Perfect place to stay when visiting Volcano National Park. It’s so close and far more affordable than staying at the lodge….and it has a fridge, microwave, TV, coffee…so many more amenities…next time I’ll stay longer to enjoy our zen lanai. Thank you!

Charming, quirky, secluded lodge. Clean and well-maintained. Very quiet, except for some loud frogs. I gave it 5 stars for staff & service even though I didn't see anyone--I had everything I needed and the place was well-stocked. Another plus is that it's very close to the park.

Near the volcano, which is why we picked it. Reasonable price, near the village and the volcano house. The room was large and fairly clean. The frogs kept us awake, but we got used to them. Very responsive hosts, there is no host at the lodge, but there are plenty of supplies if you run out of towels or coffee, or anything you can usually get from a hotel. The neighborhood seems safe. The store down the road had most anything you need. There’s a laundry at the true value store down the road.

We were in room 203 it was very clean and had a king and double bed. The bathroom had a large rain shower and was also very clean. The property is in a very quiet neighborhood 1 mile from Volcano National park. Easy parking. We really enjoyed staying here.

Awesome place to explore Volcanoes national park. The self check in process is very straightforward and convenient. The room is well decorated and very clean and comfortable. Great deal too.

This was a different experience in that it is a non hosted property, no one on site. However, instructions were very clear and contact info provided, but we didn’t need it. Additional supplies are available in the entry area if needed. I think we were the only ones there. It was very comfortable, good mattress, linens, fluffy towels, good water pressure in the shower. Liked the fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Nice place. Would stay there again.

A really cute little lodge, only 6 or 7 rooms each with own entrance and covered lanai. Nestled in rainforest, volcano National Park less than a mile. Have never stayed where it wS not manned. Delightful efficient experience. Will stay there again

This property was very quiet, and 5 minutes from Volcano National Park, which is why i was there. Easy self check in and out, room was one of the most amazing ive stayed in. And parking was very easy.

This property is conveniently located near the Volcanoes National Park and the little town of Volcano Village. The property was most likely last updated in the 1980’s and the carpet definitely shows that. The mattress was abhorrent and gave both my husband and I sore backs because it was so lumpy and overused. We’re not chonky out of shape people, just a really terrible mattress. The room was dusty, the carpet is filthy, there is mold growing on the walls above the vanity and all along the bottom of the shower curtain. The intake form requires a hand written credit card number with expiration date and CVV. That’s a hard no for us and a representative from Expedia recommended we not do that as well. It served our purpose, but would not stay here again and don’t understand all the rave reviews.

What a sweet little spot. We were volcano watching and did not want to have to drive back to Kona, so we spotted this place at a very reasonable price, booked it and saved ourselves the 2 hour schlep. It was clean, quiet (well except for the coqui frogs - but just had to close the window) , cozy and had a supremely comfortable bed. Best of all, it was 8 minutes from the park. I would not hesitate to stay here again on our next volcano expedition. Thanks Lokahi Lodge!

We’ve stayed in the Volcano area three times and this was the best accommodation by far. Check-in was flawless and our room was clean, large, and comfortable. The hosts have thought of everything. There was a mini-fridge with freezer and a microwave. There were also a few necessary cups, dishes, silverware and glassware. This is SO important in Volcano, as there are so few dining options. If you bring a well-stocked cooler, you could spend several days here comfortably. We would stay here again.

The bed was tough and pillows were flat. The windows on door are not blacked out enough. The location was perfect for Volcanoes NP, star gazing was awesome and that’s what we cared most about.

Rustic charm just a few minutes from volcanoes. Be aware that there is no a/c. My room had a dehumidifier that was loud and ran hot, making me think the heat was on in my room. It was also rather loud and I was grateful that it shut off around 8pm

The self-check in worked like a charm, so that despite arriving after dark, I had no problems getting to my comfortable room. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the hot water was plentiful in the shower. Probably the only thing I didn't like was the fairly slow Wi-Fi; it probably just runs at the pace of island time.

You get what you pay for. Clean but old. Totally fine for the price. No frills. Convenient location. Comfortable bed. The building needs an update. The walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors sneeze. There were exterior lights on and no blackout shades in the room so it was difficult to sleep. If you're sensitive to light - bring a sleep mask.

Incredible value for the area. Appears to be newly remodeled. Basic lodging but very clean and nice. Easy to find and close to National Park. Only thing I could recommend for improvement would be a little better mattress. Overall, exceeded expectations! Thanks!

