Kentisbury Grange is a stunning venue, our garden suite was clean, well equipped with a wonderfully large and comfortable super king size bed that we didn't want to leave. It's very conveniently situated for easy access to lynmouth to the east and woolacombe/Ilfracombe in the west with easy access. We had a fantastic couple of nights for my partners birthday and would 100% stay again. I didn't get their names but the two young ladies who were there for breakfast each morning were fantastic considering the hotel had issues with the kitchen because of a flood, which I will say I was notified of before hand by phone which I appreciated.

The grange is surrounded by beautiful countryside, it is quiet , striking property Our room and en-suite were huge and on the ground floor of the original house. There was plenty of parking close to the property. Breakfast was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. Staff were very welcoming and helpful We stayed in room one , although huge and clean there were a couple of areas that needed attention , the curtains were ripped in places and one had come of the curtain track and the grout in the shower needed cleaning in places. Otherwise the room was spotless

The lodge was spacious very modern and very well maintained. The hot tub outside was a gem we arrived it was windy and raining but the hot tub stay very hot indeed even after staying in it for over 2 hours it was still hot. The huge bath tub inside is huge and is insulated. The whole room was a hidden gem in the country side. Staff was very welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast in the coach house was very nice. An open space with luxury at it's best. We will be staying here again in the near future.

There were so many plus points about this stay . 1 the accommodation is gorgeous masses of space and beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches . 2 the staff are wonderful there super friendly and helpful . 3 The food we had lunch and breakfast was really tasty . There were a few issues which stopped us marking it perfect . 1 it was a warm day so we didn’t try the hot tub till the evening . There was no temp on it but it wasn’t very hot. It had hair in it seemed dirty . We also got bombarded with flies the minute we got in so only in it ten mins . We paid extra £40 for that so I would say not worth it . 2 We paid for breakfast included in the stay . We went at 9 and they had already run out of mushrooms . We also asked for toast but that didn’t materialise . 3 when checking out we were told we had a bill for £82 which we queried as breakfast was included and had paid our lunch bill separately and didn’t eat there in the evening due to it being quite pricy . They said that would sort it but felt very awkward as had paid upfront for the room . All in all it’s a beautiful place quite remote and a good 20 mins to any kind of beach or eating facilities but gorgeous accommodation .

Great location for exploring the North Coast of Devon. For this reason alone we would recommend Kentisbury Grange. Restaurant was closed because they were having a new floor fitted these things happen but was disappointing however found a great pub for food, the Black Venus, a short distance away. Room was spacious and clean but was let down by the condition and fitting of the curtains!

Beautiful peaceful setting with a luxury feel. The gardens at a sense of grandeur to the grounds. Plenty of onsite parking. Our room was in the main house. Comfortable king size bed with a very spacious elegant ensuite with large walk-in shower. The restaurant is based in the Coach House and serves an extensive breakfast menu, beautifully presented and totally delicious. Snacks and meals are available at lunchtimes and evenings but were a little expensive, as were the bar and bedroom mini bar tariffs. The Grange is a little remote so you will need your own transport. 20 minute drive to lovely town of Lynmouth.

Staff were very pleasant and eager to please . Food well cooked and presented but menu disappointing. Very limited fruit at breakfast . Floors in our room and communal areas lwerent cleaned with dead flies left on window sills. Individual bath towels but had to share small hand face towels. Bath mat was mouldy.

Lovely place and surroundings with very friendly staff. The garden studio was lovely. The only couple of negative points I had were: the blinds and window areas were very dirty with cobwebs in the window area near the bed, so I didn't open the windows. The room smelt like dogs in places. I'm aware pets are allowed but I thought a thorough clean would take place before the next guest. It wasn't great for my asthma symptoms. Apart from this, it was all fine :-)

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed by the cleanliness of the Garden Suite that we stayed in. Upon arrival, we noticed that there were cobwebs, spiders, black mould, dog hairs and marks on the duvet. We requested that our room was serviced the next day, however, we returned in the evening to find that it was the exact same and the staff had just replaced the water and soap. The grounds are lovely and the breakfast was great but I would recommend viewing this as a step up from glamping rather than a 4 star hotel if you are considering booking.

Really lovely stay here. Staff were friendly, helpful and worked together well as a team which shone through. We stayed in a cottage room in the garden which was well appointed, clean, spacious and had an outdoor verandah area for sitting. It was peaceful and well maintained. Other parts of the grounds were not so well kept but as a whole it was fine. A little off the beaten track but the food was excellent and generous so no need to go elsewhere.

Arrivedandroomdirty.reported it and still not done next day. Unable to shower due to it being dirty. Pipes on ground exposed whilst teting to use hot tub. Luxury this was not. Cobwebs on enterying property and inside. Dirty glasses for us to use. Cracked lampshades in bathroom.

