We had a great stay at The Stable. It’s really comfortable and well equipped with everything needed for a relaxing time. It’s in a peaceful setting yet close enough to quickly pick up any necessities. Easy parking is a bonus and taxis were easily bookable too. We are regular visitors to the area and really wish we’d found this place much sooner. For us it was perfect and we’ll definitely be back.

We stayed in 'The Dairy', one of several holiday units converted from farm buildings, surrounding a cobbled courtyard. Beautifully clean and well-furnished. The kitchen area was well-equipped; the bathroom was of a good standard. The bedroom patio doors led to a small patio and then to a huge shared garden. The owners were really helpful. We loved it.

What a lovely holiday cottage. Absolutely perfect for our 2 night stay with family. My kids loved playing football in the paddock and exploring the area. Felt very safe. Lovely hosts and great location. Highly recommend. Thank you

This was our 2nd stay in The Stable and it was wonderful. The place is so relaxing, comfortable and importantly, lovely and warm given it was so cold outside. The parking is easy and the place is clean and spacious with everything we needed for our stay.

We have now stayed here four times. Su and Phil are lovely hosts - very accommodating and helpful. There is a beautiful garden with lots of space for family gatherings with play areas for children. The cottages are spotlessly clean and well equipped. There is good walking roundabout especially on the canal and the peacocks in a neighbouring garden are a bonus.

Ready at our ETA. Quick access (online check-in, key in door). Owner came to make sure we were OK, answered our questions, told us where he was (next door) in case we had a problem (we didn't). Didn't bother us again. We had the small Dairy Cottage - plenty of room for the two of us - but patio doors straight onto the big garden which the other cottages didn't seem to have. We sat outside a lot just having a cup of tea and looking around at greenery. It's hypnotic. We didn't want for anything. Every home comfort was provided. We had some nice walks but, if you're looking for food, turn right at the canal bridge towards Leo's. Turn left and you end up at a dismal pub that advertises food outside and inside but doesn't do it. We were told 'kitchen closed' at our lunchtime visit but reviews suggest it hasn't done food for a few years. My only suggestion for Martin Lane Holiday Cottages? Update the guest information folder. Otherwise an excellent short break and we would certainty go back.

The cottage is one of four, in a really peaceful area with the owners living next door. They have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and are happy to share their garden and surrounding fields with you. Very child friendly place.

A wonderful place to stay! Perfectly sized and set out for solo or a couple. Private, you wouldn't know there are other units around, but this would be a great place for a stay that needed a number of separate spaces. Convenient for WWT Martin Mere (less than an hour walk if you're so inclined). Although not needed, parking space was fine and safe. Truly everything you'd need for a short (or longer) stay.

What a find! We came as a Family of 4 for a wedding in Ormskirk. We had the Granary cottage and it was absolutely perfect for us. It had a twin bedroom on the ground floor and a twin and kingsize upstairs as well as a large bathroom with a bath and walk in shower. The cottage was very large and suited us perfectly with 2 large sofas and a table and 6 chairs in the living area. The kitchen was fully equipped and we had everything we needed for the weekend. The parking was ideal, a courtyard right outside which was very private and secure. The gardens were so beautiful and well kept with lots of seating and Phil made us feel welcome to have a look around. There was also seating outside the cottage which was perfect for us for Morning cuppas and evening wines! The only criticism i have is the ironing board was too small which isn’t a criticism at all! It was just we had lots of wedding gear to iron but it was manageable. The cottages are on a very quiet lane which we walked along to the nearby canal and also farm shop and cafe which did an excellent breakfast! Overall our stay was perfect just too short, we are already looking forward to coming back later in the year. Thank you for a lovely stay ❤️

Lovely little cottage very close to the centre of Liverpool. Perfect for what we needed. Everything was very clean and lots of equipment if you wanted to cook etc. Beds were very comfortable and communication was great. Everything about it was perfect. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. 😊

We choose this place since it was near family who we were visiting from the US for Christmas. We will choose it again because it was very comfortable, clean, and easy to access with lots of room to spread out. I would also like to recognize that the decorations for Christmas- lights inside and out along with small things like the Christmas serviettes were a nice touch. We choose the 3 bedroom The Granary even though it was just my husband and I because the main bedroom has a king size bed which we needed since my husband is very tall. It seems to be hard to find this large bed around England! I also appreciated things like hooks, drawers, shelves around to place things.

Very nice barn conversion, with huge window. Only stayed for 2 nights, but self catering facilities were suitable for far longer. Owned by a friendly, helpful family.

Great country cottage when visiting my daughter at Edge Hill University. Plenty of room and we enjoyed cooking dinner one night in the kitchen. Nice canal nearby with walking trail. Very peaceful location and just a short drive to lots of restaurants and stores.

We choose this place since it was near family who we were visiting from the US for Christmas. We will choose it again because it was very comfortable, clean, and easy to access with lots of room to spread out. I would also like to recognize that the decorations for Christmas- lights inside and out along with small things like the Christmas serviettes were a nice touch. We choose the 3 bedroom The Granary even though it was just my husband and I because the main bedroom has a king size bed which we needed since my husband is very tall. It seems to be hard to find this large bed around England! I also appreciated things like hooks, drawers, shelves around to place things.

