La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Galveston North at I-45

Nice clean and comfortable beds. Able to leave vehicle during our cruise for small fee.

We had towels that were dirty. We stayed 4 days and not once did they clean our room or give us more towels. The phone in the room didn’t work. When I used my phone to call the front desk to ask for towels, I was told I could walk the halls to find a maid if I needed more. That she couldn’t be bothered to get some. There was water damage on the ceiling. We definitely won’t be staying there again. The pool was very cloudy and dirty looking.

Booked a 4 day stay. The pool was deep green when we arrived and after one day they tried to clean it. We were told the “pump broke”and pool was closed after that. 4 day stay with no pool was a disappointment due to this being a family trip.

Overall: A good value for the price. Details: My room was large, but looked heavily used and showed signs of wear. Not a big deal though. Decent view, bed was comfortable. There was no restaurant on site, and none were in reasonable walking distance. So if you're tired from your day and don't feel like driving somewhere for dinner and finding parking your only option is ordering delivery. The on-site self parking was convenient and you save a lot of money by not having a valet. The elevator takes you right down to the parking area. The location isn't near the more interesting areas, but the Galveston is small enough that everything is easy to drive to. The gym is small and basic, but it will get the job done. I didn't use the pool so I can't comment on that. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall it's a terrific value considering the price vs other hotels in the area. It's perfect if you're on a business trip, but may not be ideal if you're on vacation.

It was located right by I45 that made it easy to get to. Was plenty of parking some was cover and some wasn't. Great and friendly staff.

Three things didn't work during my stay: 1. AC wall unit wasn't working. 2. Bathtub drain was clogged and reported during the day, but maintenance wasn't available until the next day. 3. The gym was closed for maintenance for 3 days (throughout my stay at the hotel). Repair was promised when I checked in and it still wasn't available when I checked out.

The property was showcased as "renovated"; however, it was in poor condition (Rusty water from the bathtub, cracked tiles, dark water marks on several walls, a broken door in the public restroom, detached wallpaper in the breakfast area, and poor quality of the complimentary breakfast. Small room, small pool area (The pictures on the web show a larger perspective than the reality)

The parking is in the basement and you can’t use the elevator without a key so you have to check in to get your luggage

I stayed for 3 nights, the room wasn’t cleaned or restocked even once. I went to the front desk and they said that was normal and maid service is every three days. So I just asked if I could get a couple new towels and they said they were out of them and would bring some to my room later. The pool was disgustingly green and foggy. All the faucets on the tub and sink were loose. There was food remnants on the floor. Just overall dirty for a pretty new hotel

Property clean but our room was disgusting. My wife and 2 daughters didn’t even want to shower. Luckily we only stayed one night. Power went out so the ac didn’t work half way through the night. I’d like accommodations for a terrible stay. I’ll say the rest of the hotel was clean and the front desk staff was polite

I have stayed in different hotels and this one was a disappointment. Room was big enough for our over night stay before our cruise .But the bathroom counter had a roach on it. In the morning before leaving I want to let the receptionist know what we found but she totally ignored us and was too busy on her phone.

There was black mold around the outlets and blood droplets on the floor. Not cleaned well

On the site they rated this place a 4, I’m not sure how. The only thing presentable was the lobby. The hall way going to our room was filthy it needed to be be vacuumed. The room was terrible, the bed skirts were filthy and the bathroom was incredibly horrible 😢the bathtub was not clean and to make matters worse housekeeping left a dirty face cloth over top of the shower curtain. Ended up going getting cleansers to clean the bathroom . Spoke to the manager was told I would get a partial refund but have yet to see it. At this rate we travel there a lot last place I’ll ever stay. Very uncomfortable conditions…

Front desk was rude, and as soon as we stepped into our room there was a roach on the bed and bed bug on the floor

Bathroom needs some upgrades, bathtub was dirty and clogged. The floor was dirty ( we found acrílic nail ) .the night stand had sticky Candy stains and dusty.

This hotel is absolutely disgusting. When we checked in, we went to our room and found it hadn't been cleaned. All they did was make the beds and hope we wouldn't notice. They left the TV remote under the sheets, along with a bunch of wadded up tissues. The comforter had a urine stain on it. In addition to wadded up tissues, the beds had a bunch of hair in them. The bathroom had not been cleaned and there was more hair in the tub and all over the bathroom floor. The AC also wasn't working in the room. We had to switch rooms and the next one at least smelled clean, so that was an improvement I guess. The staff acted like it was my fault I didn't like the dirty room they didn't clean. Then, on the day we checked out, one of the staff just came barging into the room with their key, no knock, nothing. They assumed we had checked out but we had not. It wasn't even check out time when they came in. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

The hallways haven’t been vacuumed in a long time. When we got to our room there was a dirty sock in the corner of the room next to the bed from the previous guest which leads me to believe our room was not vacuumed.

