Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Oakhurst Yosemite

Pros: Clean and comfortable. Cons: First and most important to me…once there they charge a 10$ parking fee. Now, this is a run of the mill parking lot. Not a covered parking lot…not a fancy parking lot. Yet, they charge 10$ a vehicle. I did notice the parking lot included dog poo and old banana peels. While they aren’t to blame for customers nasty habits-they apparently could afford a parking lot attendant to clean the area if they wanted to. The breakfast was abit lacking to…not terrible but not the best I ve seen.

Limited streaming on TV. Internet/wifi does not work. Room amenities were not filled. Laundry requires app to use but no way to download app. Staff was friendly but they are working under less than ideal conditions.

They charge extra for parking. Breakfast was weak, powdered eggs and undercooked sausage.

Nice staff. My kids liked the pool at this property. The hotel offers nice, clean room and great food for breakfast.

We had a great stay in Oakhurst! Our staff was so nice and the pool was fantastic. Nice cold AC after hiking yosemite all day was appreciated. We can't wait to come again.

Our stay was extremely disappointing. There was no power for over 12 hours, which made the experience very uncomfortable. We had to leave at night in search of a more suitable place just to get some relief. To make matters worse, the staff was rude and completely unhelpful during the situation. Their lack of responsibility and poor attitude made a bad situation even worse. Definitely would not recommend staying here.

Overall we like the Fairfield Inn at Oakhurst. The hotel is attractive and convenient, the complimentary breakfast was good, the room was good, and we LOVED the attractive window screen with the beautiful picture of the trees in the woods. Although the staff was nice and Leah was helpful when I was having trouble with accessing the internet, we were disappointed and surprised at check-out when we received a statement for $20 for parking ($10 per night for 2 nights) At check-in, when we provided our card for incidentals, AND when the gal gave us the parking pass, she should have advised us that we would be charged $10 per night. I checked the Fairfield Inn Oakhurst website a couple of days before our arrival and did NOT see any information about a parking charge. We travel a lot, and I can't remember ever being charged for outdoor parking in city the size of Oakhurst. Although currently their website DOES indicate $10 parking charge, when I checked it out 2 days before AND June 16th when we checked out, you had to click on "MORE" to find out about the parking charge. Obviously $20 won't make or break us....but we should have been advised at check-in when staff asked for our credit card (standard procedure) AND when we were given the parking pass. I will send the photo to Fairfield corporate and to Expedia.

The Rooms are Dark, they need more Lighting. When you need hot water in the Bathroom Sink it takes up to 4 or 5 Minutes. I may have missed it when I was booking this room, but I couldn’t believe them Charging $12.00 for Damn Parking. This is Crazy in a little Town. This is a very Sneaky to get Additional $$$$. I will watch Closer in the Future as I will Refuse to Stay in Their Hotels!!!

The room didn’t look cleaned when we checked in . We were short on everything! Next day after the visit to the park , the room wasn’t cleaned . Apparently, you have to request cleaning service . The breakfast was ok . When you spend $300 a night for the hotel , you expect a little more …

Had issue with cleanliness of bedding. Breakfast was poor. Disappointed for the price paid.

Clean and comfortable stay

Overall the hotel and room was clean and the staff was friendly. The staff was not prepared for the amount of people that wanted the breakfast buffet on Friday 11/29. There was only one poor girl preparing the different food items and keeping things in the buffet stocked.. the amount of time to put out more food was making the guests frustrated. I feel bad for her, the management did not provide her with any support staff.

I really liked how spacious and well-lit the property felt. The layout was functional and the natural light gave it a warm, welcoming feel.

Outwardly the property looks nice but inside the spacious room there’s only a desk and a chair besides the king size bed and two night stands. There’s no other furnishings so only one of us can sit and eat our meals. We called the front desk and they said that is the standard setup for this hotel. We are very disappointed. The breakfast was a joke, there were very few choices of foods. I heard the lady kept telling people that they ordered the supplies but somehow they didn’t arrive. I thought a Fairfield Inn should be a good choice but not this one evidently!

The check-in staff were very nice. Unfortunately, the air conditioner was making a constant whistle even when turned off. This was very distracting. When I asked the staff if anything could be done, they said the maintenance staff had gone home at 5 pm and they gave me earplugs. I really don’t like using earplugs as they are not 100 percent effective. I felt that the staff should have offered me a different room.

Our stay was pleasant other than the bed. It was too hard for our preference.

Beds were excellent, extremely cozy and warm. The room was perfect and clean and uncluttered. New modern decor was nice. Bathroom tile and look is awesome. Could have done without the stomping of kids above us. When occupancy is lower, you should stagger the rooms on each floor for less noise disturbance above you.

We had an excellent experience with various staff here. We had arrived earlier than expected and asked if they could hold on to our bags until check-in. The front desk lady said she would see if one or both our rooms were cleand and available. And, lucky for us! One was ready. We were able to leave our bags in the one room and explorer Yosemite. Also, in the morning for breakfast, there was an incredibly sweet and hard-working lady. She was all by her lonesome and this place was packed! She worked her tail off accomodating us all. The food was hot: Scrambled eggs and sausage. Side note: If you are staying multiple days, they do not do housekeeping every day. Just a "refresh" if requested.

It was a very disappointing start to our stay. When we entered the hotel, the ladies at the desk did not greet or acknowledge us until one of them, who was on the phone, finally did. She later apologized and helped us with check-in. What was very unusual was that the other staff member continued talking, asking personal questions, including about race, which made what could have been a quick check-in unnecessarily uncomfortable.

Friendly staff operating in a very well maintained clean facility , the two ladies who look after the breakfast diners I’ve forgotten their names but they are a credit to the hotel and deserve recognition for the way they try their best to make people feel at home

The front desk were a pleasure to deal with and made my long wedding day a breeze when it came to check in, on my next trip to the area I will most definitely return to this location. Rooms and restrooms were clean, everything is modern and the adjustable blinds in the room to help with the morning glares that wake everyone up before they want to, were a game changer.

The location of it is ideal there js a cute town a short drive from Yosemite’s south entrance

Best priced hotel in Oakhurst! We took a tour bus to Yosemite from here!

Comfortable and quiet and close enough to Yosemite [20 minutes to southern entrance and 1 hour 10 min to main valley floor] to be a great choice if you want clean, accommodating and affordable. Good complementary breakfast to start the day and great service - everyone was friendly.

It was the first place we could find that seemed suitable after a day trip from Mammoth Lakes, sightseeing through Yosimite National Park. So location was perfect and we were one of many people seemingly that decided on a last minute stay over.

The hotel was great. It was fairly close to Yosemite, and reasonably priced.
