Wyndham Garden Columbia-Ft Jackson

Just stayed 3 days for our sons basic graduation. I loved everything about this motel. From the comfortable clean rooms to the pool which was a blessing in the south carolina heat to the giant connect 4, chess and cornhole. Hotel staff was very friendly as well. If i am ever out tbat way again will definitely chose to stay there again

Advertised as having a pool and pool is not open.

Parking was horrible

When we arrived the air did not work but they changed the battery and got it working quickly. Did not like the door being outside didn’t know that was what “garden view” meant. The pool did not work. My grandson was disappointed and older teanagers hug out in the garden area until around 3am being loud and then they went onto their room snd continued to be loud.

The room was ok, until showers when the spickot came off of the wall. Neighbors were lound and set off the smoke detectors at midnight. The a storm came and the water leaked in though the outside wall and soaked the floor. I rep I rted the issues to the front desk when we left, and it was like they didnt care. The pool has also not been cleaned in some time. I am not usually a compainer, but thos was bad.

Elevators are very old and slow. Front desk has the longest check-in procedure I've ever seen....always a long line I Prechecked in on this last visit and they made me do the entire thing over again at the deak....you can't win.

The main reason for booking this hotel was that their website shows a restaurant and bar. They even gave a voucher for a free appetizer at check in. Guess what...... no restaurant or bar. The room 101 was spacious but not very clean. The coffee maker had an old capsule left in it. The kitchen faucet needed tightening down. Will definitely not return

Advertised with Bar on Property. Not true. Bar not open yet. This is a renovated old hotel. Pictures of bathroom area on website are not as advertised. It is old; rust on curtain rod, handrail, etc. Bathtub has been reglazed poorly. Also, when entering the lobby from outside you will notice a very strong scent, overpowering and not normal. I wondered if it was to cover up another smell. I will say the staff were very kind. Not a terrible place, but website is misleading.

Staff did not clean the room, had to ask for fresh towels, coffee machine was out of order, the lounge was not open in the evening, pool was closed.

Not worth the money. The first room we stayed in had bugs. We were moved to another room the following day and an exterminator sprayed the room. We still had 2 big roaches in the new room during our stay. They boast that the rooms were newly renovated but only the bathrooms and kitchenette area were touched. The floors where they meet the windows were gross. Paint scuffs and poor lighting too.The floors in the hotel, in general, look like they only get cleaned every few days. The employees were very nice though. And they do charge $100 deposit per stay so if you extend your trip by a day then its another $100. Will not stay here again.

bugs, dirty, stained sheets

Bathroom walls dirty. Air conditioner vents were very dirty in the wall. Smelled bad.

The room we initially got was dirty with ants and cigarette burns on the counter, the ice bin was moldy and the bathroom was dirt and the whole room had a very foul odor!!! There was no bar and restaurant as advertised, the breakfast was mediocre. The staff however was very nice and the front desk staff re roomed us after I showed her pictures of the room we were given. The second room was better and they made sure we had clean towels and toiletries daily.

The initial shock came upon checking in when we realized that it was an extended stay. Once we got to our “presidential suite” we noticed that the the room was a bit lacking in space and functionality and had an odd smell. As we began using the areas of the room we noticed hair and dirt everywhere that should certainly be cleaned like the bathroom, the sink area and the space by the pullout mattress. It's like they just rinse and go. We literally had to purchase cleaning supplies and air freshener because it smelt like urine in the hallway and whatever smell was in the room. We sprayed the shower, sink, tub and part of the floor with bleach spray and scrubbing bubbles. The towel can be seen in one photo (only a small portion of the floor was cleaned). Then it was time for bed, the sound was so loud from the hall and the outside that my son literally wouldn't stop crying. This was by far the worst experience ever.

The lobby and exterior are nice. The room was terrible. Literal holes in the wall in the bathroom. Mold/mildew in the shower. Dust caked onto vents. I don’t think the room has ever been cleaned!!

Lobby looks fantastic. Great coffee option. Rooms need updating. Look dirty. Wasn’t vacuumed before our stay. Someone was smoking on our floor. Rooms had an odor beyond the cigarette smoke in a non smoking hotel.

