The woman at the front desk was fabulous, very friendly and accommodating. But I felt uneasy immediately when she had to buzz me in for safety reasons. The motel is on a main thoroughfare, with other motels, restaurants and local businesses all along it. She put me on ‘the quiet side’ of the building. Between the property’s security system at the front door and mention of a quiet side I wondered if there was a dangerous element in the neighborhood that I couldn’t see. When I went to find my room I discovered the property was in shambles. Along the exterior chunks of paint and wall covering were missing. On the inside furniture was missing, there was a big hole in the wall and the mattress was higher at the foot than the head of the bed with a big sag in the middle. I went to get some dinner, figuring I’d bring in my luggage afterwards. Instead, I decided not to go back and found somewhere else to stay. I know the chain is a lower cost option, but the condition of this property was impoverished. I’ve stayed at other Red Roof Inns that were better…no frills, but kept up. After this awful experience I will hesitate to ever stay at another Red Roof Inn. I’ve lost confidence in what I’ll find.

The trip started off entering a dark parking area. Nobody was at the front desk and the entry doors were glass and hadn’t been cleaned probably ever. Once I was in it was smooth but my wife was approached by several “disheveled folks” looking for money while in the car. I asked about the 15-minute cancellation policy that was posted and if anyone used it. She said “oh yes many times this week “. I got my keys and went to check the room. It smelled terrible, and I shot a video to use if this “no refund “ room was going to be a problem. The bed had a white comforter with significant stains, the furniture looked like it was rejected from Goodwill, and the smoke detector was making the beep from a low battery and actually was covered in a plastic bag so people could obviously smoke.

It smelled of cigarette smoke all over the property , it was construction outside, there was a roach in my room and none of the outlets worked . The lights; to charge my phone, nothing. The bathroom door was literally a tall piece of wood; there was no handle and it was too big for the door hole so it wouldn’t even close. The bathroom light didn’t work showered in the dark. I was concerned about staying here, but the inside pictures looked decent and we were desperate because it was Parent's Weekend. I even brought my own bedding just in case. Unfortunately it was beyond consideration. We immediately requested and refund. It was so dirty, bedding was stained, floors flithy, mold in the shower, holes in the wall, and when I saw a huge bug crawling in the broken phone, we left!

This motel is the worse I’ve ever been in and when I tell you there was roaches (bugs) everywhere, I literally kill one and another one comes from outta nowhere. I saw baby roaches at first and then all of sudden the big ones was coming out. The sheets had big stains on them and the wash cloths was so old they needed to been thrown away last year. They was dirty looking and that’s from them being too old which they was and not using bleach. I would NEVER stay there again, I rather sleep in my car which I ended up doing because I couldn’t take the bugs anymore. It was. Waste of money $77 a waste of money because I checked in at 4pm but was outta there by 8pm. I advise people to reconsider before stay there, please please please take my words “ DONT STAY THERE UNLESS YOU WANT BUGS TRAVELING WOTH YOU

This was the worst hotel I have ever been to. The sheets and pillow cases were stained if they were even washed. The room smelled like an ashtray, the floors were dirty with mold and mildew around the base boards and around the bath tub. The ceiling was cracked and falling down around the bathroom light and there was no shower curtain. I didn’t even take pictures because I had to leave the room and did not want to go back in. I felt like I needed a shower after being in the room for less than 5 minutes.

Upon arrival, the bed had yellow stains and tears on the comforter. Holes that have been plastered, not painted, door frame ripped off the bathroom. Exposed wires coming out of outlet, sink was brutally cracked. It was graduation weekend at ECU for my daughter, so I was forced to stay there. Never ever again. I'm fumigating and sanitizing everything I had to bring.

Check in was ok. Ince i got checked in and proceeded to my room the key card would not work. I went to the front desk they fould get it work, so i got another room. I ger in the roim to find coaches crawling, the sheets was stained, holes in walls bathroom was terrible. The remote didnt work, nor the microwave. The cover was missing in the back of the door wires and battery pack exposed. Major upkeep and upgrades needed

I knew it wouldn’t be perfect. My room had a terrible door system. You have to time it almost perfectly to open. Most hotel doors will read the key and then give you a second to open. This door was like instant. If you didn’t open it as soon as it read the card you were not getting in. Not a safe door if you need to enter quickly. Also the safety latch inside was broken. Then the walls were not painted. You can see they did a plumbing job and just didn’t finish with painting. Finally the roaches!!! Ugh. I mean at least invest in pest control. The door didn’t seal so I know they just have their way in and out. We needed to bring our dogs that weren’t small so this was the only place that would take them. The staff was helpful for sure but this place needed a lot of attention.

