This cabin ended up being a great place for a family vacation (kids 9 and 5). The kitchen was well supplied with everything we needed to prepare meals, and I was happy to see a gas grill instead of the charcoal grill described in the listing. The gravel drive to get to the cabin is steep, but our 2-wheel-drive SUV made it with no problems. I can see how it might be a tricky in bad weather, though. We spent most of our time hiking at nearby Grayson Highlands State Park, but we also really enjoyed the cabin's location/views, yard, and firepit. It's a great place to hang out with kids in the evening, roasting marshmallows and watching for shooting stars (which we saw every night). I'd definitely recommend this cabin, especially for couples.

The property is beautiful, quiet and relaxing. Check is was seamless. The cabin had everything we needed to cook meals. We had no issue going up the road in 4 wheel drive vehicle, even after a heavy rain. We didn't use the fire pit but the set up is awesome. Look through the brochures in the kitchen drawer... We found the channels, horse back riding, state park, and is course hiking with the horses at Grayson.

Our family absolutely loved our stay in your cosy cabin & especially enjoyed the wood-burner fire. It was a little noisy in the middle of the night because there was a power cut & the generator kicked in! Not to be helped but slightly less sleep than we’d hoped for. Jon was very prompt at getting back to our messages & overall we’d definitely stay in this wonderful cabin again.

Loved the remoteness of the property and the cabin was great and well appointed. The beds are a little small for someone over six feet. It is also very interesting to bath in the tub but we made it work. Loved the fire pit and the outdoor space. Although I understand the need for cameras by the front and back doors I was a little taken aback by the camera covering the yard. My wife and I felt like we were constantly under surveillance on the property. Overall, we would consider a return trip because of the cabins location to Grayson Highlands and the firepit.

Stayed at Anders Cabin for a weekend getaway with friends. The property was beautiful and we really enjoyed the beautiful fire pit area and comfortable chairs. My 2-wheel drive sedan did have some trouble getting up the steep gravel hill but luckily we made it. The interior of the cabin was fantastic. We loved all the modern finishings and the deep bathtub was very luxurious. The kitchen is stocked very well and we all noted that the beds in the loft were very comfortable. All in all a great stay!

Beautiful log cabin tucked in the hills of Virginia!!! Be prepared with 4wd, if you would like to park at the cabin. Although there is a place to park within a short walk of the cabin that is easily accessible with 2wd. We had an amazing time! Thanks Jon for all you did to make our stay enjoyable!!!

Enjoyed the cabin! It was secluded and peaceful. We got to enjoy the Grayson Highlands State Park, Creeper Trail, and fall colors. My husband's family owns a chimney sweep business so the woodstove and firepit were a hit! Thanks again!

Great little cabin if you are visiting the Grayson Highlands/Mt Rogers area (one of my favorite places to hike). Would make a perfect basecamp for day hikes and exploring or an excellent place to rest after backpacking. As noted, a 4x4 is a good idea, certainly if it's been raining or snow. But it's just the last bit of the driveway that is steep. Lovely place, will be back.

We stayed for a weekend and found it to be mostly enjoyable. We appreciated the remote location and ease of check in and check out. The beds were comfortable and seemed clean. The tankless water heater was also a nice surprise. Wish more locations had that. The internet speed was quick and easy to connect to. The fire pit and sitting area was nicely put together and enjoyable to sit in. We brought our own wood but a small amount was provided free if needed. Though it wasn't all perfect. Some additional cleaning could be warranted. Frequent interaction surfaces such as cabinet handles, refrigerator doors, stove knobs, toilet flush button, and remotes were all a bit dirty and greasy. The ash in the fire pit hadn't been emptied in some time and the hood over the stove had a lot of splatter. And while I understand their purpose, and can't say I blame the owners for it, the cameras were uncomfortable. There is a camera on each porch, front and rear that looks towards the seating and grilling areas as well as the fire pit. There was also a camera on the far side of the house covering the backup generator and paid wood storage that looked towards the house and towards the kitchen and living room windows. It may or may not have been able to see into those windows but it made us uncomfortable at minimum. It's difficult to fully relax when you feel like you could be being watched. But overall we enjoyed our stay and felt the cabin was a good value.

