Thames Riviera Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

No lifts a lot of stairs when carrying cases up and down. Night staff guy was brilliant when we had to check out early. Arranged to have coffee and toast at 4am but told by morning receptionist no ! But the night shift guy stepped in and sorted us.

A real genuine surprise don’t let the look from outside deceive, all the staff are excellent and I spoke to at least x6 including the guy who booked us in, stayed in room 411 in the outside block would highly recommend as you’ve a balcony overlooking the river, good drink selection and outside patio again overlooking the river it was superb as was the dinner we had on Sunday around 9pm delicious chef Ken Kiev well done, and breakfast again really good quality food, everyone oh also parking was a breeze great location right near everything from walks to girding boats to pubs and restaurants The hotel in my opinion should be at least 4stars

The hotel staff were friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. A/c worked good. Breakfast was good. Currently 12.50. The only downside was the hotel has no lift. I would stay there again.

Hotel has a strange heating system which is a aircon/heat unit in the bedrooms. On arrival we wanted to turn heat up in our room but the control panel was in German. One of the staff sorted this out for us, they apparently have a lot of Germans staying. The aircon/heat unit was positioned near the bed, so although we had hot air coming out there was a draft blowing all over the bed. If you suffer from arthritis the draft is guaranteed to aggravate your condition. One small tube of shower gel for two people to shower, not enough. Tea /coffee making facilities in the room but only two sachets milk, not enough unless you drink really strong tea, the packets of biscuits was nice gesture. Apparently you can ask for more shower gel, milk etc but you shouldn’t have to there should be enough. The bed was very comfortable and a nice spacious bathroom. They have a bar but the decor is very 70s dark and lacking atmosphere. Breakfast was not good soggy cold scrambled eggs, cold bacon. They seem to have a thing about doors being open all the time. The door by our room was open in order to take dirty laundry out when we arrived and first thing in the morning as we went to breakfast. Also the bar restaurant area had both doors wide open in November. Free on site car parking was a bonus. It’s about a 20 minute walk into town although there is a Restaurant, pub and takeaway a bit nearer. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Very clean tidy & quiet, only problem our room d balcony looked out to the Thames but the side window looked out to the car park no net curtain so had to shut the curtains permanently. They now charge £3.50 per day for car parking.

Very tired hotel limited breakfast NO LIFT and if your in the 3rd floor with cases Bon Chance!

A nice, independent hotel. Air-conditioning in the room was great. Lovely bar with a deck on the river. A solid choice if you’re staying in Maidenhead.

Positive: the manager was really good he went out of his way to get ice several times for my husband`s bad leg. Neg: Reception wasn`t brillant we are in our eighties luckily very fit, no help with our luggage (no lift) after dragging it up several flights of stairs the room card didn`t work. Pos: The view of the river Thames from our room was beautiful.

Beautiful property right on the river. Quaint restaurant. The only problem was that the shower didn’t work and tub bath was only option. The staff and restaurant was very nice.

Bed very comfy. Lunch okay. Did not have Bfast, but looked good. Only steep stairs to reach 2nd floor, hard with luggage, did receive help from receptionist. Needs refrigerator in rooms, would be nice to have an exercise room also.

Lovely location on the river, bar was fab and the seating on the river excellent. Room accross in the lodge was clean enough but clearly a problem with the plumbing, the smell was Instantly noticeable when entering the room.

