Our keys were in the mail box outside so did not really have to check in. Property is very convenient to Hunter mountain. Plenty of parking outside. Our room was right in front of stairs, easy access on cold night. it’s a decent property nothing fancy for the amount I spent. The location probably makes it worth it. Rooms and bed was clean, and cozy.There are plenty of options for meals that are close by walkable or 3-5 mins drive. I would recommend this and return here for few days of skiing.

It snowed a lot the day we checked in. When we returned to the hotel, the snow was already plowed from the parking lot. There entrance and stairs were also cleared. It continued to snow. The parking lot and stairs were still cleared the next morning.

Good place for traveling construction workers. Quick ride to tops, was offered to use there BBQ grill and very nice owners. Will stay again when working in area.

Exceeded our motel stay expectations by much! Super clean and large rooms for a half a price of the hotel experience. Sizable fridge and a microwave were a plus. Outdoor patio tables and chairs right on a porch for every room made an evening of cards game tons of fun. Brightly illuminated with ginormous parking area and an acre large loan.

This place is, in the best possible way, a blast from the past! A nice, quaint roadside motel with a mountain vibe! Great views of the Catskills from the small hill where there’s a fire pit and Adirondack chairs for relaxation and lounging. Re-read Rip Van Winkle after a fantastic dinner at Deer Mountain Inn as it got dark looking upon the mountains where the story took place. Picturesque and perfect! Had the entire motel to myself and it was so nice, quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Wonderful experience!

The property is rather old and tired. Asked for a hair dryer and it was never delivered. The rooms are clean and neat but the outside walk way/patio area had loose tiles and cement stairs were cracking. A true hazard.

Unexpectedly wonderful hotel in northern Catskills. Owner was very friendly at check in, gave me an upgrade. Room was large, clean, renovated bathroom, nice toiletries, mini-frog with working freezer. Attractive grounds with lots of Adirondack chairs and hammocks overlooking a beautiful Mountain View. Walking g distance from eateries. Recommend without reservation

It is a convenient very basic place to sleep when skiing at Hunter, perfect location and we didn’t need more than that. However the smell of the cleaning chemicals in the room was too strong on arrival and at night, not the smell you expect on a cozy winter evening.

For the price and proximity to Hunter Mountain, the SunView motel was a good option. It felt clean and safe. The biggest downfall was that it was very noisy and loud being on the first floor. You could hear every car that drove past and every movement from the guest in the rooms above.

The Sunview motel is overall a pretty good hotel. The room was cozy, and the stay would have been above average except for the window situation. The front window by the door had very bright lights on directly outside of it all night, and the blinds (fully closed) did not effectively block out the light. Waking up at 2am looked like it was sunrise in the room. My husband and I had to sleep in the two separate beds and build pillow blockers to sleep behind so it wasn’t so bright. I would recommend the motel buy blackout curtains for the rooms if they’d like to keep the outdoor lighting so bright. One full length for the window without the AC, and one half length for above the AC unit.

Great spot for nearby hiking, food and a short walk to the cute little town of Tannersville. I’ve stayed here a few times now and the rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. Only complaint is way too much lighting outside the rooms.

The room was clean but be warned if you go in the winter it’s cold in the room, due to the fact there’s window air conditioners installed and no insulation around them. Pro tip take a towel and pack it around the unit the best you can, and put a blanket over the window because their floor lights stay on all night. The walls are super thin so you’ll hear everything, but for the price and location to the mountain to ski it was fine for 1 night. If you’re looking for a place longer than that then I’d look around more.

Our key was left in a mailbox to access our room. When checking out, we were left with no alternative but to leave the key in the same place. They were not open when I arrived at 6:30. No one answered the phone and there was nothing indicating that after 6pm they were not staffed. I was left scrambling for a hotel room for the night.

Arrived at 6.30pm with a reservation to find the office closed. No note, no guidance. Called the hotel # and got voicemail. Called again 15 mins later and was told my key was in the mailbox. Duh! Next morning, left at 8.00am and the office was still closed. Left my key and hoped for the best. All that said, this is an OK motel, close to town but quiet. It’s clean but needs some TLC. Bathroom smelt funky and the shower was a feeble dribble.

For a midweek skiing stay there was no staff present at the office- which was never open. Key was in mailbox, turned it in to a staff member in the parking before I left. OK, but strange. The positive is that I needed to cut my trip short and was refunded the last night if my booked stay.

