Sandy Lane Cottage in Reydon

We had a very enjoyable stay at Sandy Lane Cottage. The cottage was clean, well equipped and comfortable. A great location 10 min walk from Southwold. Only downside was the main bedroom could do with some blackout curtains for a more enjoyable holiday lay in.

Overall, the cottage was well presented and stylishly decorated. it has tasteful interior design, eg artwork on the walls, colour schemes, themed ornaments. Both bathrooms were clean and well appointed. However, the venetian blinds on the lounge window and upstairs front bedroom windows were covered with dust as was the DVD player when we pulled it out to use it. The sofa was disgusting - it was very badly stained! Doors were grubby with grey, sticky finger prints and two storage baskets in the kitchen needed the fabric liners to be removed and washed. The shower temperature was scalding hot but luckily, my son, who works for British Gas, was able to adjust the temperature on the boiler. The back bedroom could have benefitted from blackout curtains to prevent the sun shining in brightly at 6am and waking the occupant of the room. The Yale lock on the front door is situated so high that I, being 5 foot, could not reach it. The outside gate is hung incorrectly and, therefore, bars access to the front door, causing my daughter to walk into it whilst unloading luggage. Finally, it is a shame that we couldn't park outside because I have some mobility issues but to be fair we were aware of this when we booked.

A lovely well equipped and clean house. Southwold is walkable and there is a lovely corner shop just around the corner. The house is let down by some maintenance issues which need a little "TLC".

Great location. 15 minute walk into southwold. Clean and spacious. Well equipped kitchen. Everything we needed for a long weekend away
