The Property was quite lovely. The staff was outstanding. David the bartender was wonderful to deal with. However the bar needs a better selection of wine by the glass. Big reason very few people go to the bar. Overall we really enjoyed our stay there.

This place needs a major renovation. The beds are horrible, hard, the pillow are hard and flat, towels are dingy and the wifi sucks in the bedrooms. I complained and they said they fixed it well they didn’t. The pool has cracks inside the only thing great is the location to the ferry and the breakfast was good.

Overall great staff besides the bar staff on in the evening. Quite rude, when asked her about Italian red wines, she just said to choose between red or white. Asked which one is a heavy red, she said they are all the same. Terrible attitude and rude. Every other staff were great. Great hotel located perfectly in Menaggio.

Good hotel, convenient; very kind friendly staff. It is dated so we did not have hot water first night. The rooms decor is old but okay. Spacious enough. The AC does not turn on because it is cooler times, no choice but need to open the semi balcony door for cool air / circulation however bugs will come in. Had to clip the curtain together with hair clip and spray curtain with bug spray to prevent bugs from entering. Have to close doors by dawn to stop ferry noises, or mum the public’s chit chatting voices. The piano bar is classy when someone is playing. The pool is semi warm, swimmable for sure. Short walk to town square.

Hotel is amazing with gorgeous Water front views and beautiful seating along the water front and nice pool. The downtown of MENAGGIO is a 3 minute walk , the.entire town is on the beautiful water front of Lake Como and has cute shops and many quaint restaurants with outdoor dining options . Every restaurant is surrounded by beautiful flower pots and lighted umbrellas over tables.Ferry landing is 2 minute walk from the hotel to catch Ferry around Lake Como. Excellent town to base your stay for your Lake Como visit.

Wir hatten einen sehr freundlichen Empfang, ein schönes Zimmer zum See (empfehlenswert, da ruhiger) super Reinigungsdame. Die Lage ist sehr gut. Direkt am Fähranleger (wir haben das Auto komplett stehenlassen) und 2 Min. Zu Fuß in den Ort. Frühstück war Top mit frischem Obstsalat und Eierspeisen nach Wunsch. Würden dort jederzeit wieder wohnen!

The location and positioning of this hotel is hard to beat. The building is still very grand, although the check in lobby is very underwhelming and the breakfast room is rather sterile. The once elegant interiors are tired and peeling wallpaper is evident throughout. Despite that, it is still a lovely hotel with a beautiful garden and pool area, delicious breakfast buffet, and a superb location.

Not worth the money. The place is beautiful on the outside but terribly needs renovation on the inside. Mold in the hallways- rooms are out of date, shower didn’t work when we originally got there. Staff was great overall but gave us wrong info for the ferry so we missed the ferry leaving because of it. Overall not bad but not worth the cost.

This is by no means a 4-star hotel. At best it’s 3 stars. The rooms are old and tired and have a damp odor. The staff is wholly unhelpful - they wouldn’t help make restaurant reservations and weren’t really helpful for providing advice for activities. The food at the hotel is mediocre at best. Also (and this is more of a hotels.com issue) this hotel shows is being something like 1.5 miles from Bellagio. As the aero flies, this is true, but there is a lake in your way so to get to Bellagio you must take a ferry - or drive around the lake for about two hours.

Everything in the room was falling apart, from door handle to shower door handle, toilet seat lose, broken towel bar, etc. Worst smelling shower gels. Asked for two wine glasses in the room and was told they were too busy and to come to the bar to pick up. Overpriced because of location. Food was average at best.

.Nous avons passé un excellent séjour danc ce très bel hôtel très bien situé avec vue sur le lac .excellent petit dejeuner .tout etait à la hauteur sauf la chambre et surtout la salle de bains qui ne meritent pas le prix payé .trés petite douche coincée contre le lavabo dans laquelle on rentre de profil et encore...Chambre à moderniser .C'est dommage pour un tel hôtel.

Everything was ok, nice view, nice restaurant. Only the bathroom was very cramped and it was very difficult to use the shower. You had to practically walk through the toilet.

Really lovely hotel, would not hesitate to stay there again. Only “issue” was that the hotel AC was not on yet, and the room was quite warm. Opening the balcony door helped, of course, but would keep blowing open so not something to leave open all night.

An excellent hotel, very well maintained, right on the lake and next to the ferry terminal. The breakfasts are particularly superb and the dining options are very good indeed. Plenty of helpful bar and dining staff. Only minor criticisms are: - tourist advice at the front desk. Certainly they try to help but are generally very very busy. While everywhere else is, if anything, overstaffed the front desk is understaffed. - no turndown service to the bedrooms and a small complementary chocolate - a Nespresso coffee machine in the rooms!

