The property was really beautiful, we were able to enjoy a spa suite and that was nice to have. Before hand I had let the property know I was celebrating my bday and I was disappointed they didn’t do anything to acknowledge that. Check in was ok they welcomed you with a drink and a towel but room was t ready until exactly at 4 which kind of sucked, also the rooftop was booked for a private event that was one of the reason we booked the hotel for that amenity so it sucjes we weren’t able to experience that part of it but the restauaraunt was outstanding, enjoyed the food and drinks. All the staff we came across were very friendly and accompanying.

Would give it a 5, it this hotel has no assigned parking, if you find parking in the street then that’s that, if not, you have to park and walk however far you do. Minor thing, but a pillow on Villa 4 where I stayed was ripped … and there was no shampoo on the container :(

Really cute and charming hotel! Parking is lacking, AC doesn’t work great (maybe bc it’s summer so it’s hot) but the villa didn’t cool off very well, and the pool area is very lacking in pool loungers. Sat night there literally tent any for my bf and I so we couldn’t play by the pool! Overall good location tho and cute spaces/villas.

This place is absolutely awesome overall, it isn't cheap but the size of the villas along with the fact some come with private patios and hottubs or outdoor bathrtubs makes it overall worth it. Now for the negatives, for a property as pricey as this one there were a lot of little things you'd think would be taken care of, there was some water damage to the trim on either side of the shower that was kinda unsightly, the hot water didn't work at all on one of the lav faucets, the sprayer for the kitchen sink didn't work at all and was unusable, some of the tableware was dirty still and the kitchen table was still sticky and looked like it hadn't been wiped down. Would I stay here again absolutely in a heartbeat..if they fixed some of these other issues it would be 5 stars no doubt.

Beautiful property and nice villa. Prior Kirkland ownership reviews raved about the place, breakfast and the service and comparatively it seems less than before. Found the staff very friendly and helpful, some fixes needed in the units, sinks not draining, tv not working well, furnishings, while lovely could use a refresh.

the hotel was quiet, romantic, and the little private walled courtyard with outdooor tub and fire pit was really nice. premium furniture, most comfortable bed! great linens, a really large shower. walking distance from the main street fir shopping and food. 4-10 minute drive from multiple beautiful hikes. office staff was very friendly!

This place is beautiful, very well done, with great service. Only complain was the AC system in our room, had the wrong size air filer so when the AC turned off, the filter fell down a few inches and made a loud noise. Didn't get a lot of sleep as I am a light sleeper.

It’s a beautiful property with a pretty good restaurant. Enjoyed the villa very much except for two things. The mattress was uncomfortably hard and the pillows were terrible. The television is too small and it didn’t work well. Hard time changing channels. The WiFi was terrible, absolutely didn’t work. Did not get a good nights sleep. Everything else was exceptional.

This small boutique hotel packs a big punch. The room 15 was excellent and well equipped. The bed comfy and the whole area, sitting room, garden terrace and hot tub felt very well designed and a lot for the money. The restaurant was excellent and the waiting staff were terrific and very helpful.overall we had a romantic and fun stay. I would recommend and stay again.

This hotel used to be really nice, not sure what happened. It seems to be grossly mismanaged and neglected in a sense of room condition, not existing service to poor food quality and constant mistakes with entry orders. We had planned a romantic stay with my wife that turned into a dreadful experience that we couldn’t wait to be over. Glad we didn’t book for more nights and was able to switch hotels. This used to be one of our favorite boutique hotels in the area. What a shame, we’re bummed :(

For the price the service was below average. They had minimal staff, the restaurant and bar didn’t have a lot of stuff that’s on their menu especially with drinks we would order a drink and on their menu and they didn’t have the ingredients to make it we ordered 4 different drinks they couldn’t even make. The house keeping was kinda minimal, the room had a wine fridge instead of a regular fridge.
For the price the service was below average. Love coming to La Serena. This our third time. I feel like the staff was a little less friendly this last stay. The facility never disappoints. The restaurant was closed for a plumbing issue for the entire day and only limited beverages were available at the pool. For what you pay per evening, you would think they would have offered something to make up for the inconvenience. It was 105 each day we were there and stayed 3 days. Overall it is a great place to stay. Very intimate and clean facility.

