Gold Beach Inn

The property is old and you can hear a lot of your neighbors walking about plus the hot tubs were out of service. However the service was extremely friendly and welcoming, the rooms and grounds were very clean and you cannot beat the view from one of the private balconies. Not to mention being able to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean! Access to the beach meant the only reason to leave the property for the 3 days I stayed was to feed! Will stay again!

The property has two sections, we were closest to the road and we slept great but the early morning truck traffic woke us up with having our windows open. No air conditioning in the room however the time of year we were fine with the windows being left open. The hot tubs were great although only one of the three were running. Staff was friendly. Very close and easy beach access. Our room was clean and comfortable.

This place had beautiful views with newly renovated rooms. One of the reasons we booked this particular hotel is because it was advertised with ocean front hot tubs. This was false advertising, there was only one available/working hot tub and it was luke warm. So if your expecting a soak on the Oregon coast you’ll be disappointed.

Instead of hearing the roar of waves we got the roar of traffic. We were given a room over the office that didn’t face the beachfront. Jacuzzi inop. Old building in need of renovation unless it was the area we got because there were other units that had ocean front views and appeared renovated. I’m disappointed with Expedia because I feel that the pictures are deceptive. The breakfast was a plus , mostly continental. It was rated a 7.0 but I’m not sure on what scale.

We booked this place for the hot tubs. They show hot tubs in all the picture collections. We get there and the hot tubs are not in use anymore. State requirements have made the hot tubs something they can’t keep going. Very disappointed in that as it was what we were looking forward to. The rooms were also not maintained well, dust and cob webs in the corners, outlets not working, etc. The staff was good and the proximity to the ocean was nice, just not a 5 star experience.

Beautiful balcony view (with upgrade to room) with nice hot tubs (only 1 was operating) and comfy bed. Rooms were upgraded so outside is deceiving. It looks run down but is not. It was a great gem and we would definitely stay again!

Very convenient, yet quiet location. Continental breakfast was very minimal, and I was very disappointed that the hot tub was closed. But everything else was excellent.

The got tubs where broken. The ice mashines didnt work. I was told 3pm check in but at the desk told 4 pm so had to wait over two hours for our room to be cleaned. Got in room and it was still dirty. Trash swept under the table.

Room was clean and comfortable. Nice little walk to the beach. Outside of building and spa area needs upgrades. Ice machines did not work.

Our hotel room was infested with sugar ants. We had pizza the night before & when we woke up in the morning the entire pizza box, counter & walls were COVERED in ants. Plug in bathtub was broken. Don’t let the picture of the hot tub fool you it was filthy & the water wasn’t even warm at all. Would not stay again.

This place was filthy! We changed rooms twice. The first room was like a dungeon. We went to the front desk. We paid for an upgrade to an ocean view. When we got to that room, we always pull the sheets back to look for bedbugs; luckily, there were none, but the mattress cover had no cover on it. There were some blood stains on the duvet, which also had no cover. There was hair on the cloth chairs, the portable fan, and the floor was not vacuumed and had large stains. The bathroom toilet had eggshells in it, and the toilet paper and mirror were dirty. The pillow was stained; everything that was supposed to be white had a gray look to it. We called the front desk again. She removed the cost of the upgrade and then said, "I will put you in our suite with a king bed and fireplace." The stairs were leaning; let's just say it was a shady walk to get to the room, and the balcony was not any better. The microwave stunk, and there was splashed liquid on the walls that was not cleaned.Mold in the sliding door that we had to use 2 hands just to open! We stopped looking at this point. We checked the bed and went to sleep. There was nowhere else to stay; everything was booked! The bed was comfortable. The next morning, we spoke with another guest, and they had the same experience. Breakfast was hard biscuits with gravy; we had to ask them to refill things there also. The coffee was good; we settled for that.

Cottages are quite dated and smelled. Dirty wash cloth left on shower curtain rod.

The towels were gray (and supposed to white, i guess?). The pillowcases were also gray. The shower curtain rod was rusty. Would not recommend staying here.

Property was very clean. We had a wonderful time!!

The location is amazing, but the room was very tired and the shower was filled with long black hair and sand.

Great location for exploring the coast. My room interior was very clean, comfy & recently remodeled. The exterior of the buildings are not as nice as the interior, to be expected with coastal weather. Staff were very nice. Breakfast was just ok.

The room smelled of mold and felt unclean

Our stay was good overall. There were just a few things I wish were different! The pillows were very old and flat and there was pink mold in the grout on the shower wall. Our door wasn’t sealed properly so the wind kept howling from underneath it and shaking the door.

Great place if you just need somewhere to stay for a night or 2. Has beach access, clean rooms, friendly service, breakfast included. The only downside was no AC.

My thoughts are split, I think we drew the short straw on who got the update rooms or not. We reserved the "room 2 queen beds" and I don't think there's a way to tell if you're getting ocean front or above the front desk, so just a warning. We were above the front desk; room is very basic/dated, the room windows look out to a hallway, not bright and airy like the pictures show. The window is single pane glass and the walls are so thin, so you hear all your neighbors walking by and worse if they are loud. Really, fine for one night, but not at all what I was expecting to walk in to. Great little outdoor space with I think 3 hot tubs. I can imagine it's a great spot in the summer time. Only one hot tub was running and no towels out so my husband had to get our room towels, probably due to the season, but it was clean, warm, and outside which was very nice.

Everything was good, however because the temperature outside was high the room was very warm with no air conditioner. There was a fan that helped a bit, but sleeping was still uncomfortable.

