Wow! Such a nice place. Gorgeous setting. Good location for heading to Davis Mountains State Park, Big Bend, or hanging around Alpine. We loved it. Can’t wait to come back.

The property was great. If you want to unwind and get away and off the grid, this is the place. I was worried about not having a tv, but it was not an issue. If the family wanted technology, they just used their devices. The beds were all very comfortable. A/C and heaters worked perfectly. Only complaint was we had the wrong WiFi password (which has been fixed) and could not communicate when trying to enter the property. We had difficulty using the code on the keypad and could not reach anyone until driving back down off the property to get a signal. It didn’t take long to fix though. Host was very responsive! Highly recommend!

The property was so interesting…decorated with an eclectic flair. It was perfectly laid out for our needs - two senior couples. The owner was accessible when needed. Due to time restraints we didn’t get to use the fire pit or the screened in porch to drink coffee and watch the sunset. We’re already planning another road trip with a stop at this property in the future.

Stayed 3 nights

The night before arriving here we stayed in a Terlingua Bubble and got *miserable* sleep from a room with no ventilation. The temperature didn't change much from Terlingua to Alpine, but we were amazed that two wall unit ACs, and a good series of ceiling fans, cooled and ventilated this house as well as could be expected without central air. Having skepticism turned around within a few hours is a great way to begin a stay. Great amenities. Not just a hand-me-down Hall of Fame rental property, my biggest gripe with Vrbo properties. Tons of windows, which is great through the day, especially given the surrounding scenery. If I could improve this place I'd have light-canceling blinds for the windows in the bedrooms. The master bed is listed as a queen, but my wife and I guessed that it could be a full, sleeping was full of more kicks and elbows than we wanted. The room is big enough to fit a king (minus a bed stand). We have two teenage kids so two twin beds on the other side of the house made this ideal for our family. Love the OCD photos inside the cabinets to show how everything goes back in its proper place. Some of us can appreciate that. The next time an OCD urge strikes, I'd do a re-labeling of the switches for the lights and fans. Even till the last morning we were still flipping every switch we saw guessing at what it turned on or off. Great WiFi, great modern refrigerator and stove. Given the opportunity to come back to this area we'd definitely stay here again.
