Such a cute little motel! Refurbished throwback motel, well done, fresh & neat. We enjoyed our stay here. It is very clean, has cute outdoor seating areas to hang out, a pool, Superchargers onsite, easy freeway access, etc. Great stay!

Very clean and great remodel! Perfect stopover for visiting friends up north. You can tell that they really did a thoughtful remodel: fresh paint and simple touches. Pool and bowling alley are added benefits. You get 10% off the bowling alley, food and drinks.

Oh my goodness! This place is so cute, and such a solid stay. The bed was comfy, the little patio we had was so cute, the towels were soft and the vibe was just precious. Excellent service. Parking is free. Pool looks nice! Fun bar just down the way. Will absolutely stay here again.

This is the second time we have stayed here and we absolutely love it. Very clean, simple rooms. Cutely decorated and an incredibly lovely staff. They even take our fur babies. We will definitely be staying here again.

Staff was great, room very new and clean, and grounds manicures. Location very convenient. Check in time was limited from 3pm - 10pm. We had plans for the day during those hours. However, the manager on duty was very helpful in helping us get a room before 3pm. We really appreciated his help to accomodate our need.

Property was clean and convenient to many different food options. Staff was nice and helpful . I don't usually stay in motels because they are often dirty and seem like they charge by the hour. But this was probably the cleanest motel I have ever stayed in and surprisingly very quiet for a holiday weekend.

The amenities were really good. Each room has a microwave, small refrigerator, and coffee maker. The rooms are on the smaller side but uses every inch really efficiently. Freeway access couldn't be easier. Breakfast spots and coffee nearby. I would stay here again.

I loved nearly everything about this place it was quaint and cute. Had great quality though to the inside of the rooms. My only complaint is the size of the rooms it feels overly small and with 2 kids and a dog it was nice and packed but it was clean and well taken care of. I appreciated the retro modern styling it made my wife and I both smile. Staff was very friendly especially in the morning of our stay. I’m recommending this location to all my family who visits the area.

Very cute room with updated amenities and a private patio that leads out to a grassy common area. The inside of the room had cute retro items and decor; like red retro looking mini fridge, red microwave, retro cooler (for you to use while visiting the pool?), and retro lampshades by the bed. The bathroom was modern and attractive. Bed was comfortable and clean. Overall, better than the bigger chains we’ve stayed in.

This is by far one of the tidiest budget motels I have stayed in. The place seems to be recently renovated with thoughtful retro touches. The only tiny quirk I had was the highway noise since I'm a very light sleeper. But that's something very minor. Would definitely stay here again.

If not for the more than occasional very loud semi passing by on I-80, this would be a great place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room and bed, (paid for delux room) Next time, I may opt to pass on the convenience of the location for a place a bit further from the freeway.

For a short stay, the accommodations were great. But the walls were too thin. Our neighbors checked in after midnight and their conversing was too loud for us. Having light sleepers was in conflict with the loud talking. And having to get up in 5 hours was an effort in lost sleep even if the beds were comfy.

The hotel owner is very friendly and welcoming. The location is great and easy to get to. The room was tiny though. The bed mattress was a little soft for me. Still a nice property.

A very convenient and comfortable stay with great bed and pillows and excellent shower. I had the room with two queen beds as a solo and as its not a large room it had no easy chair. Could be a problem for some. Nice retro decor

My fiancée and I stayed at The Foothills Motel on our way to the Donner Memorial site. We chose this specific motel based on the fantastic reviews and the pictures on the website! We would definitely stay here again. Friendly staff and amazing ambience. I especially liked the colorful chairs outside of all the rooms and the hanging bulb lights lit up at night

Check in was fine once the person at the front desk returned from his lunch break..... Rooms were very clean albeit a bit smaller than expected. The windows work well to keep out most of the noise should you unfortunately, like us, have ridiculously rude neighbors who love to slam their door every time they went outside to smoke. Which was frequently :( Bed linen was clean and housekeeping was every other day. Pool was a nice extra as was the bowling alley next door for something to do. Bit pricey for what it is, but I guess you are paying for easy location.