The hotel is next to a busy road that connects Maidenhead to Slough. Although the bridge, river and Maidenhead rowing club are pleasant to look at. If you cross the road and walk by the river there is a children’s play park and a cabin which serves food all day. Across from there Boulders lock. The hotel has changed the grass garden to a slabbed patio. One side looks onto parking lot. Could do with putting some potted trees or greenery to hide. I stayed in an executive room that was a good sized room, nicely decorated. The website states dressing gown and slippers in the room. There was none and when I checked at reception they told me they have never provided these and would remove from site. Bathroom looked clean but on closer examination the floor wasn’t clean and there were yellow stains on the outside of toilet. There were only 2 teabags and 4 milks for a 2 night stay. At reception I asked for more and they handed them to me there and then. Which was fine but offering to have them put in the room is good customer service. The small touches make a difference. I wasn’t asked if I would like breakfast in the morning That said when I ordered a coffee at the bar the barman bought it out to me on the patio. Food was fine but don’t expect gourmet. It was ample, filling and timely. A little inconsistency on customer service but overall nice pleasant staff. A big minus, no elevator. If you struggle with stairs or are in a wheelchair do not book this hotel.

The floors had dark stains in the bathroom the carpets felt they had never been hoovered the kettles in a really bad state of lime scale showing outside the kettle and inside . The receptionists was great but not his fault . It’s was a horrible dirty stay

Great location, but obviously struggling and not up to standard for a Best Western: floors not clean throughout; bedroom floor needed a good hoover; celing over bed was thick with dirty cobwebs, and this was their best executive room; bathroom looked nice but floor was not clean and window was dirty; in the morning there was no hot water for a shower. And l let both taps run for several minutes and water remained stone cold. Told the man at the desk, all he said was he'd look into it.. a bit late for me as l was dressed and had to get on with my day. He did not offer an apology or any refund or a free breakfast. Breakfast room was dirty and lack lustre. Food was very basic and everything looked dirty and uncared for. Occurred to me that they probably didn't bother to heat the water as it's a saving to them and what do they care if you'd paid 80 quid for a room and not had a shower. I doubt that anyone at breakfast had had a hot shower.

Shower had pubes from the previous guest. Wasn’t clean at all.

We stayed one night only, all good, friendly staff and very clean.

Room 105 didn’t even have a main light in the room. Shower over the bath didn’t drain properly due to the amount of hair in the plug hole. Not a great stay

The property has been renovated over the past year. It is clean and tidy the rooms are comfortable

Functional is probably the best description but, again, the room showed a lack any maintenance with wallpaper peeling from the wall and mildew around the picture window frames. My room was freezing and there were no instructions on how the air conditioning unit worked. Once I had worked it out, the draught it created was quite unpleasant. The bathroom was poorly appointed: no shelf to put your things on and a filthy stained toilet seat! The room just didn't feel very clean. Breakfast was adequate but I won't be making a return visit.

Helpful friendly staff, spacious room, nice bed, cute balcony.

I can not find anything wrong with the property. The only thing is that there is no bed side switch for a light. An small issue if your like me and read in bed, and having to get up to turn lights off. Heater is very complicated to use and set.

The highlight was the lovely view over the river from our room. Unfortunately the room and facilities are in need of some care. The in-room safe didn’t work, the iron leaked, the shower was temperamental and the room itself wasn’t well soundproofed - generally the whole place would benefit from a refresh.

We stayed in room 410 and it was great, the decor was lovely, the bathroom clean and modern, and the shower amazing.

First room I was offered the bed was not made and room not cleaned. Second room the generators for the air conditioning etc were right below my bedroom window.

Lovely location overlooking thames but tired and tatty. Bedrrom.a good size but poor state of decoration, stains on ceiling. Room, especially bathroom vibrating due to air con unit outside bedroom window. Bathroom tiny, broken toilet seat, no towel rail, nowhere to put towels while showering. Looked at breakfast but offering looked very basic & uninspiring so opted to eat out

It was a simple straight forward stay, plenty of hot water and yes recently renovated or at least given a coat of paint and maybe a new bathroom. The main problem is the windows remain single glazed old units and so are draughty. In itself this wouldn't be too bad but I couldn't work the room temperature so ended up just staying under the duvet for the evening. Nothing bad about staying here, overall pretty average and it was convenient for me so I'm not concerned but don't go here thinking you are going to have an opulent experience.

