Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, staff friendly, grounds are clean and the town is cute. As negative as this review might sound, it's more of a fyi. We would stay again. What they don't tell you is that they are next to (well the whole town is) the railway and at nighttime it is very busy. We had our window open for air and for the most part it wasn't too bad. The rooms were clean but very dated and the fridge was horribly loud during the night. We were a door or two down from the hospitality suite. Horrible location if you want quiet. Yes our window was open but this room was by the stairs and hospitality door and you heard EVERYONE walking by. Forget trying to sleep in. It's like being next to the room by the elevator after the bar closes. The hospitality room in not handicapped accessible. You have to climb two flights of stairs to get to it. You also don't get any housekeeping while you are there. We stayed 3 nights and not once did anyone come in. Personally, we don't usually have housekeeping but for others this might be a big deal.

Very close to provincial park that has swimming and playground areas for families. Also they have a nice lounge area plus breakfast. My only frustration was that it wasn’t as quiet as I wanted cause there is a train that goes by there every hour just one block away. Definitely recommend this place to stay though.

This is our second stay at this family owned and run motel. Comfortable bed and good-size room. Good facilities. They not only have a better size fridge than a mini fridge that most hotels have, as well as a microwave, but they provide plates and cutlery. Their sign says it all, " You are not just a guest, you are our guest". That states their attitude. Recommended. We will likely stay there again. It is situated across from a main rail line crossing, but the windows and door mute the sound. It is a small town, and the train sound is heard throughout the town, fyi.

Shoreside Inn & suites was a good option for an overnight stay as it was budget friendly and had good parking for our truck with two bikes on the back. It’s nothing fancy for sure, but the room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

I had a very comfortable stay and was pleasantly surprised With the decoration and cleanliness of the room. The staff were very pleasant to speak to and accommodating. The room had a microwave and a nice size fridge with a separate freezer. Available ice in the office. And a continental breakfast, it was a very pleasurable stay for the night. I will definitely be back to stay again, thanks to the staff Maryann

Beautiful lake, gas station is close by, parking is big and plentiful, the train that comes by can get irritating but I slept well in nice clean sheets, in a clean room, with complementary shampoo and soap with hot water! The breakfast is light, but buttered toast, cereal, juice and milk is greatly appreciated! Staff is very kind, understanding, and accommodating even for my late arrival! Overall a great experience for the cost. Would go here again for a good pit stop!

Staff was helpful and friendly and parking was plentiful..Our room was some what shabby, with a strong smell of de-oderizer. Breakfast choices were minimal. Location was convenient.

The outside looks great but very deceiving, interior needs major make over very dirty bedding had stains and sand or something in them there’s stains all Over the walls bathroom was worse then a gas station stop, we Paid for 4 days left after first day with no refund!

The place was filthy and unfriendly. After booking for 3 they only set 2 sleeping places and didn't leave any bedding for the third person. We had to ask for more bedding and set the disgusting dirty couch ourselves. Our room was dirty it had hairs and dust everywhere. In the morning breakfast area was closed and no one was there.

Very cozy stay everytime I have come to Wabamun. Comfy beds and spacious rooms, which are well equiped. I really appreciated the hosts attention to my stay here, and he was able to change last minute booking dates in short notice.

There are a traintrack beside the hotel and its quite loud. 1 of 2 queensize beds has stains, the other was clean. Bathrooms was clean as well. For a sleepover using oropax these motel is okay.

Room is beautifully appointed and comfortable. Best part is the large windows with wonderful view of the lake ~ It feels like home but even better! Our reception was warm and welcoming and we have extended our stay because it’s just so nice to be here!

Good value for the money. Clean and comfortable bed with soft sheets. AC was not working consistently. Could use curtains, as light came in through the edges of the blinds. Breakfast was decent. Overall a good place to stay for the area.

I booked 9 months via Expedia before my vacation. When I arrived, the clerk could not find my reservation. After 10minutes, she contacted the offsite Manager via her cellphone, and gave me her cell to which I was told by the Manager that my reservation was no longer valid as the motel has had a change of ownership, that they are full occupancy and cannot help me. At my every turn in conversation, the manager kept telling me that they cannot accommodate me due to a change of ownership since my original booking, I finally had the lightbulb appear and told them that as the new owner, you would have seen all prior bookings and you never emailed me that my reservation was cancelled. After a long pause, they said ok. Once I secured my room, I asked how did you find a room for me as you stated the motel was full, the Manager replied (remember.... via cellphone) that they hold one back for emergencies.... I thought to myself why would you put me through a 25minute check-in instead of welcoming me and just gave me that emergency room without me insisting that they need to honour my reservation. Don't stay here - old motel, no updates except for locks on door.. Front desk clerk absent as only Manager not onsite, and clerk has triple duty with being Reception, Housekeeper, and setting up each day's continental breakfast. The clerk is overworked and very polite. The offsite manager tried to turn me away and I think it's because I booked at a lower rate 9months prior with Expedia.....

