Motel 6-Smyrna, GA - Atlanta

Older hotel. hallways need updating, rooms could use it too. That being said the staff is Very friendly, the rooms are clean and there is plenty of hot water. If you want amenities this probably isn't the stay for you. In need of a clean comfortable bed? you could do ALOT worse.

Water leaking from A/C unit into floor. Stains and burns in blankets. Handprints on the walls. Weed smell in hallways. Ok for 1 night but would not stay multiple nights.

Limited dining choices outside of fast food. There was no chair in our room from which to sit to dine. The remote would not change TV channels. Outside access door never closed properly. Ice was only accessible from front desk clerk. Front desk clerk did assist with obtaining a chair.

It’s straight for the price and free dog stay

First off the property was average on the outside , looked nothing like the pictures, however the front desk was very helpful when needed. I would give this place a 2 out 5 because , first off it has a moldy smell throughout the whole building, especially the hallways , the hallways were also dirty, my biggest regret staying here is you can sense the mold it indeed has MOLD , my head did not start hurting until I stayed the first night, I started feeling lethargic and ill out of nowhere, the rooms were mediocrely clean , towels had hairs on them, floors were not swept and mopped , the bedding had stains and cigarette burns, mind you I had a non smoking room, my biggest problem is the first night I woke up to a burning sensation on my arm , there’s these bugs in the room , they weren’t beg bugs because I was the only one that was stung, gave me 3 big welts on my arm. One thing that I will say is the area is very convenient that’s one good thing about my stay , it was a weekend girls trip getaway , so we were barely there, but still would’ve liked to be accommodated better, they have an ice box in the room but not on the floors , you have to get the ice from a maker in the office on the 1st floor, which is inconvenient, my friends and I forgot toothpaste, so we went to see if the front desk gave out the sample packs , they literally have a vending machine for essentials , for a travel size toothpaste for $3??!! Oh yeah? BEWARE of the BIG ASS RATS around the property at night !

Basic amenities, simple basic stay!

The staff member at check-in did not make eye contact and did not provide any information except for the room number. The staff member at checkout was very friendly. This was probably the highlight of the stay. The elevator was not working (but the check in person didn't mention this), so we carried our bags up the stairs. The hotel property was unkempt and the room was not cleaned thoroughly (e,g, food scraps, dust and hair from previous guests); the white bed sheets were stained. There was soap and towels, but no hangers, iron or hair dryer. The microwave was dirty and the AC and/or fridge were leaking. We were only there for one night and didn’t spend much time in the room. If you need a cheap place to stay and cleanliness or smells is not an issue for you, this is the place for you. I would not re-book in the future.

Staff were not welcoming. I was ignored when I walked to the desk. Staff had an attitude and asked me to assist another patron with a cash app request. I was a bit skeptical about it and he seemed annoyed by that. Ac leaked in the room and had towels to catch the water that was leaking. Tub had black spots around it and visible damage. Trash outside by the end of the night. The property has potential but you can tell the owners just don’t maintain it well.

My only issue with my stay was that I found roaches in my room. The staff was great but finding insect in my room is not.

This property was filthy everywhere

The whole hotel has an ordor, The hotel looks like its going to collapse any day now, I had to keep asking to reset my key because the card reader was malfunctioning, There was 2 dead flies on the bed. It was just ghetto overall

The room and the property were disgusting. There were empty alcohol bottles in the room, chewed gum on the floor, mold in the bathroom and a terrible smell in the hallways. There was loose hair everywhere from wigs, i’m assuming. The front desk had bullet proof glass. It was one of the worst stays I’ve encountered. This property should be taken off of your site immediately for the health and safety of other guests.

So dirty i felt disgusting just being in there. It also smelled like urine in the hall ways and the room. The air conditioning blew air that smelled like urine.

Room was very nasty..floors were dirty blankets stink and the microwave was really dirty food everywhere but the tub was the cleanest thing in the room. The hallways smelled disgusting you can tell they don’t care about this place.

I know it’s motel 6 but I have been to much nicer motel 6’s than this. Hotel and room were dirty. My sheets were stained. And it smelled bad. There was trash everywhere in the parking lot. I left after being there for a couple of hours.

LOUD BANGING UP STAIRS ALLLLLL NIGHT!

When we stayed, they put us under a room that seemed to have long term residents in it. They just kept on making noise and stomping all over the place and moving furniture. At night, they played their music loudly until 3 in the morning. On the second day we've had enough and I went to speak to the attendant who stated that they would relay the information to the manager when they arrived in the morning which meant that we had to deal with the stomping and furniture moving and loud music for a whole other night. I don't understand how we couldn't be moved when we complained several times that day. We did end up speaking to the manager in the morning who finally put us in a different room which thankfully didn't have any problems from the previous room. Unfortunately the shower curtain was caked in mold which made it hard to shower and not get that stuff on you.