This is an absolutely beautiful cabin with great proximity to Grayson Highlands State Park and surrounding open space. We did several stunning hikes during our stay, and only wished we had more time. The cabin is spotless, and feels like it’s brand new. It has everything you need, including super fast WiFi. The natural setting of the cabin is beautiful and quiet so we ate every meal outdoors on the porch or around the fire pit. This rental definitely has our top recommendation.

Great visit! Very secluded. Nestled between a Christmas tree farm, an old cemetery and the mountain hollows. Very clean space. All the kitchen essentials. My two girls slept in the two beds in the loft while I slept (and snored) in the comfy downstairs pullout couch. Roku on the TV let us sign into all our streaming services. Firepit outside had a great setting for roasting marshmallows. The steep gravel road up could be challenging for some cars, but our AWB Honda Pilot had not problems. There are two dogs at the last house before the cabin that run out and say a very emphatic HI! as you climb up, but they don't bother you otherwise. We enjoyed walking up the road above the cabin and seeing the old abandoned house, cemetery and tree farm on top of the hill. 30 minutes to West Jefferson and Damascus. 20 to Grayson Highlands. Have fun!

A quaint little cabin in the mountains. It’s in an excellent location for day hiking in Grayson Highlands and Mount Rogers. The cabin is quiet, comfortable, very clean, and has all the cooking utensils needed for basic meals. We enjoyed sitting outside on the front porch and listening to the birds.

My partner and I stayed at the property and absolutely loved it. The place was very clean minus the floors being a little dusty but honestly it wasn't that bad we just chose to wear our socks around the cabin. The complimentary wood pile was very well appreciated and enjoyed. Word of the wise there is NO cell service about a hour before you get to the cabin so make sure youve got your navigation pulled up prior, and have a wifi based call and text service (like what's app) that you can use to call and text people if you rely on having cell service to call or text because the wifi was amazing with no issues or lags. The air was amazing in the mountains and my partner and I took a trip up to the state park which was BEAUTIFUL. I would recommend staying here for anyone who wants to get away for a bit. Make sure to pack some snacks.

Perfect little cabin getaway with all the comforts of home. The complimentary coffee was much appreciated. Beds were comfortable and the porch was icing on the cake. The fire pit area was yet another nice outdoor area, but watch for ticks.

Absolutely PERFECT for what we needed. Close to Grayson Highlands where we hiked for a couple of days. Loved the tub too. We both used it after hiking on the Appalachian trail. We will definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed this "tiny cabin." It's very well laid out and outfitted for two (or maybe as many as four?) people. We loved watching the fireflies around the firepit. And it was very easy from there to get into Grayson Highlands state parks for some very nice day hikes.

Loved the remoteness of the property and the cabin was great and well appointed. The beds are a little small for someone over six feet. It is also very interesting to bath in the tub but we made it work. Loved the fire pit and the outdoor space. Although I understand the need for cameras by the front and back doors I was a little taken aback by the camera covering the yard. My wife and I felt like we were constantly under surveillance on the property. Overall, we would consider a return trip because of the cabins location to Grayson Highlands and the firepit.

Stayed at Anders Cabin for a weekend getaway with friends. The property was beautiful and we really enjoyed the beautiful fire pit area and comfortable chairs. My 2-wheel drive sedan did have some trouble getting up the steep gravel hill but luckily we made it. The interior of the cabin was fantastic. We loved all the modern finishings and the deep bathtub was very luxurious. The kitchen is stocked very well and we all noted that the beds in the loft were very comfortable. All in all a great stay!

My partner and I stayed at the property and absolutely loved it. The place was very clean minus the floors being a little dusty but honestly it wasn't that bad we just chose to wear our socks around the cabin. The complimentary wood pile was very well appreciated and enjoyed. Word of the wise there is NO cell service about a hour before you get to the cabin so make sure youve got your navigation pulled up prior, and have a wifi based call and text service (like what's app) that you can use to call and text people if you rely on having cell service to call or text because the wifi was amazing with no issues or lags. The air was amazing in the mountains and my partner and I took a trip up to the state park which was BEAUTIFUL. I would recommend staying here for anyone who wants to get away for a bit. Make sure to pack some snacks.

This place was perfect for a getaway to enjoy some peace and quiet away from the grind. We saw multiple deer each day and enjoyed the beauty of the area. Grayson Highlands State Park nearby. The owners were very helpful when we had questions.

