The Shay exceeded our expectations. The rooftop pool is a bit of a hotspot and a really cool place to spend the day. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is trendy and well appointed.

You could fly in and shuttle to this property and not need to rent a car or Uber. Everything is so close. The metro is easily accessible and complimentary fare is provided. The restaurants are wonderful. It was a friendly welcoming environment!

Small things in the room were broken (latch to lock bathroom door) or not working (light bulb in bathroom). I don’t like the valet as a must. It’s already inconvenient then the valets don’t/can’t always have the car ready in 10 minutes. If you want to make a quick stop they can keep your car out but I didn’t always know I would be leaving again so quickly. Also cars pile up quickly in the drive way. It was a more enjoyable stay when they allowed the guests to park themselves

Clean and comfortable stay in Culver City. I'd definitely stay here again, depending on the pricing of it all. It was comfortable and walkable to downtown Culver City with great restaurants and options nearby. I liked the free ubers within the 2 mile radius as well, since I was there to visit my friend who lived nearby. Hotel parking is a bit pricey at $50 a night, but I also don't think there's any other options.

I give the rooms 5 stars. The design is excellent and the beds are very comfortable. My one complaint is that it takes about 5 minutes for the hot water to arrive in the shower. I stayed 3 days and it was an issue no matter what time of day I showered. Maybe it was an 6th floor issue. Also the pool is cloudy and dingy (lots of kids and French fries). I was surprised at how dirty the chaise chairs around the pool looked. Beyond that the roof pool area has a super cool vibe.

Had a great stay. The location is a great jumping off point for LA. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and the facilities, WiFi, pool, valet, etc. were all excellent

deceptive business practices. expect to pay an extra $80 for parking and "destination services" (bus passes). front desk said one hour early check-in would be fine, we showed up and were made to wait in the lobby for an hour and a half. blood stains on towels. patio room upgrade not worth it.

Our second stay at the Shay. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The service staff both at the front desk and at the restaurants were very nice. The two restaurants both have good food. Currently there is construction going on so if you’re staying on that side of the construction side it may be a little loud as you can hear the sound. Otherwise, there are close by restaurants around to try and it seems like a quiet neighborhood.

Shay was very trendy modern design hotel. The room was clean and on point. I had a room with a patio sitting area. The staff at check-in was very nice. The pool was nice and all the servers were attentive. Dog friendly was a plus.

Reservations were made 6 months ago. We worked Friday and then had a 1 1/2 hour drive so we didn’t arrive until 10pm and because the hotel was at capacity we got the last room which was under your club. As you can imagine it was loud and made hearing the tv, conversation, relaxing and sleeping difficult. Maybe rooms should be assigned when reserved.

Checked in just before 10pm and we’re told food available until 11pm. But when we got there they told us starting that night they were closing an hour early and the kitchen was already cleaned. We had to order room service and the sandwich they brought was grilled and with French fries , all made in the kitchen that was just cleaned. Then the tv wasn’t working and technician came and couldn’t get it to work. So we ate our food and then we’re moved to another room at 11pm. The next day our card keys had to be fixed 4 times and the last time we tried to go up to our room, management had to escort us on the elevator and then into our room. Never have we had so many problems in a one night stay

Great stay, room was wonderful clean and comfortable. The entire staff was very helpful especially the 2 front desk ladies. Carmel was so helpful professional and made me feel welcomed, special, and valued. I will certainly recommend the Shay to my people and look forward to staying there in my future travels. Everything was good except the check in and check out. They told me the room not ready but you can upgrade the room to be ready and they charge for that upgrade, the room is same but in high floor When I checked out also there is additional fee for facilities that I didn’t use it. They told me the room not ready but you can upgrade the room to be ready and they charge for that upgrade, the room is same but in high floor When I checked out also there is additional fee for facilities that I didn’t use it. Checked in just before 10pm and we’re told food available until 11pm. But when we got there they told us starting that night they were closing an hour early and the kitchen was already cleaned. We had to order room service and the sandwich they brought was grilled and with French fries , all made in the kitchen that was just cleaned. Then the tv wasn’t working and technician came and couldn’t get it to work. So we ate our food and then we’re moved to another room at 11pm. The next day our card keys had to be fixed 4 times and the last time we tried to go up to our room, management had to escort us on the elevator and then into our room. Never have we had so many problems in a one night stay

You could fly in and shuttle to this property and not need to rent a car or Uber. Everything is so close. The metro is easily accessible and complimentary fare is provided. The restaurants are wonderful. It was a friendly welcoming environment!

Amazing spot and walkable to Erewhon, Trader Joe’s, Coffee, Dining and more. Close to USC (20 mins). Great staff and beautiful rooms. Will stay again!

The staff was very nice and helpful. The property was well kept, safe, and aesthetically pleasing. Location was very convenient for us as our main attraction to the area was within walking distance, and we did walk from our hotel to our main attraction several times.

Very LA. Situated in a concrete jungle with homeless, filth, and miles of bland buildings, fast traffic, etc. Basically a downtown feel. Everything about the hotel was expensive. The rooftop restaurant seems to be the attraction, with a lot of wealthy young locals paying the mandatory $70 parking feel just to eat there.

Clean and comfortable stay in Culver City. I'd definitely stay here again, depending on the pricing of it all. It was comfortable and walkable to downtown Culver City with great restaurants and options nearby. I liked the free ubers within the 2 mile radius as well, since I was there to visit my friend who lived nearby. Hotel parking is a bit pricey at $50 a night, but I also don't think there's any other options.

Everything about the hotel was fantastic. Staff were amazing. The restaurants were both great and the decor and set up of the hotel was wonderful too. Perfect base for some LA fun with the kids.

This was a great stay! The property is beautiful! Food at hotel was incredible, easy to get around and exceptionally clean and quiet. The room was wonderful and slept like a baby in the comfortable bed. Modern amenities and i absolutely loved the text service, you can text the front desk with any questions, or for service. What a nice option! The staff was so friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be staying here again when I am in the area!

The entire property makes you feel as if you have escaped LA. From the rooms, to the dining, to the roof top luxury pool area, every moment was completely comfortable, relaxing and exceeded expectations. For anyone who dreads accommodation in LA, The Shay will make you happy.

We were glad to be able to check in at 3. We had driven from the Bay Area and were tired and hungry. We grabbed a couple of cocktails and food at the Canopy Club. Definitely worth it.

Our second stay at the Shay. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The service staff both at the front desk and at the restaurants were very nice. The two restaurants both have good food. Currently there is construction going on so if you’re staying on that side of the construction side it may be a little loud as you can hear the sound. Otherwise, there are close by restaurants around to try and it seems like a quiet neighborhood.

We had a very nice day at the Shay. Went with my friend and our daughters to go see Taylor Swift. When we walked into the lobby, they had bracelet making. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the property is adorable! the food that we ate was fantastic up at the pool side restaurant, and the atmosphere was great!

The Shay is very nice but the resort/pool policies are a real negative. People who stay at the hotel do NOT have priority for the lounge chairs at the pool. People from outside can pay about $80 to reserve the chairs for a time and guests cannot use them. For hotel guests it is first come first get the chairs. Kind of French style; put your hat or book on the chair for the day at 8am and come at 11am. I don't even like this policy for guests. In Honolulu if you leave your chair for 30 minutes you lose it. Yeah for those kind of policies. The staff are incredible and for a trendy hotel the rooms even had drawers, hangers and a nightstand. The location is perfect for Culver.
