The accomodation was amazing and the private hot tub the best I have been in. Make sure you take EVERYTHING with you if you plan to cook as absolutely nothing there atall, not even salt and pepper. Very disappointed in the fact the Sauna was not working nd we had not benn informed off this and then when we arrived they closed the gym (one of the reasons I booked this place) to paint it....surely this could haave been done earlier in the year before the park got busy? Several people were there early to use it and no ;luck!!! We left early due to these matters. Also the steam room is in with the pool so you have to book to go in. Not great !!!!

Overall a great stay. The reason for the average score to service was due to 2 of our 4 booked swim sessions being cancelled at the last minute during our stay. We stayed in a barn that was fantastic, I couldn’t fault it. However the gym was very poor, so small you couldn’t fit more that 2/3 people in. The sauna was broken so we couldn’t use it for our stay. The pool is tired and in need of an update. Having said all of that I would return just for barn which had a hot tub and the location. However if they update the gym and pool facilities it would be a full 5 stars!

The accommodation was great - modern and clean. Hot tub excellent. Good base for exploring Cornwall. Pool closed early (5pm) which was a shame for us as an evening swim would have been nice.

The place was amazing only downfall for our stay was limited swimming times, felt like we couldn’t go far if we had swimming booked in and it was only 1 session per day. Would have been perfect if there was more access to swimming facilities on site

Beautiful place, quiet and peaceful. We had a hot tub and sitting there and watching the sunset was amazing. The bar was ok good food but pricy for the area, however we had lunch watching a surf lesson on the surf rider. Excellent entertainment! 🌊🏄\u200d♂️ A really good relax and recharge few days

We really enjoyed our stay at the Retallack Resort, the location is great with all the towns and beaches being a short drive away. The accommodation; 2 bedroom Barn was excellent a home from home, modern, clean and very spacious! Our 2 teenagers had plenty of space and our room with ensuite felt very spacious. We used the swimming pool, gym and tennis courts which were looking a little tired and could do with up-grading but this didnt overly bother us still did the job and a bonus to have on-site. The bar/restaraunt was great for coffees and drinks - we ate one evening in the restaraunt basic food for the price so decided not to use again - we didnt try breakfast. The reception staff were extremely helpful and efficient - checking in was quick and very welcoming a good first impression. A great stay - will stay again!!

We stayed in a ground floor lakeside apartment for a week in early June. The apartment itself was clean and had everything you needed from plates and cutlery to microwave and washer dryer. The weather was wet and cold when we were there so had to use the heating which worked well and their was plenty of hot water. The unit itself looked tired in places, vinyl plank flooring in kitchen looked like it had suffered water damage at some point, paint peeling on reveals around rear patio door and the shower tray leaked continuously which in turn was damaging the door frame and architrave. Woodwork on deck definitely needs attention, slippery when wet and looking worn. That said , the unit was very comfortable and so quiet at night. We loved feeding the ducks in the morning as they swam right up to balcony. If you rent a top floor apartment on the lake the balconies are small and set back from the waters edge. We didn't eat here so unable to comment on food but we did use the gym which was small but functional. The site itself is fairly remote which adds to the peace and tranquility, staff are very polite and helpful and there is a well stocked shop on site which isn't overpriced. Overall, i would recommend Retallack its still good value for money despite the negatives.

Pleasantly surprised as this was a new place for us. The places we usually stay are stunning but due to the wet weather we wanted to opt for somewhere with things the kids could do. The accommodation was fab, very clean and modern. It could have done with a few more kitchen utensils such as a chopping board. My only grumble was the pool is a bit grim, the sides were very dirty and the baby pool was yellow. The sauna was out of action and somebody smashed the steam room door which put the pool out of action due to glass in the water (this couldn’t be helped but still a disappointment) most of the water activities required children to be 8yrs old which ours aren’t so that left us a bit stuck. Most of the evening activities stopped on 31st August so again there wasn’t much for the kids. These weren’t disasters as they aren’t things we would normally have on our holiday but still it would have been nice if there were activities for the kids.

Great location and lovely properties. Clean, spacious and modern. 15 min drive into Padstow and great location for beaches. Would return. Note though, there is no golf course at this property and no slide at the pool.

On arriving they are so dog friendly, everyone who saw Bruno was giving loves. It was such a warm welcoming! Driving down to the lodges was a bit unscenic. There was a lot of building works going on but as soon as you hit the lodges the view changes and it’s gorgeous again. The lodge is beautiful. There is a few bits that need a bit of attention such as some of the wallpaper in the living room had tiny bits missing, the shower looked a bit outdated at the bottom and there was a couple of chips in the floor. The sofa sets outside were a bit mouldy but I think this could be resolved of a wash and perhaps providing guests with covers to put over during the rain? The cleanliness of the place though was unmatched. Everything was pristine and the cleaners are constantly about all day. The sofa was incredibly comfortable and the beds. The bath was fantastic and the facilities in general were lovely. Had a great stay!

