Basecamp Suites Banff

Great spot and we really enjoyed our stay. Room/suite was excellent. Beds/bedding very comfortable and high quality. Check in process was very easy and we like that it was all online. Would like to see higher quality coffee and better instructions about parking. The parking garage has low clearance (didn't work for our vehicle) and we had to find a street spot. We were not expecting to have to pay for parking. Loved the hot tub!

We enjoyed the location in downtown Banff, close to shops, a market, and public transit stops. Parking was $35 a day, which was pricey and difficult to park a large SUV. We also enjoyed the kitchen and space with the living room and table.

We had a nice stay at the Basecamp Suites and overall this seemed a pretty good choice for Banff. We had a 2 bedroom room for a couple +1. The rooms and bathrooms were a little small but the apartment was otherwise well equipped and everything was in working order. Great central location. The price seemed extremely high, but this seems pretty par for the course when it comes to Banff, especially during peak periods. Also, the parking was hugely expensive; again seems par for the course in Banff. There is a ramp attached to the hotel, but it is not run by them and doesn't allow multiple entry so if you can avoid having to park here do so..

The location was the best. Next door to groceries and a liquor store. Next to the grocery store is the bus stop for the Roam bus that takes you all over Banff. Restaurants all in a 5 minute walk too, yet because Basecamp is around the corner from the restaurants it is nice and quiet. The rooftop hot tub was amazing also.

Great place for large group! Loved how close it was and easy to park! Beautiful hot tub area and easy access for all guests! Would come back again!

Parking was an issue for us. The rate for a 24 hour period was ok, however there was no in and out privileges which made it overly expensive if you wanted to go out several times a day. Hotel needs to make arrangements with parkade owners for hotel guests to have in and out privileges. Also no handicap parking near hotel entrances from the parkade. The accommodations themselves were excellent.

Great stay! The location was very convenient with everything within walking distance. The bed was really comfortable, and we enjoyed the nice view from the window. The only downside was that the hot tub was under maintenance during our visit, but aside from that, everything was excellent.

We did not use the hot tub. Recommend a change room/ bathroom on the roof top hot tub. Would be nice to include robes for hot tub use- distance from room to rooftop + stairs + crossing rooftop- mobility barrier

Had an awesome 4-night stay at the superior 2 bedroom apartment for me and my sister. Affordable, clean, close to everything- grocery, cafes, shops, Roam bus stop, etc. But best of all, the mountain view from both our bedroom windows was SO BEAUTIFUL. The parking garage attached to Basecamp is very convenient. You can park on the floor you're staying on and enter the door from there. The only downside is the parking is $35 daily or $8/hr through a third party. (Maybe in the future, Basecamp could make some sort of deal with parking garage owner for its guests) But besides that, no complaints. Would stay here again.

This was a great place to stay in downtown Banff, we could walk everywhere. Rooms were clean, comfortable and staff was friendly and helpful!

Great location. Overall good but the property floors were dirty. My socks turned black day 1 so I mopped the entire unit. I also thought the bedding could have been cleaner.

Awesome location, the Units are exceptionally clean and YES we will stay here again the next time our travels take us to Banff.

I like the idea of having two rooms and an apt feel. It was very cozy and comfy. The only thing I wanted to report was that when we opened the sofa bed we discovered a whole bunch of hair on the bed and closed it right away.. I told them on the way out.. but was pretty grossed out with the hair.

Could be a bit more cleaned. No A/C is definitely not comfortable during summer time

Room is tidy and spacious. But the shower curtain smells off. It should have been replaced or washed atleast. Hot tub is not available when we went upstairs at around 10 in the morning.

Location was great and it was spacious. Cleaniness especially bed sheets require more attention. Over priced.

The unit itself was clean but surrounding halls and entrance had stains. They were hot and smelled of smoke and just overall the building is dirty feeling.

This is one of the few self catering properties in Banff and therefore you pay a high premium for it. It promised a lot but unfortunately we were disappointed with the reality. The apartments are attached to a multi-storey car park - separated only by a narrow corridor that you walk along to get to your room. It feels as if you are staying in the car park. That said, there is no allocated parking for the apartments. You have to pay the hourly or daily rate to park. The bedroom was absolutely tiny. We could barely walk around the bed because of the roof lie-in. There were hooks on the wall to hang up clothes - no wardrobe and no drawers to store clothes. Certainly no space to open or store a suitcase so everything had to be kept in the living area. We planned to have friends over for dinner but the dining table was tiny - barely big enough for 2 to have breakfast on, plus having all our luggage, walking gear etc in the living area really wasn’t conducive to entertaining. The apartment fittings and finishing looked ok from a distance but close up, the quality is clearly lacking. The hot tub is on the roof of the multi-story car park with car parking spaces all around the tub. There was red mould in the hem of the shower curtain. The area around the street door was very dirty. This property is way over-priced for what it is.

Clean, convenient check-in and a great location. A bit short on storage space if you have gear with you for adventuring in the area.

This place is all about location, which was fantastic steps away from shops and restaurants. Parking in Banff is an issue but there was always space in the car park next door for $30 a day. Downside was size. Bedrooms were small just a (very comfortable but small double) bed and hooks on the wall. There were no wardrobes or clothes storage at all. Only mirror in the apartment above the bathroom sink. Kitchen was well equipped. Overall good value for the location.

