Hemlock Inn

Very close to shopping and restaurants and bars. Parking on site and had an open fire pit (gas) on site. The hosts gave us great recommendations for breakfast, lunch and dinner! They were all very good!!! All places are walkable so that made the location perfect!

I arrived late, but had no issues accessing our room. Settling up with the front office the next morning was quick and easy. The property is in impeccable condition. Both the rooms and the outdoor/common areas were exceptionally clean. We especially enjoyed the pavilion and fire pit, where we had the chance to meet other travelers and swap stories. You can’t beat the location of the Hemlock Inn. Blowing Rock is incredibly walkable and full of charm. My wife and I strolled from one end of town to the other—while I’m not much of a shopper, the stores were still a pleasure to explore. We already have more trips planned to the area and won’t hesitate to stay at this property again.

Quaint and close to everything. Didn’t have to move the car or fight for parking. Beautiful flowers and quiet setting.

This was our second stay at The Hemlock Inn. The rooms have a small refrigerator, a microwave, a full-size drip coffee maker, pottery coffee mugs, and real wine glasses. The location is perfect, as the Hemlock is just one building away from Main Street Blowing Rock, so it’s an easy walk to all the charming shops and many great restaurants in downtown, and very near the city park. We could hear the live music from nearby Town Tavern if outside in the evenings. The decor is rustic, and some might find it a little dated, but we don’t mind it. They have a big gazebo outside with a gas fire pit that feels nice on chilly evenings. It is a locally owned business with super friendly staff who will get you anything you need right away. Landscaping is lovely. My only suggestions would be that a little extra shelf space in bathroom would be useful, and a place to stash all the throw pillows on the bed at night would be helpful. There was not a closet, but there was a hanging rod which was plenty long enough for all our clothes for a three-night stay, and I brought lots of extra clothes because we hiked in the mornings, and mountain weather is always unpredictable. They provide shampoo, conditioner, soaps, paper towels, hair dryer. They provide coffee, too, but we brought our own. I think it’s a great value for the price for such good service and a prime location. Not having to find a parking space is Blowing Rock is a major plus! Would definitely stay here again.

Adorable property and lovely staff. Easy to park and you're a 30 second walk from main street and everything downtown. Very comfy beds, everything nice and clean and cozy, not particularly modern. Was disappointed the fire pit wasn't working but otherwise facilities were great!

My family and I so enjoyed our stay. The property was especially festive because it was the holiday season. My grandson enjoyed the fire pit. We needed a screwdriver and even though the office was closed, we contacted Brian and he saved our evening game night by bringing over a screwdriver. That is some excellent customer service.

Our room was damp and humid, also dark. Our clothes felt wet when we got dressed, and the toilet sweated getting water on the floor. I let Donna know a dehumidifier was needed. Our floor sloped in several directions from a previous use, so be careful not to fall. The hosts were very friendly, the grounds gorgeous! So close to everything, and I felt very safe outside reading in one of the quiet nooks on the property and in the gazebo! Decor very pretty, I would stay again just not in that particular room. The refrigerator even had a freezer, for those of us who use ice packs!

Hemlock Inn was charming! Situated steps away from the lovely shopping area of downtown Blowing Rock. The grounds were beautifully landscaped with private parking adjacent to the door of the room. The room was clean and tastefully decorated in "mountain hemlock" style. Bedding was clean an comfy with ample pillows and blankets. The fire pit gazebo was a lovely site where we met other guests for conversation after dinner. I wouldn't hesitate to stay on future visits and recommend it hightly.

Clean hotel with a friendly staff. The location is excellent for Blowing Rock with a quick jaunt up the hull to hit Main Street and the shops and restaurants lining the area. Nice touches with ceramic mugs and daily housekeeping services. The flowers and additional landscape on the property are really lovely. Our room had a big bathroom. The room with the bed was a bit tight but adequate. I would stay here again but opt for a larger room.