When we first got there it was filthy and you could tell it hadn’t been cleaned before we got there - stuff smeared all over the walls and VERY dusty so we went to reception and just asked if there was anything they could do and then we were told that they would send a cleaner but had no idea how long it would take but were assured that a cleaner was already down there , we sat outside for AN HOUR before we rang them to ask what was going on as no cleaner was there only to be told that all the cleaners had actually gone home?! So we asked what else could we do as I don’t get to go away often and I was just really upset that it was dirty , they told us they wouldn’t move us anywhere so we just had to ‘make do’ and we couldn’t have any money back so we requested a call back from the supervisor or management the next day and never got anything , I also brought this up with Expedia who I booked through and they rang the resort and were told that there was nothing wrong with the room and that it was fine so we were essentially waiting for cleaners that were never going to come , I spent about 3/4 hours our first night trying to sort this out , only to go and get into bed and find it covered in hair?! Absolutely awful - ruined my birthday

Great location, friendly staff and nice accommodation. Pool & facilities clean. Treatments expensive. Accommodation not cleaned very well & heating wasn’t working. Outside areas scruffy and the speed bumps were horrendous!

It was okay, the lodge was warm throughout and it was nice to have a completely separate dwelling from others. The swimming facilities are good. Unfortunately there were a couple of things we had issues with, the cleanliness throughout the lodge was not up to standard; bathroom fixtures were faulty and moving; the lighting in the kitchen/lounge was terrible when it was dark outside, to the point that you couldn't really see what you were doing in the kitchen. A big disappointment was when we decided to go to the onsite restaurant "The Lookout Bar and Eatery" or Catch22; we didn't expect to be impressed and unfortunately it was worse that we could have expected, I ordered our food at 19:10 and we didn't receive our food until 19:50, they were not busy at all, it was only fish and chips they were cold and didn't taste good at all. It isn't unreasonable to expect better service than this at the price they are charging, I didn't complain at the time as our toddler was desperate to eat and it was better than nothing... I wouldn't stay there again.

A nice property in a good location, however there were a number of cobwebs, mould and dirt over the floor. The property was starting to look a bit dated and missing some amenities for example an oven glove and scissors. The hot tub was lovely but it’s disappointing when you’re only staying for 3 nights that on the first night it isn’t up to temperature so can’t be used. We used the resort pool, nice pool, changing rooms not so nice, showers freezing! It would also be useful to know there is a washing machine and I couldn’t find it listed anywhere so took more clothes than needed. Also work going on at the resort so on Monday morning you could hear it!

Great lodge and facilities but it looks tired and dated. On arrival at the lodge we found a dirty sock in the bed under a duvet, that’s just disgusting and obviously not cleaned to the level they advertise!

Another good stay at Retallack Resort again in a lakeside apartment. Overall happy with the accommodation except for problems with the provided internet. In our apartment this did not work for the entire time we stayed. We did manage to log in via the TV on one evening but then this failed and wouldn’t start again ! Now this might be classed as a nice to have but if a connection is required it’s a real pain and if children were in the accommodation it could be quite stressful……site maintenance and management were of little help and reception could only pass on concerns……so not totally satisfied. Due to location phone signal is poor but that’s not the sites fault …..that’s Cornwall !

Nice views, quiet, property very clean, staff friendly. Hot tub a nice touch. Only constructive feedback is kitchen needs a little more for families, bigger pots for cooking, bigger colander, microwave, knives should be sharper, very blunt. The oven isn’t the best quality so don’t count on making nice roast dinners.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Retallack Resort, the location is great with all the towns and beaches being a short drive away. The accommodation; 2 bedroom Barn was excellent a home from home, modern, clean and very spacious! Our 2 teenagers had plenty of space and our room with ensuite felt very spacious. We used the swimming pool, gym and tennis courts which were looking a little tired and could do with up-grading but this didnt overly bother us still did the job and a bonus to have on-site. The bar/restaraunt was great for coffees and drinks - we ate one evening in the restaraunt basic food for the price so decided not to use again - we didnt try breakfast. The reception staff were extremely helpful and efficient - checking in was quick and very welcoming a good first impression. A great stay - will stay again!!

We stayed in a ground floor lakeside apartment for a week in early June. The apartment itself was clean and had everything you needed from plates and cutlery to microwave and washer dryer. The weather was wet and cold when we were there so had to use the heating which worked well and their was plenty of hot water. The unit itself looked tired in places, vinyl plank flooring in kitchen looked like it had suffered water damage at some point, paint peeling on reveals around rear patio door and the shower tray leaked continuously which in turn was damaging the door frame and architrave. Woodwork on deck definitely needs attention, slippery when wet and looking worn. That said , the unit was very comfortable and so quiet at night. We loved feeding the ducks in the morning as they swam right up to balcony. If you rent a top floor apartment on the lake the balconies are small and set back from the waters edge. We didn't eat here so unable to comment on food but we did use the gym which was small but functional. The site itself is fairly remote which adds to the peace and tranquility, staff are very polite and helpful and there is a well stocked shop on site which isn't overpriced. Overall, i would recommend Retallack its still good value for money despite the negatives.

