Great breakfast, nice clean room..even had a Nespresso machine, great proximity to restaurants and canal park. Would stay here again. Only complaint was floors around the pool and in the pool were scummy and dirty. Loved the two hot tubs and sauna though.

Very nice property. The pool was out of service so had to rate facilities as Average. Main floor was nice. There is a place to sit in back area near fire place that was good for playing games. Room heater was Very loud, likely needed service

We had a great 1 night stay. We were in canal Park for a comedy show so we were happy to find a place that wasn't too far of a walk. A little fancier than we're used to, but that was great. Would love to experience it with warmer weather and a functioning pool and hot tub.

Room was clean and spacious - we had an executive king room and our daughters loved the pull out. Definitely enough room for 4. The only down side is that the pool is down for maintenance right now and we were looking forward to using it. There was nothing that said anywhere that their pool would be down.

The location of hotel in Canal Park is perfect for walking the boardwalk, and close to everything! We loved the morning breakfast. Staff were super friendly. 2 hot tubs!

A great place to stay as always. The only thing that keeps it from a 5 star review this time is that they were resurfacing the parking lot during my stay. Since parking is already a challenge in Canal Park it was a crap shoot to whether you would find a place to park if you needed to leave as only half the parking lay was available during the resurfacing. While it’s not the end of the world, I would have appreciated being told that the resurfacing was occurring when booking and I wasn’t.

Very clean in all areas.Friendly staff was continually cleaning and restocking an excellent free breakfast in the AM. Patio was great for coffee and people watching. Pool/hot tub open late very appreciated. Free papers, coffee, water, and Nespresso pods in room also very nice!

Very clean room, friendly welcome from staff, clean pool area, great parking, we didn’t sit for breakfast - we had coffee & fruit and checked out. But the area was popular, clean, bright and looked good.

Hair on the bathtub surround, bottom half of the toilet dirty, dusty bathroom and a dirt Band-Aid on the chair (on the balcony) and the most uncomfortable beds. this is coming from a former housekeeper (not this hotel) and reoccurring guest, I know they have done better.

I’ve stayed at this hotel several times and have always had a pleasant experience, which is why I’ve recommended it to many others (despite the room rates and charges, that can be quite expensive). Unfortunately, my most recent visit (Room 254 on 11/10/25) was quite different. Upon arrival, I noticed that the room did not appear properly cleaned (like usual)— the floors looked unvacuumed, there was hair in the shower and other parts of the bathroom from other guests, and the towels were not folded neatly but rather placed haphazardly. Additionally, the couch was very dirty under the cushions and beneath it. The bed also made a lot of noise and was extremely uncomfortable, as if it might be broken. Shortly after midnight, I informed the front desk about the bathroom and the bed issues. They kindly offered to move us to another room, but due to our health conditions, we weren’t able to relocate that late at night. The staff mentioned that we might be eligible for a credit/refund or some form of compensation toward a future stay and advised me to speak with the manager. Unfortunately, when I checked out this morning, the manager was unavailable, and I haven’t been able to reach them yet due to my work schedule. I would appreciate it if someone could please follow up regarding this matter. I truly value this hotel and hope to continue staying here in the future. Thank you for your time and understanding.

My room smelled bad. I finally figured out it was the shower curtain that apparently never gets washed. There was also hardly any toilet paper in the room. We ran out late in the evening and couldn’t get more without waking the others in the room. The worst part was that the alarm clock went off at 6:15 am, while the clock was unplugged! Overall not a good experience especially for the high price of the room. Very disappointed.

Bed has poop stain on sheets. Employees very noisy in morning, rooms you c an hear your neighbors noise very much.Breakfast is ok.

Location is great with Beautiful view, but other than that there is no difference between this hotel and a motel in terms of cleanliness and the lack of hospitality I was really surprised we expected much better considering the high cost of booking per night, I have stayed in all of the 4 hotels on this strip this one by far gets he lowest marks unfortunately! hopefully they will work on getting better there is no reason to have dusty surfaces dirty floors stained carpet stained bed sheets and slow shower drain! all of these are easily manageable.

Location is great. A little loud. Ridiculous that there is NO WHERE to hang a towel. How hard is it to put up some hooks? Breakfast is very good.

We had a nice stay at the Lift Bridge Lodge; the outdoor patio is lovely and there was a nice breakfast. The lodge is in a perfect location for enjoying the Canal Street area and there was adequate parking. The room is on the small size so families with children should expect to be cozy. It is also a challenge to bring in luggage because the ramp is long. Regardless, this is a good place to stay overall.

Nice size room. Comfy bed. Nice bathroom layout with plenty of towels and bath products. Breakfast was hotel breakfast. Hot tub was nice and clean. Parking is easy. We had a great view of boats entering and exiting the harbor. Only complaint would be lack of soundproofing and the herd of elephants above us.

Our room was very clean and ready for us. The bed was comfortable and the sitting area was inviting. The ice-water in the lobby was a very welcome offering, and we filled our bottles daily! While we appreciate the "housekeeping on demand" approach taken, this was confounded by the fact that there are no towel racks in the bathroom. This makes it hard to go without service for more than a day.