The building was being painted and all the windows were sealed with plastic on the outside. So no ventilation and no air conditioning resulted in a hot stuffy room.

The staff was friendly and the breakfast was great. Location is amazing, just a 2min walk yo the beach and it was very private. Maybe I didn’t read the description correctly but there was no AC and there was a time that it would have been nice to have.

The ocean facing rooms are great. Make sure that is what you are booked into as our first night we were overlooking the parking lot.

No air conditioning says ocen view on website very deceiving no ocean view ...I would not stay again..The room itself was updated and nice however it was very hot in the room and we didn't even see the ocean

Wifi did not work for me. No a/c. Decent looking rooms. stayed one night. Will not stay again.

Got to the property around 6:30 to check in, got to the office and it was closed. Rang the bell on the office door, called them multiple times, no answer. Contacted Expedia and they tried to contact the property multiple times with no response. Ended up getting a refund and going to Jot’s Resort instead, and very happy we did.

Check in was uninviting and gave vague advice which got us lost for dinner. I don't think she liked us for whatever reason. Everything was ok for what we paid. Plain room

I had very poor customer service. The TV didn’t work in my room nor did the internet. I asked for someone to come look at it, and no one ever came to try and solve the problem. Several hours went by and I let the front desk know for the second time. The young man at the desk, just shrugged his shoulders. I asked for another room and they couldn’t do that either. I left early because I needed the internet for work.

Check in was complicated. For an office that is open from 7:30am to 9:30 pm, when we arrived at 7:25 pm the office door was locked. After I called the after hours number someone came to the door who was not happy to be doing her job. She stated that she was on lunch and complained the time of check in that they only ever have one person to work at a time. Now 4 days after checking out my account was charged twice and when I called the desk to clear it up again I was greeted with a less than friendly response and unwilling to help resolve the problem. We will not be staying at gold beach again nor will we recommend it.

Awesome staff, nice room

The girls who checked us in were rude, tried to put us in a room that had no ocean view, even though my booking said ocean view. When I pointed this out showing them my booking confirmation, they said well it’s through hotel.com so …. I asked what does that mean. They told us next time go directly through them if we want a good room. I will never stay there again because of we were treated

Not sure the reason for so may bad reviews. I thought they we're great. They accommodated my late arrival when I called ahead. I had no trouble getting into my room and settled. They Welcomed our two dogs and had a nice area for us to take our dogs and supplied bags for potty pickups. The access to the beach was awesome. The room was clean,the staff was helpful and the breakfasts were quite good for a continental breakfast. Everything about our stay was great I will be back

We had an excellent time at the gold beach in. The staff was absolutely so nice, they have menus for different restaurants nearby that we did go to. It was a clean room, it’s right on the beach front so we were able to spend so much time at the beach. More than we were able to even at nicer places because of the easy access. The only thing I will see if they do provide you a standing fan, but there is no air conditioner in the room. We went when it was about 86° outside and it was hot but it wasn’t too hot to sleep. And with the access to the beach it honestly is worth it! The staff really made the trip and the loudest late check out and I had an excellent time. We will definitely be back and I would recommend it. I did trouble with two children and it was very very easy to stay there and enjoy our time.

Had a great stay in the “Lighthouse Condo” with our kids. It was much bigger than expected with a close trail straight out to the beach. Loved the view of the ocean from the kitchen and living room windows. A lot of little gift shops and places to eat within walking distance. Port Hole Cafe on the other side of town was our favorite place for lunch. The gift shop Flowers by the Sea has AMAZING homemade fudge. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is located near the beach. There is easy access to the beach. You often see people looking for gold on the beach. It is an easy walk to nearby shopping and dining. My room was located above the lobby in a building that was away from the beach. My view of the beach was very limited. Next time I will request a room in the main building, near the beach. My room was above the breakfast room. So that was handy.

The property was very pet friendly, my dogs loved staying here! Loved the location!! Very short walk to the beach was easy and enjoyable. Very clean and comfortable room. I would recommend this hotel and plan to stay again.

Rooms were very clean and comfortable, lady that checked me in was not very friendly but the lady that checked me out was very pleasant. Breakfast was very skimpy and very little choices could use some improvement there. sausage was like eating hard cardboard. other than breakfast I highly recommend this facility

The refurb was great, rooms were really great and bathrooms as well. Shame not closer to restaurant's as had to drive. Both days the breakfast was poorly stocked and really needs someone to keep an eye on it regularly rather than waiting for customers to ask!!!

Changing plans required last minute online search, found Gold Beach Inn had vacancy, perfect room for our party of 3 adults, and SURPRISE include a pretty good hot breakfast included in the price.

We experience a very joyful two days staying at the lodges would definitely recommend friends and come check them out. Morning buffet very good it was biscuits gravy yogurt bread and bagels delicious

The staff was wonderful. The room was clean and very comfortable. Easy acess to the beach, and great veiws. The continental breakfast could have been a bit better with maybe eggs and a waffle maker. Overall a great place.

We had a very nice room in the building with the office. No view, but modern room with super convenient parking. Nice breakfast and friendly staff.

The worst stop during our road trip. Out of the 3 Spa available, only one was in service for all the guests. It was practically impossible to use it. Although the efforts to upgrade or renovate the property are visible, our room had issues with the bathroom door, we struggle to open and close the door. The area of the room with no carpet was very sticky, which means it was not clean. The breakfast area was very stingy and the food not very good. This property has a lot of room for improvement.
