash everything. Fun times after vaca. And hope I don’t see more in a couple weeks to do it all over again before the holidays. I’m still so grossed out. I paid a lot to stay overnight 3 nights & should not have this happen. Lots of dogs on the island now & most don’t look happy to be there. Barking echos through town. And I am a dog lover. Just so disappointed & my feet/ankles are still healing. I sent a message to them before doing a public review… crickets. Otherwise the location is excellent.. we didn’t spend time in the room anyway. Always out shopping, eating & riding.. guess they munched down while I was tired and sleeping. YUCK!!!

I can't imagine a better value (considering how high rooms can be on the island) for staying overnight on Mackinac Island. Getting bags through the ferry process could not have been better (we used Schepler) and the staff at the hotel were excellent to interact with. Loved the room, the location and the general ambiance and decor of the hotel. The pool deck was an unexpected surprise. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

The porter service to come get your luggage and bring it back to the ferry was awesome. The location of the hotel is great and the amenities were great. Comfortable beds and clean rooms. Definitely would stay again.

Murray Hotel is in the perfect part of town. Walkable to restaurants, shopping. It was cold and rainy so we didn’t have a chance to sit outside at the very nice patio.

The staff are all great. Free coffee and donuts was a nice surprise in the morning. The fudge and the burrito restaurant are really good. Easy walk from the ferry. Our bags were delivered to the hotel from the ferry and proceeded us there by 10 minutes. We would definitely stay again.

I enjoyed the Murray hotel. It was ideally located near all the attractions. The fudge was amazing. I love the free donut and coffee each morning. The staff was extremely friendly- and the room was lovely!

The room worked for what we needed however the over bearing smell of Mexican food ruined our visit. We woke up daily to the smell of food in our room which then transferred yo all of our clothing and outerwear. We smelled like onion and taco seasoning everywhere we went. Had we known there was a Burrito restaurant ,cooking all day everyday, in the lobby without proper ventilation we would have booked elsewhere. Image walking into a restaurant or shop smelling like pungent spices and onions. We had to leave our luggage in our garage to air out. It was extremely frustrating ro deal with! I attempted to speak with someone about our concerns, yet each time we attempted there wasn’t anyone available. For the price we paid, the experience was ridiculous. This was our first stay at the Murray Hotel and it will definitely be our last. FYI, we are avid travelers and very laid back. However the stigma we experienced impacted our trip and limited the number of places we felt comfortable visiting. We did not want to be those people that smelled terrible in the enclosed places. If you cannot handle smelling like cooked taco/burrito meat with onions, avoid the Murray at all costs. Not to mention the coat we incurred for the dry cleaning of our coats and a few sweaters. Big let down!!

We stayed at The Murray on a couples vacation. From the front desk staff to being incredibly friendly and informative to the cleanliness and details of the room. It’s an older hotel but very well maintained. The breakfast burritos are also a must! We cannot say enough good about this gem.