Amazing location right next to restaurants and shopping. Only a 2 minute walk to the lift bridge. We stayed on the water side and the views of the sunrise were amazing! I wish the bathroom had been a little cleaner but I am a very detailed person when it comes to cleanliness. Rooms were quiet and the bed was very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

It was impossible to pull the blankets up around your shoulders. And the HVAC unit was falling apart. The shower water pressure was weak.

Large, clean, quiet room qith great view, walking distance to everything of interest down bu the lake.

The noise. The walls had absolutely no sound deadening and I could hear a whisper from the room next door. Further, there was some tween girls group there and these girls were running around the hallways yelling and singing and stomping their feet, slamming doors. The hotel didn't bother to put me in a room far from this group but right in the midst of it. I left a night early because it was so bad and they didn't even offer to give me a credit on my account for not staying a second night or anything. The front desk attendance just said, "We'll check you out, have a good night." In 30 years of staying in hotels for business or pleasure, this was the single loudest and noisiest hotel I have ever tried to stay at. I would never recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful respite on Lake Superior.

We were stuck with room 124. Don't ever stay in this the room. The environmental and ambient noise from the hallway, breakfast area, and floor above is insane. If you're a light sleeper, good luck.

We absolutely loved this place and will make it our go-to spot when in Duluth. From the location, to the facility/amenities (great pool for kids!), to the delicious free breakfast-10/10 recommend. My only complaint is the cleaning staff is was pretty pushy in the morning. They were lingering outside our door 30min before checkout and it made us feel rushed.

Staff was very helpful. They called us after we checked out to let us know that my husband forgot his Apple Watch and charger. We appreciated them calling us right aways. We were happy with our stay.

The room I had booked smelled really gross when we arrived. . And the rude receptionist we told about it did nothing to help and raised her voice at us . Ended up changing our suite for a standard room. That turned out only ok . Had hair in the tub and had not been vacuumed well . The manager was kind took $50 off our bill and understood why we canceled our second night. Won’t be back unfortunately.

Was one of the best getaways! Back patio was perfect for coffee by the lake in the mornings, and shopping/dining are within walking distance. Staff was excellent! Expedia messed up our reservations and the staff did everything to accommodate us during a busy season.

When we checked out in the morning we found out that our car and atleast two others had been broken into and rifled. Our car was parked directly in front of the main doors. They told us a police officer would review the CCTV and see if anything could be seen. We have not heard from the hotel nor the police. It is very disappointing that the hotel has made no attempt to contact us and update us on this situation. The feeling I got was that they felt like “oh well, too bad.”

The property is great, great location, very clean and the staff is very friendly. The breakfast staff is wonderful! My only complaint is that ive twice now had issues with my room reservation. The last two times I've booked lakeside rooms through Expedia and have arrived to receive rooms facing the parking lot. The hotel is always full and I'm told they are sorry but there is nothing they can do. The last time we stayed it was for a very special anniversary and we were extremely disappointed with the cramped, city side room when we expected/booked an expensivelakeside suite. This time for our second night they were able to find us a lakeside room but we had to move everything. Because I booked through Expedia I was told they couldn't offer me a discount even though I had paid the upcharge for a lakeside room. I strongly recommend the hotel, but if you want a specific room you better book through their site...

The hotel front desk was able to accommodate all of our requests and made the trip very special.

The hotel’s location was unbeatable in the area, surrounded by numerous dining options and situated close to the Aquarium Museum and the scenic lake wall. The guest was delighted with the convenient access to quality food, the prime setting, and the exceptional service provided.

Excellent location for seeing ships come and go under the lift bridge and for the gift shops by the pier.

Hotel is right next to the boardwalk, close to the two light houses , and bridge lift.

The only big complaint we have is the scraping of the chairs on the floor of the breakfast area…it went on till 10:30 and started up again 5:30 in the morning. Why can’t you do something about that… It ruined our 5 stars rating for you because everything else is super!!

Nice place in an area that's scenic but a bit crowded with people and other hotels. Lots of sometimes noisy children. Breakfast had plenty of variety but no fruit. Good for families -- not so much for couples in my opinion.

Loved the location and things close by. Staff was very helpful. One request that breakfast staff change gloves between cleaning tables and touching food or putting out new silverware.

Parking lot was nice. Never really needed to search or loop around multiple times for a parking spot. Dining area was spacious and opens out to the backyard, showing Lake Superior. Breakfast was great and they have a 24/7 coffee machine. The rooms were spacious and ours had a walk in shower. Great place to stay!

Great breakfast with a lot of variety. Area around it is walkable with shops and restaurants. Cool vibe. Hotel is a bit dated but decently clean. Carpets would benefit from being shampoo’d. Close to downtown. Take the scenic drive up the coast and check out Grand Marais.

Always a perfect place to stay while visiting canal park and the Duluth area. We’ve been here 3-4 times over the years and we love it! Wonderful breakfast!
