The Tankerville Arms

Would definitely recommend. From the staff, food, room and general atmosphere of this country pub were excellent. Well placed for visiting well known historical places such as pretty Alnick and its Castle only six miles away. Banburgh castle, Lindisfarne and Cragside all within easy reach. What really makes it special are the amazing staff.

Lovely old inn in a quiet village. Staff were very helpful. Great breakfast and evening meals.

Did not appreciate a separate bathroom from our bedroom. We booked 12 months in advance and I am sure that I would not have booked if I had noticed that. Our room was situated at the top of the stairs which meant other guests walking past possibly as you were heading to have or return from a shower. Our room could also be seen from a public area (a small corridor from the main bar to the beer garden) which is not good especially for a woman. The hosts went out of their way to find us alternative accommodation which they did not have to do and paid for our first evening meal as recompense. If we hadn’t travelled so far and it was the Easter break I doubt we would have stayed. The hosts were very nice and the food excellent.

An excellent establishment with very friendly staff. A wonderful fresh breakfast with fruit, yogurt, cereal and full English breakfast. Rooms and bathrooms cleaned everyday. Great range our beers and wines at the bar and a excellent restaurant menu. Not a lot to do in, Eglingham, but I would stay there again. Use it for a base to tour from.