This was the worst place we have ever stayed in. The key would NOT work, it took them 3 days to correct this. No maid service unless you asked for it, overpriced and some tenants were smoking dope everytime you had to go outside your room it reeked. No chair to sit in, no coffee maker, nothing was as described when I booked this place. This was not a pleasure trip. We had a Family member in the hospital that passed away on the 2nd day we were there. This place needs new management quickly and somebody that knows what they are doing. The young maintenance guy, Brandon was all we got, was top notch at his job. He kept us in towels, tissue and got the key lock fixed after the front manager told him about it on the third morning. He was Nice, Professional and Very Courteous to us. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone had what they needed. This young man needs a raise for all he does. We saw him several mornings at 7:30 am working and still working at 10 and 11 at night.

Our stay was ok. The black women at front desk was wonderful, respectful, and friendly. There this housekeeping old couple barley speaks English. So they claim, they keep banging on my door for service or when I'm checking out. My bathroom and towels was dirty lucky I had my bleach spray. After servals times I said hold I'm naked or in the bathroom. They just keeping banging on the door. On top of that, they invade your privacy. They go in your room when you tell them not too because I had a dog. My dog is friendly when I am present but come in without me present can cause issue I dont want. This Indian lady knocking on my door. After told her our remote is good and we don't want service. You know what she did. She disregard what I said. Came knocking anyways and then barged her way in. My boyfriend was asleep naked. He woke up shocked and jumped. My dog sense there was an issue and could have bitten her. My dog is friendly but you must be introduced first. She continue to talked and say its front desk telling her no service. They don't listen and I'm very uncomfortable that housekeeping and management can just enter your room you paid for. Without any notification or anything that will warrant you to enter without permission. One thing made it more creepy was the owner was standing by my door for awhile. I watched him when I was at the store acrossed the street to see what he was going to do. They need English speaking workers. Don't bother me with I speak no English.
Our stay was ok. The black women at front desk was wonderful, respectful, and friendly. There this housekeeping old couple barley speaks English. So they claim, they keep banging on my door for service or when I'm checking out. My bathroom and towels was dirty lucky I had my bleach spray. After servals times I said hold I'm naked or in the bathroom. They just keeping banging on the door. On top of that, they invade your privacy. They go in your room when you tell them not too because I had a dog. My dog is friendly when I am present but come in without me present can cause issue I dont want. This Indian lady knocking on my door. After told her our remote is good and we don't want service. You know what she did. She disregard what I said. Came knocking anyways and then barged her way in. I had made reservations throughs Hotels.com. Red Roof inn did not honor my reservations. There were at least 4 other people that had the same issue. The staff did not try to work with me. I will not make reservations with Hotels.com or with Red Roof inn

Don’t know, I booked and paid for may stay a month ago through Hotels.com and when I went to check in the hotel did not have any record of my reservation. Tried calling Hotels.com to clear it up and all I could get is a damn computer that would only resend my confirmation email but the hotel had no record of it.

Other than Bobby and Tina and their assistance, this stay was the worst RR I have been to. There was hair in the tub, the A/C unit couldn't get hot and one of the beds were missing a blanket. They apparently had no more blankets. Bobby was nice enough to check the unit out and gave us 2 sheets because he didn't have access to get more blankets. The towels were dirty with black all over. I went to get replacements and Bobby asked one of the staff if there were any more towels, the man checked and had none. Laundry wasn't done and the person with the key to the storage wasn't there. I had to dry with my dry clean clothes. The sink was broken and leaked. There was trash and a earring in the room. Thank you, Mr. Bobby again for yours and Mrs.Tina's help. We appreciate you also giving us the discount on the room for the inconveniences that had occurred. You succeeded in all areas in the aspect of what you done to help us, and your kindness. Mr. Bobby keep that energy.

The best thing about this hotel was the very nice young lady who checked us in. She had to help us get in our room and she brought me an extra pillow. She was very nice and helpful but the hotel overall was in poor shape.

When we arrived at the hotel, the person checked us in. Upon getting to the room, there were cigarette burns in the sheets, the room was incredibly dirty and after pulling back the sheets there were tons of stains and evidence of bed bugs. I spoke with the front desk who said they could switch the room, and as we were talking another couple came in with the same complaint about their room. The desk staff then became upset and said we need to contact Expedia and they could not do anything for us. We left and ended up having to stay else where due to the room conditions.