We stayed in 'The Dairy', one of several holiday units converted from farm buildings, surrounding a cobbled courtyard. Beautifully clean and well-furnished. The kitchen area was well-equipped; the bathroom was of a good standard. The bedroom patio doors led to a small patio and then to a huge shared garden. The owners were really helpful. We loved it.

Lovely little cottage very close to the centre of Liverpool. Perfect for what we needed. Everything was very clean and lots of equipment if you wanted to cook etc. Beds were very comfortable and communication was great. Everything about it was perfect. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. 😊

Was greeted on arrival by the owner who was very welcoming. These are lovely cottages tucked away off the beaten track but still very accessible. Had everything we needed and was the perfect size for our short trip to visit our son who is studying in Ormskirk and a trip to Bolton to watch the football. Would definitely recommend.

We have now stayed here four times. Su and Phil are lovely hosts - very accommodating and helpful. There is a beautiful garden with lots of space for family gatherings with play areas for children. The cottages are spotlessly clean and well equipped. There is good walking roundabout especially on the canal and the peacocks in a neighbouring garden are a bonus.

Ready at our ETA. Quick access (online check-in, key in door). Owner came to make sure we were OK, answered our questions, told us where he was (next door) in case we had a problem (we didn't). Didn't bother us again. We had the small Dairy Cottage - plenty of room for the two of us - but patio doors straight onto the big garden which the other cottages didn't seem to have. We sat outside a lot just having a cup of tea and looking around at greenery. It's hypnotic. We didn't want for anything. Every home comfort was provided. We had some nice walks but, if you're looking for food, turn right at the canal bridge towards Leo's. Turn left and you end up at a dismal pub that advertises food outside and inside but doesn't do it. We were told 'kitchen closed' at our lunchtime visit but reviews suggest it hasn't done food for a few years. My only suggestion for Martin Lane Holiday Cottages? Update the guest information folder. Otherwise an excellent short break and we would certainty go back.

What a lovely holiday cottage. Absolutely perfect for our 2 night stay with family. My kids loved playing football in the paddock and exploring the area. Felt very safe. Lovely hosts and great location. Highly recommend. Thank you

A wonderful place to stay! Perfectly sized and set out for solo or a couple. Private, you wouldn't know there are other units around, but this would be a great place for a stay that needed a number of separate spaces. Convenient for WWT Martin Mere (less than an hour walk if you're so inclined). Although not needed, parking space was fine and safe. Truly everything you'd need for a short (or longer) stay.

What a find! We came as a Family of 4 for a wedding in Ormskirk. We had the Granary cottage and it was absolutely perfect for us. It had a twin bedroom on the ground floor and a twin and kingsize upstairs as well as a large bathroom with a bath and walk in shower. The cottage was very large and suited us perfectly with 2 large sofas and a table and 6 chairs in the living area. The kitchen was fully equipped and we had everything we needed for the weekend. The parking was ideal, a courtyard right outside which was very private and secure. The gardens were so beautiful and well kept with lots of seating and Phil made us feel welcome to have a look around. There was also seating outside the cottage which was perfect for us for Morning cuppas and evening wines! The only criticism i have is the ironing board was too small which isn’t a criticism at all! It was just we had lots of wedding gear to iron but it was manageable. The cottages are on a very quiet lane which we walked along to the nearby canal and also farm shop and cafe which did an excellent breakfast! Overall our stay was perfect just too short, we are already looking forward to coming back later in the year. Thank you for a lovely stay ❤️

Great country cottage when visiting my daughter at Edge Hill University. Plenty of room and we enjoyed cooking dinner one night in the kitchen. Nice canal nearby with walking trail. Very peaceful location and just a short drive to lots of restaurants and stores.

It was a perfect country setting with the perfect little cottage , everything needed to hand supplied inside or happy to help. Brilliant for the little ones and big ones close by 15-20 minute drive beach and prom if needed . Very peaceful also

Very nice barn conversion, with huge window. Only stayed for 2 nights, but self catering facilities were suitable for far longer. Owned by a friendly, helpful family.

So wonderfully quiet! Beautiful historic farm barns conversion. Owners provided good communication and were on hand if we needed anything. The double bed was absolutely superb, comfortable and very large. I couldn't work out the configuration upstairs from the photos, but there are 2 bedrooms and one family bathroom with bath, shower and toilet. Would happily stay there again. We were 2 adults with our 2 grown up daughters . We also had 2 other members of our family join us for lunch at the outdoor table and chairs. Free parking in the pretty courtyard. Thank you!

We stayed in the Dairy this trip and we absolutely loved it. It’s so comfortable and fully equipped with everything we could want/need (oven, hob, microwave, fridge freezer, toaster etc). The bed is huge and the bedding is very comfortable … we slept better than at home. The outside space is lovely and the chickens popping by to visit are a real treat! We’ve previously stayed a few times in the Stables at the farm which we’ve also loved … it’s a very special place and we’ll look forward to our next stay. Thank you so much.
