My one night stay at FE Gisting Guesthouse was lovely! Just up the hill from the city center of Akureyri, it was a five minute walk to many shops, bars, historical/art interest points, and restaurants. On-street parking was easy to find, free, and safe. The home is very sweet and adorable, the office/lobby area beautifully decorated. The bedroom I stayed in was in the front of the house, but I did not encounter much noise. En suite bathroom with shower, comfortable clean linens, a small refrigerator, and a tv were in the room. Coffee and tea provided in the main room. An excellent value overall! Akureyri was a really cool little city, and the proximity, safety, and overall vibe of FE Gisting made it one of my favorite guesthouses in Iceland. (Also there is a public pool across the street, which I sadly did not experience! But next time!!)

This was a great place to sleep after a long day of exploring. We were lucky and got a spot right out front! Parking seemed like a bit of a challenge depending on the time.This was in walking distance to a lot of cute shops. We did not stay for breakfast but the description sounded yummy.

Letto matrimoniale comodo sebbene un po' alto, bagno essenziale ma pulito, con un buon box doccia. Il signore che si occupa della reception e della colazione, è un anziano molto gentile e disponibile. La sera prima ti chiede a che ora vuoi consumare la colazione, che ti prepara lui stesso. Sono disponibili dolci, brioche, poi cibo salato come formaggio, prosciutto cotto, salame, pomodori, cetrioli, succhi di frutta, yoghurt, latte, cereali, oltre a macchina per il caffè, forno a micro onde. Il locale è una coloratissima cucina stile anni'60. L'abitazione è a pochi minuti dal centro di Akureyri. Parcheggio sulla strada, in zona non a pagamento. Molto consigliato

Our room was very spacious and was walkable to shops and restaurants. So long as you don’t mind the walk back up the hill. Only complaint is the water that had the sulfur smell which in turn made the room smell a bit.

Very comfortable bed and plenty of room although bathroom a bit cramped. Nice furnishings, pleasant and helpful manager. The street is a busy one so can be noisy with traffic at peak times morning and evening as property on a hill. Also guest house is noisy as my room was on the ground floor so could hear noise from upstairs and the owners part of the house. Also the room I had was off the lobby so people coming and going made it noisy and no privacy from the street or other guests if the blinds were up. Would suggest putting the type of blinds that can go up from bottom to give privacy in this room as all the others are upstairs.

Old large house about three blocks Above restaurants, so make sure you can walk upgrade, no problem for us. Small room. Gentleman in charge very helpful. Very nice walking town, great botanical garden and old town area. Glad we spent 2 nights here.

Flott beliggenhet. Kun en bratt bakke ned til sentrum. Sjarmerende plass og hyggelig og hjelpsom vert. Alltid kaffe og te i resepsjon. Frokost plassen må oppleves. Et kjøkken i pastellfarger, dekket til to, utrolig koselig. Frokosten inneholdt alt du trenger.

I love the room I stay in! I wish i could have stay for more than one night. The owner was very Friendly and helpful. He even took the time to print out instructions to my car rental agency in Reykjavik!

My one night stay at FE Gisting Guesthouse was lovely! Just up the hill from the city center of Akureyri, it was a five minute walk to many shops, bars, historical/art interest points, and restaurants. On-street parking was easy to find, free, and safe. The home is very sweet and adorable, the office/lobby area beautifully decorated. The bedroom I stayed in was in the front of the house, but I did not encounter much noise. En suite bathroom with shower, comfortable clean linens, a small refrigerator, and a tv were in the room. Coffee and tea provided in the main room. An excellent value overall! Akureyri was a really cool little city, and the proximity, safety, and overall vibe of FE Gisting made it one of my favorite guesthouses in Iceland. (Also there is a public pool across the street, which I sadly did not experience! But next time!!)

Old large house about three blocks Above restaurants, so make sure you can walk upgrade, no problem for us. Small room. Gentleman in charge very helpful. Very nice walking town, great botanical garden and old town area. Glad we spent 2 nights here.

La struttura che abbiamo scelto per il nostro soggiorno di due giorni a ad Akureyri era una grande camera con bagno, posta al pianterreno di una vecchia dimora del '900. Letto matrimoniale comodo sebbene un po' alto, bagno essenziale ma pulito, con un buon box doccia. Il signore che si occupa della reception e della colazione, è un anziano molto gentile e disponibile. La sera prima ti chiede a che ora vuoi consumare la colazione, che ti prepara lui stesso. Sono disponibili dolci, brioche, poi cibo salato come formaggio, prosciutto cotto, salame, pomodori, cetrioli, succhi di frutta, yoghurt, latte, cereali, oltre a macchina per il caffè, forno a micro onde. Il locale è una coloratissima cucina stile anni'60. L'abitazione è a pochi minuti dal centro di Akureyri. Parcheggio sulla strada, in zona non a pagamento. Molto consigliato

The room we had was small and right at the front of the house next to the front door. The only window that could be opened for air circulation was right where people were entering and exiting the property. Free parking at the property was not included despite the Expedia description. It is also referred to as a bed and breakfast, but breakfast is an additional fee we were not able to purchase upon arrival because it needed to be done in advance. The room was clean and well located in the city near the main part.

I basically had a one bedroom. The house and place itself is nice. I didn't explore much of the house, but it was well decorated and quite nice to look at. My roomt was your typical bedroom with a small bathroom (enough room where it works). There was one of those heaters that was useful for drying your clothes. A plus when travelling through Iceland. I had a bike with me and the staff was helpful in finding a safe spot to lock it up. You're in a good spot, close to the downtown shopping and dining area, but far enough where it is quiet at night. So you can still get good sleep.
