Shinjuku City Hotel N.U.T.S Tokyo

Apparently, my room was in another building about 2 minutes walking distance and it is one level of a 6 storey building which is quite inconvenient. The room condition is acceptable though lack of sitting area and no effective window cos facing the wall of the buidling beside. The only light to the room is the balcony but it is a big step down with the CU installed and seeing a office opposite which work 24 hours. However, the location is near to the subway train station, convenience store and small restaurants.

Property was a quick walk to the train station which was very convenient. Right across the street from a grocery store. Room was equipped with a kitchenette and balcony. Fast and efficient check in and out.

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel in Shinjuku; the staff here was very friendly and welcoming. Across from the hotel is a laundromat, which is very convenient, with vending machines outside. In addition, the area is very peaceful, with some local shops and restaurants very close by, including the train station. I highly recommend staying here if you ever want to walk around the city, which is about 12 minutes from the hotel. Overall, I am very satisfied here and I hope to return here when I visit Japan again.

Stayed here for 3 nights after reading lots of mixture of good and horrific reviews. Things to keep in mind: 1. We booked a room that would fit our family of 4. The room was big as it had a small kitchenette, 3 beds and overall quite spacious. 2. We were placed in the “annex” building which is one city block away from the actual hotel. There are steps that made carrying our multiple luggage’s harder. 3. Location was decent as there are lots of dining options around the hotel. All the convenient stores (lawsons, family mart, and 7-11) are very close by. There is an Aeon grocery store close by as well. 4. Pricing for the room was quite expensive and I think there are better Hotel options. 5. Cleanliness was on the low side. There were stains in sheets, curtains and just gave a general uncomfortable feeling. 6. Checkout is 10am! Overall, would not stay here again.. even if the price was lower.

We had a forgettable stay there for 4 nights. This is not a hotel in any sense but a glorified apartment. Our check in did not go on very well. The lobby is very small with no AC in a hot summer day. Our family of 4 barely had enough space to stand around in the lobby. It only got worse. The building that we would stay in has more than a 30-step stairs without a ramp. We had to drag our suitcases by hand up the stairs. It took forever and is something for a high intensity workout. The elevator to our room is so small that we can’t even fit into it. The room (modern tatami) is small. We barely had enough space for our suitcases. The bathroom is the worst. It barely allows one person to turn around. The room is also extremely outdated. The only thing going for the hotel is the location. It is close to the subway station and the National Garden. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone, particularly to families.

We stayed in the annex, just up the street from the main hotel. Our apartment was spacious, clean and had everything we needed for our stay in Tokyo. The location is excellent. It is close to a metro stop and Shinjuku Station. Shinjuku Gyoen park is also very close. There are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby.

We stayed for 10 nights as a family of 5 in the comfort room in Annex next door. Space was just enough for us and three large suitcases. Room and bathroom was very clean. Daily room service was appreciated. The location is good if you are after something bit away from the hustle bustle of shinjuku proper - about 15 min easy walk to Shinjuku station and Kabukicho nightlife areas. The closest metro is about a 3min walk and very handy as it is on the Marounichi line which gets you direct trains to areas like Tokyo and Ginza. Plenty of local eateries nearby which were excellent even with our limited Japanese. 24 hr reception also made check-in and out a breeze.

We checked in at the City Hotel N.U.T.S and we were told after check in that our room is located in another building (approx 1-2 mins walk). The room is very spacious and include a kitchen. There's a mid-size supermarket on the opposite street which is very convenience if you enjoy cooking. It's more like a service apartment than a hotel suite. Check out time is quite early (10am) and you would need to check out at the N.U.T.S building meaning you would need to bring all your baggage with you. The good thing is that they can store your baggage free of charge after you check out.

Very close to subway. Lots of restaurants nearby. Our room was small but clean. Bathroom had a strange smell. My husband says it’s the fiberglass resin they had in the bathroom. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

The hotel was nice overall ... roomy and pretty clean. Though the floor was kind of dusty and the sheets felt like they've been sitting for a while.

Nice spot, smelled like mildew. Not the worst, not the best, probably priced higher than it should be, but not a let down objectively. Had a nice first night in Tokyo. Granted, after the flight, I could have fallen asleep in a hail storm on a park bench.