The hotel, despite apparent rennovation, still had a tired air to it and there was a smell in the corridors. Also DO NOT STAY IN ROOM 202! There is constant noise from a large airconditioning fan right outside of the bathroom window, to the point where the floor even vibrates. Aditionally there is a large crack in the bedroom window, sealed with Tape! We had a terrible nights sleep to be honest. There were damp patches on the walls and peeling wallpaper. Also the breakfast was ok, but the hash browns were soggy, the tomatoes were dry and the sausages were bland. Also the bread was cheap and thin. For a 3 star hotel i would expect more. The hotel is in a great location and has so much potential, but has a long way to go.

Disappointed this time. Room noisy due to huge air con unit outside. Bed far too soft, room tatty. First room they gave me already had a male occupant; not ideal for a solo female traveler. They gave me a glass of wine whilst they sorted new room and took my bags up but I then overheard the duty manager complaining at the staff for giving me a free glass of wine. Usually a much better stay so hopefully a one off

Great check in and evening meal service by Shriya. Nice view out ot the window of our bedroom and for breakfast/evening meal of the river.

Staff were so helpful and friendly!

My check in was ok but my colleague’s was not - got given a key to ‘his’ room on check in, only to enter the room and find a woman already in there! Shocking and very concerning for the rest of our stay, especially as there seems to be no inside lock on the doors. Also no heating - it’s 2am and I can’t sleep because it’s freezing. Other minor (ish) niggles -no safe in the room and no shelf in the shower

I stayed 6 nights. every day, i asked for housekeeping, every day they said no problem, it will be done. They showed up three times. All the staff were nice and polite, i am only rating them low on customer service because of lack of follow through.

The booking showed king size beds but apparently this is a lie. I tried several times to speak to the general manager Lauren However she refused to speak to me. Nice property in lovely location but run by rude, incompetent morons.

Lovely helpful staff. Hotel itself is functional. Bathroom was tired, needed painting. Room itself was fine. Broken window which slammed in the night. Good parking and convenient location on the river. Breakfast was ok

Good base for local area Cliveden and Windsor. River views, clean room with the main essentials. Breakfast (self serve) is very basic.

It was a room for a travelling worker. The best bit was the food in the evening, very tasty.

I stayed in a cheap room, not very nice, but the staff are great,restaurant food is really good.

We had a lovely room with a bay window and a river view. The only issues were people smoking + talking loudly in the evening below our windows. Also it would be good to have a fridge in the room, and a bit more variety for breakfast...

Building a bit tired, recently refurbished but not to a great standard. Breakfast mediocre.

The Hotel is much improved with it's refurbished rooms. Breakfast was one of the best we have had for a ' Self service' cooked breakfast was lovely and hot on both days. I would suggest that the lunch and evening menus could do with a change.. very basic which meant we didn't eat in the hotel. Our only other suggestion would be for the bathroom...please put a shower caddy in the shower to take shampoo, shower gel etc and because the sink is very small and the shelf above very tiny think about an additional shelf by the sink to be able to put out your toiletries...especially for us ladies! Overall though a good hotel at a good price with easy access into London.

Though I liked the location and the cleanliness of the rooms I was very disappointed by the service . I specifically booked the hotel as the website states that the restaurant was open until 9.30pn as I knew I wouldn’t get there until after 8.30 , even in my room the hotel information confirmed that the restaurant opening times . However when I went down to have a meal at 9pm I was told the restaurant closed at 8.45pm with no real apology or explanation except that the info should have been changed . I was therefore without food and had to go across to the Asda express for a sandwich . All in all a disappointment

Everything was great apart from the breakfast. I think the breakfast was itself good if and when you could get it. You certainly won't go hungry but the hot food kept running out. We went at 9.00 and they run out of mushrooms permanently, took 1.2 to replace the hash browns and scrambled eggs. There was only 2 people on, so I think they were understaffed. They tried their best. There's no cutlery put out, so when the table isn't set, you have to chase staff for it. The same for drinking water. Running out of plates too. They just don't stock everything fast enough. But I always made do, and went away happy.
