The room was very good, comfortable bed, pillow, clean! Buffet was about 5/10. Eggs had the texture of the "instant eggs" not fresh eggs, fruit was not fresh, coffee was good though. We didn't use the kitchen portion of the room. I booked this hotel via Hotels.com with the price guarantee. Hyatt canx'd the first booking. Hotels.com contacted me promising an equal or better room at the same price. They contacted Hyatt to see if they would accept. They did again, same price per Hotels.com. Arrived at Hotel, checked in by simply showing driver's license and CC used to book with Hotels.com. They scanned my Hyatt rewards QR, gave me key cards. At checkout, I returned the key cards, they said have a nice day and left. No receipt, no mention of double charge, etc. The Hyatt Home Herndon/Reston charged me also plus my Hotels.com charge. Plus Hyatt charged me $47 higher rate and when I contacted Hotels.com they said Hyatt refused to refund saying I personally booked the room. A Lie! This mgt at this hotel is not trustworthy. I contacted CC to put the charge in dispute and seek a refund. I will also contact Hyatt INC inform them of this wrong conduct. Also the responsibility is on HOTELS.COM to make this right, I should not be fighting this battle. Hyatt Home Herndon/Reston is on my BLACK LIST for future.

When we tried to check in there was no one at front desk. After 5 min I started calling the main number over and over, no one answered; I chose talk to manager, no answer, chose talk to assistant manager, no answer, chose customer service, rang on and on. Finally someone who I later saw bartending came over and checked us in (by now there was a line behind me). I didn’t expect much since it was cheaper hotel, but with the Hyatt name I expected better than usual. Eh. We got the two bedroom suite. The beds were decent but old. And weirdly, the counters are all much lower than we are used to. Hard to wash your face. But again, you can’t get a two bedroom suite around here for this price. Breakfast was good. Parking free and plentiful. Pool was ok. So why the one star review? 1. To get a hot shower, you have to turn it all the way to the hot side and you lose water pressure in the process. So either a strong lukewarm shower or a soft hot shower. 2. Bedrooms have cheap french doors that swing inward to the bedrooms but don’t close all the way with a gap in between. No privacy. No noise reduction. 3. Half the lights in the room didn’t work. This is just cheap maintenance not being done. Which makes me question the maintenance in general. 4. Three TVs - 2 didn’t work. Cable only, no smart TV log in for any streaming services. 5. My husband is allergic to animal dander and I am allergic to mold. Both our allergies were bad the whole time. Wouldn’t take much to be a better hotel.