The staff was fine, very nice and friendly. However, upon checking in, I found out that my door lock face plate had a screw missing, which I reported one of the reading lights by the bed was just hanging there with wire showing. The biggest turnoff was I found several cockroaches running around during my stay. I did check for bedbugs and did not see any.

Room smelled like urine. Black mold on the ceiling, AC grille and tub drain. Paper thin walls let you hear the neighbor’s TV until 2am. Rooms look nothing like the photos. Basically a slightly upgraded version of a no-tell motel. Never again. Total dump.

Here is what I did not like: 1. the door would not open against the carpet in the room, it took muscles to get it open 2. for breakfast they were out of just about everything. For example, made a waffle but there was no butter or syrup. Asked the person in charge and they just said they didn't have any. 3. it was noisy outside the room. 4. the bathroom looked horrible, isn't taken care of and it should be updated. 5. the toilet backed up and they came and gave us a plunger and we had to fix do it ourselves. 6. elevator was slow 7. the wifi was questionable, didn't work half of the time To sum up, this place needs a lot of updates. What I liked: 1. parking was easy and convenient 2. the bed was comfortable

Room was big and spacious, clean, and room service was great. The morning breakfast was so good and hot as well as plentiful. I only wish that breakfast would end at 10am and not 9am. But this was an awesome experience for my family and I.

Room was clean but updates were poor. Water spout in tub was loose and paint was peeling off of the shower walls. Noise echo from lobby was awful…a family came in around midnight and the kids yelling and running around woke us from a sound sleep with the noise.

Would have given 5 stars. The down falls was we had flies in our room and had to kill them. The music outside of the room didn’t turn off til after 9. Couldn’t go to bed early because of hearing it through the glass windows in the room that connected to the lobby area. (It echoed and we could hear people talking in the lobby all night off and on).

Staff was great! Room was clean. It was just small and old.

Internet wasn’t working

It was either hot or freezing in the room. The room was alot smaller than the photos would lead you to believe. Also the breakfast was just blah. Saying all of this it could have been just our room, and we possibly caught the breakfast buffet on a bad day.

Large 2 room suite was spacious. Stocked kitchenette was adequate for cooking a small meal.

We stayed one night. Friendly staff, clean room. Only thing is, you can hear all the other rooms and people in the main area during the night.

The bed was clean and comfortable which is always what Im hoping for. And when we needed towels the service was prompt and friendly. I really didnt enjoy having to walk outside around to the back "alley-like" parking lot to access the door to my room which didn't have a latch lock. It was fairly difficult to fall asleep because I just didn't feel safe in addition to the noise. There was so much noise all night long for both the nights we stayed there. Guys standing outside my door face-timing at 2:30am, dogs howling at 3am, doors slamming and lots of yelling and stomping all night, pretty intense marijuana smell ect. Inside the room, it was clean but the bathroom had no counterspace or towel racks so getting ready was fairly cumbersome. The shower had to shower curtain or rod and the water never actually got hot for the four times I tried to shower over two days. There was an iron but no ironing board and finally, there was an intense dripping coming from the vent in the room that lasted the duration of our stay. So all that being said, the service was excellent. The atmosphere and condition of the space was just lacking a lot based on the price.

Every staff member, from the property manager and front desk team to the housekeeping staff, was absolutely friendly and accommodating to our every request. They genuinely appeared to enjoy taking care of the guests and working collectively for a positive experience.

Front dude had a BAD attitude and rude

My only complaint: They require you to pay a $100 security deposit after you arrive in addition to your total nightly fee. You must use a valid credit or debit card, no prepaid cards. You are supposed to receive it back in 3-5 business days. It was a surprise charge because it is never mentioned before. I feel that this is a very deceptive business practice on their part. You should make it known UPFRONT.

Checking in at this hotel is the longest experience you will ever have checking in. This wasn't an isolated incident as I had to check in several different times. Not uncommon to see a line going back to the entrance doors in the afternooons.

Front desk only had one lady who was doing her best but waited for an hour bc the line was that long. Complained about Expedia still selling rooms when not available. Something stuck on floor and used towel in bathroom. Did not feel safe there at night.

Amazing staff and nice lobby area.

