Very family friendly/quiet. Pool was very warm! Hot tub hot! Beach was beautiful! First time in Destin. Our condo (608) had nice accommodations and was clean. Beds were comfy. Kitchen had everything we needed. Beautiful view with sunrises and sunsets! Bunk beds were a hit! Only on-site dining option was a small cafe that had hours of 8-10 (breakfast) and 12-4 (lunch). We never ate there so I can’t comment on food. We stayed 4 nights. There was dish soap provided but no dishrag or sponge (I did ask for one). Basic toiletries and hand soap, along with towels were also provided. We brought our own beach towels. 2 of the 4 elevators were down, it appears they are updating them. Parking was free and convenient. Very close to Target and Walmart. Beachside Tiki Bar had domestic 16oz for $5/can- not bad. They had a variety of other beers as well. Blended drinks and other sweet treats. My biggest complaint and really my only one, is you are not allowed to set up any chairs/towels ahead (ocean front) of the pre-rented chairs/umbrella the resort rents out. And even worse, there are security guards watching the adjacent properties so you aren’t allowed to set up next to the umbrellas even if no one is occupying that sand. Super disappointed. We already paid to be here, we shouldn’t have to pay to use the beach and be close to kids in the water. I’ve stayed across the country, ocean front and never experienced something as silly as not being able to set up a chair where I want.

Not an extravagant place but if you have a child/children.. the 3 pools and beach access will be great. Also a decent gym/steam room/sauna if you like that sort of thing. The available outdoor gas grills were great and we used them almost every day. If you’re single or a couple looking for solitude and silence this may not be the place for you, it’s not really noisy but tons of kids running around almost constantly.

I love how convenient everything is: 2 pools that always have plenty of seating, a tiki bar, gym, etc. Our room was oceanfront and the view was amazing!

View amazing! Room very nice! Security great. Chair rental and umbrella rental annoying (We pay for the private beach access, but there are so many chairs set up to rent smack dab in front of the water you have to stand in the water to enjoy the beach).

Property was nice, balcony was right above the pool so it was noisy during the day. Rental chairs took up all the beach so if you had your own chairs, you have to set up behind them. Could not set up close to water. No trespassing signs on both sides of beach so walking on the beach was a little confusing. Front desk was not very helpful on finding our room. Kinda just sign here, here is parking pass and that’s about all was said. We had to ask a security guard. Shut down pool at 3:00 for a private party. There was other pools but not beach front.

I’m trying to reach customer service to file a complaint/ claim and discuss my family’s trip we just completed. I’ve tried everything possible to get through the automated system to get to a representative. Nothing works it’s an endless loop. Our property was in terrible condition. I have tons of pictures to support my claim. Ceiling was falling in, mold, grime and dirt on all doors, baseboard trim and all the door frames, rusty appliances, non working garbage disposal, mold in shower, completely clogged air filters, the walls, and trim were marred and beat up terribly throughout the room, mattress was from 1997 and hard as a rock and we couldn’t sleep on. Literally. The pull out mattress from the sofa was filthy and had mold/mildew all underneath the mattress. The list goes on and on. Again I have tons of pictures. We talked to Pelican Resort while there and were directed to Expedia since we booked through a 3rd party Agencey. They weren’t concerned in the least and didn’t even come up to view our complaints like we were lying. I need someone to contact me asap.

I did like the pools and the beach. What I didnt like was the description of the condo I was given when I booked this trip through Expedia. The condo had cockroaches, and the description said it had a washer and dryer in condo. It did have the washer and dryer but the door was locked and I was told from Panhandle Getaways that the condo was not advertised with a washer and dryer. Then they do not provide beach towels at all. We are at the beach, how can they not offer beach towels. The amount of money paid for the condo should cover the $5 per beach towel, I had to purchase at the surf shop. Then, the toilet paper holder broke on the first day, and when I spoke with panhandle people I did tell them I wanted to be notified when they wanted to come in and fix it since there was not a safe in the room. They entered the room and fixed it without letting me know they were entering the room. This property is also not advertised that you can not get any assistance like towels, toilet paper, literally anything. The panhandle people did bring some trash bags and toilet paper after I complained. But I do feel these are things I shouldnt have had to request.

