A great place to stay. Super clean and very large. We had two bedrooms and a full kitchen. The heated floors in the bathroom were a wonderful surprise. Only a 10 min walk from the bus terminal. The host was very helpful. We were able to drop off our luggage pre checkin so we didn’t have to cart it around all day. Would highly recommend.

Excellent emplacement proche des différents sites à visiter et très calme (parking gratuit dans la rue). L'appartement était très agréable, la literie confortable, les couettes douces, capsules de café et thé à disposition. Tout était parfait !

The owner was extremely responsive to any questions we had and was very helpful. The apartment is beautiful and comfortable. The linens on the beds were very nice and towels were replaced every day. Parking is an issue nearby if you happen to rent a car. Several times we had to park more than three blocks away. The shower and bathtub combo is not handicapped accessible if you need that. We loved having a small kitchen which helped to save some money on foods. Coffee and tea is provided and the brands are excellent!

Great studio flat in an excellent location just a short walk to the city centre of Reykjavik. The studio had everything we needed for our short stay, including French press, kettle, pots, pans etc. The bed was very comfy and there was loads of free parking on the street.

Check in was simple, it was walking distance to anything down town but tucked away from the busyness. The little kitchen was perfect for making a quick meal, which is nice as dining out is pricey in Reykjavík. Would highly recommend!

Very good Guesthouse with first class service from the Manager, Thorey. Spotlessly clean, recently refurbished and very comfortable apartment. A few minor points resolved very speedily. Brilliant location for Reykjavik centre, famous Hallgrimskirkja Church and the BSI Bus station to Keflavik Airport

We had a layover in Keflavík on our way home from elsewhere. High wind speeds delayed and eventually cancelled all flights. Cue hundreds of passengers from multiple flights scrambling to book hotels at the same time. After lots of “sold out” on every website I eventually found Galtafell and am so glad we stayed there. Super clean and comfortable, and a short walk from everything so we were able to enjoy some time enjoying the city on this unplanned stay. When we have a proper trip to Iceland again we would definitely stay there. Thank you so much!

GREAT LOCATION!! CLEAN!! -Our safe did not work. We did not contact owner because we were able to use something else. -Bottom of bathroom door and wall on door facing were water damaged- needed replacing.

The property had seen better days. Our room was just a converted garage. We picked to location only because friends we knew were staying there. I would have stayed in a hotel as the amenities would have been better. The people running this were gracious and accommodating.

Absolutely perfect location for travelers who will rely on Flybus from Reykjavik to main bus terminal. Easy 10 min walk from there, similar distance to heart of Reykjavik. Quiet at night. Some rooms are small and sparse in the converted garage, others are in main guesthouse building with more traditional furnishings. Easy arrived and departure and kind staff. Location is a 11/10 though for travelers on a modest budget using Flybus transfer.

The hotel was attractive looking in a nice area of town. The room was modern, clean, and very well kept, but it was definitely small. We had 2 large suitcases and barely had enough room to walk around the bed and open the doors! If you are traveling light or don't mind being cramped, it's a pleasant hotel in a residential area of town with easy access to the main shopping area / church.

We booked a one-bedroom suite at Guesthouse Galtafell for a quick overnight stop in Reykjavik. Communication from the property was excellent; they reached out to confirm our preferences a week ahead of time, and accommodated them perfectly. Check-in and out were a breeze. Although our short stay did not allow us to fully take advantage of the amenities, we noted that the suite was spacious and kitchen equipped with everything we would need for a longer stay. The property was clean and walkable to town and local attractions. It was also more reasonably-priced than other properties (in the centre of town) we've stayed at previously. The property itself is older (like many buildings in Reykjavik) but our suite was newly renovated, comfortable and modern. It's also very close to the domestic (not KEF) airport and the bus terminal. We would definitely place Guesthouse Galtafell at the top of our list for future trips to Reykjavik!

We had a small apartment on the first floor of a big house. Easy to find. Nice living space where you could cook if you wanted to. Separate big bedroom space. The only negative is the shower is inside a very deep tub. Very clean.

Wir haben diese Unterkunft wegen der Bilder auf der Homepage gebucht. Dies war und auch den stolzen Preis von über 200€ für eine Nacht wert. Was wir vorfanden hat in keiner Weise unseren Vorstellungen entsprochen. Das Zimmer befand sich in einem Anbau (ausgebaute Garage ?). Das Fenster war lediglich ein Oberlicht, der Raum war höhlenartig dunkel. Der Blick aus dem „Fenster“ fällt direkt auf die gegenüberliegende Wand. Es entstand eine unangenehme „Knastatmosphäre“. Zu den Gastgebern bestand keinerlei Kontakt, da die Namen der Gäste lediglich mit Zetteln an den Zimmern ausgehängt sind. Meines Erachtens ist es eine Unverschämtheit für ein solches Zimmer und einen nicht vorhandenen Service über 200€ zu berechnen. Ich rate von dieser Unterkunft ab!

