Jesmond Hotel

Great location near universities. Five minute walk to Tube which means easy access to the whole city. Hot breakfast! And a really cute and quiet courtyard! Will stay here again

The Jesmond is wonderful. I highly recommend it. Do be sure, however, to check which floor you are on. The top floor is 6 flights up and there is no elevator. Someone with limited mobility would not be able to stay on the top floor. That said, I loved my single room. It face the garden and was quiet at night. I was in London to do research at the British Library, which is a short walk (.6 miles).

The staff are great and the complimentary breakfast is terrific. This is an old historic building so the rooms are a bit tight and there is no elevator, however the staff are more than happy to assist with luggage.

The Jesmond is a nice place to stay and is conveniently located in an area with many shops, restaurants and access to public transportation. The daily breakfast was tasty and there were several options to choose. All the staff were helpful and pleasant. We shared a bathroom on the top floor. The bathroom and shower area were clean. The shower had ample hot water, although it drained slowly and overflowed a bit onto the floor. It would have been nice to have a clean hand towel daily in the shared toilet area, or a hand towel in the room in addition to the bath towel provided by the hotel. I would recommend the Jesmond to others and I would stay there again.

The hotel is conveniently located and is well maintained and very clean. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was excellent. I’d stay again. The only quibble is that there’s no lift but probably it would be difficult if not impossible to install one in a Georgian building of this type.

Hotel is one of several in this length of old building. The interior is attractive and there is a large garden in the back that’s very pleasant to visit. The room with two beds has two chairs, though they were so large the space was cramped. Even so, it was very comfortable. Price included full English breakfast that was great. Definitely will try to book for next visit.

The staff were all vey polite, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good. The Jesmond has a lovely secluded small oasis of a garden which guests can use. For me, its location was perfect being close to Euston station and easy walking distance of Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square etc; and being close to several underground stations on various lines. Yes, the room was small but it had everything I needed and the stay was very pleasant and good value for money, especially for London.

I booked well in advance based on the locale (Bloomsbury), positive reviews, and bargain pricing compared to other area hotels. My room was a twin bed single + ensuite. Compact. No room for a desk, chair, wardrobe or such if that's what you need, but was fine with me. Bathroom is small but ok, but the shower leaves no elbow room (it has one of those rain heads, but there's no escaping it in this skinny phonebooth, so you have to turn it off to wash and shampoo, then back on again to rinse). Considering the location, it was quieter than I expected -- even with the windows open, as Gower St isn't a major thoroughfare and has no bus service. Buses are a couple short blocks away, as is the Goodge Tube Station (the Russell Square station and big Euston hub are each a half-mile away). The British Museum is just a 5-minute walk down the street, the Dickens' Museum twice that, while Covent Garden, Piccadilly Circus, Soho, Carnaby St, Regents Park and more all within a 15-20 minute walk. A full English breakfast is included every morning, plus help yourself to a bowl of fresh fruit, cereals, coffee, tea, OJ, etc. That'll save you a good 15-20 quid or more per day otherwise. Wifi was fast, but there were a couple brief outages while I was there, probably their ISP to blame, so out of their hands. There is no elevator, but someone is available to lug your luggage up or down if need be. Also no A/C, although the house will provide a fan if needed. Stayed 5 nights, would so again.

Extremely noisy all night, didn't get any sleep, bright lights were shining into the room and we could'nt block out the light because the curtains were hanging off the track, the toilet was stained brown, and the brim of the toilet was stained yellow, the carpets were dirty, the bathroom door was broken with lumps of wood flaking off, I couldn't use the shower without washing my hair, the water went everywhere and flooded the bathroom, the whole hotel needs updating and cleaning. The garden was not looked after, and it wasn't pleasant to sit out there. Absolutely wouldn't recommend

Great family run hotel with very friendly and pleasant staff. Stayed for two nights in an excellent and immaculately clean double ensuite room with tea and coffee making facilities. Fantastic breakfast cannot fault and will definitely come back when visiting London again.

Staff are lovely and not bad for one night. The main area that could do with improvement is the bathroom. The shower head needs replacing. Room was clean

Service was terrible and room was dirty. I asked for fresh towels after 2 days and got no wash cloth and no hand towel. The shower drain was clogged. The fawcet was dripping.

Great B&B. Central location, very convenient to various tube lines. Helpful staff, great breakfast. Room was simple but spotlessly cleand and quite big for London standards. Overall very good value.

Friendly staff and clean room!

Great area. I had the single en-suite room, which was small but perfectly formed! Clean and tidy throughout. Shower wasn’t particularly powerful but was hot!

Staff was super hospitable and friendly. Great location! Beds could use new mattresses as well as the flooring. Clean towels and sheets though!!

This was our first visit to London, and we had a great stay at the Jesmond Hotel. The manager was very friendly and helpful, and served a tasty, made-to-order breakfast each morning. The hotel is conveniently located within a 10 minute walk of a tube station, sightseeing buses, a grocery, and the British Museum.

Great hotel in a central location near train stations but also very walkable. Included breakfast was really good and staff that I interacted with all provided great service.

Lovely property, check in was easy. They offer breakfast in the morning and it was fabulous. Highly recommend staying here, especially if you are on a budget

The English breakfast included with the Stay was very good as were the options to have other sides with the meal i.e; yogurt, fruit, cereal, Red and White Cheese, coffee, and tea etc. Well worth the fee.
