Had a wonderful stay at this hotel - the welcome from the team was personal and lovely, especially as I was travelling solo. I stayed in an Old Quarter Suite and it was perfect. Being in the heart of the Old Quarter the rooms are bijoux but still lovely and my room was at the back so overlooked other buildings but this made it quiet at night. The pool area is tiny but fine for a quick cool off on a hot day. Breakfast is great. The massage at the spa one of the best I’ve ever had. All in all great value, good location and lovely team.

Being in the heart of the Old Quarter the rooms are bijoux but still lovely and my room was at the back so overlooked other buildings but this made it quiet at night. The pool area is tiny but fine for a quick cool off on a hot day. Breakfast is great. The massage at the spa one of the best I’ve ever had. All in all great value, good location and lovely team.

The Meritel Hanoi is one of the best hotels we have had the pleasure of staying in. The common areas and rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the bed and pillows were wonderful. The food is very good and the rooftop pool and bar are hard to leave. The best and most memorable part of our stay at the Meritel Hanoi was how well we were treated by the entire staff. I have traveled globally and stayed in many nice hotels over the years and have to say the staff at the Meritel Hanoi is the friendliest, most helpful and professional hotel staff I have experienced. Our host who checked us in and assisted us throughout our stay was so personable, genuine, helpful and kind. Ami made us feel veryspecial. Our next trip to Hanoi will definitely be at the Meritel Hanoi. Thanks to the entire staff.

A superb hotel. Katy and all staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Beautiful room. Rooftop bar was lovely. Room service was delicious and prompt. Day spa was beautiful and my massage and facial was excellent. Highly recommend this oasis in the middle of the bustling city

Excellent hotel, the staff could not have been friendlier and more accommodating. The hotel is really very nicely appointed and the rooms are high quality and very clean. The rooftop pool is great, only comment is that the drinks are really quite expensive up there in comparison to other places so we spent more time outside the hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel though, the staff make the experience.

Obwohl das Hotel direkt im Old Quarter liegt, war unser Zimmer sehr ruhig. Das Zimmer war sehr klein und trotz Fenster war es doch etwas dunkel. Die Sauberkeit war aber absolut vorbildlich. Das Personal ist extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit, fast ein wenig zuviel des Guten. Das Frühstücksbuffett war sehr ordentlich und ausreichend.

Lovely property, does have tiny bugs everywhere. Not sure if they were the source of our bites or not. But beware of the ‘Family Suite’ scam. They oversell those desirable rooms then spin a line when you arrive about a ‘family with a sick child who had to extend in your room’ and then offer you measly vouchers for their expensive food and beverage in exchange. We believed them at first, until we met other families who were told the same. It really does affect your holiday when your family is separated and your kids are in a separate room up the hall. Only book if you are OK with individual rooms. Great location.

We were initially enamored with the lobby and waiting area, only to be disappointed by the rest of the hotel. Bath towels were frayed, no one came to clean the rooms despite our request the second day, and worse of all, there was a gross puddle of yellow liquid (urine?) in the elevator for a few hours another night. We also tried booking a tour through the hotel and was initially encouraged to pay cash and “go under the table” with one of the employees. We ended up booking at the front desk only to be shaken down for more money after we had already gone on the tour bc “they had quoted the wrong price.” Extremely unprofessional, and left a terrible taste in our mouth. We were trying to avoid booking scams by going through the hotel only to find out that apparently that’s not safe either. Do better, Meritel.

Good hotel overall for our first trip to Hanoi. However, not 5 stars by western standards, funky smell in room which other reviews note, smells damp or mildly. In comparison, some other people we met on our trip had similar or better quality/smelling rooms at hotels marked 3 and 4 star for less than half the price. Also: Everything in this hotel such as food/drink/massage/side trips is very high priced compared to options just outside the front door on the same street.

The service is amazing the people made up for everything that happened before. And tried so much to make our stay amazing. The room on the other hand is not the best there are curtains in one of the windows and we were next to a karaoke and it was very loud. Another great stay in Hanoi. The rooms are a little small, but I think that is typical in the old quarter of Hanoi. What matters most is beds are comfortable, rooms are nice and clean and service is great. A special thanks to Alex for his wonderful service throughout our stay.

I have traveled globally and stayed in many nice hotels over the years and have to say the staff at the Meritel Hanoi is the friendliest, most helpful and professional hotel staff I have experienced. Our host who checked us in and assisted us throughout our stay was so personable, genuine, helpful and kind. Ami made us feel veryspecial. Our next trip to Hanoi will definitely be at the Meritel Hanoi. Thanks to the entire staff.

This is one of the best boutique hotels I have ever stayed. The hotel is of beautiful French colonial style and in the heart of old town, very convenient to go anywhere with lots of good restaurants within walking distance. The staff is friendly and very helpful. When you check in, you literally go through a whole orientation of the hotel and neighborhood. They really treat you like royalties, the level that you don’t often even get from the five star international brands. Highly recommend this hotel. Will definitely come back and stay here. Also, highly recommend using the hotel arranged airport car service. It saves you a lot of time and hassle.