The resort was nice. The problem was the condo was owned by someone else who had their own housekeeping. We were misled when it came to housekeeping. We only recived extra towels when it came to having to complain to the property manager. They only provided one set. Not evough for showering and the beach for the week. Orbitz makes it sound like housekeeping and towels will be provideded daily. The front desk would not provide extra towels or anything extra. When asked for some garbage bags from the front desk they only gave one small one and wouldnt give more because of what room we were stayed in. We had to buy our own towels for the whole week along with toilet paper because the one they provided was thin and rough. The floors did not feel clean upon arriving and there was hair on the king bed sheets. There was a full kitchen set and fridge you are able to use. They dont do housekeeping throughout the week. Only when you leave. The night before we left we received a text saying we need to be out the room before midnight even though we had agreed upon checkout was 12pm the following day. Then they said yes 10 am we have to be out when we responded saying that was not on our contract and we agreed 12pm. They responded okay and then the next morning we had cleaners knocking on our door close to 10 am. Then again at 10 30 while we were still in the room. Beside that it was a minute walk from the pools and and gorgeous beach which made it worth it.

The Pelican Beach Resort in itself is a beautiful place with a fantastic location. The staff was very friendly and the areas in and around the resort were neat and clean. The room we stayed in however was not at all what I expected. To start off, when we got up to our room, the door was hanging wide open. We soon learned that's because it didn't stay shut unless you slammed it.The place was filthy. I took pictures because I could not believe the condition. The doors had caked on dirt, they clearly hadn't been washed in a VERY long time. The curtains had food/drinks spattered on them. The trim in the bathroom had paint spattered on them. The area rug in the livingroom had net been vacuumed in I don’t know how long so much sand came out of it. The floors and baseboards were filthy upon arrival. The toilet paper holder was on the floor in the bathroom instead of hanging on the wall. Each morning between 6-7 am we were woken by the metal garage door right outside our door where the house all the garbage for all the condo units (yes all you smell is hot garbage each time you leave the condo) then hear the garbage truck picking up and delivery a new dumpster each morning as the workers are throwing the stored garbage from the garage area into the newly delivered dumpster leaving garbage juice from the bags all over the ground to bake in the hot sun. Best part none of this was listed in the description of being near the garbage area! Otherwise wouldn’t have rented this condo! The top bunk couldn’t even use it was so close to the ceiling so our daughter had to sleep in the bed with my husband and I. The bathrooms don’t even have a soap dish for the bars of soap!

The view to the ocean was great. Pretty much what I paid for apparently. The room was in much need of a deep cleaning. Splatters on the walls. Floor was gross. Area rugs need to be replaced. Shower was dirty. The room was not what I was expecting. Pictures on the website were deceiving. Not at all what I got.

Upon entering the room it smelled old / moldy Another foul smell at other times. Sewer gas? Couldn’t located it. Bugs in the main bathroom. Unfortunately, for us they were doing hurricane modifications on the bldg. . 8:00 am workers were banging around. At 7:00am the garbage truck banging around too the bedroom window is next to it. No rest was had. Room was located on the first floor. View of people at the pool. Could see the ocean. Parking easy, checkin fast, room had everything needed for the stay. Had to drive everywhere. Not a location if you wanted to walk to a restaurant.

I’ve stayed at Pelican Beach several times before, but this time it was awful. The room we stayed in. It needs lots of love. Dishwasher didn’t work. Room smelled like mildew. The noise of the slamming doors to the stair well and the trash compactor all night long. The wall by the door is deteriorating away has a 2 by 2 hole on it. No blankets for the hide away bed.

The mattress was the worst mattress I have ever slept on in my life, I would have gotten more sleep on the beach. The next day we had to purchase a $175 mattress topper to be able to sleep. We even tried sleeping on the bunk beds which were horrible as well. The view from the balcony was beautiful. They also need to put black out curtains in the bedroom it is so bright in there it look like runway lights shinning in you face. The tv was not working in the bedroom, there was parts of the ceiling peeling off. The unit needs an update. I highly recommend the owner sleep a night in the unit. The front desk was not helpful just told us we need to get ahold of the people we rented from. We have been to Destin regularly over the last 10 years and this was by far the worse hotel stay aside from the view.

