Really liked the hotel - excellent spa and great location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only complaint was the restaurant as the food did not arrive for an hour! Otherwise all great!

A good hotel - rooms size is ok but not an excess of space for storage of luggage. Good large clean bathroom and comfortable bed, very quiet. Buffet breakfast excellent with v friendly staff. Nice spacious dining area. Outdoor warm pool great though could go with some sunshades. Indoor pool v hot but that’s why you come to mineral spar hotel. Only real complaint was gym, far too hot at 27 to 30c portable aircon woefully inadequate good range of weights and limited multi use gym machine, running machines totally dilapidated any way far too hot for aerobic exercise. Hotel is in great location for local restaurants and seeing hot springs. Also good base for exploring eastern end of island, Hotel was good (except for gym)

This is an absolute gem of a property the thermal iron variety of private pools with 24 hour access alone are worth coming here for. I loved the outdoor pool at night with the cooler air and warm water. I had a spa service the coco and it was the best body scrub massage I’ve experienced. The facility is so cool with a fun bar, amazing staff and delicious restaurant.

Spa amenities are amazing. Warm and spacious pools. Restaurant is great, both for dinner and the included breakfast. Staff are kind and helpful. When we arrived, we were met at the car for baggage assistance and were provided drinks while the check process was underway. Lively experience. Will return.

Absolutely phenomenal stay at the Octant that exceeded all expectations. The facilities in this hotel are top notch! From the spa, to the pools, to the restaurant and the bar... you can spend days there. Never mind how stunning the surrounding area is. Customer service is exceptional too. Highly recommend!

We like the hotel which has an inside and outside swimming pool filled with hot spring water and are open 24 hours a day. There are Turkish bath and sauna by the pool. Room is a bit too small but it’s quiet.

Property felt a little run down considering they bill themselves as 5 Star. Carpets were old and ripped in the main entrance, paint was chipped throughout the property, our room smelled very musty and curtains were broken. Beds were comfortable and staff were very pleasant.

Die Lage und das Design des Hotels sind sehr schön aber vieles war etwas abgewohnt. Darueber hinaus hatten wir nur ein Zimmer mit Behindertenbad und relativ kleinem Fenster erhalten. Der Aufzug war defekt. Am ersten Tag war der Fruehstueckservice sehr schlecht. Trotz mehrmals Nachfragen bekamen wir keine weiteren Kaffee und die Tische wurden nicht abgeräumt. Die weiteren Tage war der Service aber gut.

The hotel staff and amenities were very nice . I do feel that the hotel and facilities could use an upgrade as paint was peeling and rooms seemed slightly dated. However this was overshadowed by the kind staff. Food was very good and breakfast buffet was very extensive and many options . Due to the thermal heat conditions , bugs: roaches (very small) may be encountered - I had 3 come up the drain in my shower but staff addressed it. We also had a plumbing issue (clogged shower drain in two rooms) for which the staff was very apologetic about and gave us extra treats like champagne and goodies. Overall a good stay. Beautiful park next door as well.

The location was great, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a couple issues with the our room, mostly that the shower didn’t drain and would overflow onto the bathroom floor within minutes. It was a bummer to have an upgraded room with the pool, and be dealing with a silly issue like that.

Das Octant liegt wunderbar inmitten von Furnas, in Angrenzung an einen Park. Die Zimmer sind schön, ebenfalls das Restaurant, die ganze Anlage bräuchte aber teilweise Renovierungen. Auch die Pools mit Thermalwasser haben uns gut gefallen, der Außenpool liegt an einer befahrenen Straße. Das Frühstück (Büffet mit Bestelloption von Kaffee und Eierspeisen) mit teilweise regionalen Produkten fanden wir auch sehr gut.

Amazing hotel! We enjoyed all of the amenities including the spa. The staff were all very warm and welcoming. Breakfast each morning was lovely, as well as the dinner we enjoys at the restaurant. Small complaint is that the closets in our pool access room smelt musty. We didn't want to keep any of our belongings in there.

Our stay at Octant Furnas was simply amazing. The setting of being surrounded by garden made us feel super relaxed and was extremely peaceful. All the staff were super welcoming and attentive. There were many little touches that made our stay perfect. The pools were amazing. The room was super spacious, clean and conducive to great sleeps. We would definitely love to come back.

