Nice and safe security, although the gate was left open one evening. Great location and the adjacent hotel was excellent for food on both evenings. Highly recommend and if all NightCaps are premises like this and the Wollongong one, I know where will stay when next in Australia! Well done Ferntree Gully Motel. Tony S

Stayed at the property as we were working in the area. Good location on Burwood Highway but the rooms were set well back from the road and were not effected by road noise.

The only improvements I can recommend are: 1) for the bed wheels to be lockable so that it does roll out from the wall when you are sitting in bed watching TV. 2) Positioning of ceiling track lights could be adjusted so a not to reflect back into your eyes from the TV screen. 3) An elevator (I have a recovering back surgery issue)

internal standard was reasonably good, but,would be a good idea to replace the very flimsy toilet seats with good quality soft close seats. The outside areas were grubby, littered with rubbish, used plastic drink bottles etc, we liked the possums ( a mother and baby on mum's back ) who welcomed us back around 12-30 am. How about an area in the bistro where you can order from a menu, not an ' all you can eat ' buffet.

The beds are single beds just pushed together to make a queen size, so you sink on the middle. The bathroom had pubes, and I found the staff dismissive.

I don't normally post a review on any businesses or hotels, unless of course they deserve to be held accountable for their poor hygiene or their rudeness towards customers or their disgusting rooms that don't get serviced daily, so therefore here goes. I have to let people know before staying or booking here that you're at a high risk of getting unwell due to the black mould found in the split system units and the filters not getting cleaned on a regular basis due to lazy staff/ venue management. I have stayed here quite regularly due to not having a house of my own, so therefore i wouldn't know where i might end up from day to day. When booking @ random times during the day, on arrival one day I was told by the receptionist Tracey that if I could rebook for the next night before 10am checkout as her staff are wasting there time servicing the room because I was back again. Not to mention how poor they cleaned the room, they didn't vac the carpet unless I requested they do, always missed replacing things in the room, never took any feedback on board to better anyone's experience at the hotel, they have no microwaves or any kitchen essentials not even any cutlery FFS... Recently as of late I was kicked out of this hotel for standing up for what's right, not for what their excuses or lies they all pretended to believe was the truth. The room was nice, clean and tidy. If I had to give a negative about our stay would be only because we had the upper stories room. And as I have a bung knew and the wife had a bung hip we found it a bit difficult to get to our room. As there was no staff at the motel we were not able to change it. But that's our fault. Other than that I could not fault the accommodation.

clean, Comfortable bed and room. Great shower two things i didn't like.....aircon was not very good looked a bit dirty. needs some servicing, i think. the other was a great gig spiderweb in the same corner. that was there the whole 4 days. otherwise i was very happy with everything..thank you.ill stay again some time in the future

Great night, very quiet area. Room was super clean and comfortable, and very spacious! Tea and coffee provided which was nice, as well as little necessities (shampoo, conditioner, body wash). Overall great night stay, would do it again.

The room was pretty clean, except we had an infestation of ants, which were quickly exterminated and didnt really cause a problem. The meals and bar staff were brilliant, we couldn't ask for any better. Our biggest disappointment was we were unable to check out early and have the day credited. We attempted to check out with 24 hours notice, however the reception was unmanned and the bar was shut.

The room was clean as well as cheerful. But it was the beds that sold us! Soooo comfortable and cozy doonas as well as great pillows. From the outside it isn't much to look at, but the room was quite sweet inside.

It was a very cold evening, wet & miserable, the night we arrived. We also arrived late. Earlier that day, we had a call & text to let us know how to access our room, so it was a seamless entry. The bonus for us was when we walked into the room, it was toasty and welcoming- our lovely host had left the air-conditioning on for us. Priceless service and very much appreciated. 👌

Disappointed with reception...we stay here regularly and we travel 3 1/2 hours to get there when we arrive half an hour early they always turn us away and come back at 2pm...other hotels check if room is ready and most often let us in early...grunpy receptionists dont do the hotel any favours

Not happy after paying for the room on Wotif then not being allowed to check in because my drivers licence (interstate license) shows it expired - however has been renewed remotely on line! Whats even more upsetting is that i stayed there for 4 nights last week, yet the gaming lady at the sports bar (where you check in after hours) knew that id payed for the room last night and was aware that i was a guest there last week! I want a refund from from the Ferntree gully hotel!!!!!