LIKES: Cute exterior. Nice king bed. Quiet, safe. DISLIKES: Musty odor and damp air in room the entire 3 days there. A/C did not cool room well. Large bulky furniture in small room. No chair, just a small hard couch with low back (and we are small in size).

I had to ask for additional toilet paper,toe nail clipping on floor by night stand, used bar of soap in bathtub, long hair in bathtub, too many decorative pillows on bed, very heavy blankets, strange smell in room including bedding, lighting needs serious improvement, VERY dark. Generally outdated.

Room was really dusty at check-in. Sweet housekeeper came and dusted the surfaces well. Toilet would not flush. Had to keep taking off the lid to reconnect chain. Eventually flipped the connector and toilet flushed. Only had one tissue in the box and kid had a snotty nose. Beds and linens were extremely comfortable.

The Hemlock Inn is a charming inn in a great location, within walking distance to dining, shopping and things to do. The only downsides were the musty odor in our unit and the hot water and water pressure dropping while showering.

Great location but even with air purifier and AC on high, mildew smell in bathroom was inescapable. Also door had glass at the top that was curtained with sheer fabric which meant that the room was bathed in orange light all night, really unpleasant. Service was cursory-no ‘how was your stay’ just ‘drop off your parking pass’.

I so wanted to love the Hemlock Inn, and did... sort of. The people are very nice and easy to work with. The area is super convenient to shopping and dining in Blowing Rock (no need to move the car.) The place is really clean and the decor is charming. BUT... The walls are so thin we could hear every word of the conversation in the adjacent room. There is also a window at the top of the door with a very sheer curtain. Any tall person walking by could see us lying in bed. (We tested it. My husband is 6\'4") There was a lot to love here, but our experience was mixed.

The room had really pretty decor. The bed pillows were not good. Very flat. The mattress was ok but a little lumpy. I had taken my own bed pillows which I left behind by mistake. I don’t expect that they would send them back to me.

Great furnishings and lovely courtyard. Bed was terrible and there were lights outside each room that were very bright, and curtains didn’t hide them.

The free wi-fi was non-existent for most of our stay. If it is to be advertised as an amenity, it should be improved. The rooms are not consistent with the kitchen facilities.

The only thing that might be a drawback for some is the lack of convenient outlets for tech devices. They were there, but a little hard to get to. This wasn't enough of a problem for me to downgrade my rating, because it was such a nice play to stay.

Very close to all the restaurants/shops. Was able to park right in front of our room for easy loading/unloading. This place has a charming mountain cabin feel to it. The King Suite was great including a small kitchen and an "L" shaped couch area.

It was a good 2 nights but the bed was not very comfortable. The mattress seemed worn.

It’s very rustic so guests need to be a little cautious when walking. The room was on the small side and not much storage but suited our need for 2 nights. Walls also a little thin. Room and bath spotless. Staff very friendly, accommodating and helpful. Within walking distance of numerous restaurants and shopping. Would stay there again

Everything was great however, they had our reservation messed up but made it good by providing another room at no additional cost which I was very greatful for. The bed pillows were very hard and really need to be replaced.

The Hemlock Inn was one of the best places that I've ever stayed. This was my first visit to Blowing Rock, NC and they made my arrival very easy. The staff was very accommodating and helpful, the room was great, clean, comfortable, cozy, and pleasant. The Inn was within walking distance to everything and very well maintained. I will definitely stay here again and totally recommend it to everyone.

This place has rich history. Well kept. A staff willing to make your stay wonderful. Very knowledgeable of the area. Shopping and dining in walking distance. Wife and I loved this place. We will return

Great location-walk to many shops and restaurants. The bed is so comfortable and sheets so soft. First time staying at this hotel - now my favorite in Blowing Rock. I like the mountain/cabin decor. Friendly staff. I had a 1 king room. Small but had everything I needed - fridge & microwave.
