Kahana Sunset C7 condo

We had a wonderful stay at Kahana Sunset - A Honu World. We came for Spring Break and while being on the west side adds time to any Maui adventure, the sunsets were worth it. We enjoyed seeing a turtle on the beach, the pool was lovely and working with the Mary was easy. I appreciated the tips about the area both in email before we arrived and in the guest book. The unit was perfect for our family of 5 and the kids loved their room. There could be a few more cooking items - cup measures, trays for using the grill, a pineapple corer (wonderful tool). On the whole though, we had everything we needed. If we ever make it back to Maui, we would stay at Kahana again!

The property was well kept and the condo has everything you need. Decent appliances and all the utensils you need. The pool was very nice. Easy check in and out. Beautiful views from the condo and the property. Close to very nice beaches.

It’s the best place. No packing up to go to a sandy beach. It’s right on property along with a pool and hot tub. Bbq area. Lounge chairs. Beautiful ocean views. Owner are great too.

We were in B10 and the views of the sunset were just beautiful!! The condo was clean and well kept. Everything functioned and it was just lovely! We will definitely stay here again!! The little beach on the property was perfect for our group of teenagers to have a blast on!! We would make dinner and have it on the community patio and watch the sunset and check out the sea life. My sisters stayed in B4 and my niece and her family stayed in C5 and they were all great!! It was a wonderful family trip!!

What a perfect setting for a fun, relaxing week in Maui. Amazing sunset views every night, the pool at the property was very nice and the private white sand beach was great. The accommodations at the Condo were just as described with no problems with WIFI and Cable TV (ample channels as well). Previous guests had apparently taken the BBQ utensils and Mick promptly delivered me a new set. Kudos to her as well as Myra and Carlin pre-vacation. We will be back!

This specific condo was nice, but had some issues. The first issue we ran in to was that the door entry key pad stopped working. It was early Sunday evening when we called to have it fixed, as we had plans to leave the condo for our nighttime plans. We called several numbers and left voicemails, but no one returned our calls. We finally called the numbers on the door, and were able to speak to the maintenance man, who wanted to help us and felt bad that no one returned our calls. He actually called us back twice to follow up and see if anyone contacted us, (which they didn't), and then called back to tell us that he was able to get through and that they said it wasn't an "emergency situation" and that was why they didn't return our calls. We essentially were held hostage in our condo, and couldn't leave because we had no way of getting back in if we left. To us, that was unacceptable!! The maintenance guy came by the next morning, but basically said it would be fixed after we leave, and we shouldn't have any problems getting back in upon our return. (Not sure why they wouldn't just fix the issue while we were there)?? The condo was spacious enough for us and clean except for the carpet leading to the second floor. It was dirty and not vacuumed in the corners or sides of the carpet throughout, which was unpleasant, as you could see all of the accumulated dirt gathered there. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, except for the pans. All of the pans were very small, and would only allow cooking in small quantities, which forced us to eat in shifts instead of all together. There was only enough seating at the counter island for 4, and the other seats were located on the lanai, which was fine when it wasn't raining. The stove looked newer at first glance, but when you go to use it, you cannot see or even read any of the burner information on the panel. The oven/broiler worked sporadically at first, but then completely stopped working, and we were not able to even use it any longer. We didn't bother to even call about it, as the issue with the key code for the door issue wasn't even handled properly, we were certain they weren't going to do anything about the stove either. The first floor bathroom was spacious and clean. The bathroom off of the master bedroom (with ocean view) was another story. Cramped and tight is an understatement. The shower door had caulk pieces that were falling off and dragging as you open and close the shower door, as well as it did nothing to prevent a pool of water from pouring out of the shower onto the bathroom floor anytime you did shower. There were plenty of toiletries and towels for both bathrooms, which was a nice surprise. They also had 3 beach towels to use while there. The master bedroom was spacious (some of that wasted space could have been better used for that tiny bathroom) and the bed was comfortable. The air conditioning was nice as well, which helped with my husbands asthma issues. The lanai was also nice. The washer and dryer were handy to have in the condo, however, the washer basin was small, so many loads had to be done in order to wash our clothes. The dryer was annoying to use, as it took 3-5 times longer than the washer to even dry the clothes. Needless to say, an upgrade there should be done. The second bedroom was cramped and the layout was weird. The bathroom was much larger than the other. The vanity drawer had some sort of liquid residue left in it from a previous user, and it was never cleaned up. The beds were comfortable in that room. The exterior of the condos was nicely kept, however the parking was quite cramped at times. The beach area was unusable for the first 3 days, as the tide was quite rough and would break on the walls surrounding the beach frontage. When the tide was behaving, the beach area was very nice. The common use grills did have some issues with burners being out on some, so it took a little longer to grill our food, and there could be a couple more added to help out when the grill area became crowed with other guests wanting to cook too. The pool area was nice, however it was supposed to be "heated" and it certainly didn't feel that way. Overall, I wish there would have been a more kid friendly area(s) so make it more fun for the kiddos that couldn't go into the ocean or pool during certain times of the day / night. Overall, it was nice, but we will be looking at other properties when we come back.

