Lovely place to stay. Staff were excellent. Our dinner was wonderful and the breakfast was amazing - especially the freshly baked Portuguese egg tarts. Highly recommend

Room was very spacious and bed comfortable. Suzanna on reception was very helpful on phone regarding parking (which was tricky) as well as an enthusiastic welcome when we appeared! Dinner in the restaurant was very good as was the breakfast, with a spectacular view. All in all a very pleasant stay.

We had a room w a balcony and it was great. The view was stunning. We loved the hotel. It was so convenient to walk to the castle and the museum. Only drawback was that w temps in the 90s (f) the air cond had trouble keeping pace but it was much better than nothing.

We booked this hotel through Expedia during a very hot weekend because the listing displayed photographs of a swimming pool among the property’s amenities and facilities. Upon arrival, before checking in, we discovered that the hotel does not actually have a swimming pool on site. The pool shown in the listing is a municipal pool located elsewhere. As the presence of a pool was a significant factor in our booking decision, we raised the issue immediately and requested a refund. We never checked in, never occupied the room, and did not use any hotel services or facilities. The refund request was denied. The manager explained that the hotel description does not explicitly state that there is a pool, but in our view the way the pool photographs were presented on the Expedia listing created a reasonable expectation that the hotel itself had one. What was most disappointing was that after we provided evidence and attempted to continue the discussion, communication simply stopped. We were charged despite not staying there and sought accommodations elsewhere.