This is a tiny 1 bedroom suite with a full kitchen. There were no storage of clothes at all: no dresser or a closet, just a few hooks with hangers. So most of the clothes has to stay in a suitcase. The property is somewhat dated, the doors squeak loudly. For some reason they restrict how wide windows can be opened. I would not stay there again.

It was great. Tight quarters but had everything you needed. It was new and very very clean and a great location.

Entrance is on a side street, off the busy main. View from our 2 bd apt was amazing. We were on the go most of the day- happy to come home to couch and table to plan next adventure.

This property was clean, efficient and in a VERY good location. The unit is VERY small! There is NO closet, no room for a suitcase in the bedroom and only ONE drawer in the entire apartment. Also, the parking is VERY convenient BUT there is a $30 per day charge. Just know in advance what you are getting.

Pros: good quality location easily walkable to all downtown sites. Situated on a relatively quiet side street. Reasonable sized accommodation in our two bed suite. Cons: the suite contained no wardrobes or space for clothes to be unpacked other that a few rows of clothes hooks. Didn’t work well for a five night stay for a family of four. The parking is linked to the shopping centre on the same block and is very tight to navigate for Canadian sized cars. Costs CAD 35/day so not cheap. I had a slight problem on checking in where, unknown to me, the hotel had already charged my card 3 days beforehand, despite me having booked as ‘pay at property’ in Expedia. This led to me having to pay additional credit card fees unnecessarily

It was good, clean and good size for 2 families. The parking situation was not explained ahead of the time, plus the front desk attendant was rude and discriminative, so that's why I rated the communication low. Otherwise the place is good.

Our stay at Basecamp Suites was excellent, clean and well equipped. Good location near restaurants and bars. Staff were excellent - Ash, Fiona, Aaron and Tyra are an asset to your business could not have been more helpful.

Excellent front desk staff! The place was in top shape, and perfectly clean. Make sure to read all the info they email / text you before arrival. It has all the information you need to get in after hours.

Banff is a beautiful town with lots of fun things to see and do. The upside of this property is that it is in a great location. The pictures of the property are accurate although some wear and tear existed where we stayed. I could not park in the parking garage because the clearance is 1.8 meters (6 feet), so I parked in the public street parking. This was inconvenient for carrying my belongings, but ended up being cheaper than the parking garage's daily rate. The building is an odd design. There are heavy doors that require access codes, small entry spaces, and the stairways are for emergency only, so you must use the elevator. No vending machines or typical hotel features. The people at the check-in counter don't really want to be bothered. There are a lot of qr codes. Read what they send you and leave them alone. Everything is very transactional. They will give you exactly the minimum of what is expected, no more and no less. They will want you to check out before 11 am, but you will absolutely not get into your room one minute before 4 pm. The room cleanliness is passable, but not immaculate. You won't get housekeeping every day, so expect to clean up a bit on your own.There is a qr code where you can leave a tip for this service. The one amenity that exists is the town of Banff itself. In the end, this is an expensive place to stay because it is in Banff. Don't expect luxury. It's not the worst, but it's not a great value.

We just returned home after a week in beautiful Banff. Basecamp Suites was the perfect location for our family of eight. In a matter of minutes we could be at great shopping, wonderful restaurants or a grocery store. In fact, my family told me daily what a great job I had done in choosing this hotel. We had two of the 2 bedroom 2 bath suites which were very spacious and supplied everything we needed. The Mountain views from the bedroom and living room windows were beautiful and the hot tub on the roof of the building was such fun! You had a 360 degree view of all the surrounding mountain ranges. We were there this past week and had snow the first several days which stayed around all week. Absolutely beautiful! We felt like we were living in a Hallmark movie! As far as hiking and points of interest, everything was fairly close by and easy to get to except for driving the Icefield Parkway to the glacier and on to Jasper. Last of all, I would like to mention how nice the staff were and that you feel very safe on this property. There are multiple times you have to use different security codes to get to your room. If ever in Banff again, we would certainly love to stay here.

Quiet location ,close to central Banff

The location is fantastic! We could walk anywhere in downtown Banff quickly. Grocery is right next door. We appreciated the fully equipped kitchen so we could prepare our own breakfast and lunch. The suite was clean and modern. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone!

The location of the property is fantastic. Easy walk to the entire downtown area. Two coffee shops with breakfast items, a grocery store and a liquor store within a 2 minute walk. Also, easy to leave in your vehicle and head to Sunshine or Norquay. The pictures of the room are a little deceiving. They are accurate, but taken in a way to make the rooms look bigger than they are. There are no closets and it feels more like a hotel room than your typical two bedroom VRBO. It had some dishes and cooking pans, etc., but you shouldn't plan on making complex meals. They do supply coffee filters, coffee, tea, salt, pepper and an oil (not sure what kind). The parking garage next door was convenient, but it is $30 per day and only allows one entry/exit. You cannot leave and come back multiple times per day without paying the hourly rate. Their system was broken 5 out of the 7 days. We were told there was free parking at the train station but we never used it. Overall, the place is clean, well maintained, with relatively new furnishings, etc. I would stay there again if we returned to Banff.