My family and I had an amazing stay at Kahana Sunset A6. Turtles and whales right outside, just steps away. Great location on the Northwest side of Maui. Loved having beach access and a beautiful pool on site. We will be back!

The View from the unit is wonderful and there is plenty of parking and easy access to the pools and BBQ areas. The unit is clean and comfortable with plenty of room. Be ready for Stairs. A few minor hiccups upon arrival (missing parking pass, ice maker not working temporarily), and one major issue with the sunshade on the back patio being broken. This limited our ability to enoy the patio and view during the afternoons...a bit disappointing.

The grounds were not well kept. We had last been ar Kahana Sunset in 2009 and it was in worse shape now than it was back then. The second area for bbqs were completely closed off due to a sink hole. We can understand the importance due to safety as to why it was closed off. However, being the busiest time of stay (Christmas) the resort should have come up with an alternative for clients as it left only 3 working (and i use that term loosely as they did not cook well at all) BBQs to use for the entire resort. There were lineups every night for up to 45 minutes just to cook your dinners. Our condo A6 was clean but run down. The air conditioner was not working. We were not advised before attending either. Instead, we were left a note to say we had a portable unit in the master bedroom... that did not cool down the entire condo or our kid's room where it was needed most. We called for maintenance to fix the ac unit but were given a SECOND portable unit for the ground floor a day later. This again did not solve the issue for our kids room. I turned the breaker off and on for the main unit and it would actually turn on for a few hours and then trip. I called to explain and have someone attend to fix... no result. This was extremely disappointing. The washer and dryer were not working properly either. The washer would make a lot of noise and leave the clothes smelling stale. The dryer would take over 4 different cycles to dry the clothes as well. The owner needs to put some care into their unit as it seems like it is a hands off-dont care situation. The master bedroom had limited outlets to the point that the owner used a power bar for the tv... and was plugged into a plug that was controlling the light switch. Comical. Again it felt like there was zero care put into the unit. The bathrooms are out of date and the master shower was dirty etc. For the amount of money we spent to be back where we were engaged 13 years ago it was extremly upsetting. We will not be back again and will be passing on the information to family and friends to avoid Kahana Sunset unless it has some time and money invested into it.

Picturesque location and views.. . Loved the private beach and pool. Property was as described and was fully stocked with everything we needed. Property manager was responsive and graciously arranged a late checkout so we could enjoy an extra couple hours. Overall a perfect spot for our family’s first visit to Hawaii!

Our stay at Kahana Sunset, A6, was amazing. Upon booking, the condo was described as outdated, but it was clean and everything was functional. We had a few minor issues, sleeper sofa springs let go, and it was fixed immediately after contacting the office. The view from our room was absolutely amazing. Very friendly and efficient staff. The grounds are pristine and the pool was nice. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. We would definitely like to return someday. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable. We love staying at Kahana Sunset with its ocean front location and beautiful grounds and this unit gives you a gorgeous view of the entire property and ocean. We stayed for 10 days and found the condo well equipped for cooking (Our family enjoys cooking and making special meals while in Maui) and stocked with staple items so we didn\'t have to buy everything at the grocery store as well as many "extras" we weren\'t expecting like shampoo, conditioner, lotion, sunscreen, etc.! My advice is to go to the unit before you go to Safeway/Foodland! I would say that the property was clean overall, but I did have to wipe the fridge out a little bit to get out some bits of produce left in the produce drawer. Check-in was a little concerning when the code we were given didn\'t work, but we were in fast contact with the property manager, Carol, who gave us another code that worked successfully. And Carol did go above and beyond in my opinion when we inquired if the unit had a broiler pan (we couldn\'t find one) and she went to the store and bought a roasting pan for us that day so we could make our ribs! Overall D4 felt like a home away from home in paradise. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us Mary, we hope to return soon!

