Staying at Headlands Inn is a real treat. Each room has its own unique personality and charm. On this occasion, we stayed in the cottage directly adjacent to the Inn. It was very bright and cozy with its own woodburning fireplace and a large whirlpool tub. A delicious full breakfast is delqivered to your door every day. The Inn staff are extremely welcoming and very helpful. The location is just around the corner from shops and excellent restaurants. Highly recommended!

Old Victorian home w/ character. Cozy and charming. Well maintained for its age. No TV so take a tablet or laptop for streaming entertainment. Good breakfast in bed. John the owner is courteous and helpful. If you prefer firm bed, it's soft and lumpy.

A Victorian property updated whilst retaining period charm. The room was of a good size with a comfortable bed and bathroom with all mod cons. The breakfast was fine and brought to the room. The downside if a period property was the creaks and groans of the wooden floors as people moved around and the lack of soundproofing. Also, no TV. However I would be happy to return.

Amazing! Just perfect for my birthday- the room was the essence of a B&B, Victorian ambiance perfectly decorated with tapestry style bedspread and the working fireplace, the breakfast measures up to any top restaurant, location is great in the heart of town but still sees the sea. Even the afternoon cookies & tea were superb. Accolades to John and Ashley

Great helpful staff. Uniquely decorated rooms in historic property. Fantastic breakfast provided. Note that the house is 3 stories with no elevator. Not a problem for us, but others might want to keep this in mind if elderly or challenged. Easy walk to beach trail to a beautiful State Park Beach.

The room was on the third floor which was a little hard to carry luggage up to the room. Had to park the car on the street. The room was nice and the breakfast was fantastic.

Pleasant, efficient owner and staff. Location right in center of town. Well appointed rooms. Our room was not in main building of inn, but a half block away in a separate building. It was still a charming room with a semiprivate deck that made the room more expansive than its actual size. Happy we stayed there.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. The room was spotless, the bed very comfortable and it was incredibly quiet all night until daylight (which in early November is late!). The host was very friendly and showed us a couple of the other rooms, they are all equally lovely. The location is a close walk to everything in town. If you open the window you can even hear the surf crashing in the distance.

The Headlands Inn is the archetypal Victorian Inn with lacy curtains, sitting parlor, and cottage garden. Plus the room was clean, the bed very comfortable and the breakfast delicious, so yes I'd stay there again.

The Headlands Inn B&B was a great place to stay for the money. Located in the heart of the village, we were able to walk to restaurants, stores and the bluffs over the Mendo Headlands. Staff was very helpful. The breakfasts were fabulous, though I do wish they were served a little earlier, they did accommodate for my food intolerances. The building and grounds could use some freshening such as fresh paint, garden care, etc. The windows didn’t work properly and I smashed my finger in one since the counter balance was not attached. The bed was lumpy and not very comfortable. Overall a nice stay!

We were in the Berry room. The view was amazing. The location exceptional. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast served in our room was delivered hot, well presented and delicious. We walked to Luna Trattoria the night before. It is around the corner from the Inn and we had a dinner that was perfect even though we had a seat at the bar because we were walk ins with no reservations. There are problems with the Headlands Inn: The carpet was dirty and worn, both in our room and in the common areas such as the staircase . The tile grout in our bathroom was dirty. It just needed a good cleaning. The blinds in our room were frayed and worn. The amenities in the bathroom felt like we were staying at our great aunt’s house and she had bought the best stuff from Walmart. The wallpaper through out the home felt tired, dated and worn. There was a throw rug in our room that was hiding the worn carpet below but was also a tripping hazard with the corners flipping up. This property needs a refresh. The experience could be amazing as the location is the perfect seaside vibe.

The staff were wonderful; breakfast was great, fresh, and tasty. Wilson room was clean. One of the light on the night stand flickers and turned on by itself after we went to bed, probably old wiring. Everything was to be expected for a historic building turned B&B. The only complain was the bed; super lumpy, probably time to replace it. Overall, our stay was pleasant, refreshing. Got amazing restaurants in Mendocino. Will visit again.

Great location and view. Breakfast was enjoyable. The Stofle room is adjacent to the main entry door. So you can hear the front door opening and closing. Condition of room was good.

I guess this will be a special place for us moving forward! We had literally the best honeymoon ever! The breakfast was amazing, we used the fireplace and even were gifted a half bottle of wine for our super special occasion. The keepers made everything feel homie and exceptional!

I guess this will be a special place for us moving forward! We had literally the best honeymoon ever! The breakfast was amazing, we used the fireplace and even were gifted a half bottle of wine for our super special occasion. The keepers made everything feel homie and exceptional!

Great helpful staff. Uniquely decorated rooms in historic property. Fantastic breakfast provided. Note that the house is 3 stories with no elevator. Not a problem for us, but others might want to keep this in mind if elderly or challenged. Easy walk to beach trail to a beautiful State Park Beach.

The Headlands Inn B&B was a great place to stay for the money. Located in the heart of the village, we were able to walk to restaurants, stores and the bluffs over the Mendo Headlands. Staff was very helpful. The breakfasts were fabulous, though I do wish they were served a little earlier, they did accommodate for my food intolerances. The building and grounds could use some freshening such as fresh paint, garden care, etc. The windows didn’t work properly and I smashed my finger in one since the counter balance was not attached. The bed was lumpy and not very comfortable. Overall a nice stay!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. The room was spotless, the bed very comfortable and it was incredibly quiet all night until daylight (which in early November is late!). The host was very friendly and showed us a couple of the other rooms, they are all equally lovely. The location is a close walk to everything in town. If you open the window you can even hear the surf crashing in the distance.

Words cannot describe how delightful this inn is. Lovely, view rooms, attentive staff, and a gourmet breakfast. This inn is within ez walking distance of shops, the pub and other Mendocino attractions.

The breakfast items were different each of the 3 days we were there. The sausage links were especially delicious, but all items were unique in their presentation and taste. We had the Wilson room with the fireplace, but it was not cold enough to fire it up. That would have been a cozy plus. Overall a really pleasant time. Kudos to John for providing a nifty solution to the free time we had.

The room was on the third floor which was a little hard to carry luggage up to the room. Had to park the car on the street. The room was nice and the breakfast was fantastic.

This was the finest bed and breakfast experience we have had anywhere. The room was great, with good furnishings and plenty of space. We loved having the Wilson room with the large balcony and an ocean view. The hot fresh cookies in the evening were delicious. The breakfasts were so special with a carefully prepared array of food each day. Clearly made with care and quality. Our hosts were always so pleasant and helpful as well. An excellent experience

This lovely B&B serves terrific breakfast brought to your room. The rooms are large with fireplace. There is a common space and cookies and tea are served every afternoon, but there is no common dining room. We did not find that a problem. We were on the 3rd floor. Staff offered to help with our luggage if necessary, but be aware, . It was a positive experience. Mendocino is a beautiful get-away from Central Valley heat and plenty of day hikes.
