Wonderful small private owned hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Manager was very friendly and helpful at check in. Ate dinner and breakfast at the adjoined restaurant. Both very good. Breakfast was included.

At first it was skeptical because the property is under construction. It seems they are adding a few rooms and possibly an elevator. The room was spacious and comfortable. It’s in the middle of a small town with a craft store a short walk away. There is a river walk and a cafe also within walking distance. The breakfast was good and would have probably cost $50 (for two people )if you had to pay for it somewhere else. The key system lets you conveniently leave the hotel and reenter should you try to catch the northern lights in the middle of the night.

The property was currently under construction. It seems that they are adding more rooms. So, there was some pounding and construction noises going on. The stay was pretty nice. Comparable to the accommodations we experienced around most of Iceland. I wish they would've informed us about the construction before we showed up, but they did not.

Hotel is right on the main road with wonderful food trucks and carry out food options within walking distance as well as having an attached restaurant. Rooms are very clean. Hot breakfast buffet is very nice.

The hotel is conveniently located on route 1, not much around it, we stayed there our last night in Iceland finishing our ring road. We have to say it is just a limited hotel with little amenities, but we had our best lamb steak dinner there during our Iceland trip.

Not at all what I expected but it was ok. The outside of the property is dated and under construction but the room was very nice. Very basic, no frills hotel. Breakfast was ok, just the basics. The location is good. Store, bakery, restaurants within walking distance.

Is a good hotel to spend a night. Food is reasonable. Room was very hot. Mosquito outside cannot open the window. Since the hotel is carpeted, heavy carpet freshener smell throughout the hotel. The smell is not present and not welcoming.

The hotel was great and clean. Easy to find, rooms were clean and spacious, and bathrooms were clean and looked new/remodeled. Breakfast was nothing fancy but a nice option considering prices for eating out. I would recommend this hotel and stay again!

I was worried about the low price....oh my what a super clean and modern room! I would stay here a week and save a bundle. Neat piece of Iceland too, feels like everyday living, beautiful though! Highly recommendly if your main requirement is cleanliness like me!

The hotel appears relatively recently refurbished inside. Bathrooms and bedroom was clean. Surprisingly, the only real issue we had was that the room was too hot. There was a way to get the floor heat down enough to avoid making the room too warm and you can only open the windows a little bit. The staff to their credit was responsive and provided a fan, greatly appreciated The connected restaurant had good and reasonably priced food.

We were so exhausted, we all fell into the most comfortable beds and slept. The place was a bit dated but none of that mattered as everything was clean and wonderful. The only drawback is that the free breakfast came with spoiled milk and got all of us sick from drinking it.

This place seemed newly remodeled. The room was very nice the only complaint was the temperature was so hot in the room and no way to control it as there was no heater in the room or thermostat, the window did not really open more than an inch. other than that, the breakfast was really nice and convent. The staff were so nice and friendly.

I though this hotel was average at best. My biggest complaint was that there was no elevator. I also would have liked two pillows on each bed. The room however was fairly large and very clean.The food at their restaurant was good and we did enjoy their continental breakfast.

Check-in is efficient and the staff is friendly. Free breakfast is bonus; fresh fried eggs and bacon, several choices of yogurt, cereal, platters of tomatoes, cucumbers, ham, and cheese. Three different options of bread. Great meal to start the day. When we stayed, we were treated to a gorgeous Northern light show. This girl in Hella is a great place to stay on your way around the ring road, and the ideal place to stay before starting the Lagavegur trek! It is a quiet hotel with good beds and a decent restaurant, AND it is right across the road from the supermarket where the Trex bus stops both on its route up to Landmannalagur and it’s way back from Porsmork. The hotel managers were wonderfully kind and had photos ready to show us exactly where to wait for the bus and where to leave our car while we were gone. They even let us leave our extra suitcases in their storage room to save us from worrying about everything being stolen from our car while we were away.

Comfortable and clean room. Dinner at the restaurant was OK, breakfast was good. The room was chilly at first but the gentleman at the desk brought us a heater that heated the room up nicely.

Enjoyed our stay. The free breakfast was good. It was a little difficult finding the hotel entrance despite using Apple maps as the sign was not obvious and the map directed us to turn behind the building onto a different street.

Great location off of the highway after seeing the Golden Circle and heading south. We stopped here on our way to Vik. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. The bathroom was nice and had a good hair dryer. The breakfast included had a good variety of food. It was safe and close to a gas station. Enjoyed our stay, would recommend.

Hotel is right on the main road with wonderful food trucks and carry out food options within walking distance as well as having an attached restaurant. Rooms are very clean. Hot breakfast buffet is very nice.

Not at all what I expected but it was ok. The outside of the property is dated and under construction but the room was very nice. Very basic, no frills hotel. Breakfast was ok, just the basics. The location is good. Store, bakery, restaurants within walking distance.

The staff were very friendly. The hotel was a bit dated but it was comfortable and clean. In addition, renovations are underway. Bonus points for the heated bathroom floors. The breakfast was the stand out with eggs and bacon in addition to lunch meats. Worth the price for the value.

We were so exhausted, we all fell into the most comfortable beds and slept. The place was a bit dated but none of that mattered as everything was clean and wonderful. The only drawback is that the free breakfast came with spoiled milk and got all of us sick from drinking it.

Looks like they are doing some remodeling on the outside, but it seems like the rooms have recently been remodeled. Very comfortable, clean, and reasonably priced room. Had a few hot options in addition to the regular continental breakfast items.

The hotel is conveniently located on route 1, not much around it, we stayed there our last night in Iceland finishing our ring road. We have to say it is just a limited hotel with little amenities, but we had our best lamb steak dinner there during our Iceland trip.

Déçu du petit déjeuner. Il y a pas de chocolat chaud et j’ai demandé si il était possible d’en avoir un mais non. Sinon l accueil à notre arrivée le soir était parfait. J’ai demandé un second oreiller et on a pu manger un petit truc au restaurant malgré notre arrivée tardive

Amazing guesthouse, one of the best we had during our 12-day trip around Iceland! We had booked two other locations around Kanslarinn in the subsequent nights, and I wish we had just stayed in that one. Room and beds were great, private bathroom super, and we also enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. So much better than other accommodations!

It is terrible experience stay in this hotel, room is too small and three units share one central small entrance, someone is drying their boots on the heater, it made very bad smell in that enter area. Everything is old, room also has bad smell, towel is dirty, white but looks in grey.…. Didn’t see any staff, I just pickups the key in the named box and plug the key in the locker when left.