Upon arrival, I encountered an issue with my reservation dates. Although a room wwas subsequently provided, I found it to be unmade with toiletries left on the bathroom counter. I promptly requested a different room. The second room initially appeared satisfactory; however, upon closer inspection, I discovered mold growth in the air conditioner duct. Furthermore, the bathroom door would not close properly as it scraped against the floor. During my attempt to shower, the spigot was remarkably loose and could be pulled from the wall. While the water was hot, the shower head was unadjustable. Later, as I prepared for bed, I noted that despite being in a king-size room, only three pillows were provided, and these were smaller than standard size, resembling decorative pillows. The mattress itself was exceptionally firm, feeling as though I was sleeping directly on springs, which exacerbated a pre-existing back condition, resulting in a restless night. The following morning, after retrieving breakfast, I proceeded to check out. Unfortunately, no staff members were present at the counter for approximately five to ten minutes, preventing me from discussing these issues. There was no bell or other mechanism to summon assistance, only a sign stating "We'll be back." To my further dismay, I discovered this morning that my account has been charged $217 for the room, when the agreed-upon rate was $117. Upon my arrival at the hotel, I was informed of a $100 service charge for potential

Danny and all the staff were the best! Location was central to everything we needed for our stay.

I booked a room for a night just a few days before I was supposed to be in town. I went to check into my room late in the evening, walked in stood at the check out desk for probably 15-20 minutes, after calling multiple times. No answer! A staff member was dead asleep on the couch in the lobby. After multiple calls & shouts he finally woke up. The worker finally came to try a check us into our room. After driving several hours, my “room” that had fully been paid for & having confirmation numbers for, happened to be given away to someone else. & the hotel was “full”. So here I am at midnight losing money on a room that I had already fully paid for not being available for me & my family to stay at. Honestly pretty shiity experience telling my family we have no place to sleep that night because they failed to have a room that we already reserved was “given away” & the worker being absolutely un helpful, should have just let him get his nap in!

Property is convenient to interstate

This is a very scary-looking property. The pictures are misleading. The electricity worked on only half the room, not the bathroom. Parking is in the back away from entrance doors, not well lit. Carpets need cleaning. This was most misleading reservation I ever made on 20yrs of hotels.com use.

Didn’t appear to be safe

It was close to Ft. Jackson which is why I was there.

Nice big hotel. Clean overall. Carpets could be cleaned, had a smell and was stained. Hotel right off the hwy. Close by restaurants and shopping stores. Good location right off two notch road

Room was great and the staff were helpful and efficient. Immediate area surrounding the hotel isn't ideal, but shouldn't be an issue as the hotel is tucked away from the road. Great spot for anyone looking for an affordable stay in the Columbia area!

Staff was warm, welcoming and very accommodating. The lobby was beautiful and plenty of sitting area if you wanted to relax There is also coffee with a variety of creamers that was offered every day in addition to water. The breakfast variety was very good and was different daily with the exception of bagels, toast, waffles, muffins, oatmeal and cereal which was offered daily. The coffee was very good too! The area was always kept clean and staff was always ready to replenish as food ran out. The outside set up was beautiful as well with some outdoor games set up such as beanbag toss, life size chess board with pieces and life size tic tac toe board, with plenty of seating area. The pool area was nice but was a little dirty with some bugs floating around in the pool, other wise it was nice to have the option to swim and soak up some sun. I would definitely stay very again or recommend for family when they

the front desk staff was very unfriendly. no greetings, no eye contact, only answered questions with very breif answers. the room did not have a place in the bathroom to sit any toiletries. the breakfast was HORRIBLE. the 2% milk was sour. the eggs had hair in them. the staff person would not refill the waffle mix as it was out. overall a very NEGATIVE experiece!!!!!

PROS: Great accommodations and location; Less than 1 minute to SC Hwy 20; Spacious; Excellent Staff, Elevators, Quiet even when full, Available computers, Comfortable Pool and lounge area. CONS: Average Breakfast but extremely clean, so clean the staff stepped in from of waiting to continuously ensue the slight spill was attended to. Only one major discouragement: THE COFFEE POT IN OUR ROOM HAS POWER BUT IT WAS BROKEN AND WOULD NOT RELEASE WATER THROUGH THE SYSTEM TO MAKE COFFEE IN THE ROOM
