Our stay at Campbell House was wonderful, and we couldn't recommend this hotel more highly. The whole team were amazing at their roles, but Kumar was a star, making us feel immediately welcome and also recommending great sights and eateries for us. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and immerses guests in history whilst keeping all modern amenities. The daily desserts and welcome beverages were an especially appreciated touch. We really appreciated the no shoes policy, as it helped us to feel comfortable and assured us that the rooms were clean and well cared for. We also appreciated how seamlessly the hotel managed with Penang authority water maintenance works - we had everything we needed and didn't deal with any disturbances. We look forward to visiting again, and have already recommended the hotel to friends and family.

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful and cozy hotel. The staff is phenomenal and each person made us feel welcomed. The breakfast was delicious giving us the energy we needed for long days of touring the city. A special treat was coming back and having a dessert left in the fridge for us to enjoy before settling in for the night. And we got so many wonderful recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants to check out. This place is truly a gem and I’d be thrilled to have a second stay on our next trip to Penang!

I love this hotel, is in heritage site of Georgetown. Is like staying in a hotel but more of historical house. The services are excellent. Everything from breakfast in the morning to coming back to the bedroom, so clean. Every day there is a nice sweet treat. Definitely give it a 5 stars 🌟. I be back again

The good: the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast, the overall ambiance and condition (beautiful restoration of the building), free cake every day was a lovely touch. The less good: standard room is smaller than expected and lacks charm (bed is also only a small double), wooden floors look good but are very slippery (you have to take off your shoes downstairs) and the rugs on top slide so much as to be dangerous. The bad: we were clearly unlucky, but our air conditioning would not get cold, an attempt to fix it managed only a slight improvement, sleeping so badly in the heat left us groggy every morning and unable to enjoy the breakfast. Lovely staff tried to help, but it was out of their control. Such a shame.

A delightful stay in the heart of old town. Each room is a unique individual creation with vintage furnishings. The breakfast is amazing and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Everyday the chef creates a special desert and delivers it to each of the twelve boutique rooms. A must stay if you are going to Georgetown, Malaysia.

Great small hotel to stay in. 12 rooms each individual to make very homely. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Nice touch daily complimentary treat. Good breakfast and good coffee.

Excellent location, a charming hotel with a real sense of history to it. Nice touch to have little treats left in the room each night. Breakfast tasted lovely but choosing more options from the menu would be nice. Plus this took quite a while. This was the only downside

Idéalement situé dans les rues d'intérêt pour les touristes, ce superbe hôtel dans une maison chinoise est parfaitement tenu. L'accueil est plus que sympathique avec beaucoup de conseils et d'attentions, notre chambre était vaste, très bien équipée et les petits déjeuners sont très variés, pour tous les goûts. Les bons avis sont tous complètement justifiés.

Nice hotel with a lot of charm. Well located, in walking distance of everything interesting in Georgetown. The rooms are big with nice furnitures. Sound isolation is not super good but can be managed with ear plugs. Breakfast is not really a plus. Food choice is limited and you can eat great local breakfast arround the hotel. We didn’t try the restaurant for supper.

Campbell House is a lovingly restored hotel in Georgetown. We stayed in the Loft and Opium rooms and loved it. The owner and her team treated us like royalty. Highly recommend.

We picked Campbell House for it's location and weren't disappointed as it is a short walk from the likes of Love Lane with a great selection of bars and restaurants. Had a great time exploring the local area, spotting all the wall art/murals. Also really convenient for using Grab to get a taxi to Penang Hill and Kek Lok See temple. The rooms are stylish and comfortable (we were in the Loft, a duplex room) and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Added bonus having a fantastic, authentic Italian restaurant on-site which is where you have breakfast. So good we ate there twice in the evening over the course of our 4 night stay. Highly recommend if you want to be in the midst of Georgetown

Sehr gut Lage in der Altstadt von George town. Streetfood, Restaurants etc. alles zu Fuß erreichbar. Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter. Unser Zimmer war direkt über der Küche des Restaurants im Erdgeschoss und dadurch abends leider etwas lauter.
Sehr gut Lage in der Altstadt von George town. Streetfood, Restaurants etc. alles zu Fuß erreichbar. Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter. Unser Zimmer war direkt über der Küche des Restaurants im Erdgeschoss und dadurch abends leider etwas lauter.