Loved the property and the condo. My only issues were the 2 small beds were VERY uncomfortable and anytime you moved they made a lot of noise. Also the tv in the master bedroom was set up where you had to get up and change the channel every time because the location of the box was behind the tv

Room 1011 was on the corner so the view was amazing. We were able to see the Thursday fireworks from the hallway. The place was clean and comfortable. The cons…the bedroom is by the hall trash chute which which was loud. There is a sign to not use it at night but people still do and it woke us up every time. Also, there were only 4 elevators, on that side of the provides one laundry

Someone in the property next door or above us was drilling on the floor and it was very unpleasant as the noise was everyday t he at we were there. Also our apartment needed better maintenance as the shower glass door was having issues, the tv in the master bedroom was falling off the wall, and 2 elevators were not working so it would take long every time we needed to go up or down. I was not satisfied with the stay.

Upon entering the room it smelled old / moldy Another foul smell at other times. Sewer gas? Couldn’t located it. Bugs in the main bathroom. Unfortunately, for us they were doing hurricane modifications on the bldg. . 8:00 am workers were banging around. At 7:00am the garbage truck banging around too the bedroom window is next to it. No rest was had. Room was located on the first floor. View of people at the pool. Could see the ocean. Parking easy, checkin fast, room had everything needed for the stay. Had to drive everywhere. Not a location if you wanted to walk to a restaurant.

I’m trying to reach customer service to file a complaint/ claim and discuss my family’s trip we just completed. I’ve tried everything possible to get through the automated system to get to a representative. Nothing works it’s an endless loop. Our property was in terrible condition. I have tons of pictures to support my claim. Ceiling was falling in, mold, grime and dirt on all doors, baseboard trim and all the door frames, rusty appliances, non working garbage disposal, mold in shower, completely clogged air filters, the walls, and trim were marred and beat up terribly throughout the room, mattress was from 1997 and hard as a rock and we couldn’t sleep on. Literally. The pull out mattress from the sofa was filthy and had mold/mildew all underneath the mattress. The list goes on and on. Again I have tons of pictures. We talked to Pelican Resort while there and were directed to Expedia since we booked through a 3rd party Agencey. They weren’t concerned in the least and didn’t even come up to view our complaints like we were lying. I need someone to contact me asap.

The Pelican Beach Resort in itself is a beautiful place with a fantastic location. The staff was very friendly and the areas in and around the resort were neat and clean. The room we stayed in however was not at all what I expected. To start off, when we got up to our room, the door was hanging wide open. We soon learned that's because it didn't stay shut unless you slammed it.The place was filthy. I took pictures because I could not believe the condition. The doors had caked on dirt, they clearly hadn't been washed in a VERY long time. The curtains had food/drinks spattered on them. The trim in the bathroom had paint spattered on them. I was given an access code to the property. I made an attempt call the front desk of the resort to explain that the access code was not working when we arrived, then the front desk told me i needed to call expedia, bc i booked with a 3rd party I needed to call expedia to get the access code (again), which mind you I already had it. But it was not working. I then called Expedia and they told me they needed to to contact the resort as well. Neither parties were helping I waited over an hr and no one could help. I then called the number on the door which was another number for the resort. And that actually helped bc the gentleman had to RESET the code since the first code that was provided to me did not work. It only needed to be reset! The pictures are nothing like the resort. Our dishwasher was broken, the fold out sofa was like sleeping on bars, there were bugs inside the condo, not enough blankets for everyone or pillows. They closed the pool at 6 one night when the sign said disk and was open until 9 all the other nights. The security was rude. For the amount of money paid, I was terribly disappointed and will not return. We go to Destin every year.

