This was such a lovely place. Great vibe. Loved the furnishings and decorations. The pool is nice too. The owner is very friendly and the food from the restaurant next door is great. But, bring EARPLUGS!! This property has a great location, but is right in the flight path from the airport and on a major street.

The design of the property is nice, but needs a lot of maintenance. There is no water in the pool. Didn’t look clean at all, and it’s very humid inside of the room. Not a lot of choices for breakfast, no hangers or place for clothing. The only thing that it was very close to the airport. And the staff is very nice!

Very hospitable people. The outdoor area is beautiful and unique. We sat out by the pool and enjoyed a light breakfast off coffee, fruit and cake. You can hear the planes but there are ear plugs and it is so close to the airport and bus stop. Thanks for your kindness

The owner of this hotel build this the oasis of airport hotels. It is absolutely darling. Further, everything that the owner did to retrofit is 100+ your house into a 12 room hotel is done with a lot of love and extreme talent. If you need a place to stay close to the airport, and like affordable off the track experiences, you cannot go wrong with this property. The breakfast was wonderful. The pool area is a great place to hang out. The Wi-Fi was strong. Five minute taxi ride to the airport.

Hôtel qui ne correspond pas à la description ! Prix affiché différent du prix payé : taxes de carte bleue ?? Et pas d’efforts pour parler autre chose que l’espagnol. Piscine hors service et aucune insonorisation. Inadmissible c’est pas correct.

The overall hotel ambiance was pleasant and artistic. Our room was very close to the road with thin glass windows, and thus very noisy at night. We received notice 2 days prior to our arrival that the pool was under maintenance, which was slightly disappointing. Breakfast provided was a bowl of fruit and some Walmart pastries.

Casa Antigua was a pleasant surprise on our last night before flying out of Costa Rica. We had missed our flight that day due to construction/accident/who knows? on the road back from Puerto Viejo. We did a quick search for a place near the airport as we had to be out the door at 5:30 am. for our rescheduled flight. After a quick check in we made our way next door to La Casona 2 bar and restaurant for some wonderfully cold beers and decent nachos. Later we ordered pizza from Pepperoni's Express up the street in a cool little neighborhood. Use the light if you need to cross the street as it is very busy. We can also strongly recommend the mini super and licores Zarpa for a great selection of beer, wine and liquor. We brought our pizza back to the hotel and Henri immediately turned on the outdoor lighting around the pool and made sure we had plates and napkins. He also booked our $5 taxi ride to the airport the next morning. Overall, we were very impressed with the hotel, location and service. Please note that this hotel is on a busy road right under the flight path of the planes. However, after about 10 p.m. the noise was quite tolerable and we had a good night's sleep.

The impression gained from the web is misleading. The staff were welcoming and charming, it was clean but our room on the street was very noisy all night. There is no restaurant on site although we were recommended others. We didn’t have breakfast as we’re leaving early. Helpful staff ordered taxi to airport for us. Expensive.

Definitely a good place for a short stay. Only needed something for 12 hours until flight. Would not recommend for any long term stays. Room is small, but clean. Area seemed a little suspect, but we weren’t bothered while we there and nothing happened.

My wife, 2 year old, and I stayed one night at Hotel Casa Anigua on the last night of our Costa Rica vacation and it was the perfect place to end our trip. Our first impression at arrival was how interesting the landscaping and furnishings were along with how welcoming the staff was. We were amazed to see how clean the entire property was and the lobby and common areas felt like a welcoming home. Our daughter was very comfortable in the space. There were books available to read with her and we could have spent days looking at all the handmade furniture, plants and unique decorations. The room was comfy, breakfast was great, and the visit was very peaceful. We especially enjoyed our conversations with the owner who spent time talking with us and showing us around. I highly recommend staying here and would stay here again next time we're visiting.

Zimmer sind zweckmäßig. Personal sehr nett. Nähe zum Flughafen ist sehr gut, aber dadurch auch sehr laut. Durch die angrenzende Straße ist es so laut, dass man eigentlich kaum schlafen kann.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have a restful night at this hotel. The rooms we stayed in were right next to the highway. After a 14-hour journey, all we wanted was peace and sleep, but the incessant noise of cars, motorcycles, and planes was deafening.

