Excellent stop in The Anau. A bit expensive, but conveniently located, nice facilities, and a restaurant that's open late. Water pressure was incredible and parking was included.

Good hotel. Well located. And included an exception buffet breakfast. For the location it is a huge hotel.

The rooms are clean and big. Breakfast spread was fantastic and delicious. Parking is convenient. Plenty F&B outlets with variety in cuisine within walking distance. First morning during breakfast we had a good view a big layer of cloud over the whole lake. Beautiful sight! There is a laundry area on the property. Will recommend this property.

Hotel room was clean, comfortable and spacious. And the view out the window was quite nice. The hotel building is quite dated, feels like going back in time. Staff were friendly. Parking was easy and they let us leave our car an extra night while we went on a Milford Sound overnight cruise. Close to shops, food and lake. Hotel breakfast was pretty good but finishes at 9am.

Great location making it easy to walk around town. Good room size with lots of room for suitcases/bags. Parking was very easy and accessible and the restaurant provided an excellent breakfast buffet.

Staff were amazing, rooms were clean and comfortable, the restaurant/bar next door was just as amazing with great food and staff! Breakfast was delicious, a great 1 night stay on the way to Milford Sound. Definitely recommend!

Lovely property, although aging, it is well maintained, staff are friendly and helpful and both restaurants were great.

Room was ok, bed super comfy. We were given fresh towels but toilet wasn't cleaned, bed wasn't made and we had to ask for toilet paper. A lovely newly refurbished bathroom but nowhere to hang your toilet bag. Only 2 coat hangers in the wardrobe. Reception staff were lovely.

Hätten wir kein Upgradeauf ein neues Zimmer bekommen, wäre der Aufenthalt nicht schön gewesen , altes riesiges Hotel, was vorwiegend von chinesischen Reisegruppen genutzt wird . Ein Flügel des Hotels ist renoviert. Neu ausgestattet und mit Klimaanlage. Auf Nachfrage bekommen wir hier ein Uprade. Das war sehr freundlich. Leider mussten wir dann beim Zimmerservice viele Abstriche machen. Das Bett wurde nicht gemacht im Bad wurde nicht ordentlich sauber gemacht der Mülleimer wurde nicht geleert und das fanden wir für den Preis etwas unverschämt. Der Kühlschrank in Mini Ausführung war im Gefrierfach total zugefroren so dass man dieses nicht benutzen konnte sehr schlecht wenn man die Kühlung für ein Medikament benötigt nachdem wir uns an der Rezeption über diese Zimmer Service Leistungen Beschwerden wurde nur teilweise Abhilfe geschaffen die Lage des Hotels ist gut man erreicht alle Plätze dieser Kleinstadt sehr gut zu Fuß. Das von vielen hochgelobte Frühstücksbuffet können wir nicht so bestätigen. Frühstück gibt es nur bis 9:00 Uhr dann wird der Raum abgeschlossen und die Auswahl ist sehr begrenzt keinesfalls mit den Bildern im Internet zu vergleichen oder mit den vorangegangenen Bewertungen. Der warme Anteil ist vollkommen geschmacklos und das Personal sehr unfreundlich und unaufmerksam

This hotel contains both renovated and unrenovated rooms. I booked and paid for a renovated room but apparently the hotel had oversold this inventory during peak season, and I was instead given an unrenovated room that also happened to be directly next to a bar that played a live band until past 1am which made it impossible to sleep (when I had a 5am wakeup the next day). Thankfully, for the second night, the hotel moved me to the room I actually booked. But paying for a renovated room and getting an unrenovated one (much less the bar noise and the fact that the unrenovated one wasn't very clean) was a terrible experience -- it completely ruined my New Year's Eve. It is not hyperbole to say this was the worst experience I'd ever had at a hotel in the 15 years I've been traveling. Hotel staff was nice and tried their best to help (especially the manager and Amy at the front desk), which was appreciated -- but apparently they couldn't do anything for the first night, which in my opinion is simply unacceptable, especially given how much I had paid (which was not adjusted to account for this terrible first night).

Dated property with dust mites in carpets and bedbugs

The first impression was poor as a lobby was very dated, and when we went to room 170 it was very dark and the outside of the building looked old. It appears they renovated the rooms. However, the carpet was soiled within the first 3 feet of the room and the bathroom had hair on the floor which is unacceptable. it was a very dark room as one wall was a slider out to the car park and the other wall had a window out to the street so the drapes had to be closed all the time The big disappointment was it looked a lot better online than it did in person. I would not recommend this to a friend.

The room was spacious and clean. Staff were welcoming and we enjoyed breakfast.

Beds were not clean, had to ask to get the sheets changed. Desk and tv cabinet required cleaning as food was left on them.