This is an older hotel but Ok if you are looking for budget friendly. Halls smelled bad and rooms are older but just ok. The pillows are super flat and when I asked for an extra pillow they had none. Went to Walmart and bought two that unfortunately they got to keep.

floor was sticky, had a bad smell throughout. tv did not work, switched rooms and tv still did not work. besides sticky floor, room was ok.

Room smelled like stale smoke. Beds were very hard. Pillows were not much of a pillow. Very outdated. Should make customers be aware people live it the hotel. Price didn't match what we were told by Expedia.

The hotel is not good. The pictures are not what the hotel actually is. The floor in the room was wet, we think the air conditioner was leaking, the flooring was bubbled. The toilet seat was broke. They kept saying no smoking but the hallway was full of cigarette smoke. Shady characters in the parking lot, seemed like a rent by the hour kind of place. Definitely get what you pay for. The beds didn't seem like queen more like full, and the pillows were horrible.

The room was fifty. The hallway just stinks so bad from animal piss. It smelled so bad. The first room i got the air didn’t work. It took 45 min for them to switch my room. There was a homeless man always in the stairwell asking for money while charging his phone.

The place is worn down, television doesn't work most of the time, the bed sheets are ripped, the room was not cleaned, bugs are constantly showing up, and there's strange stains on the lights on the wall

Water was not clear it was very disturbing when I saw the color of it, I also took a picture if needed to show, and I needed to change room because the ac wasn’t working

There was only one pillow per person on the bed,and the room wasn't cooling off at all

The guys at the counter were very courteous.

I made reservations but i knew i wouldn't arive before midnight on the day of check in. I called in advance to inform the staff not to cancel my reservations and to asure them i was coming and i was on my way but i wouldn't be there before midnight. The gentlemen i spoke to said that wouldn't be a problem so i thanked the man and told him i would see them soon. When i arrived at the hotel the same gentlemen that i talked to on the phone prior to my arrival was still at the front desk but canceled my reservation anyway. He then proceeds to tell me he doesn't have any rooms now he can put me in. Will not ever use this hotel again EVER!!!!!

The staff was incredible, shout out to Clay. The room was extremely clean. 10 out of 10 would recommend and will definitely be staying again the next time I’m in the area.

At 10 am the cleaning staff was talking very loud and the pillows are terrible, no shampoo the carpet very bad conditions

Have laundry and is tucked in corner right of highway

Sketchy people around, terrible stench in hallway, feces in stairwell. Cheap and room was okay for the price. Did not feel safe.

Close to major travel route.

The property was in deplorable condition, trash everywhere entrance side door had NO LOCK, had been jimmied and all kinds of rif raf hanging about on cars and in the parking lot. Felt like I was in the getto. No iron/ironing boards, no shampoo, no coffee pot..........The entire property had a nauseating odor. I felt trapped into the reservation or I would have gone elsewhere.

DUMP! Very dim parking lot w/ thugs & what appeared to be illegal activity going on in plain sight! Cops stayed there during the night! Filthy, HUGE RATS, REEKED OF MARIJUANA & CIGARETTES! Nasty rooms, shower rod ripped from wall, wads of hair everywhere, nasty substances on sink & walls, BULLET HOLE IN WINDOW!!! Needs to be CONDEMNED!!! We left along with 4 other families!!! DISGUSTING!!!!!!!

Far from restaurants and dining but quiet location

I had a bad feeling about this 1 night booking when the receptionist failed to notice me standing behind the dirty and scratched Perspex screen, he had his bare feet up on the desk and was engrossed watching his screen. Only had vending machine snacks, nowhere to walk. The bed was ok but the room reminded me of a $10 backpacker place in Thailand. Marginally a better option than sleeping in the car !

The motel was ok ...needed some upgrades too many undesirables. The app stated that they had a light breakfast no breakfast ants in the room toilet in the bathroom sinking in I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay there it was just it was okay but it wasn't up to the standards that I am accustomed to

If you just need a place to crash, then it's serviceable. I wouldn't bring children here, though and I DEFINITELY wouldn't plan a vacation around a stay here. As soon as you walk in, it just smells foul and that's just the lobby. The room smelled like set-in cigarettes, urine, and mold. I was genuinely afraid to get in the bed because I didn't want my skin touching the sheets. Frankly, I didn't bother taking a shower because the bathroom was questionable, at best. I just waited until I got home (which was the first thing I did when I got back home). It was a mess. Also, they advertise free breakfast, but it was just coffee, not that I was going to eat there after seeing the condition of the building. What I will say is that the front desk staff was nice and courteous. They were the single saving grace for this facility and the only reason I didn't give this a score of zero. But, yeah, do not recommend. It's called a MOTEL for a reason and now I know why.