The staff went out of their way to make sure my stay was exceptional. Jelly and Judy were very kind, informative and friendly throughout my stay! Very convenient location in the Old Quarter as well. The room was comfortable and kept very clean. I would stay there again.

Staff went above and beyond to accommodate our anniversary during the stay and even surprised me with a birthday surprise during our stay. Would 100% come back and recommend this to anyone visiting. Location is great and the hotel and spa were top quality as well.

Aussie Traveller Review 🇦🇺 – Loved Our Stay! We’ve just returned from two weeks in Vietnam and absolutely loved this hotel. What you see in the photos is exactly what you get, clean, modern, and beautifully maintained. Unlike other hotels we researched, people complained the hotels were nothing like their photos. The service was outstanding. Judy, our lovely host, organised our Halong Bay tour and marked out local spots on a map like ATMs, markets, and Beer Street. The staff added us to "WhatsApp", which made it super easy to confirm tours and make requests during our stay, so handy! Our room had daily turndown service, fresh sheets every two days, great aircon, and was blissfully quiet despite being in a busy area. Some hallway noise from doors or the cleaners’ cupboard is normal, but it didn’t bother us at all. The rooftop bar and pool are quaint, and the gym was a bonus, fully air-conditioned with great equipment (my husband loved the squat rack!). Location is spot on: 5 mins walk to Train Street 10 mins walk to the Cathedral 15 mins walk to Beer Street and Old Hanoi Night Markets "Grab" is a must have app for transport or food delivery, it's reliable and easy to use. This is a beautiful boutique hotel in the Old Quarter. Great location, wonderful hospitality and lovely and comfortable rooms. The staff are all superb - special mention to Anh who checked in on us throughout our stay and was ready with local recommendations, and Tiana who arranged a thoughtful anniversary gift and a lovely note to welcome us back on our second visit. The service from all staff was excellent. Helped with getting sim card for phone. Assisted with where best to change money, tours etc. Front desk, dining room staff, room service, bar staff and pool attendant all helpful. Would definitely stay here again. The staff set the property apart from other places we stayed in Vietnam.

The Meritel Hanoi is one of the best hotels we have had the pleasure of staying in. The common areas and rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the bed and pillows were wonderful. Excellent hotel, the staff could not have been friendlier and more accommodating. The hotel is really very nicely appointed and the rooms are high quality and very clean. The rooftop pool is great, only comment is that the drinks are really quite expensive up there in comparison to other places so we spent more time outside the hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel though, the staff make the experience.

Great location in heart of the Old Quarter. All you need in easy walking distance, Train Street, Sports Bar, shopping, the Lake. Very good facilities, eg roof top bar & pool, great dining facility & excellent & inexpensive breakfast with plenty of choices. Staff very efficient, friendly helpful & easy check-in/ out excellent value for money

Great central location in old quarter, a few minute walk to train street, all tours pick up from the hotel. What really makes it special are the staff who were super helpful. Special mention goes to Mike who we relied on a lot for help and information throughout our stay.

Great hotel, and friendly staff, who spoke very good English. We stayed in the Old Quarter suite and it was perfect. Great size and beautifully presented. So much to do around the hotel with lots of eateries and shopping. The restaurant at the Meritel, May Tre Dan was very nice. The food was very good.

This was our first trip to Hanoi and Meritel Hanoi exceeded our expectations. From constant communications by the reservation desk to any request during our stay. The location is ideal in Old Quarter walking distance to all attractions. The breakfast buffet is amazing with traditional dishes such as pho, spring rolls and bah mi. I choose this hotel because it was new and had Indochina decor, which was beautiful. The room we had was on the 7th floor, so high enough from the traffic noice, and had a balcony (Meritel Suite). Note - not all rooms have a window. They even spoilt us on our wedding anniversary. Worth the stay!

We were greeted immediately in getting out of the taxi!!! The staff were all so friendly and helpful, providing lots of local information and support offered at the hotel. The rooms and other areas were clean and so glamorous!! The food was very good and well priced. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The service from the staff was amazing and the location is wonderful. Judy on reception is fantastic and a credit to Meritel Hotel. Really pleased I stayed here. The only thing I would suggest is to increase the vegetarian options and if possible add some halal meat options.

The staff are all so nice, Thomas left a note welcoming me back as I had stated previously before travelling to China, welcoming me back with a welcome gift. Phoebe organised me a taxi from the airport, my plane was delayed but she checked in with me, giving me clear directions so that I could find the driver and welcoming me when I got back to the hotel. The room was very clean and comfy, it is very central to walk to sight seeing places in Hanoi. They helped store my luggage too at the hotel after I had checked out. Highly recommended.