Good in general but the mattress quality was below what we were expecting. Few basic necessities like hand soap in bathrooms were missing. Barns were bit too close to each other which was a surprise.

Very good overall - would go back and stay again. I would say that the black 4 berth barns get very hot in the summer with no fans provided it can get very warm from 10-6pm. It would have been nice to have more amenities such as toilet rolls as we only had two provided for our Monday - Friday trip. Other than that it was very modern, double parking, felt safe and secure. We didn’t use any of the gym / pool facilities but will do next time we attend and our little man is a bit older (2 months old).

We stayed in a 2 bedroom barn and it was lovely. Very clean and fairly well equipped kitchen wise. The furniture and beds were comfortable, although we could have done with another couch really. What was there was ok for 2 but we would have struggled with 4. The properties are quite overlooked, so you do have to keep blinds and curtains shut in bedrooms. Some of the bigger properties (not on the meadow or hillside) are not overlooked so could be worth going for those instead. The resort is quite near to padstow, but other than the restaurant (which we didn’t use), shop and spa/pool facilities there isn’t anything else around. All in all it was fantastic value for money and we will definitely be returning.

Not a bad place to stay, but a little short of special. The rooms in the accommodation are a bit dark. The decking over the lake caught little sun and had a bit of a tired appearance.

Overall a great stay. The reason for the average score to service was due to 2 of our 4 booked swim sessions being cancelled at the last minute during our stay. We stayed in a barn that was fantastic, I couldn’t fault it. However the gym was very poor, so small you couldn’t fit more that 2/3 people in. The sauna was broken so we couldn’t use it for our stay. The pool is tired and in need of an update. Having said all of that I would return just for barn which had a hot tub and the location. However if they update the gym and pool facilities it would be a full 5 stars!

When we first got there it was filthy and you could tell it hadn’t been cleaned before we got there - stuff smeared all over the walls and VERY dusty so we went to reception and just asked if there was anything they could do and then we were told that they would send a cleaner but had no idea how long it would take but were assured that a cleaner was already down there , we sat outside for AN HOUR before we rang them to ask what was going on as no cleaner was there only to be told that all the cleaners had actually gone home?! So we asked what else could we do as I don’t get to go away often and I was just really upset that it was dirty , they told us they wouldn’t move us anywhere so we just had to ‘make do’ and we couldn’t have any money back so we requested a call back from the supervisor or management the next day and never got anything , I also brought this up with Expedia who I booked through and they rang the resort and were told that there was nothing wrong with the room and that it was fine so we were essentially waiting for cleaners that were never going to come , I spent about 3/4 hours our first night trying to sort this out , only to go and get into bed and find it covered in hair?! Absolutely awful - ruined my birthday

Our stay at the Retallack Resort & Spa was exactly what we were looking for. The cabin was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The staff was really polite and helpful. We had a bit of car troubles leading up to our departure which required us extending our checkout time at the very last minute and Jade/Jud was really helpful with assisting with this extension. We'll definitely be visiting again and would recommend to any family seeking a relaxing, peaceful and quite get away.

The Lodge was very clean and very well appointed and the park well laid out and quiet. The staff although friendly were not well informed and frequently we fell foul of poor information about facility opening times and the reception didn't seem to know what was going on. This should be easy to sort and would have made a huge difference to us as we missed restaurant closing times and even didn't participate in an event because we were told a cafe was closed that was open. Easy stuff to sort and nearly soured an excellent experience.

Second time here. So convenient for beautiful beaches. Great on site facilities. We had two requests for customer services, dealt with efficiently and quickly. Only thing I would change is reduce the gaps on the lower rails of the decking so that small dogs can go out there safely.

A great place to stay. Very relaxing and peaceful with a small lake. The kitchen has everything you need to cook. We stayed in one with a hot tub which was great. In the daylight it feels like it will be overlooked but when it is dark it felt quite private as other places near us didn’t have hot tubs so people weren’t outside. Close to Padstow and the A30, so easy to get to lots of places. We will definitely return

Great location and lovely properties. Clean, spacious and modern. 15 min drive into Padstow and great location for beaches. Would return. Note though, there is no golf course at this property and no slide at the pool.

Retallack in Cornwall is a must! Had a lovely time with hot tub included. The place is quiet but close to most of the places like Newquay beach.