Clean and updated rooms, nothing super sophisticated but nice. Staff was nice and check-in was convenient, but the office was almost always closed and it was impossible to get ahold of staff when needed.

This is a very well-kept motel & property. The Manager was very accommodating, useful, and friendly. Everything worked well, and it was a real pleasure to have visited. My wife & I will be back again. It was centrally located to the sights in the area, Kaaterskill Falls, North-South Lake and dining choices.

Perfect place to stay 10 minutes from Hunter Mountain. Dinning options very close. Town of Tannersville is walking distance from the hotel. If your looking for clean basic rooms with nobody to bother you and free parking definitely stay here. If your expecting a continental breakfast and hot towel to be delivered, this is not the place your looking for. Ski bum"s welcome....

Our keys were in the mail box outside so did not really have to check in. Property is very convenient to Hunter mountain. Plenty of parking outside. Our room was right in front of stairs, easy access on cold night. it’s a decent property nothing fancy for the amount I spent. The location probably makes it worth it. Rooms and bed was clean, and cozy.There are plenty of options for meals that are close by walkable or 3-5 mins drive. I would recommend this and return here for few days of skiing.

Nice motel in a great location. Within walking distance of the town of Tannersville where you can find shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. Across the street from one of the best restaurants in the Catskills: Jessie's Harvest House. Staff at motel are very friendly and accommodating.

Perfect place to stay 10 minutes from Hunter Mountain. Dinning options very close. Town of Tannersville is walking distance from the hotel. If your looking for clean basic rooms with nobody to bother you and free parking definitely stay here. If your expecting a continental breakfast and hot towel to be delivered, this is not the place your looking for. Ski bum"s welcome....

Great spot for nearby hiking, food and a short walk to the cute little town of Tannersville. I’ve stayed here a few times now and the rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. Only complaint is way too much lighting outside the rooms.

Unexpectedly wonderful hotel in northern Catskills. Owner was very friendly at check in, gave me an upgrade. Room was large, clean, renovated bathroom, nice toiletries, mini-frog with working freezer. Attractive grounds with lots of Adirondack chairs and hammocks overlooking a beautiful Mountain View. Walking g distance from eateries. Recommend without reservation

If you need a clean, comfortable place that’s near restaurants, Sun View Motel is the place. If you want super easy check in and check out, Sun View Motel is your place. It was perfect for us. We’ll definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at The Sun View Motel. It is in the wonderful town of Tannersville. It is very close to Hunter Mountain so it was convenient for us for we were on a skiing vacation there. Lily the woman who runs The Sun View was so sweet and kind to us. We got extra towels right away and had everything we needed. The only thing was that there were lights outside our window. We used our clothing to cover up the blinds and it worked well. The beds were very comfortable and there is a great coffee house five minutes down the road for a delicious breakfast. And we had dinner right across the street at a fabulous restaurant called Jessies. I would stay there again!

There was nobody in the office on Saturday at 5 p.m. We had to pick our key from a box, and we never saw a single employee during our entire stay. No phone numbers were provided for calling the manager or housekeeping - like in most hotels we had stayed at before - and no other information was given either either. Our room had the basic amenities, but there was no hairdryer, no luggage racks and no chair for a second person. Apparently there is also no insulation to dampen the noise in the building. Right above our room #18 there was apparently a party going on with kids running around and screaming and adults talking loudly until after midnight. We hardly got any sleep before the traffic started at around 6 a.m. This was one of the worse nights in my life, and I would never, ever return to your hotel again.

Clean rooms & gorgeous views! The bathroom was large, and the beds & floors were very clean & well-maintained. Each room had an outdoor table & 2 chairs provided to sit at to enjoy the mountain views. Plus, there was a large side yard on the property with plenty of room for anyone to enjoy it. True to its name, the Sunview has areas where both the sunrise & sunset can be seen (the sunset view is especially stunning).

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. There is no one in the office after 6pm but they are available if you call the main number. After hours, keys are left in a metal box that anyone can access. I would have given 5* but the locks on the door prevent that. There is only one single doorknob lock. That's it. No deadbolt, no inside latch, nothing. And you can't test to make sure the door is locked because each time you do, it opens the door. As a solo traveler, that was disconcerting. Everything was fine, but what if it hadn't been?