Property was nice, balcony was right above the pool so it was noisy during the day. Rental chairs took up all the beach so if you had your own chairs, you have to set up behind them. Could not set up close to water. No trespassing signs on both sides of beach so walking on the beach was a little confusing. Front desk was not very helpful on finding our room. Very family friendly/quiet. Pool was very warm! Hot tub hot! Beach was beautiful! First time in Destin. Our condo (608) had nice accommodations and was clean. Beds were comfy. Kitchen had everything we needed. Beautiful view with sunrises and sunsets! Bunk beds were a hit! Only on-site dining option was a small cafe that had hours of 8-10 (breakfast) and 12-4 (lunch). We never ate there so I can’t comment on food. We stayed 4 nights. There was dish soap provided but no dishrag or sponge (I did ask for one). Basic toiletries and hand soap, along with towels were also provided. We brought our own beach towels. 2 of the 4 elevators were down, it appears they are updating them. Parking was free and convenient. Very close to Target and Walmart. Beachside Tiki Bar had domestic 16oz for $5/can- not bad. They had a variety of other beers as well. Blended drinks and other sweet treats. My biggest complaint and really my only one, is you are not allowed to set up any chairs/towels ahead (ocean front) of the pre-rented chairs/umbrella the resort rents out. And even worse, there are security guards watching the adjacent properties so you aren’t allowed to set up next to the umbrellas even if no one is occupying that sand. Super disappointed. We already paid to be here, we shouldn’t have to pay to use the beach and be close to kids in the water. I’ve stayed across the country, ocean front and never experienced something as silly as not being able to set up a chair where I want.

I really didn't like being told that we had to wear a wrist band for our entire vacation, like we're teenagers at a club. The staff seemed really unhappy with life in general. The room smelled moldy when we arrived but wasn't too bad once we opened the balcony doors. There was a surprising amount of cookware which was nice. The tiki bar was good but I never found the cafe.

Not an extravagant place but if you have a child/children.. the 3 pools and beach access will be great. Also a decent gym/steam room/sauna if you like that sort of thing. The available outdoor gas grills were great and we used them almost every day. If you’re single or a couple looking for solitude and silence this may not be the place for you, it’s not really noisy but tons of kids running around almost constantly.

I think it's bad that you enter at 4 and leave too early the space looks big and when you arrive it's small there are no food options and the bad restaurant is very bad

Upon entering the room it smelled old / moldy Another foul smell at other times. Sewer gas? Couldn’t located it. Bugs in the main bathroom. Unfortunately, for us they were doing hurricane modifications on the bldg. . 8:00 am workers were banging around. At 7:00am the garbage truck banging around too the bedroom window is next to it. No rest was had. Room was located on the first floor. View of people at the pool. Could see the ocean. Parking easy, checkin fast, room had everything needed for the stay. Had to drive everywhere. Not a location if you wanted to walk to a restaurant.

The location was perfect. The apartment/condo was on the 1st level which also great, the pool and beach access was in our backyard. We loved it. The only negative was the barstools were stained (nothing a carpet cleaner couldn’t fix), and master restroom needed an upgrade or thorough cleaning, from walls to tile. Wasn’t a complete fail but could be cleaner for the price. The water wasn’t draining in the tub either but it was resolved by the next morning. The biggest ick was that restrooms shower curtain was discolored and molded. You could tell it may have been washed but it should’ve been replaced. I was told it would be replaced when they fixed the drain but it wasn’t. The worst thing was the fact that we paid for an hour delayed/late checkout but apparently the housekeeper didn’t get the memo and barged in without giving my son a chance to answer the knock 15 minutes passed the original checkout time. When she saw him she said oh then slammed the door. Then about 15 minutes later, we were packing up the car and she tried coming in again but encountered my husband, she was yelling what time did we plan on leaving and starting yelling “10, 15 minutes!?” My husband told her we paid for the hour so we get the hour, she then popped her head in as I was coming towards the door and yelled I’m not mad at yall but they should’ve told me! It was so unprofessional and really upset us. She basically interrupted our extra PAID HOUR, basically the whole hour. I only recvd apologies.

Master bath was small and not updated. Shower head was pretty bad. Otherwise a great condo right on the beach. Need to put instructions for trash being we were on first floor there were no trash chutes and no dumpster access.
