Creta House. Pool. Garden

Qua indeling van slaapkamers etc. een fijne woning. De inboedel ( meubels , bedden , matrassen, witgoed) maken een beetje een gedateerde indruk. Fijn zwembad en buitenterras.

The villa was in need of a bit of TLC but overall very pleasant.The location was very good, shops and restaurants in easy walking distance. The pool area was a perfect size with plenty of lounger's and chairs but the steps up to the villa from the pool were very steep and difficult of us older ones. The pool itself was the big let down, it went very dirty and green after the first few days, we had all been very careful about showering before entering and disagreed with Karen as to the cause. We examined the filter and felt that it was in need of a new system. Also the lights stopped working after One day, which meant we were hardly able to use it once it went dark. Perhaps it should be maintained a little more than once a week and a small extra cost could be added to the overall price of the rental. It was extremely hot whilst we were there and the air con was excellent. As I said, overall the villa was smashing and we had a great time.

On arriving at the villa, we were pleasantly suprised although it was a little smaller than we expected. Once we were all settled and started to walk around the property we noticed lots of broken and neglected areas. Screwdrivers, packet of cigarettes, and maintanace items were left on the floor in the basement room were children in our party were sleeping. All the bikes were broken and unusable. My son bought inner tubes for one and repaired it himself. All the games were missing parts. There were 7 games consoles and only 2 games for 1 one them. All the consoles were plugged into one extension lead plus the TV, which looked like an electrical hazard. Air conditioning unit in lounge leaked water, this was running down the back of the unit over electric sockets. Air conditioning unit in one of the bedrooms didn't work. Fan light in downstairs bedroom sparked when turned on so did not use. Outside light was broken. Pool became dirty after 5 days of use, this needed maintanace to keep clean as there were 9 people using it, so we did not use on the last day. Overall the villa would benefit from a weeks worth of maintanace and a good clean. Also high chair hire for a week is an extra 25 euros for a basic chair that also could do with a proper clean. We were only told about this fee on arrival.

the house was not clean and the cups and dishes were dirty. The first thing I did was wash all the glasses, plates and cups. there was poor cleaning in the pool, so it had to close for 2-3 days. some equipment was broken, including parasols which are quite important when it's hot and sunny. the basement was damp and didn't smell good. one air conditioner didn't work, and one was very bad

I had a great time visiting Karen’s Villa Cross. With a group of 11 there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The location is amazing! There is a basketball court right outside of the backyard and within two minutes of walking distance there a quite a lot of shops and restaurants. I‘m sure you will be able to find almost anything that you could need there. Karen was a great host. When small issues came up she took care of them immediately. With a PlayStation, a ping pong table, bikes, an amazing pool and many more things the house offers many things to have a good time and stay busy. The house itself is nicely equipped with everything that you could need. We really enjoyed our stay.
