I like the access to the beach and places to eat very close (until 9:00 AM), Staff was very accessible. Bongos Beach Bar and Grille food and drinks were very good. I did not like the parking space. This is very limited. So do not plan to explore and get back to the hotel. Food is expensive, although it was good. One elevator was on maintenance. Property requires some fixes to keep it nice and according with the Fees.

The main lifts were out of action therefore the service lift was used which seemed unsafe, the wait for the lift was in access of 10 minutes at times, Pool area closed for refurbishment, use of neighbouring hotel was offer, challenged by staff who said we shouldn’t be using their facilities (wristband worn).,,

staff checking in was awesome. very helpfull and nice to speak with. staff at beachwas great as well. not happy that wifi did not work in areas of our room. had to sit on couch most of time for internet and there were dead spots in room. called for help but didnt get anywhere. very frustrated trying to use laptop. other thsn that its great

Staff at the Bellwether was GREAT! The resort is in a perfect location. Easy access to so many wonderful attractions. Love being able to walk right out onto the beach. The only, and I mean the only disappointment was the elevators. They have two elevators in the lobby that go from the parking garage all the way to the penthouse, an elevator in the front that goes to the Spinners restaurant and a service elevator for staff. My wife and I were there for 8 days and the one elevator never worked. On day three the elevator for the restaurant went down which made everyone have to use the guest elevators. It would be an understatement to say it was joke trying to get to our room on the 9th floor. After reading several reviews this has been an ongoing problem. At one point we waited almost 10 minutes for the elevator. We ended up using the staff service elevator the rest of our stay. When you pay a lot of money to stay at a nice resort you’d think you could have working elevator. Like I said at the beginning this is a beautiful hotel and I’d stay there again but I will be checking before check in to make sure everything is working.

Like the location , awesome view from room , upper restaurants , private beach, cabanas are included in resort fee but you have to stand in line at list 30-45 min to reserve one , i should be able reserve one at some desk or online ,social club where you can get quick coffee or drink served not the freshest bake goods all is defrost before serving,

This place must have been the best spot in town when it was built. So much to do onsite for those without transportation. Good read good. Service was top notch. Beach was amazing. Rooms were big, clean, AC worked well. View of the the ocean was perfect. Staff are great. Highly recommended. My only complaint is the hallways can use an update. One elevator is down (August 2024) but this didn't hamper us much. The door to balcony had the handle fall off but we ended up spending much less time in the room than expected. The lounge on the 11th floor is spectacular. The views are amazing. Firepit and loungers are perfect. Overall our stay was perfect and we'd come again. Free parking. Free wifi that works on the beach by included Cabanas but not by water. Food prices were reasonable. Spinners was pricey and we opted out for near by Buenos Italian which was excellent. Watersports rental next to us for Ease of access. Loungers/Cabanas reservations at 8am. People started lining up at 7am. But you can come later and still get a further back one at 9 or 10am and likely even later. Lots of games on the beach. Volleyball, bean bag toss, spike all etc. Floating devices are also available. Pool looked nice but didn't use it. We had good and drinks brought to us while on the beach which was so appreciated as the sun really makes you lazy. ☺️

An excellent place for a relaxing vacation in the sun! The room was not crowded with 2 king beds in, and very well maintained by the cleaning staff. The rotating restaurant at 11th floor is one of the area's attractions - a bit pricy but you get what you're paying for! You can also enjoy a quiet sunset on the rooftop lounge, or head down to the beachside restaurant for live music. Only one negative - nowhere in the online description or hotel website is indicated that only 1 cabana and 2 beach chairs are included per room, even if you have more than 2 registered guests per room. Having to pay for the extra chair was an unpleasant surprise.

Beautiful resort in an excellent area. Beach access was wonderful. Spinners restaurant was wonderful with a rotatating dining area on the top floor. This made for a memorable experience. Bongos beach bar and daily entertainment made for wonderful afternoon unwinding. Loved the whole time there.

The Level Eleven rooftop bar and the Spinners Restaurant on the 12th floor were absolutely amazing!! Would definitely stay here again! And the view from our oceanfront room was magnificent!!

One of the elevators was broken throughout our stay which, at times, was a little inconvenient, but they made every effort to accommodate. The elevator to the rooftop bar and restaurant quit working due to a rainstorm. Again, not a major issue, but a little inconvenient. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful in all areas. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Overall, we enjoyed our stay immensely!