This property was amazing at first glance. The rooms and bathrooms are super spacious, there’s a coin laundry directly across the hotel, and there’s a station a 3 minute walk away from the hotel that is 1 stop away from the main lines and another station an 8 minute walk away if you wanna skip the transfers. However, when I first walked in my room after a long day, the room was disgusting. There were weird stains on the blinds, the desk had scratched and chipped paint on every edge and corner, and the “couch” was a twin size mattress against the wall with no back cushion. I traveled with a friend and while she was showering, I sat on the “couch” and looked around, I saw a corner of the “couch” cover which was a flat sheet tucked in lifting up and could faintly see a brownish red stain that resembled old blood - and i’m gonna be honest what looked like straight up boogers. When I spoke to the desk, they were nice enough to change us to a different room the following morning when someone had checked out. The new room did definitely feel a lot cleaner and newer, but that night we discovered another dried blood stain on the comforter. The comforter cover is also not secured by any zippers, it’s simply folded over so when we turned it over, we could also see the actual comforter itself was extremely dirty with more large blood stains. I am confident all the brown-red stains were blood as someone who works in a hospital as it definitely was not cola, wine, or any other drink stain.

The good… Great location (10 minutes walk to Shinjuku station) with lots of restaurants and shops around. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was recently renovated and clean. The bad… I was told off by the cleaning lady after we asked for clean towels, having not received any that day. She came to the room 30 minutes later and shouted at me, blaming me ! We were put in an annex and the building is old and dirty. Communal areas are not clean. Overall… You get what you pay for. We won’t be staying here again !!

The cleaner didn’t clean properly when tidy up my room I found there was women’s hair on the floor!

Best budget hotel in 4 weeks in Japan. Close to station. Spacious Delux family room with kitchen, comfy beds, goodshower & great towels.

The walls were a bit thin and we could here our neighbors coming back into their rooms very late at night. Otherwise, it was a very good stay.

The staff were rude as soon as we got to the reception, no greeting at all just a demand for “passports”. We were then led away from the hotel to another run down apartment with a dodgy lift at the back of a seafood restaurant with fish fumes. The room was awful. No vanity in bathroom, horrible smell, no curtains so room was light all night, horrible beds and air con, dirty and holes in ceiling. We stayed one night out of the 4 nights booked and quickly booked another hotel. Perhaps my fault for not realising this was a 2 star hotel, not sure why Expedia recommend this??

Staff was great and property was in a good location, affordable for Shinjuku. Furniture in the room was in pretty poor shape visually and the bed was not very comfortable. The bathroom was pretty nice and the shower/tub area was spacious.

The staff was easy-going and accommodating. Room was quiet, spacious. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is great, however the hotel is very outdated and the rooms are very small. I could not open my luggage in the room, I had to move it to the washroom to fully open it. I could hardly turn around in the room.

Front desk staff looks mean and hard to communicate. Very little knowledge of English and hard to understand what they are saying. The room assigned to us is very small and lack of storage space for our clothes and luggage. The room decor is outdated as well.

Rooms were very spacious . Usually the rooms in Tokyo are small but these rooms were very comfortable and spacious

Room was much larger than expected. Very clean. Flexible late checkout. Secure area to hold luggage. Short walk to Maronouchi line. Perfect for a short stay in the city.

The room we choose was very spacious and had a huge bathroom compared to other hotels we stayed at.

1. Facilities not user friendly 2. Change to other building when i check in, too far away from Subway station 3. Bathroom sink not in bathroom, separate with Kitchen, very bad design 4. DO NOT STAY HERE. Reception held us to ransom on extra charges before checking us in saying our childrent to them are infants and since our children are 14 and 17 they are not infants and will incur additional room charges to stay. Instead of allowing us in to the room late in the afternoon they said "soer it out with Expedia or Wotif, we won't let you in unless you pay extra". Absolutely disgusting behaviour and a shock to be treated this way in Japan. Also the bed sheets had stains on them, which I am guessing were clean but stained from either travellers dioreah from others before us.

We enjoyed staying in the hotel. It's in a quiet area but also walkable to everywhere we needed. The bed is comfortable. Our kids enjoyed tatami as extra bed. The only cons was there's no shuttle bus service and quiet a distance to walk with luggage from train station. Uber/Taxi is recommended.

Toppenbra hotell i mysiga kvarter. Fint, fräscht och nyrenoverat. Massor av bra restauranger i närhet. 15 minuters promenad från Shinjuku station.

Hotel is located in a vibrant part of the city near a lot activities and Kubokichoi dist yet it's tugged away nicely in a quiet residential neighbourhood away from the noise of busy street and easy access to convenient stores/shops and restaurants and laundromat just outside the hotel.

Location was close to the subway, restaurants and shops. Smaller rooms but the amount of spend there really isn't worth it so long its clean and tidey which it was at all times.