When we first got to our room there was a strong smell of cigarettes. Fortunately the staff was able to move us into another room and all was well. Room was clean and compact, and the bed was very comfortable.

Nice motel. Clean and updated, safe area. Comfortable beds. We needed a quiet place to stay after a concert in Lincoln before we continued to our next stop, a wedding in Tahoe. Foothill fit the bill. Close to the freeway but quiet. Perfect place and reasonably priced.

Cool little motel! The pictures are accurate. Very clean and updated. Exactly what we wanted for a short little getaway to Auburn. My only caveat was they were right off the freeway (would have liked more trees) but its central location was great for sightseeing. A really nice Raley’s Market is close by if you need to grab some snacks.

Foothill is 5 mins drive away from town of Auburn and it is right beside the highway. Grocery store, Starbucks, gas station, and restaurants are within walking distance. Location is very convenient.

We booked Foothill for a white water rafting trip. It was great. Tons of channels on the TV. AC works well. Beds comfy. Quiet at night. There's an cheap and cheerful bowling alley a 5 min walk away. Coffee in room. No complaints at all.

Great find! Fun retro style but fully remodeled. Modern bathroom, mini fridge and microwave, Keurig machine, comfy beds. Front desk was super friendly. Enjoyed the bowling alley. Will definitely stay here again next time I pass through Auburn.

We had had a very stressful day and didn't leave Reno until 7:30 pm to avoid the snowstorm forecasted for that night and the next day. We arrived and were given a very quiet room with no guests staying on either side of us! The room is completely upgraded in a mid Century deco style with a red frigidaire and microwave oven. The brightly lit room and bathroom were such an improvement over old dimly lit rooms! The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the heater was very quiet. Glenn, the man at the front desk, was extremely friendly and gave us the history of the motel. We also recommend Nancy's Cafe for a reasonable, delicious breakfast and The Club Car for dinner. It offered a great variety of food and the ambiance and service were excellent!

Another great stay at the Foothills. I always get there late and I'm always greeted kindly and check in is easy. Since my last stay they added breakfast. A packaged pastry, banana and coffee of hot chocolate. It was nice bonus. The room is always clean, the bed is very comfortable and its quiet for a good night's sleep. Love the retro vibe and decor. The pool looks inviting, hoping I'll have time to enjoy it on my next stay. My wife and I have stayed at the Foothills five times now and always a great experience.

Very clean and great remodel! Perfect stopover for visiting friends up north. You can tell that they really did a thoughtful remodel: fresh paint and simple touches. Pool and bowling alley are added benefits. You get 10% off the bowling alley, food and drinks.

Great retro motel with many thoughtful touches. There's a bowling alley at the bottom of the hill -- we didn't make it this time but hopefully next time. It's nice to stay somewhere that's unique rather than a chain and still really clean.

This is a very nicely renovated and upgraded nostalgic mom and pop motel. A bit noisy being so close to the interstate, but very convenient access. The bowling alley next door was very cool and had a great bar and grill lounge! Shopping and restaurants options nearby was a big plus! Thumbs up!

Oh my goodness! This place is so cute, and such a solid stay. The bed was comfy, the little patio we had was so cute, the towels were soft and the vibe was just precious. Excellent service. Parking is free. Pool looks nice! Fun bar just down the way. Will absolutely stay here again.

Our check in went fairly quick as he filled us in on a few things in and around the motel. We were pleasantly surprised with our room. Tucked in the back and very clean. It’s been a long time since we’ve found comfortable beds and pillows but these were very comfortable! The bathroom had a wonderful light up mirror. Unfortunately the sink takes up the entire wall so it limits counter space. They do provide a small rolling cart underneath the sink. There is a kuerig provided but it was frustrating to get it to actually work. Wish they served breakfast but there are several choices in the area. We will definitely stay here next time we’re in town

Flashback to the 50s. Loved it. We had 6 rooms there; we were all happy campers. Enjoyed the evening sitting around the fire pits. Each building had multiple fire pits. The pool area was well kept.