We were actually very disappointed. Firstly we hadn’t realised that Checkin was at 4.00 and checkout at 10.00am, which is contrary to the majority of hotels we stay in. This of course was our fault for not checking in more detail….. we waited for an hour and a half to be able to access our accommodation. The accommodation itself was ok, but the area appeared very neglected …..the grass in front of our cabin was overgrown and the roads had numerous potholes. The exterior of the cabin was very dirty, although the internal space was thankfully ok. The crisps in the mini bar were out of date, which added to our impression of neglect. The photograph on the website of the exterior of the accommodation we booked looked very different. When asking for help to book a taxi to the wedding we were attending, we were told to book any in the area….. most hotels would do this for you. Having given our negative comments, we would like to say that the restaurant food was very good and it was a pleasure to be served a breakfast option rather than serving ourselves at a buffet. We think the concept of the accommodation layout was good, it has definitely seen better days.

This is a lovely place to stay and the rooms are lovely. The hot tub was great as was the food in the Coach House. The only problem we had was the check in is at 4 (which is quite late) and our room was not ready until around 4.30. After we got in everything was perfect

We stayed overnight in one of the Cottage Suites, which are detach chalets in the grounds. These consist of a large bedroom with adjoining bathroom. The first thing we noticed on entering the accommodation was that it was cold. Apart from that our first impressions were that everything was smart and clean. There is underfloor heating with a wireless thermostat on the wall, so we turned it up. After a couple of hours however it was still cold. On our way out we mentioned this to reception. On returning later we found that the room was too hot; the thermostat reading 25°C. We only wanted to warm the room up a little, but this was stifling. I think the thermostat was broken and in our absence the staff may have manually overriden the temperature. We soon opened some small windows, one of which just flopped shut. In the morning the temperature read 25°C. There was a large smart TV on the wall, but we couldn't get it to connect to the WiFi, so just ordinary TV was available. I found the lighting in the bathroom to be poor, even to shave by. Breakfast was pretty good and our cooked breakfasts were very nice. The orange juice, jam and yoghurts were nothing special though. There could also have been slightly more of a selection of fresh fruit. I think with a few tweeks the breakfast could have been excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly, but maybe there just needs to be a bit more attention to detail. I'd definitely go back, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice.

On returning later we found that the room was too hot; the thermostat reading 25°C. We only wanted to warm the room up a little, but this was stifling. I think the thermostat was broken and in our absence the staff may have manually overriden the temperature. We soon opened some small windows, one of which just flopped shut. In the morning the temperature read 25°C. There was a large smart TV on the wall, but we couldn't get it to connect to the WiFi, so just ordinary TV was available. I found the lighting in the bathroom to be poor, even to shave by. Breakfast was pretty good and our cooked breakfasts were very nice. The orange juice, jam and yoghurts were nothing special though. There could also have been slightly more of a selection of fresh fruit. I think with a few tweeks the breakfast could have been excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly, but maybe there just needs to be a bit more attention to detail. I'd definitely go back, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice.

The grange is surrounded by beautiful countryside, it is quiet , striking property Our room and en-suite were huge and on the ground floor of the original house. There was plenty of parking close to the property. Breakfast was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. Staff were very welcoming and helpful We stayed in room one , although huge and clean there were a couple of areas that needed attention , the curtains were ripped in places and one had come of the curtain track and the grout in the shower needed cleaning in places. We stayed in the Classic room within the beautiful manor house, and overall had a pleasant experience. The on-site restaurant served a lovely dinner, and breakfast the next morning was delicious. Fresh, well-prepared, and a great start to the day. There were a few small issues in the room: a couple of light bulbs weren’t working (one in the room, one in the en-suite), the bed wasn't very comfy, the en-suite was very warm with no way to adjust the temperature, and we were only provided with half a toilet roll and no spares. These didn’t ruin the stay, but a bit more attention to detail would have made it even better.

Beautiful garden areas and our room in the main house was comfortable, clean and tastefully furnished. Staff very helpful and breakfast good. Check in not until 4pm and then check out at 10am; would be nice if extended. No hot water in the morning (also heard two other rooms report this issue) which spoilt an otherwise enjoyable stay.

Arrived at hotel to what seemed a rabbit caught in the headlights. Asked about food options to be told the kitchen was not operating. Asked about local options to be told there was a pub over 1mile away. Had to locate room in a maze of a country house. This hotel could be lovely but the staff need some serious customer service training

Overall, with the exception of one young girl who was very pleasant, the staff were unfriendly, food particulary breakfast very poor choice. Looking very tired. Reminds me of a hotel in administration. Would not recommend nor would return.