The water features where amazing. The facility was beautiful, but a bit rough in some of the rooms from what appeared to be water damage.The staff was wonderful and genuinely interested in enhancing your stay. Joao helped us prepare a Cozido, where we placed food in a large pot that we later transported to the inground ovens heated by the volcano. It was delicious. Very memorable.

We spent 4 nights in this hotel and felt welcome, comfortable and safe. We chose this hotel primarily because of the spa area with 2 pools and 3 saunas. We always really enjoyed this spa area. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. The chambermaids even vacuumed the carpet every time they cleaned the room; we think that's absolutely brilliant. We only used the breakfast buffet; we really enjoyed it (especially the orange juice and the delicious scrambled eggs). We can only recommend this hotel; it's just great! Many thanks to the hotel!

The staff were wonderful. The facilities immaculate. The design in the rooms leaves something to be desired. Very small and dark /odd decor. Very clean, great sleeping conditions. Pools and sauna Devine. Breakfast was perfection. Dinner was inconsistent in quality. One of our best meals and one of our worst. Can’t say enough about the staff. So welcoming friendly and professional .

My wife and I stayed here with our 8-month old boy, and we were blown away at the service at this property. The service was above and beyond. They treated us like royalty - everything was ready for us when we arrived. If we needed anything, they responded immediately getting us what we needed. The cleanliness, the staff, the grounds, the pools, the spa, and the breakfast were all amazing! We truly can’t recommend this property enough. The only critiques I have are: the food prep at the restaurant was inconsistent. We had dinner there three times and were underwhelmed with some of the dishes and recommendations from staff. Finally, the bed was very, very firm and lacked support. I am a tall guy in my late 30s, but I had considerable pain waking up each morning. They treated us like royalty - everything was ready for us when we arrived. If we needed anything, they responded immediately getting us what we needed. The cleanliness, the staff, the grounds, the pools, the spa, and the breakfast were all amazing! We truly can’t recommend this property enough. The only critiques I have are: the food prep at the restaurant was inconsistent. We had dinner there three times and were underwhelmed with some of the dishes and recommendations from staff. Finally, the bed was very, very firm and lacked support. I am a tall guy in my late 30s, but I had considerable pain waking up each morning. Our stay at Octant Furnas was simply amazing. The setting of being surrounded by garden made us feel super relaxed and was extremely peaceful. All the staff were super welcoming and attentive. There were many little touches that made our stay perfect. The pools were amazing. The room was super spacious, clean and conducive to great sleeps. We would definitely love to come back.

Room was nice but no outdoor space. Pool area was great ,having a hot spring pool on site was lovely. Dining room was lovely with a nice atmosphere, food was a little bland and expensive. Bar area lacked atmosphere ad wasn’t very welcoming. There was a lovely area beside the dining room to sit but that didn’t seem to be used and had no bar which was a shame. Overall stay was good.

We like the hotel which has an inside and outside swimming pool filled with hot spring water and are open 24 hours a day. There are Turkish bath and sauna by the pool. Room is a bit too small but it’s quiet.

Upon arriving, the staff make it their mission to make you feel singular. Every single staff member. Every need and want fulfilled. We celebrated our wedding anniversary there and we will definitely return regularly. To the whole staff...thank you! You are the standard of exceptional service!

This was the best hotel stay my husband and I have ever had. The staff went out of their way to make everyone comfortable. We were here for our honeymoon and they made such a big deal for us that we felt like celebrities. Great place to stay.

Everything about this beautiful hotel is magnificent. My boyfriend and I stayed here for my 40th birthday and the staff went above and beyond to not only make my day super special but to ensure every aspect of our stay was top notch. Can't wait to come back!

On the edge of the town, surrounded by beautiful Parkland. This small top of the range hotel really has no falts that I I could find. The service was great throughout, the decor and rooms were well appointed. The pools and spa were amazing, completely unique. I eat dinner and breakfast there and really, they were top notch. This is a rather boring review, but it must be one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. It is expensive, and often hotels at this price can't be as good as you hope, but this one is, at least for me. Whether there's enough here to stay for, say, a week I'm not so sure. I stayed for one night and it was the most memorable part of my stay in the Azores.

Very friendly and attentive staff. One of the biggest and tastiest breakfast buffets I’ve seen *anywhere*. Only a five minute walk from the caldeiras. This is an excellent place to base yourself for explore the eastern half of the island.

