I stayed in a family room with suite room (204). The lay out was fab as had a sectioned off area where the kids slept. The rooms were clean, modern with tv, fridge, kettle, hairdreyer, gorgeous bathroom. It had lovely windows over looking some of the park which my child loved. It’s situated 2 min walk from Park and Hex complex has shops and restaurants and a mini golf. I didn’t use it but there is a kitchen on the floor we stayed on with microwave, fridge and other amenities , fab idea. We visited the Wildlife park next day which was just a beautiful place to walk around and the animals had so much space their enclosures were huge. It had play areas too. We spent just over 5 hours there. All enjoyed the stay.

Ample parking available with EV charge points, 7.4Kw, fair price for overnight charging. I would not normally stay in this kind of hotel when traveling on business, however I was VERY surprised, Check-in was quick & easy, reception staff welcoming room was clean & tidy while overlooking the wolf enclosure nice touch, room had a small fridge to keep drinks etc. I checked in late & only just made it to the restaurant before last food orders, the staff were extremely helpful & accommodating due to my lateness, food was of a high standard & well priced. I would stay again.

We had a room with a balcony and it was roomy and modern. We were really impressed with how family friendly this hotel is, on each floor of the hotel there is a landing with a kitchen that has a microwave, bottle warmer, sink and ice dispenser. The rooms were really clean and the restaurants were lovely. Would definitely return!

Brilliant stay at the HEX. Perfect location for the wild life park, onsite just 1 min from the entrance. Car park was a 2-3 min walk too. Really convenient for the restaurant, bar, cafe and shops. So much to do. Really new resort and really well thought out. Everything seemed so clean and new. We went with friends and it was so practical for meeting up after freshening up between park and evening. Great food at the immersive restaurant. Very good cocktails also! Try and you’ll like. Bar staff very friendly and asked for feedback on their cocktails. Felt they have pride in their work and their creative special cocktails. Overall excellent stay and highly recommended. Will be going back in the summer as this was an end October trip and the summer should make it even better.

Very friendly, great amenities like ice machine, vending machine and basic kitchen area with microwave. Lovely spacious room, AirCon was sooooo welcome after a hot day in the park. Rainfall shower was amazing. We will be back 🤗🤗🤗

Fantastic trip with the family. We had booked a room with resort view and my 2 year old absolutely loved watching the animals from the bedroom windows. Super clean with everything thing that you’d need for a stay. There is a communal watering hole on each floor with vending machines, microwave, bottle warmers and an ice machine. Absolutely could t fault a thing

Brilliant place to stay. Plenty of parking and for us in particular the electric car charging facilities were very useful. We arrived late and the reception is seperate from the hotel itself but the staff made us welcome and directed to our room. The facilities are faultless. We stayed overlooking the zoo and watched the wolves in the morning for at least 30mins before breakfast. Dining is seperate but again very easy use. Definitely use this location again. Ours was a leisure visit but there were many business people use it too. Recommended.

Our stay was lovely the staff was so attentive our kettle wasn’t working in our room so we called reception and they fixed it immediately, there was a few different places where there was dust and the shower floor and water marks on the shower door but overall very clean

The hotel room was very good amlnd the bed was comfortable. The room was a bit smaller than seemed on the pictures. Towels and bed sheet nice and clean every day but the floor wasn't spotless as our white socks turned brown after a few min walking.

The stay at this hotel was lovely. The room was beautiful and comfy and had a view of the wolves from the window. The cleaniness of the room was average, the shelves in the bathroom had alot of dust on them and under the bed had alot of dust but overall, the room was lovely. There was an issue with the tele in room and within 10 minutes of reporting the issue, there were 2 guys who came to fix it. A great stay.

We paid for the breakfast it was not free as this review might suggest. Well worth the money, the whole place was spotlessly clean, beautifully presented. The staff at the restaurant/hotel/ wildlife park were polite, helpful nothing was too much trouble. The room was smallish but so very clean and bathroom was lovely and again very clean, plenty of tea coffee etc in rooms. I loved every minute of my stay.

The hotel is nice, love the family rooms with the bunk beds. However the reception is in a different building not ideal when the key stops working etc. The TV in the room wouldn’t work, bit frustrating when you’re travelling with kids. Also the upgraded rooms only just have a view of the park and the windows are small and do not open at all so you can’t hear anything! Could do with a hotel guests lounge or patio area with a park view. Guest services left us a nice touch as it was mine and my sons birthday, which was very thoughtful and much appreciated.

Check-in is chaos, with people queuing in the reception area, and some people's rooms still not ready at stated check-in times. Suite rooms dont quite overlook the animals as billed, but you do get a cracking view of the park. The suites are basically furnished, but spacious and have pretty much everything you need for a comfortable stay. Bathroom area is huge and shower is nice and powerful. You hear quite a lot of noise from other rooms - children running up and down corridors - but then it's obviously more set up for families than couples.

Another fantastic stay. Very comfortable bed, love the decor. Extremely friendly staff throughout. Buffet breakfast is excellent. It’s incredible value for money when booked in advance. Thank you for our anniversary card and gift in the room, such a nice gesture.

Came to celebrate my partners birthday and the staff went absolutely above and beyond to make it extra special, it really put a smile on our faces and made the trip so much more memorable (in the best way!), we are so beyond grateful.