I had an overnight stay and was very happy with it. The hotel and grounds are lovely. The room was clean and adequate but maybe a little ‘tired’ in some areas. We ate at the restaurant on site. It was clean and there was a good menu choice. I feel although the food was lovely, we had to send the starter back as it was not cooked properly. The staff were really apologetic and were really supportive in this matter. What I loved most about my stay was the staff! For a young team, doing all the checking in and waiting, they were simply fantastic! Friendly, polite and very professional! So recognition for them all is warranted. I would happily stay again, thank you!! 😊

Great location for exploring the North Coast of Devon. For this reason alone we would recommend Kentisbury Grange. Restaurant was closed because they were having a new floor fitted these things happen but was disappointing however found a great pub for food, the Black Venus, a short distance away. Room was spacious and clean but was let down by the condition and fitting of the curtains!

We had a very enjoyable stay in the hotel. All the staff were freindly and helpful. Food was well cooked and presented big portions The hotel was set in lovely grounds. Also hotel was in a good location easy for Barnstable Lynton, Lynmouth and National Trust properties. Would not hesitate to stay there agsin.

Beautiful peaceful setting with a luxury feel. The gardens at a sense of grandeur to the grounds. Plenty of onsite parking. Our room was in the main house. Comfortable king size bed with a very spacious elegant ensuite with large walk-in shower. The restaurant is based in the Coach House and serves an extensive breakfast menu, beautifully presented and totally delicious. Snacks and meals are available at lunchtimes and evenings but were a little expensive, as were the bar and bedroom mini bar tariffs. The Grange is a little remote so you will need your own transport. 20 minute drive to lovely town of Lynmouth.

Staff were very pleasant and eager to please . Food well cooked and presented but menu disappointing. Very limited fruit at breakfast . Floors in our room and communal areas lwerent cleaned with dead flies left on window sills. Individual bath towels but had to share small hand face towels. Bath mat was mouldy.

Stayed in a suite but the room was not stocked, the curtains were hanging off the rails and dinner was poor. However the bed was extremely comfortable and breakfast was good. Just the evening meal was a disappointment but the hotel responded very positively to my feedback

1st time staying at Grange Garsden Suite . Rooms are huge by hotel standards both bedroom and bathroom are well equipped, modern and very airy. Breakfast served in the barn ( very pleasant setting)was excellent both in Quality and quantity. Ate at the restaurant on only one of our two nights and again were very happy with both quality and quantity of the food. Service was very good throughout our stay, although I get the impression that staffing is tight, restaurant staff looked really tired, busy didn’t let it affect their demeanour. Can recommend and would stay again.

We originally had a room in the main hotel which was large but we hadn’t spotted that they had lodges too. We upgraded to a lodge with hot tub for my wife’s 50th. Loved it. Well appointed and staff could not do enough for us. Went way above what was required and we are very grateful. Check in is in the coach house which is the restaurant. Now, food! Had breakfast there an evening meal and Sunday lunch. The standard is superb, loved it. The roast was huge and very very well done one of the best roasts I’ve had in a long time. Excellent. Had a prawn starter both nights and that was spot on. Burger was nailed totally. Applause to the team. Breaky was always first class well presented and staff absolutely lovely Thanks for a great weekend

Well appointed and staff could not do enough for us. Went way above what was required and we are very grateful. Check in is in the coach house which is the restaurant. Now, food! Had breakfast there an evening meal and Sunday lunch. The standard is superb, loved it. The roast was huge and very very well done one of the best roasts I’ve had in a long time. Excellent. Had a prawn starter both nights and that was spot on. Burger was nailed totally. Applause to the team. Breaky was always first class well presented and staff absolutely lovely Thanks for a great weekend

Excellent stay at Kentisbury Grange, staff were really helpful, full breakfast was great and just right. The gardens were lovely. Great places to visit in the surrounding area.

Super helpful staff, and a great place to take our family for a holiday. Our second visit and still a lovely place: safe and welcoming. Having the on-site wildlife was also a hit with our eldest- who rescued a hedgehog and helped feed the ducklings. One of the shower taps sadly didn’t like turning to cold - and the cabins did get very hot (mitigation being it was the 30 degree plus heatwave)

Great one night stay,staff excellent especially abbie, very attentive all staff greeted us with a smile, all food very nice and well presented, room great size and clean many thanks to mark and the team.

Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff, clean room, very comfortable bed, excellent shower, delicious breakfast. Reasonably priced restaurant with a good range of quality food for your evening meal. We were only there for the one night visit because we wanted to see the shoebill stork at Exmoor Zoo but would definitely return if we going to be in the area again.