This was our second stay, be we will not stay here again. The hotel is nice and the pool and restaurant service is very good, but our experience was ruined by a rude and not transparent front desk. We booked through Hotels.com and La Serena was vocally unhappy about it. They would be an obscure boutique without 3rd Party exposure. Upon departure, the clerks refused to provide a complete receipt of charges and told me to ask Hotels.com for a complete billing! Hotels.com didn't charge us anything . Even after repeated calls by me and Hotels.com, La Serena still has not refunded the difference between the quoted and actual charges. Beware!

the hotel was quiet, romantic, and the little private walled courtyard with outdooor tub and fire pit was really nice. premium furniture, most comfortable bed! great linens, a really large shower. walking distance from the main street fir shopping and food. 4-10 minute drive from multiple beautiful hikes. office staff was very friendly!

Okay, to begin with we liked the property & Palm Springs. Although a bit chilly, we went in mid January, it was bright and sunny every day and CLEAR-you can see for miles around. The property consists of 1 story 'bungalows' and 'cottages' from the 30's but completely reconstructed in 2016. The cottage we stayed in consisted of a large bedroom and a large bath area connected by a utility hallway and a cozy outside fire pit area. Good size for a couple, not for a family. Daily Housekeeping is included though we had to keep reminding them of the need for more than 1 facecloth/washcloth. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was modern. Daily delivery of a continental breakfast is a nice touch, a Keurig coffee maker (they also provided free fresh coffee at the on-site restaurant Azucar if you wish) and fresh bottled water is also a plus. A fridge is included but NO MICROWAVE made for some wasted leftovers from restaurants.Staff was quite friendly and cordial. After a few days there it felt a bit cramped so we would not spend a week there again. The room rate varied from $335 to $803 per night PLUS a daily $48 resort fee and avg $63/day taxes. Overall Price would have been $620 higher had it not been for our Expedia member pricing. The property is VERY convenient to downtown area so we were able to walk to every restaurant, museum/attraction there, you will need an Uber to the airport (10 min) and rent a car to go to Joshua Tree National Park or the PS Tramway as we did.

The property was really beautiful, we were able to enjoy a spa suite and that was nice to have. Before hand I had let the property know I was celebrating my bday and I was disappointed they didn’t do anything to acknowledge that. Check in was ok they welcomed you with a drink and a towel but room was t ready until exactly at 4 which kind of sucked, also the rooftop was booked for a private event that was one of the reason we booked the hotel for that amenity so it sucjes we weren’t able to experience that part of it but the restauaraunt was outstanding, enjoyed the food and drinks. All the staff we came across were very friendly and accompanying.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a mini honeymoon right after our wedding, we also let the staff know before that we were celebrating. The property looked beautiful when we first arrived we parked out front,the front desk receptionist wasn’t very friendly she asked what make,model and color our car was I told her and then said “we just parked right out front” and she didn’t say anything. We then pulled our luggage up the steps and through the property to get to our room. It wasn’t till later we found out there were parking spaces in the back of the property right by our room. We stayed in room 14 with the outdoor spa. The room was beautiful and looked just like the photos but there was nothing special done for our honeymoon which was disappointing. The patio area was also very cute! The first day we got massages in what was a small room with independent contractors doing the massages (they let us know that they weren’t part of the hotel staff). It definitely wasn’t the experience I was expecting for a Michelin star hotel spa. Both nights I was woken up by what I thought was the shower on full blast but it was the air conditioner draining into the shower? It didn’t stop for hours I threw towels in the shower to soften the noise but it didn’t work.So we didn’t sleep either night.Also the left sinks water didn’t work out of one faucets & the spa light also didn’t turn on.The delivered “breakfast” to your door every morning which was a joke.

While I usually stay at my favorite properties in PS and on this literal street, this was my first time at La Serena. Prior, I had dined at Azucar, the Restaurant on the rooftop (which was not accessible on this stay). I was impressed by the quiet, elevated, and thoughtful vibe this place offers to the Traveler. With only about 20 rooms on the whole property, I immediately felt like I found a private gem in the desert. Complimentary breakfast is simple - coffee, fruit, some toast and muffin options. The 2 pools are small and open late, perfectly fine for the amount of people staying there. I had the "King (01)" traveling solo, nicely appointed with a comfortable king bed, large bathroom/rain shower, and lots of nice details to feel at home in your own private stylish Villa. Loved the detail of a small bar with fridge situation - I stocked it up with my favorite beverages and snacks. (Bevmo is across the street!) Every window brings in natural light - with every vantage point considered for privacy. I felt like I had my own little apartment Villa, with a backyard patio, complete with outdoor bathtub - calming vibes, but too hot out this time for IRL use. Def NOT a party vibe. I spent much of my time IN the actual room for writing and some work, and this place was perfectly quiet for that. Downtown is easy to walk/drive only a few minutes away. Great stay. Would absolutely stay again.