1. Checked in early morning, spent $48 on breakfast at the social-Burger King would have been better. 2. Floor of room was filthy. Feet black/dirty from walking around room. 3. Side chair in room with mold/mildew spots. Definitely no chic with this shabby.

This stay was beyond disappointing. The pictures of this place look so pretty and you just can’t see the smell this hotel has. From the minute you step into the hotel, then into the elevator, and into your room there’s a must. Our room had a terrible smell of mold and must, which later turned out to be mold growing in the ceiling, mold growing on the chairs and the bathroom flooring also moldy. The bathroom smelled even worse than the rest of it. Our bed initially had sand all over the comforter and an ugly stain on the bed. Our drain in the bathroom then wouldn’t open either. The shower head was covered in deposits from the water and made it shoot every which way. Along with the big boogie someone left behind. After reporting the mold they happily moved me to the next room. This room also had a smell but not nearly as bad as the first and the poor AC sounded like it could just die any minute. Sheets were clean in this room, but with the storm coming our floors quickly became soaked. They also let us know that house keeping came every other day but every day our beds were made so that didn’t make much sense. Hotels.com reports that this place has breakfast for a few and that’s WRONG.

Nice location and very good service (especially during check-in) but no clean at all (sand in the floor, a dead cockroach and too much dirt in the balcony). The door of the bathroom was very difficult to close.

This property was not what I had expected and did not live up to the information on its website. The hallways were dingy and had a musty smell. There was only one working elevator, and it was hot, dim and appeared not to have been updated in some time. The hotel’s best asset is its staff, as they are competent, friendly and available, but staff alone cannot make the hotel.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and immediately switched rooms when our first one had not been cleaned prior to check in. The bar is fun with live music. The breakfast/lunch cafe has a great selection. Pool is kept warm. The floors are wood vinyl which I prefer over carpet in rooms. Convenient location and right on the beach. Plenty of dinner options. Rooms had plenty of space. Cons: This is an older motel that has had makeup only renovation. The halls are dark and damp. Doors don’t shut completely to keep sound out. Furniture in the rooms is cheaper quality and creaked every time I rolled over in bed or opened the door to the mini fridge. Bathroom shower is 6ft tall, so really small for an above average height guest. Small bathroom.

Like most of st petersburgh, the hotel is dated. The room with a "view of the bay" really overlooks the parking lot. The staff was excellent though, and Spinners rooftop restaurant was very good and worth a visit!

The rooms were a little dim; terrible mattress, and overall felt a little dirty. You can tell they’ve recently updated the property; but the room we were in didn’t feel plush; great view though

Since the building is round the room was laid out weird but was nice. Could only view tv from the bed not the couch. No microwave but they brought over to the room. I think the $50 day activity fee was over priced. It is to use the lounge chairs but that should be included in the room price. $35 for 2 drinks is also over priced. Beach was beautiful! Will try other accomodations next time.

The room is big; however, the wooden floor is buckling and the bathroom is small. The main restaurant has good food but is very expensive. The lobby and pool look nice. The beach is nice and the chairs are included in the resort fee. We also got two free drinks.

Staff at the Bellwether was GREAT! The resort is in a perfect location. Easy access to so many wonderful attractions. Love being able to walk right out onto the beach. The only, and I mean the only disappointment was the elevators. They have two elevators in the lobby that go from the parking garage all the way to the penthouse, an elevator in the front that goes to the Spinners restaurant and a service elevator for staff. My wife and I were there for 8 days and the one elevator never worked. On day three the elevator for the restaurant went down which made everyone have to use the guest elevators. It would be an understatement to say it was joke trying to get to our room on the 9th floor. After reading several reviews this has been an ongoing problem. At one point we waited almost 10 minutes for the elevator. We ended up using the staff service elevator the rest of our stay. When you pay a couple thousand dollars to stay a resort you’d think you could have working elevator. Like I said at the beginning this is a beautiful hotel and I’d stay there again but I will be checking before check in to make sure everything is working.

Great location. Grocery, pharmacy and restaurants all walkable. I stay in the area several times a year. Often staying at a condo with relatives. I do make regular recommendations to others and have stayed at several hotels. While most of the staff were great, the receptionist upon check in was professional but very abrupt and not friendly. (A non customer facing roll) We arrived early after a cruise and asked if it was possible to check in early. Apparently we could do so for $75. I have stayed at other properties in the area and have never been charged. (Tradewinds,Sirata, dolphin and others) Upon check in we also were told there were no rooms that were not adjoining to another room. This is something I would have liked to know ahead of time as I would not have booked. Adjoining rooms are too noisy for us. Further we should have been offered a free upgrade due to being an Expedia VIP booking.

