This motel is a little slice of heaven. Clean, eco-modern spaces… beautiful grounds with a field, fire pit and areas to just relax in nature. I woke up to monarch caterpillars on milkweed outside my door. Beautiful gardens of native plants spread across the property… My son is at a college up the road and I have absolutely found my hotel; no need to look elsewhere!

Quick, friendly check in. Room was clean. However, it smelled strongly of their fragranced cleaners. It really choked us up and brought on coughing fits for both of us. Had to open the door and turn the AC fan on high to get rid of the excess fragrance smell. The pillows were flat. One side of the bed was extremely broken down. I actually laid in a deep indentation on my side of the bed.

We found the staff to be quite friendly and helpful. The room was satisfactory;however, the bed was exteremly uncomfortable and I have a bad back and did not sleep well either night. i haven't slept on a matress on which my wife and I rolled toward each other nor one that was that bad in a long time.

Absolutely loved this little out of the way gem. Room was very clean and updated with character. Comfortable King size bed and spacious room. Loved the local art in the room. Wish we had more time to stay here

Pleasant welcoming by staff. Room was modern with a bed and breakfast feel not the cookie cutter motel feel. The queen bed was very comfortable and clean. It had a small pull out sofa (that I did not use) and a small table to sit at and eat/relax. The tv was on the small side but worked fine. It had a small mini fridge and coffee maker too - both worked well too. Bathroom was clean and modern with a stand up shower stall with a waterfall type shower head. Ac was ice cold. It had a small cement patio out front with a few chairs and table too. It is about a mile up out of the town on a hill away from the city so peaceful with beautiful Vermont Mountain View. I would definitely stay here again but I wish the price was more reasonable (175$ including tax).

Great hosts. People were wonderful. Breakfast was continental, but excellent. Nice mattress. Basic structure of the room was updated, but the room structure was poor. Ceiling height is 7' with old cheap ceiling cover. Old door with poor security, outdated key lock. Deadbolt could easily be kicked in through old wood frame. Shower was small and cheap, although the shower head was nice. Curtains were mismatched, old, flimsy, and did not cover the ground floor windows well from the sidewalk immediately outside. Just felt a little creepy.

We were greeted by the owner and promptly checked in. When i mentioned we were moving to Bennington and were closing on a house the next day, she made us feel so welcomed! The hotel amenities are fantastic and the place was beyond clean. Beautiful continental breakfast every morning with trays to take back to your room, so worth it. I would highly recommend Harwood for a couple getaway and more.

We had a very pleasant two night stay. We appreciated the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff (Heath and Martha), the breakfast, good restaurant within walking distance, the comfortable bed and general cleanliness, and the art work in the room, office, and on the grounds. We bought a painting which decorated our room :)

We were on our way to NH and needed a place to stay the night. Haywood Hill Motel was perfect. They have updated the rooms and added interesting art to them. The continental breakfast was a nice change from the typical ones at chain hotels.

Great hotel due to late flight we emailed on the day we were going to be late owner replied it wasn’t a problem told us our room number and even left the light on. Great room nice breakfast and friendly staff shame we weren’t there a bit earlier

Conveniently located in a quiet area just to the north of Bennington. Easily accessible. Excellent continental breakfast with a good choice of high quality food and a delightful and helpful host. Harwood Hill exceeded my expectations- SO GLAD I chose this over a chain. I was able to check in late easily and it's a super convenient location. The room was adorable, and had everything I needed- it felt recently updated and meticulously cared for. Bedding was comfortable and clean. The only aspects that feel like a 'motel' would be the exterior door (you park right outside your room) and the size of the shower (which was completely fine for my needs!) It really feels more like a boutique hotel. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic!! High end continental with fresh fruit, great yogurt, excellent coffee, and I really appreciate the availability of real local cream rather than creamer. I'm sad i didn't have a bagel after reading other reviews. Really above and beyond! The interaction I had with host was friendly and helpful. I'll absolutely stay here again when I'm in the area.

This is not an "inn." It is a motel with tiny (12 x 16) rooms with the bathroom carved out of the space. It is clean. However, be careful if you try to use the bathroom at night. There's no nightlight and you run into the wall because the floor slants so much. The continental breakfast is in a GARGAGE with the doors up. There were 8 cars in the parking area and 5 chairs at a single table in the garage. The toaster could warm, but not toast your bagel so you carry your quickly cooling bagel back to you room to eat off your lap. This facility is NOT worth the money. At half the price it is not worth it.

We were on our way to NH and needed a place to stay the night. Haywood Hill Motel was perfect. They have updated the rooms and added interesting art to them. The continental breakfast was a nice change from the typical ones at chain hotels.

Cute motel in a convenient location. The staff are very kind and helpful. Property and room are decorated with local art and there is a lovely continental breakfast with quiet places to sit and look across the valley. We enjoyed our stay.

This is such a unique property, full of creative landscaping and highlighted with intriguing works of art! The rooms are nicely appointed and furnished to include reclaimed and repurposed pieces that give off a warm and friendly atmosphere! We have returned 4 times, and will always choose this delightful spot when traveling through Bennington!