At my every turn in conversation, the manager kept telling me that they cannot accommodate me due to a change of ownership since my original booking, I finally had the lightbulb appear and told them that as the new owner, you would have seen all prior bookings and you never emailed me that my reservation was cancelled. After a long pause, they said ok. Once I secured my room, I asked how did you find a room for me as you stated the motel was full, the Manager replied (remember.... via cellphone) that they hold one back for emergencies.... I thought to myself why would you put me through a 25minute check-in instead of welcoming me and just gave me that emergency room without me insisting that they need to honour my reservation. Don't stay here - old motel, no updates except for locks on door.. Front desk clerk absent as only Manager not onsite, and clerk has triple duty with being Reception, Housekeeper, and setting up each day's continental breakfast. The clerk is overworked and very polite. The offsite manager tried to turn me away and I think it's because I booked at a lower rate 9months prior with Expedia.....

Our stay was good, but the only thing I didn’t like is that the worker would raise his voice at our children when they were being kids. They would get a little to excited because it was a new place. They’re was 7 of them between 2 rooms and between 0-10 so yes it going to get a little loud at times. But please leave it to us the parents to deal with them.

Beautiful lake, gas station is close by, parking is big and plentiful, the train that comes by can get irritating but I slept well in nice clean sheets, in a clean room, with complementary shampoo and soap with hot water! The breakfast is light, but buttered toast, cereal, juice and milk is greatly appreciated! Staff is very kind, understanding, and accommodating even for my late arrival! Overall a great experience for the cost. Would go here again for a good pit stop!

This is our second stay at this family owned and run motel. Comfortable bed and good-size room. Good facilities. They not only have a better size fridge than a mini fridge that most hotels have, as well as a microwave, but they provide plates and cutlery. Their sign says it all, " You are not just a guest, you are our guest". That states their attitude. Recommended. We will likely stay there again. It is situated across from a main rail line crossing, but the windows and door mute the sound. It is a small town, and the train sound is heard throughout the town, fyi.

When you travel to smaller communities, there is always a sense of wariness about the accommodations you will find. Set aside your wariness when travelling to Wabamun as the Shoreside Inn & Suites is an excellent facility in the world of small town motels. The rooms are very clean, well looked after and very well equipped - ours had a "real" fridge with freezer, a microwave and coffee maker. to my wife's enjoyment, the bathroom has a soaker tub and hot water was never an issue. The motel is centrally located, so virtually everything in town is within a short walk. The staff are friendly, but not overbearing and the breakfast room is very roomy and provides a number of options for breakfast. The manager and internet sites warned of the noise of very consistent trains running through town and near the motel, but my wife and I did not find it to be as noisy as advertised. A great stay.

Not as advertised. Room had a smell, no lake view, free breakfast was a joke. I should have paid more extra $30 bucks and went down the road to next town. Also main railroad line in across the street and hourly freight trains going through. 8.4 rating of the property is likely a manipulated rating. It is more likely a 5 or less.

Only thing was stains on chairs, rugs.. due to it being old furniture… beds were coming but nosey which means old too… breakfast is basic waffles, cereal and oatmeal… just needs updates other then that the women that is there 24/7 is amazing and I would highly consider using this hotel again.

Neighbors had a very yappy dog. Breakfast was very sparse. It was okay but probably wouldn't stay more than one night at a time. Manager was pleasant.

The staff was friendly the rooms were clean and quiet. The only complaint I have was the breakfast was pretty disappointing, cereal was almost all gone just the crumbs in the bottom of all but one and no sugar. Other than the breaky it was a great stay.

Good value for the money. Clean and comfortable bed with soft sheets. AC was not working consistently. Could use curtains, as light came in through the edges of the blinds. Breakfast was decent. Overall a good place to stay for the area.

The place was filthy and unfriendly. After booking for 3 they only set 2 sleeping places and didn't leave any bedding for the third person. We had to ask for more bedding and set the disgusting dirty couch ourselves. Our room was dirty it had hairs and dust everywhere. In the morning breakfast area was closed and no one was there.

We have stayed here several times. It is a good family owned & run motel. Rooms are a good size. The bed is comfortable. We like that there is a desk, couch,good size fridge with separate freezer. In the past there were plates and cutlery. None this time in our room.

Continental breakfast was very scanty. In room coffee was so weak the bottom of the cup could be seen. The toilet was sluggish. A train could be clearly heard throughout the night. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was clean, bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. The room was a decent size. The staff was friendly, check in was easy. The "lake view" room offered no real view of the lake, just the buildings across the street. Despite the breakfast room being available 730-930, it was not open on Sunday and we had to find breakfast elsewhere. The ice and vending machines were only available certain hours when the lobby wasn't locked up. There are constantly trains running on the tracks, day and night. Seems like one every 20 minutes.