Where should I start. Arrival okay check in okay elevator out of order took forever to get to room because of this inconvenience. Hotel was not helpful with anything. Wife asked then to have our room cleaned they never cleaned our room in five days we where there. She had to ask the cleaning lady to borrow the broom to sweep our room. Hotel bar closes before 11 I mean it just was not a good experience.

I liked that this was a beachfront property and that it was in walking distance of restaurants in the area, like Crabby Bills and the Waffle House. This property also had its own restaurants on-site and a nightclub up on the top of the building.

I flew in from Boston for a 4th of July get away., I did not rent a car, Hotel provided hotel transfer (to and from) for a fee, but well worth it, the guy was waiting for us at the airport and was even early on the return … I’ve been to a lot of resorts, I chose Bellwether because everything you need … is within walking distance, Liquor store, Supermarket, Pharmacy, and a HUGE selection of restaurants … I will definitely be going back!!!

5 day 'girls' trip! Could not ask for better - room ready when we arrived a bit early. Jordan and Vanessa were great at Bongos. Adam at Spinners was very friendly and very personable as our server. Sunset views beathtaking. Beach was amazing, room very comfortable. Lots of live entertainment at Bongos. Cabanas were a must due to sun/heat however meant we were in line before 8am for a good view (always ended up in row 2)

Property could use some remodeling. Bathroom shower in our room was dirty and had visible mildew. Requested for it to be clean and it was never cleaned still had visible mildew. Great location and the food was good at all of the restaurants. The bartender Vanessa at Bongos was amazing! Overall would recommend.

Loved everytng about the property except the brunch on the rooftop. It was over priced and not worth the money at all. The staff was great and the food was ok, just not worth the money. On the flipside. Bongos was a perfect place for drinks and snacks and the coffee shop in the lobby was great!

Like the location , awesome view from room , upper restaurants , private beach, cabanas are included in resort fee but you have to stand in line at list 30-45 min to reserve one , i should be able reserve one at some desk or online ,social club where you can get quick coffee or drink served not the freshest bake goods all is defrost before serving,

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel has multiple dining options, we ate at spinners, the cafe, and bongos. The cafe had great coffee and good quick breakfast bites. Bongos had yummy drinks and spinners was great for a more elevated dinner date. The location is right on the beach and they have cabanas available which was fantastic. The only reason we reduced a star is just because since youre at a busy hotel with a bar there can be some rowdy guests which made some elevator rides interesting. We would definitely return, but if you’re looking for a more quiet vacation spot I’d keep that in mind.

There is 2 elevators in this hotel and the Staff could only keep 1 of them in working order throught the entire labor day weekend. The late night valet was extremely rude to my girlfriend when getting back from our night out in telling us we couldnt park in the same spot we had been parked for 2 nights. The beach access/cabanas were very nice but the overall price of everything was extremely overpriced. Spinners restaurant on top floor was very good and priced well for what you receive - the rotating views.

The beach and roof terrace/bar are amazing with the best views of the ocean and sunset. Friendly staff, easy check in and accessible parking. They need to work a little with the room cleanness and maintenance, my room -411- had some water intrusion coming from beneath the floor (but not a big deal). But overall rooms and good size and beds are comfy. The Bongos grille at the beach is very good and well-priced. The beach umbrellas or cabanas with chairs included is a plus-plus. Definitively will be coming back.

great spot... beautiful beach, plenty of chairs and space, live music in the afternoon, loved the ceiling fan and the a/c actually kept the room cool, fabulous staff... wish the breakfast option on property was better, our bathroom had an odd whistling sound all weekend and the bathroom could use some upgrades

This place is a unique old Florida gem! I enjoyed my stay and the beautiful beachfront location. Positives: room seemed recently renovated with a fun beachy decor, comfortable bed, in-room safe, USB ports. Staff was friendly. I enjoyed the yoga on the beach offering. Pool was very clean and a lovely temperature. I had an allergic reaction to the toiletries, which for me usually means the fragrance contains harmful ingredients. The top-floor rotating restaurant is a must-see, and is very popular. The dedicated restaurant elevator was out of order during my stay, which meant that the other 2 elevators were sometimes impossibly busy. I tried one meal which was inedible.