It’s kind of like a bed and breakfast property. No manager on site, everything is self serve, and you rely on your fellow guests to ensure the place stays locked up. Power went out and because no one is on site the ac was not restored when the power came back about four hours later. Rooms are small and there is no noise insulation - you can hear everything! Bathroom sinks are oddly high. Otherwise, not bad in a pinch. Loud frogs at night.

Close to national park, restaurants are expensive in the area. Excellent communication w/ the host. We haven't checked out yet and the cleaning person didn't knock before entering our room.

Amazing stay at Lokahi lodge! Communication and directions were awesome, room was comfortable, very well decorated and clean ,everything you need is available and location is perfect to spend time in Volcano I was not sure about the self serve concept but decided to trust the great reviews and so glad we did Mahalo

The property is impeccably clean and well appointed. It is a great value and has exceeded my expectations. However, I am getting harassed by messages from the property through Expedia. Today is check in day, and I have received 5 emails and one text message, all giving me pretty much the same information. This does not include the multitude of daily messages leading up to our stay. I have used Expedia many times and this amount of messages is not normal and just too much.
The property is impeccably clean and well appointed. It is a great value and has exceeded my expectations. However, I am getting harassed by messages from the property through Expedia. Today is check in day, and I have received 5 emails and one text message, all giving me pretty much the same information. This does not include the multitude of daily messages leading up to our stay. I have used Expedia many times and this amount of messages is not normal and just too much.

We’ve stayed in the Volcano area three times and this was the best accommodation by far. Check-in was flawless and our room was clean, large, and comfortable. The hosts have thought of everything. There was a mini-fridge with freezer and a microwave. There were also a few necessary cups, dishes, silverware and glassware. This is SO important in Volcano, as there are so few dining options. If you bring a well-stocked cooler, you could spend several days here comfortably. We would stay here again.

It is a nice charming lodge an I was going to give a high rating. How service was not there at all. We came during storm and electricity went out. We were in complete dark. The place does not have generator. No one came to offer lanterns or any source of light. In the morning there was no hot water, no water at all to flush toilet. Probably in it wasn’t for power outage we would have better experience, but if the place offers lodging there should be some kind of measures to provide some comfort during emergency.

This property was very quiet, and 5 minutes from Volcano National Park, which is why i was there. Easy self check in and out, room was one of the most amazing ive stayed in. And parking was very easy.

Absolute simple check-in. Clean, comfortable and convenient. Proximity to the (very small) town of Volcano was great, and exemplary access to Kilauea Volcano was exactly what we expected and wanted.

Near the volcano, which is why we picked it. Reasonable price, near the village and the volcano house. The room was large and fairly clean. The frogs kept us awake, but we got used to them. Very responsive hosts, there is no host at the lodge, but there are plenty of supplies if you run out of towels or coffee, or anything you can usually get from a hotel. The neighborhood seems safe. The store down the road had most anything you need. There’s a laundry at the true value store down the road.

This is the perfect spot for National Park vibes. Check-in was easy. Rooms are large with everything you need. Bathroom was clean and modern. Bed was comfortable. There is no a/c but windows open and there was a fan. It is an easy walk into town where there are options for food and supplies. Short drive to the park too! We loved staying here and wished we had more time. Would recommend this to anyone who wants a simple, quiet, easy stay.

it's close to the park and quiet. No staff on-site but they respond quickly. The room has been upgraded and we really like the setting. The only thing is there is not much choices for restaurants in the area except one which is really good.

Close to national park, restaurants are expensive in the area. Excellent communication w/ the host. We haven't checked out yet and the cleaning person didn't knock before entering our room.

The room was incredibly spacious, with a king bed, vaulted ceilings, and a cozy wood stove. There was also a charming alcove with an additional full bed overlooking the garden, with windows lining the entire side of the room. The location was quiet, with beautiful birdsong in the morning and frogs chirping at night, which made for the best night’s sleep of our entire trip. The space was spotless and had the feel of a peaceful jungle lodge — exactly what we were looking for. Plus, it’s only five minutes from Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. Everything was communicated clearly well in advance, and the self check-in/check-out process was seamless.

Great location close to the Park. Room was clean and spacious. Accommodation is not staffed and we had no need to call anyone. On site parking no issues. All in all a decent place to kick back and relax.

Perfectly adequate for a night’s stay, but wouldn’t want to hang out there. Clean sheets and comfortable bed. Property and decor was dated. Very high sink in bathroom, not good for short people. Waste basket in bathroom looked dirty or stained on outside… did not want to investigate.