When attempting to call the front desk for housekeeping, there was no answer. We only had 1 roll of tissue to use over our entire stay. Upon checking into the room itself, it wasn't cleaned with strange hair strewn about the restroom floor. The sole staff member that greeted us did their best but it wasn't adequately staffed throughout our stay.

The room was dirty. Towels stained, shower had mold/mildew everywhere! Shower curtain gross! The front desk was less than helpful! My dad put his medication in the fridge and then remembered he forgot it, we called and of course they claimed it was not there.

We enjoyed our stay. Our room was by the elevator which made it a little noisy. Overall we were satisfied.

The room was good, the people were friendly. It was cold when we checked in. The heater didnt work and frooze my ass off all night. Other than that everything was good. Stayed here before, first time had an issue.

Room was very dark. Poor lightning. Brown stuff came out of faucet when turning on shower. Long hairs in bathroom sink. Mini fridge loud noise. the room type I reserved was not given nor was the request to be away from the elevator.

Though the stay overall was fine, when we arrived, front staff was cold and unwelcoming. Immediately had to change rooms due to a stain on the bed and dirty mirrors. After moving we realized wifi is $5/day, you can’t cast to the tv, and no options to stream from things like Netflix/hulu. My kids were with me so we just kept Disney channel on but they were bummed. When walking down the hallway, you can hear the conversations occurring in the rooms you pass by. There were areas like under and around the ac, under the sink, sides of the bed that were either dirty or had odd stains. Also the room lighting situation was odd. As for the positive, though the pool is small, it was perfect for my kids and they loved it. The cleaning staff and kitchen staff are delightful. The beds were comfortable. The staff was kind as we checked out. There were always clean towels and the bathroom was clean. Breakfast was really sparse but okay. My kids only cared about the waffle machine. Communal areas were clean and aesthetically pleasing. Overall if I couldn’t find anything in a pinch, I’d go back but only as a family. I had a second trip scheduled in the same hotel but ended up canceling during my stay. Not the place I would choose to stay with my husband or by myself. There are so many options in the area. We will try something else next time.

Checkin awesome! Deluxe King room is huge, I said you could bring a basketball team with sleeping bags n have room. Comfortable bed, good water pressure and hot water. Coffee maker n refrigerator. Only shampoo and soap. Cleanliness could use help a few items still there from prior person and floor so so. No bar or bistro on premises. Nothing really close to get something to eat. Breakfast limited but basics n lady who works it is super. Checkout employee awesome.

Our room door would not close. You could just push on it to open. We locked it at night. However, if we had been staying more than one night our room was not secure. I reported it once we got in the room. Front desk said to slam it but that did not work. We reported it again at checkout.

Room wasn’t up to par. One of our rooms didn’t have a shower curtain. The tube handle fell off. Beds weren’t comfortable.

The property was clean and comfortable. The room we stayed in was loud. We could hear the conversations of the guests next door, sharing a common wall. The guests were speaking in a normal tone yet we could hear them late into the night, making it difficult to get to sleep.

My only complaint, if you can even call it that, was that the room was humid and that made the sheets feel damp. Once we adjusted the air it seemed to get better. They need to pay attention to the air control.

I would not choose to stay here again due to a series of frustrating experiences. First and foremost, I was unaware that I needed to specifically request housekeeping services for my room and fresh towels during my stay. After my first night, I approached the front desk to ask for our room to be cleaned, but unfortunately, that request was overlooked. The following evening, I brought it up again, only to be met with a dismissive response from the night shift staff who informed me that there was nothing they could do to rectify the situation. This lack of assistance was quite disappointing, as I expected a higher level of service. Additionally, I encountered another issue: the shower drains took an excessively long time to empty after use, leaving standing water that was not ideal for such an establishment. On the third day of my stay, I had a conversation with Keisha at the front desk. She apologized for the communication breakdown regarding room cleaning services and assured me that our room would finally be attended to. True to her word, it was cleaned that day, but it shouldn't have taken multiple requests to get to that point. Overall, my experience left me feeling that La Quinta's service quality has significantly declined, and I hope they can make improvements moving forward.