Room was immaculate, amazing view of the zoo. Fully stocked with tea coffee and hot chocolate and jammy dodgers were a win for my son. Staff are so friendly and helpful… I put a note in my booking comments that this was a surprise from Santa brought by the elf, asked if a note could be put in the room ( did not think it would be read) There was a card from Santa on the bed when we got in the room…Christmas magic

We had booked a room that was described as having a view to see the animals but we were put on the opposite side of the hotel. My wife checked in by herself with two kids, whilst I was out(watching the football) the staff watched her struggle with 2 cases a pram and two children. They could have offered to take the bags as there was a gent working there

Second stay here and we will be back again (but without breakfast!) lol… i only give 4 stars as both times we have stayed the cooked breakfast has been stone cold. We weren't late down 8am (served 7-10.30) The first time we chalked it up to how busy it was but this time it wasnt and it was still stone cold. And dont use the vending machine it charged me for 2 extra items i didn't have 🙈 (joys of technology) but I cant fault the lovely staff, the room, cleanliness of the hotel or anything else at all its perfect and we will definitely be back a third time before the year ends :)

Brilliant place to stay. Plenty of parking and for us in particular the electric car charging facilities were very useful. We arrived late and the reception is seperate from the hotel itself but the staff made us welcome and directed to our room. The facilities are faultless. We stayed overlooking the zoo and watched the wolves in the morning for at least 30mins before breakfast. Dining is seperate but again very easy use. Definitely use this location again. Ours was a leisure visit but there were many business people use it too. Recommended.

I have stayed at this hotel quite. Few times recently. It blows hot and cold. Expect to wait half an hour after being seated for someone to tske your drink Oder. They Have staff but clearly either not enough or they have no idea how to handle things. This isn’t the first time this has happened and I probably won’t stay here again as it’s a joke

Really nice rooms, but no chair/ desk for working. Comfortable beds and very nice toiletries. It is a fair walk from the car park to the hotel reception and another good walk to the hotel entrance. If it is raining you will get quite wet.

I stopped here very late for an overnight whilst on a long business trip and booked very last minute. The entrance is through a secure barrier and the parking was easy to navigate to. The greeting I received from the front desk was very welcoming and friendly and the location was amazing. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. I travel a lot and can honestly say its the best in room tea and coffee I have had for a long time. I left before breakfast was served but will definitely be staying here again as I'm sure it will also be amazing.

A superb weekend stay. The hotel is perfect it is clean, smart and the staff are very attentive. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice and being a buffet there was no excuse not to have enough of everything. Obviously being next to the Yorkshire Wild Life Park means it’s a bit isolated but that is expected. The one slightly negative is the parkside view. Yes it is a parkside view rather than looking at the car park but don’t expect to see very much in terms of animals.

Its then another walk to the actual hotel (again, with bags, kids and rain not the easiest) The room was small but very clean, modern and had good amenities. The bunk beds were interesting and not that suitable for young children, but all beds were comfortable. Would rather the option for single beds rather than bunks, but we would stay again.

Booked the Hex Hotel as a stop over before head further south. Found the place easily and parked just a short walk to the reception which is seperate form the main hotel. Check in was easy and quick then another short walk through a variety of shops to the hotel. room was clean and comfortable a bit cold when i first went in but soon warmed up using the temp control. Ate in the wilds café bistro. enjoying a starter of warm goats cheese salad followed by beef burger with bacon and cheese. Both were delicious. bar staff were friendly and welcoming . When i got back to my room was unable to work the TV but was not too fussed so never bothered to get any assistance. . sleep well and breakfast in the Bistro was a great start to the day good selection on offer. hoping to stay next time i am in the area. hope to get a room that looks on to the park as i was facing he shops and big wheel :-)

Hotel was clean & comfortable but couldnt open windows, & would be nice to have a chair instead of a beanbag. Car park eas too far away especially disabled one which was further away which makes it difficult with luggage & would have not been good in bad weather

Although choosing an accessible room, access to the hotel building is only accessible from the distant disabled or residents car park. One of our party has mobility issues, and the distance was too far to walk. Luckily we could borrow a wheelchair.

Loved our stay at this great hotel. OK maybe only of interest if you are visiting the Wildlife Park, but for that it's hard to beat. Checked the reviews and the only thing that kept coming up was the loudness of the extractor fan - we thought 'really'! But they are very loud! Staff were great, air-con silent and effective. Food a little limited, but clearly aimed at families and pretty much as we expected

Bistro was the only restaurant open after 6pm the evening service was very sliw,im 1person i wrnt in at 6pm left at 7.20pm asked twice for my desert, was told there busy,they were the only restaurant open so of course they were busy and being ignored because your a single person is no excuse i had to get the manager over very poor

Booked this hotel based on the photos and the location as were going to the zoo. The lead photo on the comparison site suggests that the hotel has a jungle feel to it to make it feel unique and worth paying the considerable additional cost to nearby alternatives. Don't be fooled by the photos, the jungle feel is in the restaurant which is only available if you book in for a meal. Other than that, as clean and tidy as the hotel is, its just a normal hotel and if there wasnt the occasional image of an animal in the entrance or by the lifts, you would think it was a a normal hotel. Not sure if it's the hotels fault or the websites for misleading everyone with the photo but this was very disappointing and spoilt the occasion.

Definitely coming back to stay at the Hex again! Loved it! Stayed 5 nights over my sons 2nd anniversary and it was so calm and I had no issues at all. Would definitely recommend

We had a great stay overall. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded from a twin room to a family room, which gave us plenty of extra space and was much appreciated. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The room was modern, tidy, and comfortable, with everything we needed for our stay. The only small criticism is that the room could have been a little cleaner, as there were a few cobwebs around the windows. It wasn't a major issue and didn't affect our stay, but it's something that could easily be improved. Overall, we had a positive experience and would happily stay here again.