The Property was quite lovely. The staff was outstanding. David the bartender was wonderful to deal with. However the bar needs a better selection of wine by the glass. Big reason very few people go to the bar. Overall we really enjoyed our stay there.

Lovely hotel from the waterfront. Breakfasts were wonderful and restaurant staff excellent. At check in, we did not feel warmly greeted at all. The staff seemed a bit too busy for us. We also needed their help because our luggage was lost for the first day, and we had hope that they would help us work with the airline, but there was no one to help us at the front desk at all. The rooms also are dated and the bathrooms very uncomfortably situated with the showers very small and the whole bathroom very dark.

My wife and I and our 9 month old baby stayed here and the staff were excellent. They were friendly, only too willing to help/offer advice and made a real fuss of our baby! We had a beautiful view from our view and the location was excellent being close to both the ferries and centre of menaggio. We are already planning our next trip!

My daughter and I stayed here and your first greeted with the view thru the lobby! They were so accommodating as our room wasn't ready(arrived to early). They stored our luggage and offered us beach towels to enjoy the pool. They offer a great breakfast, the afternoon, the bar offers a great lunch and a nice supper at the restaurant. Location was awesome, right beside ferry to other towns. Walkable to lots of other restaurants and shops. Banks and pharmacy near by. Will definitely be staying again!

Location was great but the staff was lacking. Front desk was horrible. Did not give knowledgeable information on dining, not help resolving problems, was told we would have a porter to help at 3 am but they do not report to work until 7 am. The pool is clean and warm, with plenty of sun loungers lining the area between the pool and lake. Breakfast was well organised, with plenty of choice. The hotel is a little 'older' in style, but very nice. It's not in the tourist area but it is right next to the ferry area. If you are traveling using pulic transportation, taking the train to Varenna and then Ferry across to the hotel is easy. Better than taking the bus from Como S. Giovanni. Although the bus stop is directly in front of the hotel. Menaggio side of the lake you will see the sunrise. Varenna side sees the sunset. Bellagio sees both but is larger and full of tourist. The Grand Hotel Menaggio allows you to be close to tourist areas, but be away from them enough that it's quiet and peaceful. Would stay here again.

Es fehlt zum Beispiel ein Kosmetikspiegel, Ablageplatz im Bad, Kaffeemaschine im Zimmer, WC lottert und Spülung läuft immer. Ausgeleierte Geräte im Fitnessraum usw. Zugang nur über steile Treppe. Frühstück ist gut mit Aushame des Kaffee. Die Aussicht ist wunderschön.

L'hôtel est très agréable, il donne sur le lac et il est idéalement placé, en plein cœur de Menaggio. Piscine hyper agréable. Le restaurant donne directement sur le lac (nous avons dîné deux fois à l'hôtel pris nos petits-déjeuners) : cest calme et magnifique !

We loved this hotel. It is right by the ferry and there is a market next door for any items you may have forgotten. Our room wasn't real big but sufficient. Great breakfast and great view. The hotel staff were very friendly, especially the bellhop! He was great! Been there close to 50 years.

Everything in the room was falling apart, from door handle to shower door handle, toilet seat lose, broken towel bar, etc. Worst smelling shower gels. Asked for two wine glasses in the room and was told they were too busy and to come to the bar to pick up. Overpriced because of location. Food was average at best.

One of the most elegant hotels I've ever stayed in. Beautiful architecture and art work with the most amazing views of Lake Como. The pool and surround grounds were perfect for relaxation. The breakfast had made to order plates and t g e buffet items were extensive. Every staff member were very attentive to our needs.

Check in was easy and efficient, but the front desk staff were not to the level I would expect for a 4 star property. Positives: The breakfast buffet is great with a very wide range of options and very attentive staff for ordering drinks, and the location on the lake is really lovely to sit by the pool and enjoy the view. The pool and patio area staff were all very friendly and attentive. Negatives: For the rating of the property the rooms are quite small and dated with lots of wear and tear visible and the AC unit in our room was excessively loud, to the point we couldn't watch TV or really have a normal conversation. After the first night we informed the front desk of the issue and they claimed to contact a technician who would assess it. I followed up with them later the same day, approx. 9hrs later and was just told he had been contacted with no estimate of when/if he was coming. The front desk staff were unhelpful an indifferent. We stayed 3 nights and nothing was done to address the issue, luckily the 3rd night cooled down and we were able to open the windows and adjust the temperature so the fan didn't run, however it was then not possible to turn the AC back on the next day. Extremely frustrating in the hot weather. Overall this property is absolutely not to a 4 star standard in my opinion, and is vastly overpriced for the condition and size of the rooms and the service which is offered. Very disappointing on what should have been an anniversary celebration.