The woman at the front desk was fabulous, very friendly and accommodating. But I felt uneasy immediately when she had to buzz me in for safety reasons. The motel is on a main thoroughfare, with other motels, restaurants and local businesses all along it. She put me on ‘the quiet side’ of the building. Between the property’s security system at the front door and mention of a quiet side I wondered if there was a dangerous element in the neighborhood that I couldn’t see. When I went to find my room I discovered the property was in shambles. Along the exterior chunks of paint and wall covering were missing. On the inside furniture was missing, there was a big hole in the wall and the mattress was higher at the foot than the head of the bed with a big sag in the middle. I went to get some dinner, figuring I’d bring in my luggage afterwards. Instead, I decided not to go back and found somewhere else to stay. I know the chain is a lower cost option, but the condition of this property was impoverished. I’ve stayed at other Red Roof Inns that were better…no frills, but kept up. After this awful experience I will hesitate to ever stay at another Red Roof Inn. I’ve lost confidence in what I’ll find.

The trip started off entering a dark parking area. Nobody was at the front desk and the entry doors were glass and hadn’t been cleaned probably ever. Once I was in it was smooth but my wife was approached by several “disheveled folks” looking for money while in the car. I asked about the 15-minute cancellation policy that was posted and if anyone used it. She said “oh yes many times this week “. I got my keys and went to check the room. It smelled terrible, and I shot a video to use if this “no refund “ room was going to be a problem. The bed had a white comforter with significant stains, the furniture looked like it was rejected from Goodwill, and the smoke detector was making the beep from a low battery and actually was covered in a plastic bag so people could obviously smoke.

This property was not as shown in the picture. ALL rooms smelt like smoke. Druggies were hanging out everywhere outside the building in the parking lot. The lobby looked like it had never been cleaned. There are no blankets on beds. The floors looked like a dog had ripped them up. Horrible hotel. I will not ever stay at RED ROOF again or use EXPEDIA.

I asked and paid for a non smoking room,it reeked of smoke. No hair dryer,coffee maker or iron in the room. The surrounding area was in my opinion unsafe,people smoking strange smelling stuff just hanging around,in one room a big pit bull in the window,looked more like a place for vagrants . the bathroom was filthy, they didn’t have any tissue the light did not work, they had people standing outside smoking weed right by our room they had people selling drugs, when i came to checkout the lady was telling another customer that their microwave was broken and was cursing very unprofessional and dirty disgusting hotel i paid $220 for this room and never again!! i will never ever book at this hotel ever again

If less than a 1 star were possible that is what I would give it. Bedspreads had stains and holes. Bath towels were still damp. NO hand towels or wash cloths. NO hair dryer, even though the desk gal said she would find and bring us one. Never happened. No cups, NO soap. No coffee. Horrible. Worst hotel experience ever.

This was by far the worst hotel we have stayed in as far as cleanliness. My partner saw German roaches in the bathroom. Stains on the walls. Sheets had a few stains on them as well. Overall when we got there it felt damp and moist. Staff was friendly though.

Reserved a NONsmoking room. Unable to stay in the room due to strong smoke smell. Desk attendent said no rooms are really considered nonsmoking at this site and attempted to improve the issue with deodorizing spray. The main door was not functional, they said it would be fixed the next day. Did not stay and ended up getting another room at a different hotel.

My reservation had been cancelled and I wasn’t aware of it. They said they had been overbooked. Guys at the front desk were very apologetic. It was odd that they were overbooked and cancelled my reservation but offered me a room for $240 when I had only paid $92. It was graduation weekend at ECU. My guess is they knew they could get more for the room that weekend and that’s why they cancelled reservations. I refused to pay $240 a night at this hotel. Expedia finally got them to let them book the room for the price I had originally paid. The room was just ok. Newer furniture. Bed was just ok. Not the most comfortable but not the worst. Shower was not clean. I saw several hairs left in it. I had to rinse it out before I used it. There was no shampoo or conditioner in the dispenser. Good thing I brought my own just in case. There was also no hair dryer (Which I did need), no iron (which I did need), no lamps and no USB to charge my phone or watch. I got up really early and left. I would recommend a quick overnight stay here but not an extended stay. You could tell they’ve done some painting and updates themselves. I think it’s just a very old building and needs major updates by a professional.