Not what I expected. When using the toilet, your face is in the shower curtain and the sink to wash your hands is right next to your face by your pillow on the bed with no room to even stand in front of the room reminded me of a jail cell, although it was clean it was very tiny compared to what the pictures make it look like . Everytime a truck goes by the bed shakes . Extremely loud although they give you ear plugs. That’s says it all

Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Room and common areas were very clean. Matress was full sized and acceptable. TV didn't work. No a/c small room. Plenty good for 1 overnight stay to run to the airport. No Holiday Inn.

We were only there for one night, but I would not be able to stay there longer. Beautiful hotel inside and outside, but the room was tiny, along with the bathroom. The worst was the outside noise being so close to the highway: loud trucks, motorcycles, and cars all night long, along with low flying airplanes.

This place is right under the path of the planes landing. The traffic is really loud too but my last straw was that the shower only had cold water. I had wonderful coffee everywhere i went in Cost Rica but here. It was the worst coffee of all. I rarely do reviews but i would not recommend staying here.

Very small hole in the wall. They did accomadate a late check-in, but the room was tiny, the bed was uncomfortable, it was right on a noisy highway next to the airport. Was a terrbile night of sleep. In hind sight, i would have spent twice this much to have been anywhere else. Luckily we were only booked there for the 1 night.

Checking in was perfect, i believe it was the owner, he was helpful & incredibly helpful. He called our taxi for an early morning pickup, & brought us some morning snacks. The overall room definitely needed some care, lots of noise, but they have earplugs on the nightstand. I would stay again for an overnight

The staff was very friendly in making sure I had a cab back to the airport in the morning so I didn’t miss my flight. For some reason my cell phone wouldn’t make outbound calls to the local cab companies.

Owner Henry made our day. Very friendly, accommodating, and always willing to help. He even helped us book a taxi ride to the airport in the morning. Thanks Henry for welcoming us to Costa Rica at the start of our trip and helping us get back home at the end!

Convenient to airport (we were not visiting San Jose). Reception was gracious and helpful. She helped us find a restaurant. Restaurant choices were not inviting but ok. The room was inviting and the patio lovely. The street noises were pretty extreme and earplugs provided were much appreciated.

Loved this unique hotel. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and a beautiful cat named Pishou hanging around. If you want a big in the box hotel experience don’t stay. It had everything we needed for, this leg of our Costa Rican journey. Quite loud as it’s near a highway and the airport but we managed despite the noise. We would return.

It is only 5 minutes away from the airport, we don't have to worry about missing flights due to traffics or a expensive taxi. Meals are not expensive so the price is good for transferring between cities in the country.

Definitely a good place for a short stay. Only needed something for 12 hours until flight. Would not recommend for any long term stays. Room is small, but clean. Area seemed a little suspect, but we weren’t bothered while we there and nothing happened.

Unfortunately it's great location close to the airport makes it incredibly noisy and so it's difficult to sleep. Lots of street traffic - big trucks, horns and it's constant. Planes take off directly over the hotel so that's loud too. But, the staff are beautiful, helpful people and if you bring noise cancelling headphones it would be perfect.

Wonderful experience for a stay near the airport. The owner is phenomenally friendly as he talked to us and gave us a great advice for the rest of our trip including the best driving routs and so much more about the locations to stay as well as tourist attractions. The breakfast was very good, fresh and tasty. We’re excited to stay here again at the end of our trip.

Very hospitable people. The outdoor area is beautiful and unique. We sat out by the pool and enjoyed a light breakfast off coffee, fruit and cake. You can hear the planes but there are ear plugs and it is so close to the airport and bus stop. Thanks for your kindness

The overall hotel ambiance was pleasant and artistic. Our room was very close to the road with thin glass windows, and thus very noisy at night. We received notice 2 days prior to our arrival that the pool was under maintenance, which was slightly disappointing. Breakfast provided was a bowl of fruit and some Walmart pastries.

We loved our short stay at Casa Antigua. The owner and manager is incredibly attentive and helpful. The place is pretty incredible, with art and lots of beautiful woodwork created by the owner. It's very convenient to the airport. There were some rundown parts (ie broken toilet seat, restaurant no longer open), but overall it's a great value and we would stay there again.