Nice room in good location, less than 10 mins from BSI bus terminal for transport to airport & trip pick ups. Also only about 10mins walk to central rekyavik & less to a supermarket. Room fairly compact but fine for short trip for couple, prob 2 tight for 2 friends/twin bed set up. Clean and very nice bathroom, heating good & plenty of hot water. More of an airbnb set up than guesthouse, only saw owner at check out but available if any issues/need info & luggage can be stored before/after check out (our room was available early which was great). There is a fridge (silent so no issue at night) and a kettle, we took instant porridge pots for breakfast 😀

We really enjoyed our stay at Guesthouse Galtafell! Really good value for money, clean and lovely and warm rooms. The location is amazing, walking distance to BSI bus station and central Reykjavik. Checking in was so easy too! We had a small issue in our room. The toilet leaked but Guesthouse Galtafell could not have done more! They immediately moved us to a new upgraded room and were so apologetic. Things happen but the way they dealt with the situation was brilliant! Without hesitation, I would stay here again and will have no issue recommending this room to anyone! Thank you Guesthouse Galtafell

The host was great. Very communicative and arranged for us to self check in late and as an extra bonus we were able to leave our bags after checkout for a couple of hours which was very convenient. The room was clean and fine for our one night stay. However, there was a strange smell from the water in the pipes which made the entire room smell a little unpleasant and there was a lot of noise throughout the night from the walkway right outside as guests checked in and out so be mindful of that if you are a light sleeper. Overall it is in a good walkable location and fine for a short stay.

Very nice guesthouse situated in a quiet area, yet close to central city. Owners contacted us before arrival to instruct about access to our room. When leaving, my daughter forgot her gloves and hat in the room. The owner contacted us and arranged sending the items to Sweden. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

We checked in late due to our travel there and the owner had everything ready with key and access to the room. We met her on the last day and she was so sweet. Beautiful accommodations like we stepped into another place, not your average hotel. Only small complaint was the sulfur smell when taking a shower and it didn’t vent well, so all steam from the shower settled on everything in the bathroom making everything wet, lol. We managed though.

Everything about this stay was top tier! The location: near the BSI, trendy restaurant and retail strip yet on a quiet street. The host was responsive and considerate. She graciously made an accommodation that brightened my brief but lovely stay. The facilities are consciously planned out in detail, clean and comfortable. The best!

Absolutely perfect location for travelers who will rely on Flybus from Reykjavik to main bus terminal. Easy 10 min walk from there, similar distance to heart of Reykjavik. Quiet at night. Some rooms are small and sparse in the converted garage, others are in main guesthouse building with more traditional furnishings. Easy arrived and departure and kind staff. Location is a 11/10 though for travelers on a modest budget using Flybus transfer.

I was allowed to check in early after arriving at Keflavik in an overnight flight. I was allowed to check in as soon as I arrived - around 10:30 a.m. Extremely comfortable bed, quiet neighbourhood, you can walk downtown in about 10 minutes.

We really enjoyed our stay at Guesthouse Galtafell! Really good value for money, clean and lovely and warm rooms. The location is amazing, walking distance to BSI bus station and central Reykjavik. Checking in was so easy too! We had a small issue in our room. The toilet leaked but Guesthouse Galtafell could not have done more! They immediately moved us to a new upgraded room and were so apologetic. Things happen but the way they dealt with the situation was brilliant! Without hesitation, I would stay here again and will have no issue recommending this room to anyone! Thank you Guesthouse Galtafell

Excellent choice for a few nights in Reykjavik. Nicely renovated small suites in a converted large home. Its an easy walk from the main bus station for airport (and other) buses, and close enough to walk into central Reykjavik. Would certainly stay here again if we return to Iceland.

Excellent location within short walk of BSI bus terminal and not much further to downtown. Our small apartment had large living area with two tables and large couch with wall of windows overlooking garden Impressed with the generous supply of coffee and tea. Well stocked kitchen. Would definitely choose again.

Loved our stay, wish we could have stayed longer. Very comfortable room, had everything we needed. Super quick walk to the bus station for the flybus, and easy walk to restaurants, bars and sightseeing.

This was a great place to stay. It was a beautiful, clean room and a great location near to the church as well as the BSI bus terminal. I would definitely stay there again if I ever get back to Iceland and highly recommend it.

Good location on a quiet street with easy walking to many restaurants, museums and shops. The room was fine but very small. We liked that the room was ready when we arrived early and our name was invitingly on our room door with the key in the lock. We would stay again for the location and the price.