Upon our arrival, one of our reserved rooms was not available. Both rooms had been prepaid 2 weeks in advance; however, we were informed that the hotel had overbooked & the hotel had until 4pm to have the room ready. Prior to our arrival, we had called to confirm early check-in at 2pm, and Alex, a hotel attendant, received supervisor approval for this request 2 days prior. When we arrived, we spoke with another attendant, Keisha, who questioned, “Who told you that you could have early check-in?” She was disrespectful in telling us not to return until 4pm for any update on room availability. This was especially troubling because this trip was a Christmas gift for my daughter & her family. We had traveled nearly 4 hrs and expected to rest in our room before attending the Moody Gardens event later that afternoon. Additionally, my 80-year-old husband and one of my grandchildren, who is 9 months old, urgently needed rest upon arrival. Because the room was unavailable, my husband was unable to rest and consequently did not have the energy to attend the Moody Gardens events. Instead, he was forced to nap in the car in the hotel parking garage. When we returned from Moody Gardens after 7:30pm., we were finally able to access the second room. We asked Alex when the room had become available, & she stated between 5:30 & 6pm. Given the inconvenience lack of communication, & the impact on our family, we believe we are entitled to a partial refund or credit on a future reservation.

Mrs. Keisha was very helpful and nice. She made sure that I had an easy check in/out. This will always be the place where I'll stay when I visit Galveston. Really enjoyed it!

When I got to the hotel, they told us they cancelled our reservation the day before. They claimed they spoke to us. All we found was they left a voice mail. They did not help us find a replacement.

Beware of this property charging fraudulent charges to your credit card. I booked and paid in full through Expedia weeks prior to my trip. Upon checking in a $25.00 hold was requested for incidentals which is customary and fine. After checking out, I noticed a higher charge of $254 that was charged to my card. I notified the property by phone and was advised that they weren't notified by Expedia that it was prepaid so they charged my card without authorization. To this date, I have not been refunded for this fraudulent charge.Expedia also tried to reach out to the hotel as eell to rectify this but were unsuccessful. Stay away from this hotel!

Not a huge parking area but seemed adequate. Clerk at check in was extra nice, helpful and friendly.

It did not feel super safe and access from the parking lot is non existent until you check in.

I really liked the staff and hotel overall the breakfast was average but the location was not the greatest without a vehicle it cost me a 15$ Lyft every time I left or came back you may be able to walk it but I was not comfortable with it due to the lack of sidewalks and we ordered in supper due to the lack of any nearby restaurants if you are spending any time in Galveston I would recommend a different location but as a stopover before a cruise I would highly recommend this hotel

My family of four stayed here the night before our first cruise. The location was convenient near the Cruise terminals. We were able to do an early check-in which was nice. There was cucumber lemon water in the lobby which was also nice, we filled up our water bottles a couple times with it. The outdoor pool area was small and right next to a parking lot. The ambiance wasn't so great, but at least there was a pool and my kids had fun playing around in it. The doorway to get outside to the pool however was hard to open. Our room was spacious but not very clean. It would have been nice to have a little table to eat.

The hotel is not within walking distance of restaurants, but you can order in.

Hotel was nice! Very convenient for the purpose of getting to the Galveston Cruise Port. Easily accessible for transportation from the airport.

The location was walking distance to shopping. The staff was amazing providing assistance and directions to the Galveston port for our cruise. Very helpful. Overall stay was excellent.

The beds were comfortable, and it was quiet. Breakfast was okay, but it needed some more options.

The manager and staff were very good. They unfortunately didn’t receive their food delivery the first day of our stay and breakfast as a result was disappointing. The manager went above and beyond to ensure that I had orange juice for my breakfast the next morning. I appreciate his attentiveness and thoughtful attitude.

We went to breakfast and there were NO CUPS—-asked to use bar glasses but they were locked?? Suddenly after I went upstairs to get cups from my room CUPS APPEARED. Not the kind of cups you can buy at a store. Another lady who looked more like the worker asked and BOOM ! Magic cups!

Stayed here before cruise. Have a great shuttle service to take you to port for small fee like $11. The room was really nice. Bed was amazing and very clean room. Front staff extremely friendly! Breakfast wasn’t great but typical hotel breakfast. Would stay again !!