Everything about this hotel is amazing. Very nice staff at the reception and restaurant. Beautiful decorated room. Tasty breakfast and the Italian restaurant is excellent. Very good and safe location.

Super schönes Boutique Hotel mit 12 Zimmern mit Liebe zum Detail ( jedes Zimmer ein Motto) und guter Lage um in der Georgetown Altstadt alles zu erreichen. Personal sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Frühstück a la Carte ebenfalls sehr gut. Absolut zu empfehlen.

Unique property as each room has a different theme. I particularly enjoy the overall Nyonya, Peranakan vibes to the hotel. It was by the road but not noisy. Convenient location to explore Georgetown as well, walkable to many places.

The whole team were amazing at their roles, but Kumar was a star, making us feel immediately welcome and also recommending great sights and eateries for us. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and immerses guests in history whilst keeping all modern amenities. The daily desserts and welcome beverages were an especially appreciated touch. We really appreciated the no shoes policy, as it helped us to feel comfortable and assured us that the rooms were clean and well cared for. We also appreciated how seamlessly the hotel managed with Penang authority water maintenance works - we had everything we needed and didn't deal with any disturbances. We look forward to visiting again, and have already recommended the hotel to friends and family.

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful and cozy hotel. The staff is phenomenal and each person made us feel welcomed. The breakfast was delicious giving us the energy we needed for long days of touring the city. A special treat was coming back and having a dessert left in the fridge for us to enjoy before settling in for the night. And we got so many wonderful recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants to check out. This place is truly a gem and I’d be thrilled to have a second stay on our next trip to Penang!

I would definitely recommend this hotel to visitors of Georgetown. It is a charming and quaint hotel. It is in a great location and the hotel staff are beyond gracious and hospitable. The morning breakfast was also delicious. My only one (small) heads up is to avoid using their 3rd party laundry service. I was not pleased with things in that sense. Otherwise, it was great experience!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The hotel was in a great location and really beautifully renovated with historic charm. Staff could not have been more helpful - from recommending activities to restaurants and helping us with any small queries! We also dined in the restaurant and the Italian food was excellent also.

We picked Campbell House for it's location and weren't disappointed as it is a short walk from the likes of Love Lane with a great selection of bars and restaurants. Had a great time exploring the local area, spotting all the wall art/murals. Also really convenient for using Grab to get a taxi to Penang Hill and Kek Lok See temple. The rooms are stylish and comfortable (we were in the Loft, a duplex room) and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Added bonus having a fantastic, authentic Italian restaurant on-site which is where you have breakfast. So good we ate there twice in the evening over the course of our 4 night stay. Highly recommend if you want to be in the midst of Georgetown

Sehr gut Lage in der Altstadt von George town. Streetfood, Restaurants etc. alles zu Fuß erreichbar. Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter. Unser Zimmer war direkt über der Küche des Restaurants im Erdgeschoss und dadurch abends leider etwas lauter.

Unique property as each room has a different theme. I particularly enjoy the overall Nyonya, Peranakan vibes to the hotel. It was by the road but not noisy. Convenient location to explore Georgetown as well, walkable to many places.

Nice hotel with a lot of charm. Well located, in walking distance of everything interesting in Georgetown. The rooms are big with nice furnitures. Sound isolation is not super good but can be managed with ear plugs. Breakfast is not really a plus. Food choice is limited and you can eat great local breakfast arround the hotel. We didn’t try the restaurant for supper.

A block back from lively Chulia st. The hotel was the perfect location. Spacious rooms, air con, friendly staff. A nice back terrace to watch the afternoon storms. Loved the little presents in the room and the willingness to help. You do need to be able to walk up stairs. There is no lift so not for everyone.

Unique place, a very different experience. Worth a night or 2, staff where a very mixed bag of very helpful and some not so. Think it's a bit overpriced but location is good for the old town!! Breakfast pretty basic