This was just a perfect little get away in beautiful surroundings. Check in very smooth, barn was lovely. Shower water was nowhere hot enough though. Sink down have crack, but ok to still use. Loved the hot tub and beautiful open plan kitchen/diner/living room. Beds and pillow comfy. Lakeside view was just perfect! We had cocktails in the bar on the Friday and Harvey was a lovely young man and made some of the best cocktails I’ve tasted! Thanks Harvey. Amazingly they cater for gluten free and the food was amazing thank you. Disappointed flow rider was out of order but these things cannot be helped. Lovely little beach and activity bit. The surrounds were just tranquil. Bins would be with tidy up and being emptied as were overflowing unfortunately. Would definitely return as loved it!

Lovely resort. We visited out of season and at a very quiet time so there was ver little available. The bar was open for drinks and hot beverages but no food. We has considered this and had taken our own as we didn’t expect the resort to be fully running at the end of February. Pool was open which was warm and good size to swim in. Lovely accommodating and welcoming staff. We had an apartment by the lake. It was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. View from patio was very relaxing just a shame it rained so hard. Had no hot water the night we arrived but a trip to reception and it was attended to within ten minutes. Will definitely stay again.

Cheaper option as booked in January. Cottages are clean, modern and comfortable. On site restaurant was fully booked for both days we were there so book in advance. Easy reach of Padstow, Newquay, Mawgan Porth etc which I think are great in the winter months.

It was okay, the lodge was warm throughout and it was nice to have a completely separate dwelling from others. The swimming facilities are good. Unfortunately there were a couple of things we had issues with, the cleanliness throughout the lodge was not up to standard; bathroom fixtures were faulty and moving; the lighting in the kitchen/lounge was terrible when it was dark outside, to the point that you couldn't really see what you were doing in the kitchen. A big disappointment was when we decided to go to the onsite restaurant "The Lookout Bar and Eatery" or Catch22; we didn't expect to be impressed and unfortunately it was worse that we could have expected, I ordered our food at 19:10 and we didn't receive our food until 19:50, they were not busy at all, it was only fish and chips they were cold and didn't taste good at all. It isn't unreasonable to expect better service than this at the price they are charging, I didn't complain at the time as our toddler was desperate to eat and it was better than nothing... I wouldn't stay there again.

Lovely resort with the friendliest staff, everyone was so welcoming and helpful. Great water sports activities, nice gym and Paul. Great restaurant and bar with a big menu. Only 15 minute drive to Padstow.

Lovely property modern and clean, great location for Padstow, Wadebridge or Polzeath. Food was ok but could be better, we ordered 4 pizzas and 2 had a burnt base, 1 was completely ruined.

The restaurant on site wasn't really nice, food was average and service wasn't the best.. The resort on himself is great, the lodge was clean and spacious. Staff was really friendly. Unfortunatly, restaurants and shops missing close to the resort.

Beautiful place, quiet and peaceful. We had a hot tub and sitting there and watching the sunset was amazing. The bar was ok good food but pricy for the area, however we had lunch watching a surf lesson on the surf rider. Excellent entertainment! 🌊🏄\u200d♂️ A really good relax and recharge few days

We really enjoyed our stay at the Retallack Resort, the location is great with all the towns and beaches being a short drive away. The accommodation; 2 bedroom Barn was excellent a home from home, modern, clean and very spacious! Our 2 teenagers had plenty of space and our room with ensuite felt very spacious. We used the swimming pool, gym and tennis courts which were looking a little tired and could do with up-grading but this didnt overly bother us still did the job and a bonus to have on-site. The bar/restaraunt was great for coffees and drinks - we ate one evening in the restaraunt basic food for the price so decided not to use again - we didnt try breakfast. The reception staff were extremely helpful and efficient - checking in was quick and very welcoming a good first impression. A great stay - will stay again!!

Great stay, lovely welcome fantastic lodge lovely and clean and comfortable. Hot tub freshly filled and spotless. Breakfast in bar/restaurant was lovely and the evening meals superb. Will definitely go back and highly recommend. Also really well situated for visiting local attractions and towns.

The property was on the edge of the lake, close to the sports lake. Good size and good kitchen facilities. The property could do with a bit of paint as it looks like water damage around the front door and the French doors. The skirting that was in the kitchen side of the bathroom also had water damage. Small decking area again could do with a paint or clean green Algee on fencing, front was the same. Smart TV in room but couldn’t get this feature to work so couldn’t get my sky or Netflix.

“The apartment was small and a bit run down. There was mould in the bathroom and on the patio doors. There was a rat on the patio, which I assume was looking for food. The patio itself was in a very poor state; the decking appears to have been partly eaten by rats. The fridge and cooker were also dirty.”

We had an excellent couple of days at Retallack. The 2 bed barn we stayed in was immaculate and well equipped. So relaxing and quiet, the hot tub was great. We have already booked to return.
