Very grateful for the flexibilty over leaving the car in the car park outsude of check-in/check-out times. Hotel is comfortable and well kept. Would definitely return if we're ever in the area!

What an amazing little find this hotel is. Right in the centre of Bury, 10 minute walk if that to the shops, market, pubs and restaurants. Earlier check in than most hotels of 1pm, but they were happy if we got there earlier for us to leave our car in their car park so we could go about our day. Our room was clean, tidy and functional, nice shower, comfy bed and nice selection of drinks available in the room. Staff were really friendly and helpful and the breakfast the next morning was lovely. Lots of choice included and the full English breakfast was cooked to perfection using quality ingredients. It was perfect for everything we needed and at the same price as the premier inn near by it is an absolute no brainer. Much more personal, relaxing, comfortable quality stay. Thank you! We will be back next time we visit Bury 😊

Nigel and his staff was extremely warm, friendly and has a real cosy atmosphere to the hotel. Perfect location in the city and plenty of parking. Me and my wife had a lovely time and the breakfast was amazing!! Will be returning and recommending to all!

This is my go to hotel for staying in Bury St Edmunds. The rooms are always excellent and individual, clean and well stocked with coffee etc. the beds are amazingly comfortable. The freshly cooked breakfast is great, and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. Free off road parking is a great bonus and the hotel is a few minutes from the centre of the historic centre and the cathedral and abbey gardens. Can’t recommend this place enough!

I arrived at the Chantry Hotel just after midday. The proprietor was happy for me to check-in straight away. He was also happy for me to leave my car there for a couple of hours after I’d checked out the following morning. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was first class. My room was on the second floor - the second set of stairs was a little narrow but fortunately I didn’t have much luggage for my overnight stay so it wasn’t a problem for me. I would definitely stay here again.

Brilliant location for visiting all the main attractions in Bury St Edmunds. Was warmly welcomed by our host and they were flexible about check in times and us leaving the car in their car park before check in. Had a lovely quiet room which was warm and comfortable. Everything we needed was provided. Breakfast was great, with a good selection. Would definitely stay here on future visits to the area.

Our break in Bury St Edmunds was excellent. The hotel was quite good and was in an excellent location close to many shops and restaurants. The only reason, we were not totally happy was because our room was tiny and the furniture looked a little dated. However, we would book it again if we could get a bigger room, which we noticed, they had many of. The Service, especially at breakfast was very good and so was the breakfast. The hotel was generally clean and tidy.

The location was good with parking onsite. The room was on the small side but was clean & the bed was comfortable - fine for one night. We had to switch radiators on initially but that's ok with the cost of power currently. The staff are lovely & breakfast was great. I'd stay here again.

Great location on South Side of Bury within easy walking of all the churches, gardens, shops, cafe's and restaurants. Free dedicated car park. Comfortable bedroom number 5 with large bathroom and bath all kept very clean. HoweverI am use to a Queen bed so a double does feel small and not keen on wood headboard to sit up against. Breakfast is great too and All served at your table by a lovely and efficient server who also cleans and makes up the rooms.

Warm welcome, great position for visiting the town with free parking. Room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, great bed. Breakfast was fresh and well prepared, good coffee and friendly service. We would definitely return, and would be our first choice out of places we’ve stayed in town. Only concern would be a really hot summer as no air conditioning but noticed a fan in the wardrobe and the sash window opened fully and easily so think all the pros would definitely outweigh this minor con. And the room was so lovely with the furnishings really complimenting it the addition of an air con unit would be a shame.

Second time I have stayed at Chantry House. Once again, a lovely stay. Very comfortable sized room. Always very clean and has a homely feel. Breakfast selection is excellent as is the breakfast itself. Highly recommended.

A lovely property in the heart of historic Bury st Edmunds, a few minutes walk from the cathedral, Abbey gardens and theatre royal. Staff were very welcoming, breakfast excellent, beautifully presented and very tasty. There was some road noise but then we were staying in one of the hottest weekends of the year so had to keep windows wide open!

Nigel and his staff was extremely warm, friendly and has a real cosy atmosphere to the hotel. Perfect location in the city and plenty of parking. Me and my wife had a lovely time and the breakfast was amazing!! Will be returning and recommending to all!

The hotel were kind enough to let me check in super early as i had to meet clients at 12.30 and wanted to park up and drop my bag off beforehand. A lovely hotel on a very quiet street - would thoroughly recommend.

Good location, lovely building, unfortunately that’s all the positives, paying £175 a night we excepted a level of service, there was no warm welcome the lady was in fact quite hostile. Immediately asked our name and took payment not a hi, or welcome nothing! There was no way we were going to hang around for breakfast in the morning and experience more ignorance . Bury it’s self was beautiful the perfect setting to celebrate our anniversary unfortunately we choose the wrong place to stay, with so many options of places to stay in the area I recommend do your research and find somewhere welcoming and friendly.

I arrived at the Chantry Hotel just after midday. The proprietor was happy for me to check-in straight away. He was also happy for me to leave my car there for a couple of hours after I’d checked out the following morning. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was first class. My room was on the second floor - the second set of stairs was a little narrow but fortunately I didn’t have much luggage for my overnight stay so it wasn’t a problem for me. I would definitely stay here again.

Was warmly welcomed by our host and they were flexible about check in times and us leaving the car in their car park before check in. Had a lovely quiet room which was warm and comfortable. Everything we needed was provided. Breakfast was great, with a good selection. Would definitely stay here on future visits to the area.

What an amazing little find this hotel is. Right in the centre of Bury, 10 minute walk if that to the shops, market, pubs and restaurants. Earlier check in than most hotels of 1pm, but they were happy if we got there earlier for us to leave our car in their car park so we could go about our day. Our room was clean, tidy and functional, nice shower, comfy bed and nice selection of drinks available in the room. Staff were really friendly and helpful and the breakfast the next morning was lovely. Lots of choice included and the full English breakfast was cooked to perfection using quality ingredients. It was perfect for everything we needed and at the same price as the premier inn near by it is an absolute no brainer. Much more personal, relaxing, comfortable quality stay. Thank you! We will be back next time we visit Bury 😊

A Georgian house of lovely proportioned rooms I found the maneuvering to squeeze an extra parking space into the town centre site’s court car park was a sad reflection on the ridiculous car spreading of recent years- cars like people are now mostly obese. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom palatial in size - I have slept in rooms smaller than our bathroom was. A Nespresso machine was very welcome as I admired the cathedral lit by a rosy fingered dawn through the perfect proportions of the Georgian window panes. The breakfast is good. It would be fun to know more about whether there could be local food on offer but the apple juice jams and honeys are simply supermarket stuff.

The Chantry is what a bed and breakfast used to be like - beautifully appointed, friendly and caring staff, a nice kettle and all you need for tea or coffee in your room (including biscuits), a delicious breakfast well-served. and all meticulously clean. To top it all off, it’s wonderfully central. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