Our family absolutely loved our stay in your cosy cabin & especially enjoyed the wood-burner fire. It was a little noisy in the middle of the night because there was a power cut & the generator kicked in! Not to be helped but slightly less sleep than we’d hoped for. Jon was very prompt at getting back to our messages & overall we’d definitely stay in this wonderful cabin again.

We had a great stay at this charming cabin. We arrived shortly after a rain storm with plans to enjoy the firepit and to our surprise found the patio chairs had been dried off recently. Planned hiking in Grayson Highlands Park and this place fit the bill being within 10 miles of the park. The cabin was small and secluded off the beaten path. We did experience a brief power outage during a thunderstorm in which Jon the owner was quick to respond with status. We thoroughly enjoyed a restful night at Wilson Creek and highly recommend it.

This was a perfect cabin getaway! Close proximity to some amazing hikes, extremely clean, and had everything we would ever need. Jon was also very quick to respond when I had a quick question. The fireflies were simply magical in the evening and we were lucky enough to see a beautiful fox run through the yard one night-it looked straight out of a storybook. We will definitely recommend to others looking for a place to stay in the area, and we would definitely stay here again! Thank you Jon and Marlene!

This is an absolutely beautiful cabin with great proximity to Grayson Highlands State Park and surrounding open space. We did several stunning hikes during our stay, and only wished we had more time. The cabin is spotless, and feels like it’s brand new. It has everything you need, including super fast WiFi. The natural setting of the cabin is beautiful and quiet so we ate every meal outdoors on the porch or around the fire pit. This rental definitely has our top recommendation.

We needed a stop on our way to West Virginia. We absolutely love the Grayson highlands park so I searched for something cute and close by. I was delighted to find this cabin and it exceeded our expectations. Quiet, peaceful and quick to the park! We’d definitely return for a longer stay.

Absolutely PERFECT for what we needed. Close to Grayson Highlands where we hiked for a couple of days. Loved the tub too. We both used it after hiking on the Appalachian trail. We will definitely stay here again.

A quaint little cabin in the mountains. It’s in an excellent location for day hiking in Grayson Highlands and Mount Rogers. The cabin is quiet, comfortable, very clean, and has all the cooking utensils needed for basic meals. We enjoyed sitting outside on the front porch and listening to the birds.

Beautiful little cabin close to Greyson Highlands. We were able to easily find it and loved it the minute we drove into the driveway. The cabin was perfect for us and the fire pit area was beautiful as well. We slept great and it was so quiet and peaceful. Coffee on the front porch in the morning was wonderful; we saw some deer and listened to the birds singing.

Enjoyed the cabin! It was secluded and peaceful. We got to enjoy the Grayson Highlands State Park, Creeper Trail, and fall colors. My husband's family owns a chimney sweep business so the woodstove and firepit were a hit! Thanks again!

Great little cabin if you are visiting the Grayson Highlands/Mt Rogers area (one of my favorite places to hike). Would make a perfect basecamp for day hikes and exploring or an excellent place to rest after backpacking. As noted, a 4x4 is a good idea, certainly if it's been raining or snow. But it's just the last bit of the driveway that is steep. Lovely place, will be back.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Anders Cabin. It is such a special little place in a very quiet, peaceful setting. It is a steep road up, but we had no difficulty with our CRV. The cabin was super clean and very comfortable. The whole property was impeccable. We appreciated the coffee and the well stocked kitchen and linens. Communication from Jon was very helpful. After long days of hiking at Grayson Highlands, the big tub and comfortable beds were a welcome way to end our days. We also enjoyed a fire on the patio and some star gazing. We were pleasantly surprised at how direct it was to get to Grayson Highlands as well. This is a place we would definitely like to visit again!

The cabin was perfect for me. The property was so pretty. It was so quiet and relaxing. I saw deer, heard turkeys, saw rabbits, and chipmunks. The kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfortable. I appreciated the tub after all the hiking I did. And so close to Grayson Highlands State Park. They also had pamphlets about all the things to do in the area.They also were very helpful to my partner when he reached out to them because he hadn’t heard from me. It was reassuring to know that.

Family friendly. Very clean. A true shower rather than bath with handheld would be an improvement. So glad we arrived in the daytime as it would have been a bit confusing to get to at night. Overall lovely one night stop!