Got there and had to change the booking on the spot. Completely helpful, no questions asked. The staff are a credit to the management. You should give them a raise. I have their number, if you don't, I'll drop it to one star don't come here .....

Whether pre-check-in is completed or not the process for check-in is by far the worst part of the experience here. Last night the staff focused on everything but checking in. When I asked why the pre-check-in because they did it all again manually anyway, they said don't know we're just the bar staff??

Really good location for Puffing Billy. A short drive down the road. Staff were nice and helpful. There is a bar / restaurant on-site - with a buffet - lots of choice, quite bland food. The play room is only connected with the buffet restaurant, it's not available for attending anytime. The doors from the motel rooms open easily from the inside (when locked it just un-clicks) our 2 year old kept opening the door to the room and making a break for it. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Really good location for Puffing Billy. A short drive down the road. Staff were nice and helpful. There is a bar / restaurant on-site - with a buffet - lots of choice, quite bland food. The play room is only connected with the buffet restaurant, it's not available for attending anytime. The doors from the motel rooms open easily from the inside (when locked it just un-clicks) our 2 year old kept opening the door to the room and making a break for it. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Stayed at the property as we were working in the area. Good location on Burwood Highway but the rooms were set well back from the road and were not effected by road noise.

Nightcap hotels are my go to place, reasonably priced, beds are great, always have a bistro attached which is usually great food! Great value for money!

Nice and safe security, although the gate was left open one evening. Great location and the adjacent hotel was excellent for food on both evenings. Highly recommend and if all NightCaps are premises like this and the Wollongong one, I know where will stay when next in Australia! Well done Ferntree Gully Motel. Tony S

Everything and everyone very pleasant, totally suited our purpose for visiting Melbourne. Restaurant is excellent, the Ferny Creek Trail a surprise bonus. Found out a nephew from USA stayed there recently and also liked it very much. Hope to return.

internal standard was reasonably good, but,would be a good idea to replace the very flimsy toilet seats with good quality soft close seats. The outside areas were grubby, littered with rubbish, used plastic drink bottles etc, we liked the possums ( a mother and baby on mum's back ) who welcomed us back around 12-30 am. How about an area in the bistro where you can order from a menu, not an ' all you can eat ' buffet.

The room was pretty clean, except we had an infestation of ants, which were quickly exterminated and didnt really cause a problem. The meals and bar staff were brilliant, we couldn't ask for any better. Our biggest disappointment was we were unable to check out early and have the day credited. We attempted to check out with 24 hours notice, however the reception was unmanned and the bar was shut.

A wonderful welcome and intro to the Hotel facilities and layout. The room was wonderful, spacious, comfortable bed, well appointed and modern. Bathroom had a great shower and everything was immaculate. The bistro food was high standard fare with great specials and choice. Was a little more expensive than most I use but worth every penny.

Restaurant was handy for a meal the buffet was good but food could have been a bit warmer, parking was easy and having a gated entry it made us feel very safe as Melbourne doesn’t have a very good reputation. The motel room was very nice and quiet.

Cozy compact room with a no nonsense bathroom thats small basic and warm. Heater is real warm even in the middle of winter. Showers a bit basic and you cant adjust the water stream and its a juggle to get the temp just right with the taps. Pressure also low more like standing a drip stream rather than a real shower. Parking is secure and safe and takes a bit of understanding to operate the automatic gate. Food is expensive in the all you can eat buffet even with the stay in discount, prefer to buy cheaper else where and bring the food to eat in the room. But the main thing is the room is clean and odour free ! Warm and comfortable. Out of 3 cheap hotels/motels Ferntree Gully is the best for me. Will always book the same room when I stay again.