Condo was extremely clean, the location was perfect, and had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation on Maui. We’d stay here again for sure.

Overall the property was good. Great location, great view. Kitchen was great and well stocked. Everything was very clean. Overall could use some maintenance. For instance, light bulbs burnt out, spackle on walls that should be painted, bi-fold closet doors out of their tracks. Most concerning was the outlet that kept throwing sparks in the master bedroom. But we very much enjoyed our trip and stay!

We had a great stay here! It was easy to find and smelled so clean and fresh when we walked it! Kitchen is good size for a family and has a very large peninsula counter top with bar stool eating. Maybe not great for folks with babies but worked really well for us! 2 balconies that look out onto the private beach, clean and comfy beds... what more could you aske for! We had a great stay!

Condo was not clean. Smelled musty, termite dropping upstairs and kitchen. Patios very dirty leave and debris . Flying termites in bathroom upstate’s ocean view. The master bedroom had a topper that didn’t fit the mattress and the fitted sheet kept coming off.

The condo was inviting, clean and comfortable with plenty of storage space. If we return to west Maui, we will stay here again. The property is beautiful. We went snorkeling almost every day either on site or up to 15 minutes away. The recommendations were great. Dina sent emails with relevant information and helpful tips for our stay. We ended up at the local market almost every day and ate at Fond and Joey’s kitchen multiple times during our stay. The ability to cook on site saved a lot of money, we shopped local as much as possible though that one Costco trip was helpful in the beginning. Thank you for having us!

This condo has a gorgeous view and the perfect layout to accomodate a family with plenty of space and privacy for everyone. Kahana Sunset is a great property and this unit is a prime location in the complex so you hear the ocean waves (instead of the road, as you do in other units here). It's very well stocked with amenities upon arrival and is super clean. Another review mentions a musty smell so I was a bit nervous but that was not our experience at all - it was clean and delightfully breezy as soon as we opened the doors and windows upon arrival to get that fresh ocean breeze. Beds were extremely comfy (and I am picky about beds!) Additionally, AC is hard to find in the low density complexes on West Maui so that was a nice luxury as well. Highly recommend and we will definitely pick this unit to stay again!

Absolutely loved this condo! We brought our family of six for my son’s graduation and it was perfect. All of the beds are exceptionally comfortable. The view is breathtaking from both balconies (one off of the master and one off of the living room). The kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner. We also appreciated the beach towels and sunscreen. We swam with the turtles and snorkeled every day in the bay. Excellent location to Kapalua and Black Rock. Individually each member of my family came to me, saying how much they loved it, and asked if we could book it again for next year. Mahalo Mary and Nick! The Maxsons

Overall we enjoyed the location and the grounds as well as the relative seclusion of the Kahana Sunset condos compared to other condo complexes on Maui. This was our second stay at Kahana Sunset. It is our observation that the condos are showing their age regarding the furniture and bedding. The one issue we had on this trip was that the oven did not work. We checked in on Saturday evening and notified iTrips on Sunday. On Sunday a maintenance person came and checked out the oven and confirmed the issue and scheduled an appliance repair person to visit on Monday. The repair person showed up on Monday and found the control panel needed to be replaced. After this visit we never heard a word about the status of the oven repair from iTrips. Unfortunately, we had planned several meals requiring use of the oven. There were a number of minor issues with the condo that should have been reported to iTrips by cleaning crew prior to renters showing up such as: - light bulbs in need of replacing - exhaust in upstairs bathroom did not work - loose kitchen faucet (was repaired by maintenance on Sunday) - a broom with no dustpan - shower in upstairs front bathroom very slippery could be a fall risk needs traction on the floor or a mat You shouldn't rely on renters to inform you of needed repairs/maintenance.

