Overton Motel

This was a convenient, no frills motel, affordable and accessible room. It was quiet , comfortable bed, even tho could use some updating in paint, etc but clean and everything you need was there. Would stay again. Thank you!

Not fancy kind ,of old school. Very clean wonderful mattress, cold air. Very impressive for the looks of outside not a dump its a strip motel i stayed on back side from office quiet. Cheap and convenient

The property was as-expected for a small town motel. The parking for the office was right off ofnthe road. By rhe time i pulled into the lot, i was many rooms past. When i entered the small office, i noticed that it could use a bit of cleaning. It wasn't in disrepair but needed some attention to detail. A middle eastern gentleman entered the small desk area from an adjoining room. He hardly spoke. I deciphered from 1- to 2-word sentences that he needed mu ID. He also asked for my credit card. I inquired about the restaurant that was right besude the motel but he didn't offer much. Again 1- to 2-word sentences. He didnt tell me that the room we were given was on the back side of the motel so I circled the lot then had to use the roadway to return to the office-side of the building. There is an additional set of rooms on the back side of the property. The room was as expected. I prefer that there was a standing shower. The towels and bedding were very clean. The worst I can say is the place is dated. There were no loud noises or feelings of being unsafe. Aside from the customer service aspect, it was a fine place to reat for the night. Taking into account that English isn't the proprietor's first language, i want it known that he wasn't rude - just uncomfortable.

This is an older property at the junction of 2 county (?) roads. Pluses: It's very convenient to Dale Hollow Dam and its recreation area, Also close enough to Cookvile for expanded lunch/dinner options. Minuses: It's old. Nothing terrible, but just don't expect resort or 5-star quality. Because it sits between 2 roads, ask for their quietest room. We didn't experience road noise (mid-May), bit it's possible. A bar was also being renovated on the property - when it opens this may affect sleeping

There was no one there to check you out. There was no coffee maker in the room no clean linens each day that you were there very unfriendly.

Very basic; nothing fancy at all. Couldn’t get TV to work. Quiet. Everything very clean. No carpet anywhere. goood for the price.

This is the only option in the area other than cabins or vacation homes 4x the price at least. The outside screams motel and you will judge it. But, I will be completely honest, they put us on the lower back facility I didn\'t even know existed and it was block built but separate from the main, older building. I think it was because we booked through a reputable online company. When we walked in the room was modernly new renovated. Large TV, working mini fridge and microwave. The beds were comfortable and AC and Heat worked great. Being where we were, there wasn\'t "regulars" or "residents" around like the upper area. Very quiet and with a house right there, safe. This is a motel, know that. BUT, I was very pleased, surprised and will stand behind referring people to stay here and don\'t be afraid because of pics or reviews. Read where they\'re from as most come from the "regulars" or locals who are rowdy, partying, or looking for a freebie. I had my teenage son with me and we were completely ok with the stay. Again, I\'m only vouching for the rooms I think it started at 220 and ended around 232 (only rooms stand alone on lower back part of the property). There is no coffee, amenities, breakfast or anything, but again, it\'s a motel and several local spots nearby so just plan accordingly. This is the BEST Motel I\'ve ever seen and with work I\'ve literally stayed at hundreds of hotels over 20 years. I put this as far as cleanliness and comfort just above Comfort Inn, Quality Inn.

Unfortunately we cleaned our own floor upon checking into the room. I realize it is an inexpensive option but mopping a floor is not difficult. It only worked because we were looking for an inexpensive place before fishing. If inexpensive and you can tolerate a place that isn’t 3 star it works

Very clean, definitely needs updating on outside to show it's still open for business. Support lical is why we found it on Expedia. Very comfortable beds and clean.

Add 2 bookings@ stayed the first night gound bugs in the bed, room and kitchen drawers Am trying to get a full refund from the property( minus the first night) but still waiting for their response

It would be hard for me to believe that my one single room was so far off from the norm. But everything is dirty and rundown. The air does blow, but hardly. The floors were absolutely filthy. I wore shoes the whole time. I killed several little fruit flies with round wings every day. The fixtures in the ceilings were just bulbs in empty holes.The older guy at the front office didn't speak any English. Nor did he really try. If there are clean, nice rooms at this place mine was not one. I don't know if the good reviews are bots or possibly family members. But it's hard for me to understand why this location is on this app.

All was clean and comfortable. For $65.00 a night including taxes, I thought it was a very good value for the money, pleasantly surprised. I. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

Got there and went right to bed, woke up the next day and went to take a shower and noticed there was blood on the shower curtain, boogers on the wall and dirty towels. When i unfolded the towel, 1/2 of it was brownish/yellow. I gathered my belonging and loaded them back into my car. I went to the front desk and told them that the room was disgusting and i was very displeased with the conditions of the room. When i first checked in i paid for 2 nights so i asked the gentleman at the front desk (the owner) if there was anyway i could be refunded the money for fhe second night because i was not going to be staying since it was so dirty. He refused and just kept saying "no refund" while shrugging his shoulders.

Bathroom was unsafe, room smelled , floors were dirty .

It’s too far off of I40. Very out dated and way over priced for the location and comfort level. Was unable to sleep on poor mattress. There was hair in the shower and dirty sheets on the bed.

The ac didn’t work the sinks were clogged the place smelled of mildew and the next morning we all woke up congested and sick from it.

The room was at 42 degrees when arriving. The room was booked 24 hours in advance. Someone could have turned the heat on to at least 60. There is no water pressure for a shower.

We liked that it had hard floors instead of carpeting. Loved the memory foam mattress. We had the best night’s sleep.

We have stayed here many times & haven't had a complaint till now. Room 231 needs some attention: the ac/ heater is VERY loud making it hard to sleep. Also, the outside light was the only one on that side of the building that wasn't working! It was quiet OUTSIDE but definitely NOT in the room! Otherwise, good stay, as usual.

They say they are pet friendly but we booked it and then called and we’re told they were not. Which happened to be the entire reason we booked this place. Then at checkin the lady that checked us in kepted asking my name (while holding my ID) over and over like she thought I was some type of criminal- while I’m standing there with my son… The beds in two of the three rooms our party booked were decent- but the other room was like sleeping on a board. It does look like they are upgrading beds as they go. Overall for the price I guess it wasn’t too bad- but I’m very upset with how I was treated at check in and the fact that they say pet friendly but actually aren’t. I travel all over a lot, and have never been treated that way on checkin. Had there been other options in the area I would’ve gone somewhere else.

This appears to be the only option in Livingston. The motel is old and looks old. But rooms are clean and well maintained. I would stay here again.