Property is centrally located in Te Anau. Walking distance to everything. Nice bathroom with jetted tub. Property clean but in need of some updating.

Nice hotel but is dated in the decor of the rooms. Bed was comfortable and bathroom very good. However, room was very stuffy and the hotel suffers from a lack of air conditioning in the rooms.

Outdated rooms and hotel. No air circulation in the room, had to keep windows open or the fan running. Wifi stopped working on the last day..Breakfast was strictly ok..

We had three night here and while the room was clean, comfortable and spacious it was very dated. The whole hotel felt a little old. For the nightly price they are charging I would have expected something a little more modern. Having said that the included breakfast is great and the location is very continent to walk to plenty of cafes and restaurants.

Room 279 faces onto the main road which was busy and noisy with traffic and people. There is nowhere to sit in the room and one dilapidated seat on a balcony just big enough to hold two. The rest of the hotel might be in better condition but the annex where the standard rooms are is tired and in need of a refurbishment. The breakfast was quite good

The hotel is a 3 to 4 star style hotel which is ok with one big exception. In summer, our west facing room was uninhabitably hot until late in the evening. The hotel has no air con and our room had one window that opened only slightly. The only way we could occupy the room was to leave the door open which was most unsatisfactory.

Great location in the middle of town and east walking distance to lake, restaurants and shopping. Our room was a little small and the lack of air conditioning made it quite stuffy even with the fan supplied by staff

Wifi accessibility was absolutely frustrating. Would not recommend for stay during working trips.

The hotel grew on me. We arrived on Christmas Day at the same time as a large coach party so check in was a little slow. I suggest that the hotel puts a soft drink stand with cups by reception, as it's a hotel that does attract a lot of coach parties and queues at reception are inevitable. At least offering people a free welcome cold drink would be a nice touch. In fact, the staff were really friendly. Our room was spacious, with two queen beds.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 – Incredible Stay! I stayed here with my two little kids and we had such a great time! The staff were absolutely amazing—so kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. Travelling solo with young kids can be tough, but they went out of their way to make things easy and comfortable for us. The location was perfect, close to everything we needed. A special shoutout to the breakfast and restaurant team — the food was delicious and the staff were incredible with the kids. It really made a big difference to our mornings! We’ll 100% be staying here again.

Great room and such a convenient location. The restaurant employees are great, super friendly and so kind. Unfortunately, the front desk employees weren’t as helpful or friendly….especially for/to guests traveling at Christmas time. Regardless, I’d definitely stay here again.

As usual the staff and hotel were awesome especially as the power in Te Anau had been off for over 24hrsdue to the storms and just came back on as we arrived. They were fantastic under pressure. A+++ to all at the hotel.

I did not realize that the property at a time before which you had to check-in (9 pm). I have travelled around the world and never been to property that has a time after which you cannot check-in. Due to unforeseen circumstances I reached this property at 12:30 am. When I reached the property, I rang the reception bell as their was no one at the reception area. Next thing I hear is a man yelling at me screaming F*ck You and then a women comes stopping into the reception area and starts yelling at me that I was so rude for showing up at 12:30 am. This yelling continued for 10 mins while I told the women multiple times that I did not know about the check-in time being before 9 pm. Also, I told her multiple times that I was sorry to wake her and her husband up as I had no idea they stayed above the reception area and yet she continued to yell at me repeating many time to read the "damn" contract. If not for my young sleeping kids, I would have left but I needed a place to stay and so apologized for a room. I have never ever gotten yelled at for paying $200 USD for a room and then being yelled and cursed at. If you run/own a hotel, motel, B&B, VRBO or AirBNB you should expect that there will be times when your paying customer will be late due to unforeseen circumstances and that you might want to be empathic to customer that shows up tired with sleeping kids and wife at 12:30 am. Nonetheless, i will never stay at this motel or this chain ever again

Staff was delightfully helpful, definitely went the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The Premium King rooms were exceptionally nice; the Standard room had a more outdated TV and lacked some of the upgrades of the premium rooms, but that is to be expected. Amy at the front desk was particularly engaging and helpful when we had an issue getting the Premium room TVs to stream what we wanted to watch.

The woman on reception was amazing! Really friendly and helpful. Very convenient positioning, 2 mins walk to lakefront, 5 mins walk to tour sites.

The staff was great and held onto extra gear for us for 4 days while we hiked the Milford track

This is the perfect location! Rooms were clean and spacious in the suite. I loved the shower and water pressure in the room. Breakfast was okay… but convenient as we left early in the morning. I would stay here again. The location is PERFECT

The food at the restaurant is good. Customer service is good too. Only issue is the shower head. The water pressure for the hot option is extremely strong.

We booked this as a stop over which is what this hotel is, I wouldn’t say it’s a four star. The buffet restaurant was awful but you can use the downstairs restaurant which was much better.