Location can’t be beat. Place was clean but very dated. Needs serious upgrades to the bathrooms. Only real complaint was the doors on the entrances. One of the handles on the screen slider to the 1st floor lanai was on the floor when we arrived. No big deal but should be fixed. Also, one of the glass slats on the rear entrance fell off and smashed on the floor with normal use. This must be a common thing as there were spares in a drawer. Don’t let the above keep you from staying here. Place was great and we would stay here again.

Propery and location was just what we were looking for. Saw turtles in the ocean right outside of our door every afternoon. The condo was very comfortable for the four of us. Would definitely stay here again.

I was worried about booking this unit based on reviews but found the unit to be in good condition. It does need some TLC and a new coat of paint otherwise we booked for the oceanfront view. We slept with the windows open every night listening to the ocean. Our kids enjoyed the heated pool and the beach was great to have. The bay isn’t as protected as some other bays so it does get wavy. But overall we would book this unit again. We had friends that had a much newer unit at Kapalua that said they would stay in our place anytime! 3 bathrooms and two showers was very nice! AC was exceptional as well!

We finally called the numbers on the door, and were able to speak to the maintenance man, who wanted to help us and felt bad that no one returned our calls. He actually called us back twice to follow up and see if anyone contacted us, (which they didn't), and then called back to tell us that he was able to get through and that they said it wasn't an "emergency situation" and that was why they didn't return our calls. We essentially were held hostage in our condo, and couldn't leave because we had no way of getting back in if we left. To us, that was unacceptable!! The maintenance guy came by the next morning, but basically said it would be fixed after we leave, and we shouldn't have any problems getting back in upon our return. (Not sure why they wouldn't just fix the issue while we were there)?? The condo was spacious enough for us and clean except for the carpet leading to the second floor. It was dirty and not vacuumed in the corners or sides of the carpet throughout, which was unpleasant, as you could see all of the accumulated dirt gathered there. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, except for the pans. All of the pans were very small, and would only allow cooking in small quantities, which forced us to eat in shifts instead of all together. There was only enough seating at the counter island for 4, and the other seats were located on the lanai, which was fine when it wasn't raining. The stove looked newer at first glance, but when you go to use it, you cannot see or even read any of the burner information on the panel. The oven/broiler worked sporadically at first, but then completely stopped working, and we were not able to even use it any longer. We didn't bother to even call about it, as the issue with the key code for the door issue wasn't even handled properly, we were certain they weren't going to do anything about the stove either. The first floor bathroom was spacious and clean. The bathroom off of the master bedroom (with ocean view) was another story. Cramped and tight is an understatement. The shower door had caulk pieces that were falling off and dragging as you open and close the shower door, as well as it did nothing to prevent a pool of water from pouring out of the shower onto the bathroom floor anytime you did shower. There were plenty of toiletries and towels for both bathrooms, which was a nice surprise. They also had 3 beach towels to use while there. The master bedroom was spacious (some of that wasted space could have been better used for that tiny bathroom) and the bed was comfortable. The air conditioning was nice as well, which helped with my husbands asthma issues. The lanai was also nice. The washer and dryer were handy to have in the condo, however, the washer basin was small, so many loads had to be done in order to wash our clothes. The dryer was annoying to use, as it took 3-5 times longer than the washer to even dry the clothes. Needless to say, an upgrade there should be done. The second bedroom was cramped and the layout was weird. The bathroom was much larger than the other. The vanity drawer had some sort of liquid residue left in it from a previous user, and it was never cleaned up. The beds were comfortable in that room. The exterior of the condos was nicely kept, however the parking was quite cramped at times. The beach area was unusable for the first 3 days, as the tide was quite rough and would break on the walls surrounding the beach frontage. When the tide was behaving, the beach area was very nice. The common use grills did have some issues with burners being out on some, so it took a little longer to grill our food, and there could be a couple more added to help out when the grill area became crowed with other guests wanting to cook too. The pool area was nice, however it was supposed to be "heated" and it certainly didn't feel that way. Overall, I wish there would have been a more kid friendly area(s) so make it more fun for the kiddos that couldn't go into the ocean or pool during certain times of the day / night. Overall, it was nice, but we will be looking at other properties when we come back.