This is an ecological style resort sitting atop of the thermal water source, a two-minute walk to boiling water wells (called Furnas), which, surprisingly coexist with 50-degree F naturally carbonated mineral water fountains. All that is in a quaint little town, which is home to an absolutely stunning garden filled with exotic flowers. Hiking trails all around allow you to get your fill of adventurous treks and stunning vistas. Then jump into one of several thermal water pools on property! Breakfast was amazing, featuring everything the island’s small scale farming culture has to offer. Dining menu was simple and reasonably priced. Drinks were slightly overpriced, except for locally brewed beer on tap. Parking on property is slightly limited, even slightly off season (mid September). Renting the smallest car that you can fit in is highly advisable! There’s no real highway on the island, and locals know how to drive, so we never felt unsafe in a compact.

Das Octant liegt wunderbar inmitten von Furnas, in Angrenzung an einen Park. Die Zimmer sind schön, ebenfalls das Restaurant, die ganze Anlage bräuchte aber teilweise Renovierungen. Auch die Pools mit Thermalwasser haben uns gut gefallen, der Außenpool liegt an einer befahrenen Straße. Das Frühstück (Büffet mit Bestelloption von Kaffee und Eierspeisen) mit teilweise regionalen Produkten fanden wir auch sehr gut.

The staff were wonderful. The facilities immaculate. The design in the rooms leaves something to be desired. Very small and dark /odd decor. Very clean, great sleeping conditions. Pools and sauna Devine. Breakfast was perfection. Dinner was inconsistent in quality. One of our best meals and one of our worst. Can’t say enough about the staff. So welcoming friendly and professional .

Amazing property. The staff was great and very helpful. Such a cool experience. Breakfast was fantastic. The only negative we found was the cost of dinner and drinks. While they were exceptional the area surrounding the hotel was not really up to par for the prices they were charging at the hotel.

Very nice hotel and especially great service of the hotel staff. Food, breakfast and dinner, were always very delicious. The hotel itself ist really nice looking, however, you can see in some parts, that is a bit older and may need a renovation. Still, definitely recommend it.

A great spa hotel with excellent service but the dinner let itself down. The starters were just not great. The burger was excellent but the pork was dreadful so was sent back. Shame.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and the chef made eggs to order. The wood pizza oven and grill added flavour to the dry aged steaks. Everything we were looking for in a relaxing getaway.

This is not a five star hotel. The carpets are stained, the mirrors are cracked, the bathroom needed re grouting. A bucket was placed in the dining room collected water leaking through the roof. The telephone in the room has no instruction on how to contact reception. The sockets have no USB slots. The grounds pictured are outside of the hotel, the actual grounds are quite small and have cigarette butts littering them. The “brie” at breakfast was unmistakably laughing cow cheese triangles… I could go on. The saving grace of this hotel is the staff who are absolutely wonderful and extremely attentive. The spa treatments were also glorious! I’m sure this hotel was once very grand but it needs a lot of attention now. I’ve paid less to stay in the Ritz in London…

We stayed at the hotel for three nights and paid an average of €500 per night. For a five-star hotel, we honestly expected much more. The hotel felt quite outdated, and the wellness and spa area was not well maintained. We noticed numerous spider webs, insects, and dirt throughout the spa, and it was clear that the property is showing its age and no longer reflects the photos advertised online. To make matters worse, we experienced an invasion of around 20 cockroaches during our stay. This is simply unacceptable for a five-star hotel. Overall, we do not believe the quality of the hotel justifies the price charged. Unfortunately, the value for money was very disappointing.

We noticed numerous spider webs, insects, and dirt throughout the spa, and it was clear that the property is showing its age and no longer reflects the photos advertised online. To make matters worse, we experienced an invasion of around 20 cockroaches during our stay. This is simply unacceptable for a five-star hotel. Overall, we do not believe the quality of the hotel justifies the price charged. Unfortunately, the value for money was very disappointing.

Rooms were a bit outdated and blah not making for a great place to spend time. AC in room was hit or miss and closet light didn't close. Amenities in room were simple poor man choices. Food options were limited but local cuisine was way more expensive than local. Breakfast was so so and free so no complaint. The indoor pool, sauna were ok but consistently overbooked. Surprised no room service just water cookies at lobby. Overall the view and convenience to must see places give it light pass coupled with the AWESOME STAFF. THIS TEAM WAS THE SAVING GRACE, I would not relate this to a5 star hotel.