The condo was inviting, clean and comfortable with plenty of storage space. If we return to west Maui, we will stay here again. The property is beautiful. We went snorkeling almost every day either on site or up to 15 minutes away. The recommendations were great. Dina sent emails with relevant information and helpful tips for our stay. We ended up at the local market almost every day and ate at Fond and Joey’s kitchen multiple times during our stay. The ability to cook on site saved a lot of money, we shopped local as much as possible though that one Costco trip was helpful in the beginning. Thank you for having us!

Overall we enjoyed the location and the grounds as well as the relative seclusion of the Kahana Sunset condos compared to other condo complexes on Maui. This was our second stay at Kahana Sunset. It is our observation that the condos are showing their age regarding the furniture and bedding. The one issue we had on this trip was that the oven did not work. We checked in on Saturday evening and notified iTrips on Sunday. On Sunday a maintenance person came and checked out the oven and confirmed the issue and scheduled an appliance repair person to visit on Monday. The repair person showed up on Monday and found the control panel needed to be replaced. After this visit we never heard a word about the status of the oven repair from iTrips. Unfortunately, we had planned several meals requiring use of the oven. There were a number of minor issues with the condo that should have been reported to iTrips by cleaning crew prior to renters showing up such as: - light bulbs in need of replacing - exhaust in upstairs bathroom did not work - loose kitchen faucet (was repaired by maintenance on Sunday) - a broom with no dustpan - shower in upstairs front bathroom very slippery could be a fall risk needs traction on the floor or a mat You shouldn't rely on renters to inform you of needed repairs/maintenance.

You’ll have everything you need for a great vacation . Quality furnishings and a very well maintained complex that is close to shopping and jumping off points for tours . Dina was very helpful with advice and recommendations. Nice pool and grounds . There were five of us (Four staying at the condo). Excellent kitchen to save some on eating out. Thanks again .

Picturesque location and views.. . Loved the private beach and pool. Property was as described and was fully stocked with everything we needed. Property manager was responsive and graciously arranged a late checkout so we could enjoy an extra couple hours. Overall a perfect spot for our family’s first visit to Hawaii!

We very much enjoyed our stay at this condo during the week of Christmas 2023. The property is just as advertised in the listing. The unit is thoughtfully stocked with everything you will need and many other extras. Location is nice - quiet area, less than a mile from Napili beach and shopping and restaurants at Napili plaza. Kaanapali beach and Whaler’s village are an easy 15 minute drive away. You will enjoy your stay in this unit.

The property was well kept and the condo has everything you need. Decent appliances and all the utensils you need. The pool was very nice. Easy check in and out. Beautiful views from the condo and the property. Close to very nice beaches.

Absolutely loved this condo! We brought our family of six for my son’s graduation and it was perfect. All of the beds are exceptionally comfortable. The view is breathtaking from both balconies (one off of the master and one off of the living room). The kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner. We also appreciated the beach towels and sunscreen. We swam with the turtles and snorkeled every day in the bay. Excellent location to Kapalua and Black Rock. Individually each member of my family came to me, saying how much they loved it, and asked if we could book it again for next year. Mahalo Mary and Nick! The Maxsons

Absolutely loved this rental. The property was well maintained, rental manager was super quick to respond to any request. Pool area and small beach are great, you can see turtles there almost every day. We also rented paddle boards and launched from there, paddled WAY out into the channel and ended up having whales come up around us within 20 yards! Saw whales from our deck EVERY day. (Jan 4th-14th stay) Grocery store and restaurants close. Napili and kapalua bay beaches really close, and Lahaina is just a short drive. Would definitely stay here again.

My family and I had an amazing stay at Kahana Sunset A6. Turtles and whales right outside, just steps away. Great location on the Northwest side of Maui. Loved having beach access and a beautiful pool on site. We will be back!

Peaceful location away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to all the hot spots and beaches. Easy access to grocery stores.

Close to Kapalua where we were volunteering in the Sentry. Been coming to Kahana Sunset for 50 years, sad that they are losing the beach, but condos are still great and never dissapoint.
